Recently during my trip to NYC, I had visited, ‘The Halal Guys' yellow food cart, in Manhattan, New York, which is an iconic destination that lives up to its reputation. Renowned for their flavorful halal dishes, the menu features a combination of grilled chicken or gyro meat, rice, and salad, complemented by their famous white and hot sauces. Tried their famous gyro, a standout item on their menu, had delicious flavors and with the generous portions satisfying hunger. Despite the typical wait of half an hour to an hour, the experience seems well worth it. The efficient service is noteworthy, considering the high demand for their delectable offerings. The staff manages the long queues effectively, ensuring that customers receive their orders promptly. The wait time becomes a testament to the food's popularity, adding an element of anticipation to the overall experience. The awesome experience of eating The Halal Guys lies not only in the quality of their food but also in the unique atmosphere created by the bustling street scene of Manhattan. The food cart has become a cultural landmark, drawing locals and tourists alike to savor the mouthwatering gyro and other offerings. Overall, the Halal Guys food cart in Manhattan delivers not just a meal but an experience, blending exceptional taste, efficient service, and the vibrant energy of the city into a memorable experience. Highly recommended.

Delicious chicken sandwich, cooked well, perfect amount of sauce for everything, reasonable pricing, friendly abs positive staff :) Come earlier if you need to go somewhere afterwards as there is a line for the tasty food. Good point the staff is using the gloves while cooking, BUT touching the money at the same time. Not sure about the hygiene in this case, however, it’s a street food

I've been wanting to come to this place for quite some time now. I did not make the rain come between me and my combo plate. The line was shorter than expected because it was raining hard. I ordered the combo and the falafel plate. I was not disappointed at all. I would eat here every single day if I lived in NYC. This is a must try when you're visiting New York.

Finally, flew 7000 miles and got to try the famous halal guys platter. Luckily, there was no queue, but beware the lunch hour line which is super long. I went around 3:45pm and there was no line. The famous white sauce has a special tang flavor and it compliments the rice and meat mixture very well. Overall, the combo was yummy and satisfying. The hot sauce is quite hot, so best ask it separately. The staff are friendly and happy to serve the customer needs. The platter is $11 if paid in cash, and if one pays by card, there is a fee. Recommend trying the platter and find a peaceful spot to eat and enjoy.

The Halal Guys are now a national and global franchise. This is the original location, where it all began back in the 1990's. You can't go wrong with any of the food here. Eat to your heart's content as the price is very reasonable for the amount of food you get. It's solid halal comfort food!

Absolutely loved the kebab here! We tried the falafel as well. The sauces on top also taste great! There was a huge queue (I am not surprised at all). The food is so tasty. One of the best in terms of food carts in NYC. Definitely try it out if you are visiting the area. PS. Make sure to get as much sauce packets from them as you can they enhance the taste of the food.

Generous portions, great food, good price. It’s incredible how they get the meat so tender. Really takeout friendly. Ignore the other carts and trucks and make a b line straight for any halal guys cart you see.

Does it worth waiting in the line? YES! No doubt it’s a successful business. It provides good quality and healthy food with good taste. I absolutely recommend it. (I’m gonna try it again while I’m staying in NYC) We got the combo of lamb and chicken and lamb was really good. If you are not too much hungry, I would tell you that a regular plate is enough for two people!

Love it! Great for lunch, dinner, late night snack! Make sure you get extra hot sauce and I like to mix with fries as well! Noted: Pay first, make sure you pick up drink and fries yourself

Been hearing about this place a lot, so I decided to go to the original place (even if there's one in Jakarta). HUGE PORTION! I ordered a small mixed (chicken and beef) rice $7, and I couldn't finish it. The first few bites were great, but after that I felt something last lacking. The chicken tasted a bit bland, but was boosted a lot by the white sauce (make sure to ask for some extra). I then enjoyed my early dinner at Central Park. Glad I visited. Thank you.

There are so many Halal Guys stalls in NYC, including this pedestrian area, but we strived to find this most famous one, which is in 6th Avenue &, W 53rd St. I've tried Halal Guys before both in the US and Indonesia, but both of them were the ready to eat ones. That's why, I haven't seen directly the making process yet. So excited to finally see it here! 😄 When you walked in this area, you will smell the good aroma from the beef and chicken from Halal Guys stall. Just like the name, they serve Halal chicken, gyro, and falafel. Luckily, when we were here during the weekday and late lunch hour, there wasn't crowded at all. Since this is a stall, so there's no dining in area. Everything is for to go. We tried Chicken & Beef Gyro Combo. The big portion that is suitable for sharing among two people consisting of rice, beef gyro, chicken, lettuce, tomatoes. Mix them all thoroughly with the famous white and hot sauce. The hot sauce isn't that spicy. Recommended Halal food!

Everyone recommended trying this place and it was great! The food was amazing and the famous white sauce had an interesting tang to it and complemented the meat well. Eating in the cold of winter outdoors isnt too pleasant though so I’ll recommend going somewhere nice or bringing it to the comfort of your home to eat

Absolutely Amazing pick . Loved the food….Must try place, if anyone is visiting NY Times Square. Tried chicken combo and Veg Falafal, the food is not spicy but tasty with the Sauce they provide in yellow packet, but but you can add a red sauce and it makes your food super Hot 🥵 Try out if you love spiciness 🌶️

Best halal cart in New York City! The food is delicious and they guys are very friendly. Sometimes there is a huge line but even then the wait time is not too long because they are hard working guys and serve the food very quick. I love the white sauce. Be cautious with the red sauce, it is very spicy! For the price you get very generous portions. Highly recommend! Parking in this area can be tricky, but parking in the city is always difficult doesn’t matter where you are.

This Halal cart is quite close to Times square. You will find a long queue . That's the Halal cart right there. The crowd nevertheless moves fast so I can say waiting is not that long. The chicken over rice is good. :) The red sauce is damn hot. We wanted to try baklava but sadly wasn't available. The portion is kinda huge for a single person to eat (atleast for me) . Overall its a great place.

This is the original Halal Guys food cart. It is probably still the best tasting and freshest Halal food in its business. The guys working here are great as they do a great job interacting with the customers regardless how busy they are. We beat the crowd by showing up at 11am, when it opens. Overall, this could be a quint essential New York experience and it is a good experience.

The food is good as usual. The rice had a texture, and the meat was tender, free of unwanted parts. They are using the white and hot sauce packets now and it could be messy when you spread them. The guy would give you everything that was supposed to come with the platter. Anything beyond that would drive him impatient, considering the volume of the customers he had to deal with everyday, it is understandable.

Was very curious after hearing about it on a documentary on NYC street food. It is indeed one of the best places to eat in NYC. Totally recommend. Very tasty, big portions - even the small plate was more than enough for us- and also not too pricey. The white sauce/mayo is amazing.

Best food in Manhattan at a great price. You may need to line up and wait to order but that's because all the locals do the same and they know better than anyone. We stayed in a local hotel and I nipped down and brought up to the room. A fraction of the cost to eat in the Hotel restaurant.

The original halal guys cart. Unfortunately it was not as good as I expected it to be. I frequent a Halal Guys storefront in Atlanta and they have better tasting falafels and fresher white sauce. I will say that the portion sizes are awesome for the price, but Adel’s halal tastes better. I would go here again but just not to the cart (storefront instead).

It’s always a pleasure to stop by and pick up a plate and take it home or eat it on the go! If you haven’t tried this Halal food cart you are missing out💯😋👍🏻❤️

Dropped by Halal Guys a couple of times on trips to New York, always a solid option! Definitely a must-try for the New York halal cart food experience. The food is always fresh and tastes great and the white sauce is what makes it pop so make sure to load up your platter with plenty of it! Both the chicken and beef are flavourful.

Worth the wait to try this at least once. The gyro platter was delicious and a huge serving, so you can easily share it between two people. The prices are still super reasonable too given how popular they've become, and they're very friendly when serving.

The food is quite good, but not insane. $12 for a mixed platter (which was almost 2 meals for me, we very well priced). I think the gyro is better than the chicken. The line look around 15 mins at noon on a Thursday (September). They take credit card. Sauce comes on the side, and the hot sauce is quite spicy (but really good). May have to walk a few minutes to find a good place to sit and eat.

I was excited to check this place out in my trip to NYC but the experience was far from good:) After waiting in a long line, ordered a gyro and combo platters. First of all, they made a mistake and gave us chicken an combo. The gyro does not look like a mest and the chicken taste was not good. The best part was their white sauce. Would not try it again.

Such simple menu, but so well-cooked that it melts in your mouth. Generous portions that make up a perfect bowl of ingredients. The magic sauces are the secret elements that add to the overall flavor profile. We were lucky to not get crowds during the lunch hour but when we passed by later in the evening, we saw long lines. The people who serve the food are quite un-amusing and want you to keep moving, but who cares when you are getting such good tasting food! One thing we struggled with was a place to sit after picking up our food.

As a tourist from over 7000+ miles away, the food here absolutely blew my mind. The spice and the bowl is a taste you shouldn't miss. Be careful with the barbeque sauce tho, it's super spicy. But if you can tolerate the spice, its definitely a place you shouldn't miss.

The line was so long but moved up pretty fast. I got a combo platter and it’s so good! The white sauce is like mayo, adding the right touch to the platter.

At last, after years waiting, I finally made it to enjoy the legendary platter from the Halal Guys. I really enjoyed it and it's a must go for those visiting the Times Square area! Definitely returning if visiting NYC in the future. RECOMMENDED! 😋🍽️

We were a bit concerned about the line when we came up to the cart but were reassured by a friendly local that it was worth the wait. It definitely was! The line moves at a good pace and the combo platter was delicious!

Had to eat there twice in a row and simply the same best service. Super fast and high quality food for a super reasonable price. Ordered two combos which was beef and chicken over rice. Delicious! If your not a spicy eater please be cautious of there hot sauce, it's authentic and super hot, but again a really great experience in NYC. They are definitely a landmark to the NYC culture

Ordered: Gyro & Chicken combo plate (regular size) Total cost: $10 Dress code: N/A - takeout Review: Worth the hype! Would absolutely recommend! My husband and I shared a regular sized plate which came with pita, gyro meat, chicken, rice, iceberg lettuce, the famous white sauce and red hot sauce. The hot sauce isn't too spicy - we ended up using both packets for the single plate. The white sauce is a lemony garlic cream sauce. Both meats were perfectly cooked. Be aware, they won't be served piping hot. All in all, we loved the combo of flavors and textures. They do offer two sizes, small and regular. For us, the regular was the perfect amount of food for two people to avoid feeling stuffed and having to carry around leftovers.

Like all things in NYC affected by inflation, new price adjustment +$1 since April, Regular $10 and Small $8. Same no frills, original taste and fast service. Appreciate the transparency in pricing for you know what you’re gonna get as compared to other food cart in other streets without clear pricing/ menu.
