Amazing, just amazing, just don't lose the ticket. Great portions (close to half a pound of pastrami per serving), great service (friendly staff offer free pastrami samples), large number of options to choose from (including desserts), ample seating, restroom and option for self or table service, bit pricey but definitely worth it. It is a high sodium meal. Ensure that you don't lose the ticket which they give you as you enter as losing it entails a $50 fine per lost ticket. They write what you got on the ticket. We got the Reuben, pastrami and frankfurter (all three phenomenal). The pastrami sandwich is likely one of the best things I have ever eaten. It was juicy, melt in your mouth with great flavor throughout. The pickles and cucumber they give on the side also help cut the richness and refresh your palate to enjoy it more. The rye bread was also amazing.

I'm trying to be very honest in that review. We came at around 3:30PM, the Line was very long, we've waited around 30 minutes. We took 2 kinds of sandwiches, the pastrami, which the meat itself was amazing, and the corned beef which was very dry to my taste. The sandwiches themselves are also pretty dry, don't get me wrong, they put *tons* of meat inside, but what does it worth without vegetables and more that a light spread of mustard.. and the bread just isn't good enough for me. It was nice to see such a place, but I can't see myself eating there again.

Not the easiest place to find with Google search. Asked the subway worker and he directed straight there. I’ve seen this place on food network several times and had to try it. It was extremely busy when we walked in. I guess there was a line but since no one was paying attention the guy said come in. It was a little overwhelming so many people were there and I had no idea what to do. I guess you have the option of ordering at the counter and if you want a table in the front you just wait and find one. I suggest having someone save your seat and the other ordering if you want to go that route. If you want to be waited on you walk to the back and there is a hostess there where you stand in line and they will help seat you and you can have a waiter. The wait took maybe 20-30 min not to bad, but the place was crowded and the one for the employees is right by the line so they need room to go back and forth. When we were seated the waiter gives you a ticket and that’s what you use to pay with. We ordered the Pastrami, Corned Beef and Bagel, Lox && Cream Cheese with NY cheesecake! It was delicious. Some say it maybe overrated for the price and I can see a little of that but the sandwiches are big and the place is super cute! Make sure after you pay you hold on to your receipt because you’ll need it to get out the doors. I’ll definitely visit this place again.

An iconic place, and institution by itself. Expect some wait time and crowd. The place is very popular and extremely busy. If you want to get some authentic Jewish food, east European delicacy- look no further, this is the place. The interior is an old school diner type- and definitely will take you back in time. You can try any cream soda ( different flavors), beer, lemonade, coffee, or anything. You have to eat the famous pastrami sandwich here. It’s humongous. It’s difficult to finish alone. The soft, melt in mouth pastrami is the best one that I have eaten so far. Also you will get matzo ball soup, latke, knish, etc various Jewish delicacies. I was almost in a food coma after eating here. They accept credit cards however, cash only check out lines are also there.

Best pastrami sandwich I've ever had. The soup was very good as well. It's nice to see all the pictures of celebrities that have come to check this place out. This place is definitely worth the hype.

Katz's is an absolute classic in NYC! The pastrami is legendary, as are the usual queue to get in and the speed of the servers. Sandwiches come with pickles and are a good size (don't forget to try a little piece of meat), blintzes are huge and heavenly. This place gets packed at lunchtime so I recommend patience and above all - know what you are ordering before arriving at the counter!

Wasn’t sure about coming here but it really was worth it. I travel a lot for work and hate feeling like a tourist but they were great. You get a ticket, you line up for a cutting station, sit down and eat and then pay with the ticket after. I had the pastrami on rye and the meat was truly the most succulent and delicious I’ve had. The rye was soft, the mustard flavourful and perfectly-balanced, it came with a plate of pickles and cucumbers. The cutter let me try some brisket just to compare - also fantastic. But the pastrami is the one to go for. It wasn’t dry at all and I would have the same again.

An important place on the NYC map for fans of meat sandwiches. The delicatessen is always crowded with customers, which means that the waiting time is very long (one star less). But if you like pastrami, it's really worth the wait. The sandwiches may seem pricey at $27, but the portions are huge and if you're not really hungry you can share one portion. The place is also known from movies and has been visited by many famous people. We recommend.

A friend recommended this shop to us for its famous pastrami. Many artists have visited, and you can find their photo frames on the wall. The shop is crowded even on weekdays, but there are plenty of seats. The food portions are huge; one pastrami sandwich can be shared by two people. The pickles are good, though it would be better if they were cut into smaller pieces. We also tried the bagel, and it had an average taste, not worth trying.

Although packed with tourist and we had to make a very long line to get in, this place really delivers. We asked the butcher if he recommended any of the other meats besides pastrami and he basically said: pastrami is the best meat. He gave us some samples of the corned beef and tongue but he was right. We went for the pastrami sandwiches and a frankfurter and I have to say that the pastrami sandwich is by far the best I’ve ever had. I even brought one to Mexico with me. The meat was really juicy, perfectly seasoned and very generous portion in the rye bread. Just some mustard and you are all set!

This place has changed over the years. It's now a tourist spot instead of being just a great place to eat. The lines were long to get in but moved pretty quickly. There's 8 cutting lines once you get in, and some good advice is to let them know how to slice your meat and / or cheese. I recommend thin or extra thin. The next challenge is to find a table. I recommend having someone from your group find a table while the rest order food or beverages. Also, there's another line to wait for table service, and if I ever go back, I will definitely choose that. I prefer it back in the old days when I used to go there over 35 years ago. It was just like in the movie, When Harry Met Sally. There were no lines and all table service.

Katz’s is an institution for a reason. Absolutely the best pastrami sandwich that has ever existed. You can’t go wrong with a place like this. It’s been around for ages and is still always busy, featured in movies and just an absolutely iconic place. The decor is iconic, and there’s even a sign over the famous table from When Harry Met Sally. I haven’t been in years and when I went back for a pastrami on rye with mustard, it was like being transported back in time. The sandwich is absolutely stuffed with hot, fresh, melt in your mouth pastrami. It’s so flavorful and thick cut, but super tender and soft. It’s expensive, but it’s absolutely worth it for such a fantastic taste of classic NYC. Do yourself a favor and go immediate

Managed to stop here just prior to a flight leaving New York. I knew what a legend this place was and had been wanting to try it for a while. Arrived before noon so the line wasn’t to bad and it moved quickly. I like that the cutters offer you a sample of the pastrami. I had never had pastrami before that hadn’t come from a grocery store. The meat was tender, juicy and extremely flavorful. The pickles were perfect too! Absolutely loved it here!

The gentlemen preparing the pastrami was very friendly and immediately figured us as 1st timers and tourists. Despite the busy long queues he was very friendly and patient and gave us samples of the pastrami and corned beef while preparing the food. 👍 We preferred the pastrami to the combo of pastrami and corned beef as the latter was not as juicy and succulent. The coleslaw and pickles helped to cut through the richness of the meat. The beer was refreshing and perfect complement to the food. Perfect 5🌟 rating in my opinion for both food and counter service. Pastrami definitely highly recommended as per many NY food blogs.

Do not be intimidated because of the queue, it moves pretty fast. Pastrami sandwich was wonderful. The meat was very tender and had a good balance of saltiness. It is big but if you are hungry, you will be able to finish whole one by yourself. Pickled cucumber and french fries were also very good. The fries feel and taste much less greasy than what they look. The ambiance inside is an experience on itself. I hope to be able to come again even on this short visit to the city. Update: life hack: if you can't decide what to choose or if you come as a big group but also want to save some money. The three meat platter costs only $40 dollars but you get lots of meat, lots of pickles, and lots of bread. Can easily feed 3 people, probably even more. And it is delicious!

Had an amazing experience and a fantastic sandwich!!! The pastrami was super delicious and everything I ever dreamed of. Definitely going to be a wait so expect to spend some time here but very worth it. The place is bigger than I imagined so there’s definitely seating available. Remember to bring cash as well because they do not accept credit cards!

As a first timer to NYC, this is one of the must go places in my list. Katz's Deli has been around for over 100 years, serving the same delicious Jewish delis. I ordered half a portion of the famous pastrami sandwich on rye and a bowl of Matzo ball and it was actually good enough to share among 2 people just to have a taste of it (I'm from Asia where I'm used to smaller food portions). The pastrami was very good! Tender and flavourful, and you get to have a taste of it when the cutter is preparing your order, it's part of the experience. The matzo ball was pretty good too, love the clear soup and the soft texture of the matzo ball. Great to warm up my stomach in the morning.

We got the tickets for each person who entered for ordering meals. There’s long line of customers and our line certainly not moving for more than 30 minutes, plus the customers in front us seemed continuously ordered stacks and stacks of sandwiches. And we finally get rescued when one of the staff reminded about their waited service, all you have to do was walk to the back of the restaurant and they’re servers waiting for you, it was that’s the best decision! We ordered the famous pastrami sandwich, matzo ball soup and frankfurter, the NY best natural casing all beef dog. All are deliciously juicy and perfect! Their cucumber pickles are very crunchy and refreshing. The restrooms checked was good, although it’s hidden (read the signage on the back), some water splashed on the floor, just have to be careful with your steps around. It was a great experience to be in one of legendary list of restaurants with 132 years of life history!

Food is good albeit a bit on the pricier side for a sandwich. 1 sandwich is good for 2 people though. If you're a party of 3, you can order 2 types and have the sandwiches sliced into 3 instead of the usual 2. There were 3 of us but we ordered a different sandwich each - Pastrami, Reuben Corned Beef, Brisket plus a hotdog, coleslaw and soda. It was too much for lunch. 😅 Will still go back once in a while especially to try the other menu items. Despite no line outside, it was full inside.

Delicious pastrami sandwich with pickles! Had a taster at the counter and loved the tenderness, softness and well-seasoned pastrami. Lovely, quirky decor, like a old fashioned large dining hall, walls decorated with photos and poster. A pastrami sandwich was around $29-30 (inclusive tax), considered a big portion for me and packed half away to take away. Would love to come back again and try other things on the menu!

I’ve been wanting to come here for a few years now and I’m so glad I did. The wait is worth it and it will go fast, you will be in and out faster than you know it. I got the pastrami on rye and Reuben Sandwich with pastrami on rye’s. Both were so amazing very thick sliced meat and they give you a nice plate of pickles to go with it. Make sure to add their mustard it’s really good. This place is famous for a reason.

I mean there's a reason why this place is known all over the world. It's so delicious and worth braving the lines and chaos. The sandwiches are perfect and very generous. I wish I lived closer so I could get the Reuben all the time. It's so fun to stare at the photos covering the walls with all the people who have visited over the many, many years!

If you are in NY this is a must. The place looks like you were back in time, very authentic. The sandwiches were incredible. The meat, the taste, the mostaza. Even the hot dogs were really really good. The portions are huge (at least for us). Prices are really good to be in NY, every person get a little paper that is going to include all that you have eat and you need to give it to the guard when you are coming out. So be sure that you don’t lose it, otherwise they are not going to let you out.

There are very few places that live up to the "hype" and this is one of then. I was pleasantly surprised but it could be because my expectations were low. The sandwich was good! Pastrami was not too salty. The mustard, the pickles, the bread. Perfect! I would recommend this place to all if you're ever in the city.

This is a true New York institution and much less of a tourist trap than one might expect! The pastrami they serve here is out of this world and accompanied with some of the best pickles I’ve ever had (and I’m Polish) and the first that could rival my grandma’s! Come here for the classic Pastrami on Rye or get more adventurous! And don’t forget the Dr Brown soda! This place has soul and is just fun - it’s also big so you might not even stand in line that long! High and well deserved praise! Ps. The sandwich is like $26, but it easily will feed two people and there is like a pound of meat inside - well worth trying!

Pastrami was great, but... experience was a bit overwhelming. You walk in, they tell you to pick a line. Of course, the one I chose was behind a guy who ordered 7 different special order sandwiches to go. About 10 minutes later, when I switched lines, I was teased by the "sandwich cutters". Prices were HIGH!! $27.45 for a sandwich. 9.85 for a side of fries. Crowded and loud.

As a tourist it was a must see and it lived up to expectations. It can take a little but to get served, but I timed it right and was able to walk right in. The ordering process is a little different at first but the team are helpful and very patient with tourists and in hindsight it does make sense and there are clear signs up. The pastrami sandwich was amazing, some of the best of any meat I've had, a lovely smoky flavour and so juicy and tender. Souvenirs were very reasonably priced as well. Forget any other reason to cone here - do it for the fantastic food!

The pastrami, though very pricey, was delicious! Even better than it looks. I got the reuben (add pastrami $1) which came with house pickles and we also got the fries which were also incredible. Really disorganized, confusing "lines" but at the counter they give each patron a sample of the meat while you wait for your sandwich/order. Excellent hard workers and quality deli meats. Was able to get a table which was pure luck. Free tap water fountains is a plus too. Great famous spot so glad we went!

Sandwich was great and staff were helpful and friendly. It’s simple food but they don’t cut corners and give you whatever. They take care when they’re preparing the sandwich even though it’s just three things. Took about 1 hour to get the food, so be prepared to wait in line. Is it the best sandwich I’ve ever eaten? I’d say no, but definitely worth checking since it’s one of the most iconic places in New York City.

It is really a legendary place. I'm impressed by how the staff here keeps things running smoothly. Despite the crowd, it's clean, fast, and the food is absolutely delicious. It's more than just a great dining experience. It's hard to put into words, but you can feel the history and culture here through the photos on the walls. Like a scene from "When Harry Met Sally," you find yourself looking around and thinking, "I'll have what she's having."

The pastrami was well worth the long bus ride to get there from Battery Park area. Corned beef sandwich was a bit disappointing though. Still the atmosphere and ordering experience make Katz's a must do for tourists. I recommend the half sandwich and soup, pea and lentil are both excellent. Latke serving generous but could use a larger side of apple sauce. Great experience overall.

We had dinner on a Monday night. It was not as packed as it usually is so we were assisted rather quickly. Julian was efficient with our orders and very professional. Food was very tasty and fresh as it was sliced to order. Matzo ball soup was also very good. The tables were cleaned off quickly so it was easy to find a table. This was well worth the drive from central jersey. We will definitely come back and recommend!

We were there while in NYC because everyone was talking about the famous sandwich. I can tell you that we expect really something else from them. They were sort of dry even though we asked for juicy ones, and the sauerkraut made "Reuben" weird. The staff was ok. The place was packed as always, I guess, but we managed to get a seat and serve pretty fast. Would recommend as an experience but would not return.

My fiancé, and I who are born and raised New Yorkers came to the conclusion that, despite the fact that we have lived in New York the majority of our lives we’ve never experienced many of the attractions NYC is famous for. So we decided to create a bucket list of all the things and places the are on most “ must see” lists for NY. At the top of the food list was Katz delicatessen. While both of us have visited this place apart, it has been more than 15 years since our last visit. On Saturdays this place is open 24 hours and open late other nights. Located in the lower Eastside. This place has been around since 1888. That’s a lot of pastrami sandwiches. We ordered a classic pastrami and a Reuben with corn beef. The sandwiches came with complementary side of pickles. Honestly, I understand the hype about this place. The pastrami sandwich is massive and delicious One sandwich is more than enough to share. At the price for one sandwich…sharing is probably the best option. The restaurant looks exactly the same as it did 15 years ago and as it did in the famous movie when Harry met Sally. Yes this is the place where Harry met Sally in the classic movie! The food and history undoubtedly are worth every bit of the hype. If I had ones suggestion it would be that they replace the ceiling tiles

Katz's Delicatessen is one of those rare diamonds. I never knew this place existed but apparently based on the hundreds of pictures on the wall a lot of famous people had visited this place and is now a tourist favorite. From outside it looks like any other ordinary place except for the line of people waiting outside which causes curiosity. vaccine cards are required if dining in other wise no worries.I like that as you wait for your order to be prepared the Butcher will let you taste the meat so you can be sure of your choice . We ordered the corned beef sandwich and the pastrami sandwich and it was deliciously juicy. The Butcher Mr.Mariano is very generous and put a lot of meat on our sandwiches adorned with pickles on the side. The flavor and texture was just amazing we love it and will definitely go back to try others options from their varied menu.

Just the best pastrami I’ve ever had in my life. It’s so good that it puts all other pastrami I’ve ever had to shame. The line was almost around the block but we were in and seated within 15 min- a true testament to just how efficient these guys and gals are. Both the Reuben and classic pastrami on rye were fantastic. Their house mustard and pickles are addictive. Washed it all down with a great matzo ball soup. If not for an assuredly early death due to a massive MI, I would eat here every day.

Walk in, get a ticket. Use the ticket to get sandwich and drink from each station. Find a table. Enjoy the delicious meal. When done, bring the ticket to the innermost station to pay by card, or the front door to pay by cash. The last step could be improved. Try the vanilla egg cream. The corned beef sandwich is NOT recommended.

There is a reason this place has stood the test of time in NYC, an absolute staple and must do if visiting here. Alright, this is a hot take. And I’m not trying to do this just to be contrarian. But I really can’t seem to justify the price for what you get here. Yes, their sandwiches are HUGE with heaping portions of pastrami. But there really isn’t much craft to the sandwich—it’s all just meat. And lots of pickles on the side. After just a couple of bites, I got tired of the sandwich, gets real heavy real fast. And you pay almost $30. I really do love the environment and the hustle and bustle energy of the place though. Maybe if anything, that’s what you’re paying for.

Don't need to reinvent the wheel with this one, you know it's good and a MUST do experience in NYC. The Pastrami Sandwich is a spectacle of presentation and both taste. Big lines, big crowds and big sandwiches. We shared a sandwich between two, I feel one to yourself would tip you over a touch 🤣 Enjoy! The cutter we had was extremely slow and kept leaving at intervals, leaving empty handed and returning the same. This was the only downside, but you can't expect anything else from such a machine of an eatery.

It’s chaotic and brilliant in equal measures. The experience of watching them carve the meat and make the sandwich in front of you is well worth the trip alone but the taste of the food makes it even better. Amazing pastrami, and super tasty Philly cheese steak. So glad we made the effort to go and the queue wasn’t to long either at about 1pm on a Monday.

This is an institution for deli meats in NYC. They give you a sample of the meats you like before you order. Wow, you can try and then buy. What a concept. Once you choose the sandwich you want, the cutters present a huge sandwich of your choosing. You can add sides as well, such as pickles, slaw, fries, and desserts. A great place to visit.

This place is a MUST visit if you’re in the area. While the line outside may seem long and daunting, it honestly moves pretty quickly. We ordered a half pastrami and half brisket sandwich for two people and it filled us up! The meat was tender and so insanely delicious and the bread had a soft, buttery taste. Easily the best sandwich I’ve ever had in my life. I would highly recommend the brisket over the pastrami (but I’m not a huge pastrami person anyways).

Best pastrami I’ve ever had in my life! Incredibly rich. If you dine in they’ll give you a plate of pickles. I got a half sandwich and split pea soup and couldn’t finish either because the portions were large. When you arrive they’ll give each person a ticket and DO NOT lose it otherwise they’ll fine you $50 for some reason unknown to me.

Juicy! Scrumptious! Extra stuffed! These sandwiches don’t mess around you people. Have to try the famous pastrami one but everything is high quality. Cannot put it into words because it is a simple menu but packed with flavors and pastrami melts in your mouth, so it is a “you have to try it yourself” situation

I initially thought Katz's was overrated, but it truly deserves all its praise. The service was impressively quick, the meat was unlike anything I've experienced—probably the best ever. Plus, the beer was exceptionally flavorful. It is 24/7 open! Highly recommend!

You must come to Katz and have a pastrami sandwich! It’s one of those traditions that meets expectations. There usually a line but it moves fast. Everyone gets a ticket weather buying or not. You pick a line and on your turn you order and watch your order made. If you pay with t credit card move down. If you are paying in cash go by front door. They staple your yellow ticket to your receipt which you show on the way out. Everyone must have a ticket to exit otherwise it’s a $50 fee so hold on to it. Everything is good but the pastrami is a must.

The meat was so tender and juicy. I love the quantity that they give you! Can easily feed 2 people! The cucumber and pickles were also amazing. Also ordered the steak fries and it did not disappoint. Overall, it was such a wonderful experience! Will recommend anyone visiting NY to definitely give this place a try!

The time to wait for service was ridiculous. The waiter was a smart azz. He made a rude comment to the couple sitting next to us because the lady only ordered fries and a salad. "Who comes to a deli for fries and a salad?" He was also mad that his tip was not cash and made the comment, "Oh well. Let Uncle Sam tax my money to pay to put illegal foreigners up! They live better than us!" Who the hell carries cash these days??? Food is expensive AND overrated. I'll never go back again.

Had a good experince, expect to wait in line to order. One sandwich is big enough for 2 people and pickles are complimentary.. A pastrami sandwich, soft drink and fries is about $50. Don't lose your green card when there.

There is a reason this is a NYC institution and well worth the visit. The sandwiches are made with great skill and generous portions. The place was busy when we stopped in but service was friendly and quick. Got the Reuben sandwich and flavor was outstanding but I would have liked the bread to be a bit thicker. The latke (potato pancakes) were very well done and the steak fries were hot and fresh. Overall would recommend stopping in for the atmosphere and the food.

One of the best meals I had in NY! The hype is well deserved! Words can’t describe how perfect this food was and I cannot wait to go back. The staff were excellent, the wait time wasn’t too bad, and I wish I had more room in my stomach. They let you sample both the pastrami and the corn beef before you decide and it definitely changed my order. The matzoh ball soup was soooooo yummy and those pickles were top tier. A must visit for everyone.

Yes we went here because of the movie When Harry met Sally. Then I heard so many great things about their food. Well, their food is awesome!! We had pastrami and corned beef sandwiches and both were huge and packed with great tasting meat. My wife had the split pea soup and she really like it. My mother-in-law had motzaball soup and she said it was great. If I come back to NYC I will definitely make it back to Katz!!!

Go slightly before lunch time to try avoid the queues! Their Pastrami on Rye is very good. It’s $28 though! Luckily you can get half of it packed to eat later. There’s no way you can eat the whole thing. It’s be best to be shared with someone else. Worth trying.

I was just here for the weekend but googled seemed to think I would really like this place. It was right!! The pastrami was the best I've ever had and the bagel with cream cheese and lox was also top tier. My wife and I couldn't agree on which pickles were better so you should get both like we did. Will definitely come again!

We had the pastrami sandwich and bagels today, as per my boyfriend it’s the best pastrami sandwich he ever tried. I can only speak for my bagel which was really good!!! If you like pastrami you should really try this place. Be aware of not losing the ticket you will receive at the entrance as you will be charged for it if you lose it.

Will never be hungry again. Amazing brisket and thereby Reuben. Also the liver sandwich is amazing. Worth a journey. I see they used to serve bass beer - that would have been incredible if they still did. Maybe next time I visit. But their beer selection is more than satisfying

Great experience. Always nice to go to a place that’s left in such high regard and have it live up to your expectations. Ordered the pastrami sandwich as per the recommendation I received. Asked for a more fatty piece, great choice. A bit expensive, but definitely worth a try!

Several people had recommended it to us... 'the best pastrami in the world' they said. Once we got close to the place we could see that something was happening... the queue reached the corner and people kept arriving. Taxis stopped and even more people got out... We queued and once inside we were able to enjoy a stressful but at the same time familiar atmosphere. People lined up inside to find an empty table, while the various waiters served the entire crowd. Once we were seated, our stomachs found peace with possibly the best pastrami in the world! Totally recommended experience!

At first tasting the corned beef is better than the pastrami but in the actual sandwich, the pastrami is more tender. My corned beef half actually got a little dry and the meat a little chewy. I would suggest toasted buttered rye to add more moisture but I'm from Cleveland so what do I know. The Split Pea soup was ok but a little more season would've made it perfect.

This was one of the best meals we had in NYC. The lines were long but it didn’t matter, it was a great experience. Hold on to the ticket they give you, that’s how your meals are tracked. The cutters were great and they are super friendly. We ordered the pastrami sandwich, turkey sandwich, and a soup. The pastrami sandwich was amazing and is a must!!! Definitely make a stop here if visiting NYC.

Being a Mainer, I have limited restaurants for a true pastrami on rye sandwich. The meat was tender, juicy, and flavorful. With just the rye, I thought it was just amazing. It did come with pickles and mustard, which I did try with the last parts of my sandwich. Is it the best sandwich I've ever eaten? It's up there. Is this the most iconic US restaurant I've ever been to? Yes. And I can see why. You might need to wait a half-hour in line to eat inside. If you order ahead of time, you can go in and get it (meaning you can skip the long line). I miss NYC already!!

Not sure I can add anything that already hasn't been said about this place. My wife and I are visiting New York for the first time, she loves the movie When Harry Met Sally so we absolutely had to visit Katz's Delicatessen. Omg, the food was so good, the Pastrami was out of this world tender, I can't wait to go back.

I went there by Wednesday evening around 7:30. They give you a small card at the entrance which is important to keep that because you will pay when you want to go out at the end. I stand in the line for 15 minutes. I ordered a Pastrami. The meal is completely enough for two. The ingredient is bread with mustards and beef brisket. They give you famous pickles in a separate plate. The Pastrami is super delicious, fresh and juicy. However, it's a little salty for me (but it's the real taste of food and it's not annoying). The price for one Pastrami with all tip and taxes is $31.

Went during lunch hour, very very busy even during weekday. Ordering was quite slow as the they urge you to try the sample of each order. But the table is not that hard to find. Sandwich tastes really good. We like Ruben and another sandwich with house special sauce is really nice. The portion is too large to finish all by myself though.

Very intimidating at first, but you quickly get the swing of things. It was a cold, rainy day so I ordered the half pastrami sandwich with matzo ball soup. I loved the matzo ball soup and pickles, but the pastrami wasn’t my favorite…fatty and too rich for me. But, the portions are good sized. I was alone and finally found a table I could squeeze into with two other groups after walking around asking if I could join people.

Worth the effort to go here. Yes, it will be crazy busy. But, the food really is worth the wait and crowds. Share a sandwich unless you want leftovers. The pastrami was our choice and it was the best pastrami I've ever had. Simply served on plain bread with mustard. Simple deliciousness. We also tried the potato latkes. They were good. But, a distraction for me.

Neat place, excellent Deli sandwiches! But a typical sandwich will cost $27 and you'll have to stand in long line ups to get one. Lots of pictures of famous people visiting mounted on the walls, definitely worth a visit! Cash only!!

I would give this place 10 stars if I could. As a tourist, it was absolutely an experience. The meat slicer was super friendly and I love how they give you a small plate of samples while you wait for your sandwiches to be made. We got the classic pastrami on rye with mustard and we asked for a juicy cut. Every single bite was heaven!!! The sandwich was massive and they give you complementary pickles to go with it as well. My partner and I shared this between the 2 of us and we were both full. We went in around 11:30am so there was no line at all. Highly recommend!

Overrated and gimmicky. The food-- okay. Very expensive for what you get. We ordered a pastrami sandwich, 1/2 turkey sandwich combo with a cup of matzo ball soup, and a salami sandwich with 2 cokes. The pastrami and soup were good. But $20+ for a sliced salami sandwich (plain, just meat on bread) and $20+ for 1/2 a plain turkey sandwich and a cup of soup? Yes, they pile the meat on. But, $84 on lunch for 2 adults and a kid.... You can get much nicer meals for the same price at a million other places in the city.

Pastrami sandwich on rye bread with mustard was so tender & juicy. Absolutely mouth watering. No wonder this place is so popular with tourists as well as locals. Well worth the 10min wait in the queue to order. Staff are friendly. The place is clean. They also serve authentic NY baked cheesecake.

had the iconic pastrami sandwich on rye and it was great although expensive - just big enough to split between two people which makes it more worth it. comes with a free side of pickles too. note that the ticket system wasn't explained properly on the door - you get given a ticket which is circled with what you order when you order it at the counter, you then pay for what you had when you leave. if you lose the ticket there's a $50 (!) fine.

A must visit place to eat pastrami. The whole atmosphere was amazing, every detail had something to tell you. Now I know why everyone is talking about Katz's Deli! 13 days in New York and we visited 2 times 🤤 Marketing is an another level! Good jobs guys. Greetings from Greece 🇬🇷

One of the gourmet highlights of our New York trip! Such a unique, retro atmosphere with excellent quality food. We had the pastrami and the brisket sandwiches with dill pickles. My husband said this was the best pastrami of his life. We will be back for sure!
