Stayed here 2 nights in the basic double room. For the great price it was what you would expect. Beds were ok - nothing luxurious but the room was clean and spacious for the city. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We got in early around 10 and they checked our bags - they also allowed us to check our bags after check out so we could stay and enjoy our last day in the city. We prepaid for the room however they did put an additional 150 hold on our card when we arrived and charged a resort fee at check out of ~$50. Their parking is several blocks away and you need to have your ticket validated by the hotel to get the discount. After our time in the city the last day, we went directly to the garage to get the car before we went to the hotel to get the bags. We phoned the hotel and they sent a QR code to use as the validation which saved us a trip back to the hotel. The location is excellent for visiting Times Square and Broadway shows. The hotel is on a relatively quiet residential street which was nice to be out of the high traffic areas while still just a short walk away from the excitement of the city. Great value hotel. Would absolutely stay here again.

We had a good stay at the Belvedere! It is in an amazing location and had decent prices for a hotel in NYC. Our room was spacious and clean. It was pretty quiet during our stay there. Room has a mini safe, small fridge, and microwave. Bed was very comfortable. No complimentary breakfast, but there is free coffee in the morning. There is a small facility fee that you get charged when you arrive to check-in. Ours was about $45 for two nights.

We stayed here for the first time with our two boys, 10&11 and will definitely stay again! The location is perfect because you feel like you are in New York but you are not too overwhelmed with being in the city . It is quiet and the inside is historical but in an beautiful way it that feels clean and well taken care of. We were upgraded with our room due to it being our anniversary so we had a beautiful view of the city. We were able to check in several hours early also which was great because we were able to unpack and have almost a whole extra day to explore that we had originally not planned on. The bathroom was spacious and modern giving plenty of room and a nice space to unwind from the busy day. I plan to have this as my go to hotel for all future visits!

The staff was extremely nice and helpful. I was stressing from the trip in and I couldn't get my Apple card to work and Jacob and the gentleman working I don't know what his name was but they were so sweet and patient with me. They calmed me down. Everyone that works here from maintenance to the doorman , everyone is so sweet and friendly. The room was very nice. Comfortable beds and very quiet. Two blocks from Times Square and very centrally located to Broadway shows. I will definitely stay here again .

My family and I just had a 4 night stay at the Belvedere. The staff was helpful and friendly. Housekeeping also provided fresh towels each day. The rooms are small, but there is a mini fridge and microwave which was great for snacks and drinks. Even though we were in a busy location, I couldn’t hear any street noise or noise from neighbors. The hotel stores luggage for you until 11pm on the day of checkout which was so nice. The bellmen were so friendly and accommodating, it was pouring our last day and we were able to use the lobby bathroom to change and get ready for our show. The location and value were unmatched during my search for somewhere to stay. Negatives: The bed sagged in the middle, making me roll into my husband all night. The building is old and charming but that also means small and slow elevators. The morning coffee service is lacking, I think more small grab and go items could be offered rather than just granola bars. Those three things were not deal breakers for me and I will keep The Belvedere in mind for future visits.

Stay was quite nice. Room was updated and and clean. Quiet part of town, yet only a couple blocks from Times Square. That's about it until you get to parking... Recommended by front desk was parking at 140 W 51st St. This is underground parking and quite safe for your vehicle. HOWEVER, BEWARE OF PRICE SCAM! Guys behind the counter overcharged intentionally then ran the validation discount. Make sure to check the rates, they are located in the top right corner of the customer service window. Total should have been approximately 160 for parking for two full days and two hours (before discount).. Instead they ran 250 and discounted back to full rate. Guy behind the counter disappeared after I challenged him about the cost. Reported it back to hotel when bags were picked up, who took my information, doubt I will hear back.from them. Disappointed that this was the end of a nice stay and weekend in NY. Wonder how many other people they run the same scam on.

I was impressed by this hotel!! They guaranteed connecting rooms when I booked directly with them a month before my stay and they followed through. All other hotels could not guarantee connecting rooms and would “try to accommodate” I traveled with small kids and my mom so having connecting rooms was necessary for convenience. When we arrived at 6am they had a room available for early check in for a reasonable price. A crib for my baby was quickly delivered. The rooms were comfy, clean and spacious (for being NYC). Love that there was kitchenette with a mini fridge and microwave. Bathrooms were down the hall from beds so good for privacy. The location is GREAT!! Restaurants, shops, subway and Times Square nearby. You can hear noise from busy street but it’s NYC so it’s expected. The view from 15th floor was amazing! Staff was great and friendly. My family and I enjoyed our trip and would highly recommend!

Quick walk to Times Square without the noise and chaos directly outside hotel. This hotel is very centrally located to all we wanted to do! The room is a nice size! Bathroom kind of small. Shower pressure was on the lower side but the water got nice and hot! The hotel and rooms are very warm we had the ac running in the winter but we prefer to sleep in the cold. Nice size fridge and microwave. Front desk was friendly enough. We didn’t use room service during our stay so can’t speak to that. Beds were hard which my husband enjoyed but I woke up throughout the night my arms hurting and having to turn. Elevators are tiny and do take a while in the morning, about 10-15 minutes, but every other time we had no problems. Would stay here again!

The Belvedere is an excellent hotel. The room was clean (minus two hairs we found on the bed) and the staff was pleasant. We felt safe in this hotel and enjoyed the very spacious room. We had a Superior King room, which was upgraded from the Standard King. I am not sure how much difference there would have been between the two. The Superior King had a fridge and microwave. Housecleaning services were provided each day. The only thing that could have made this stay even better would have been a complementary breakfast. It seems like there aren’t many hotels right near Times Square that offer breakfast and we knew that before going into this reservation. If this is a dealbreaker for you, you can find some hotels further out that offer a breakfast. The Belvedere offers hot chocolate, coffee, and tea in the mornings with a granola bar. I would recommend thoroughly reading through your booking terms and conditions. I booked through a third party and read all of the information about fees, charges, and taxes. We overheard a few people in the lobby complaining about the “additional” fees, which some third parties don’t include in their charges. Read through everything and know what you’re expected to pay before you go. Overall, I would stay here again. We had a great experience!

Stayed here for four nights in a superior double room. I had to work from the hotel during the day, so spent a lot of time in the room during the day, and I have to say I was really impressed with the quality. It feels like an old-school hotel that has modernized really well. Got a solid rate at about $230 + taxes/fees per night, however when I asked about extending my stay for a Saturday night the rate would have increased to $480+ which at that rate I would recommend somewhere else. Regardless, was a great find in a great location with a great room ! Will definitely be going back.

This was my first time in Manhattan. The guy with the bald head who checked me in was not very welcoming and I felt rushed. OTHER than that, it was great. Rooms are clean. Housekeeping is great. Location is fantastic. We thought the rooms would be a lot smaller compared to other hotels but they were surprisingly spacious. A little on the higher end in price but well worth it for being 2 minutes from Times Square. All around a great stay, would come back.

It is a very nice hotel with an excellent location. It has an area for storing bags for passengers who arrive before check-in or wish to leave their bags after check-out. They have an office that advises on the attractions of the city and receives the packages that arrive in your name. The front desk is open 24 hours a day and the staff is very friendly. Several of them spoke Spanish. It is true that the elevators are few for the number of rooms. The secret is to ask for a room on a very low floor, to use the stairs when going down. Or a very high one so you are the first to go up to be able to go down. The problem only occurs when going down to the middle floors, since when the elevator arrives, it is already full of people who went up to the upper floors. The gym is very well equipped and spotlessly clean. There is also an ice machine on the ground floor, a bit hidden but it's there. It is a very quiet neighborhood, although the sirens of the firemen can be heard a lot since the barracks are just around the corner. Although sirens are always being heard in New York, wherever you are.

We spent 3 nights at The Belvedere during our recent NYC trip. Our hotel stay was exceptional. The check-in and checkout was a breeze. The hotel room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The beds were nice to sleep on, for the 4 of us. The air conditioning worked well. The bathroom was clean and the tub and the shower was great. While we did not have a need to interact with the hotel staff at any point in time, they were very helpful, knowledgeable and kind. The location of The Belvedere is very close to Times Square and just a few minutes from the starting location of the Big Bus Tours. It is walking distance from Central Park, Empire State and Hudson Yards. We discovered a lot of cost effective eating places nearby. This hotel is hands down the best value for money available right now. I am so happy we chose to stay here...

We really enjoyed our stay. We got into the city early in the day, and they were able to check us in at around 11:00 in the morning, which really made things easier. Rooms are a good size for NYC and are very comfortable. There is some street noise, but not bad considering the location. The location is really good... close to Times Square, Rockefeller Center and most theatres. Also only about 1-2 blocks from the subway.

We enjoyed a wonderful 3 nights at the Belvedere Hotel. Excellent location. Friendly and helpful staff. Call a few weeks ahead of time to request a quiet room - we were on the top floor. That helped with noise. Great price for the location in the heart of Manhattan and the theater district.

We honestly loved our stay. All the staff were fabulous. The bellhops were so helpful and over the top with kindness. The room was clean, comfortable and very tasteful. I have an overly sensitive nose and the room was completely clear of any irritants or odors of any kind. There were no signs of insects (no bed bugs!) or anything else. I had heard the elevators were slow, but they were not. We never waited more than 15 seconds. I could not possibly come up with anything negative to say about this hotel.

We stayed 4 nights here and it was fantastic. If we visit NY again, I want to go back here. Perfect location to get to the subway, close to Time Square, Central Park and, of course Broadway! No matter where you stay, you'll want a hotel near by to go back and pee at. Public restrooms are a bit hard to come by. Our room was on the 3rd floor right by the service elevator. We took the stairs a lot since so many ppl were using the elevators. Our room was quiet. Granted we weren't in it too much besides at night. Bathrooms are very nice. My husband picked this hotel out and, although we don't travel often at all and I wasn't expecting much, this place surpassed great! It was perfect.

I have stayed here a few times over the years and it never disappoints. The primary reason I choose this hotel is the location. It’s in a very central location in Manhattan. The street itself is quiet though. The rooms are nice, nothing fancy but we also spend very little time in our room when we are in NYC. The staff is friendly and polite . There is no breakfast but you can grab a coffee in the Lobby area. Plenty of places to get breakfast nearby .

Good hotel, good location for first time visitors or those wanting to see Broadway shows, very comfy bed, clean room, and great view from our room on the 16th floor. We were transferred from their sister hotel, Americana Inn, which was a great upgrade. A coffee maker/kettle in the room would have been nice though. Didn’t have too many interactions with the staff as we aren’t overly chatty people, but when we did they were all quite friendly. The door men were more like security guards so I wasn’t surprised or offended by them not being too friendly.

The location is great. Service is great too. Yes the AR is noisy but we did not use it and it was ok. Bathroom and bedroom perfect. There s a microwave and a little fridge but no boiler (that's the only thing missing.. I missed a coffee in bed in the morning). Yes you can have a coffee in the morning somewhere in the hotel, but it s not the same, a real breakfast would be great before discovering New York). It s an old hotel in a very good state... Which add some soul to the all thing

Pros: Location was great. Very efficient and kind front desk agents. Bed was comfy. Spacious rooms with all the amenities one needs. Morning coffee was good. Great lobby. Cons: Very aggressive cleaning service. Multiple knocks on door despite Occupied Sign and latched door. Practically walked in on us twice, and then we received a call from presumably the front desk who hung up on us when we answered. Debris that wasn’t ours underneath beds and behind dresser. The lock on the shower head was broken which was a mild inconvenience. Towels were somewhat abrasive.

This place was fantastic. You cannot find a better location for the price. We had no issues checking in and out, and the whole stay was great. The only minus is the cleaning crew. I was working in my room and they kept coming in, I asked them not to clean, but not only this wasn't an option, one of them told me I needed to leave so they could clean (hotel policy). In general it was 10 times better than an Airbnb, and they had coffee in the morning!

We had adjoining rooms with a kitchenette. Awesome view. Awesome location. Comfortable beds. Great service. Didn’t hear any noise from other guests (and we were right by the elevators). Street noise obviously, but it’s just far enough from Time Square that it seems to quiet down at night. We easily slept peacefully at night. Everything in our rooms worked great. We will definitely book here again.

Nice clean room for a good price. Great location. We were able to check in early which helped tremendously. Parking garage nearby. Only complaint would be window AC unit Very loud, had to turn on because even though very cold outside our room was very warm. Once room cooled off we were able to turn off and sleep comfortably.

The lobby is very nice, but our room was old and tired. Our room, 625, was frigid. Had a window unit air conditioner without proper insulation. Couldn't control the heat because it was an old radiator. Bathroom smelled like stale cigarettes. On a positive note, when we called the front desk, they sent someone up quickly to tape and put foam insulation around the air conditioner. Another call got us an extra blanket. We were comfortable for the night.

Wonderfully kind front desk staff, sparkling clean rooms and friendly housekeeping. On site coin op laundry and a super cool mail chute that you can send postcards down to a mailbox 17 floors below. I'm just saying, it's rad.

If you're searching for a convenient place to stay during your business trip, this location can be quite chaotic. However, it offers a fantastic opportunity to explore the city and be in close proximity to all the essential amenities. It truly provides a warm welcome to the bustling streets of New York.

Although I'm giving it a 5 star for rooms, service and location, there are some things that should be better. There is no breakfast. The only thing offered to eat is breakfast bars, carefully monitored so that you only take one. This is likely a by-product of people taking advantage, but seemed a bit clumsy. We asked for 2 extra towels, got one. The bathroom sink was not cleaned at all, although the rest of the bathroom was. The facilities fee was a surprise. I don't mind paying for it, as long as I know about it up front. Location is great. The staff was very nice and helpful. We were just a couple blocks from out theatre and Times Square. I would conditionally recommend the hotel. We had a good experience, but it's just lacking in a couple minor areas.

I have lived in the neighborhood for 20 years before staying here after relocating. I can tell you that the location is much better being slightly west of 8th Ave instead of a bit east in Times Sq. I was shocked at how nice the hotel was relative to the price I paid. The rooms offer a great size, comfortable beds and pillows, nice bathroom, robes, etc. You can tell that the staff enjoy working here and it feels sort of boutique. Everyone who works here is really friendly and the hotel itself is very clean/spotless. I had an issue with an LED lightbulb and it was taken care of in 10 min. If you are looking for a value play in Hell’s Kitchen this is it.

This was my first time in new york and you can’t beat the location and price! The rooms are a little dated but the bathroom was renovated and super nice! The outdated room kinda gives the new york vibes which I enjoyed. The room was a decent size. They held our bags for us complimentary while we walked around and waited for the room. We requested a room and they still got us checked in at 1pm instead of the 4pm check in time. We asked for the 17th floor and had a great view! It took less than 5 minutes to walk to times square and everything near us we hardly even took the subway. I would definitely stay here again!

Loved the location and the rooms were nice. The only negatives were the lighting in the room (impossible to apply make-up) and the elevators were small. Then I few days into our trips we started seeing roaches. After two days I complained and they gave us a new room. I attempted to contact the hotel on their website and no one has reached out to me. I stayed 5 nights and spent $3300, you'd think they would offer a little more customer service.

The room we had on the 17th floor had nice views. The room was spacious and looked and felt very clean. The bed was very comfortable, hotel staff were nice and friendly, gym is very small. Location of the hotel is great and within walking distance of most major attractions. Only negative I had with the hotel was curtains do not close and the blind on the window did not roll all the way down so light was still breaking through at the bottom

Nice rooms ! Bigger then most in Manhattan, the bell hopper was the main problem with service rude and money hungry begging for tips without giving you the chance to take out your wallet first. Location is great just 3 minutes from times Square and 8 minutes from the Rockefeller center. Only problem with the room would have to be the TV it just doesn't work.

  • 5/5 Beatrice M. 8 months ago on Google
The hotel is quite nice, the rooms are big and comfortable, location is great to visit New York, the subway is just around the corner and Times Square is a couple of blocks away. Unfortunately the ladies at the check in weren’t very friendly and that could definitely be improved. The rest of the staff was really great and helpful. Would recommend.

Situated within 5 minutes walk of Times Square. I found the staff Helpful. The rooms are clean and large enough to be comfortable. With a TV and handy fridge The rooms do not have coffee and tea making facilities which was a shame. Although you can get a coffee, tea or hot chocolate in a room next to the front desk between 7&10 am. There is a very small gym which I didn't use. We were asked to pay (we didn't have a choice) 20$ per day for internet access, use of the gym and the aforementioned hot drinks. I felt this should have been included. We had good 10 days stay here and I would probably stay there again. The location is good and we couldn't hear much noise from the street.

  • 1/5 Vivi 1 year ago on Google
Location is great, however, staff (very ghetto) rooms smell like cigarettes, elevator so small that either you go or you luggage goes, but both will not fit in the elevator. No garbage bags, bathroom was dirty. Fire alarm went off in the middle of the night , phone in the room didn't work, only speaker form. The door men were amazing, always smiling all of them and very helpful, but the front staff not at all. They talked to you like you're from the streets, no respect at all. Will defiantly not be returning and will not be recommending this hotel to any friends or family.

The staff at the front desk were very polite and knowledgeable. There was a gentleman at the front door opening the doors for the guests which I thought was nice. We were upgraded to an executive room which was excellent. The room was spacious and clean. We will definitely stay here when we visit NY again.

First time at this hotel and won’t be the last. Great location if your plans include the theater. The cafe was closed but there is a great little deli on the block where we had breakfast at outside table every morning. Room size was very comfortable and so was the bathroom with rain shower head. There was a fridge and microwave that we did not use. Staff was friendly. On the downside is a small check in desk with only 2 staff and the elevators were also slow to open. Tip: third elevator available if you look for it. Be patient it’s worth it!

I stayed at the belvedere a couple times. Each experience has been wonderful. Parking is a little difficult just because of the hotels location but I was able to get a prime spot right out in front and seeing as how it was the weekend I wasn't forced to move from left to right side of the street. Rooms are always clean and neat. Hotel in general is quiet and comfortable. Desk staff is always courteous and helpful.

Our flight was cancelled so we could not go on our trip, however the hotel refused to give us a credit. We didn't' even ask for our money back. We are still going to do our trip but no chance we stay here given the rude service we got over the phone. If you are booking a trip, I would advise finding a hotel that understands the current situation rather than stay here.

  • 4/5 Emily J. 2 years ago on Google
The Belvedere is in a great location if you’re going to see a Broadway show like we were. Our room was very clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because 1) the beds were a bit hard, and the pillows were awful and 2) the room was very hot (so much so that we had to turn on the AC to sleep, in February). Other than that, no complaints!

  • 5/5 Lindsey P. 2 years ago on Google
They were very helpful and patient when we had trouble booking. Jacob was super nice and patient and even asked us how we were doing the next day because he knew both of us were almost having panic attacks. The hotel manager was very sweet and got me some sugar when I couldn't find any. And maintenance fixed an issue with our remote and was also very kind! If I ever come back to New york I would definitely stay here again!!

The location was great, the price was good. Problems: Hair that wasn't mine in the bed. Fake eyelashes on the floor. Window wouldn't close and generator or something was right below the window. My last night (I was traveling alone) at about 8pm my kitchenette begins to rattle. And then the screaming of a man. It gets only more and more aggressive. I get scared and call down to the reception but no one answers. The screaming and pounding? continue and it sounds really close. I finally get a hold of someone and they tell me they are coming up to investigate. I didn't feel safe or reassured. I understand it wasn't the hotels fault for a guest being aggressive but as a solo female traveler, I do need reassurance that I am safe

Don't forget to use ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ. ᴄᴏᴍ when booking a place. This website will compare countless hotel sites and usually will have rooms much cheaper compared to others! Thank me later! This hotel is in the perfect location. Everything was super clean and staff were all friendly. No issues at all. There are different types of rooms and we booked an updated room which was lovely. Would definitely stay here again!

Clean, comfortable, nice staff. I felt the $75 per night security deposit was ridiculous. I have stayed on many hotels in NY that don't charge this. We got it back but seems excessive.
