Family Meal at Blue Hill is a unique, fun and tasty place. Dinner is a menu-less experience that is in the spirit of a restaurant's family meal. The dishes are all made with locally sourced, seasonal ingredients, and the focus is on vegetables and grains, with meats playing a supporting role. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special dining experience.

This is what you want in an unpretentious finer dining establishment - focus on ingredients and techniques, pleasant service and a sense of innovation. The four course menu is really a lot more dishes because each course has multiple delicious items, and by the end you will definitely be full. Cocktail and wine menu is pretty impressive as well.

Highly recommend!! Everything was of top quality ingredients and tasted full of flavors. We chose the vegan and seafood sets to share. Could really tell the chef's attention to detail and creativity in the presentation and depth of flavors. They took our dietary restriction very seriously and nothing had refined sugar, including desserts. They created special yummy desserts made without refined sugar. Servers were all knowledgeable and friendly.

Nice experience, but not worth the price. Interesting bites. Favorite was the vegetable snacks up front. Squash dessert was not a great way to finish the meal.

They had us fooled when they served us each a single carrot as our 4 course meal started. But by the time we got to dessert, everyone was struggling to finish - we left VERY full and happy. We even got a special dessert in honor of our upcoming trip to Mt. Everest!

We have not been back for years. We tried the family style since this is the only option. The dishes are in the right size for 2 of us. But every dish is on the heavy taste side. I though we would get some seafood dishes but we did not. The dishes that we had are on salty side but the sever was willing to change it for us. Ideally the taste should gradually become heavier but that is the case. The sever provided excellent service. I would say I enjoyed the service than the food. The dessert is bad. Not creative at all. Chain restaurant can do the same dessert or better. To pay $100 per person I hope they can offer more since every table is having the same dish on the same night. We are disappointed!

I gave Family Meal at Blue Hill 5 out of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Quick story before my actual review; The first appetizer served - A single raw carrot with its leaf still attached!!! (I'm not joking, check my photos ) I almost burst out laughing, I felt like a fancy rabbit in a fancy restaurant, munching on my very own carrot stick! Bold move, Blue Hill, that takes guts! Thankfully, the rest of the meal was so delicious, and may i say... Just hare-fect ?!!!! Lmao 🥕🐇👌 Okay, review time!!! Pros: • Delicious and innovative farm-to-table cuisine that showcases the best of local and seasonal ingredients - every dish is a flavorful and creative surprise! • Thoughtful and knowledgeable service that enhances the dining experience - the staff is passionate about the food and wine, and it shows! • Intimate and cozy setting that feels like a special occasion - perfect for date night or a celebration! • Creative and well-curated prefixed menu that offers a journey through flavors and textures - a true culinary adventure! • From start to finish, everything was so fresh!!!! • Tip: dont skip dessert !!! • The menu changes constantly, so you'll have a totally new experience each time you visit!! Cons: N/A Follow me on Google for more ❤️

I couldn’t believe the couple next to us that complained about small portions. I was so full ! The meal was exceptionally detailed, starting from the best carrots I ever had in my life! The best part of this experience was that I didn’t expect any of the dishes. Usually, having researched the restaurant, I get what I expect from seeing reviews and pictures. Not here. They are truly creative with their menu. When I asked for a martini, they created one out of home pickled cabbage juice and habanero. It was so delicious. I cant say enough about the knowledgeable waitstaff who gave me an extra pillow for my back and shared his experience at stone hill. They are so humble and approachable. Away with table linens—this is the new way to dine.

Apparently there's a 22% "administrative fee", but it is under their "gratuity policy". It goes on to explain that this 22% "administrative fee" is NOT tips and is also subject to tax! Of course, this means one would still need to pay a gratuity. The fine print further explains that this 22% "administrative fee" helps to cover their operational costs. So, as a customer, I come and pay $350 for your food, then pay a tip to your waitstaff because you don't want to, then I'll have to cover your operational costs by paying an additional 22% fee?!

Family Meal was one of our favorite NYC experiences. The food is amazing! They highlight the vegetables and make them the star. I say this as a big fan of meat. John, our bartender, was super friendly and took great care of us. Grace also helped us edit our reservation when we got last minute tickets to see a Last Week Tonight taping. Overall our favorite meal in NYC and just a great experience.

Highly recommend making a reservation here! The family meal concept is now available for parties of two as well. I highly recommend the wine pairing to go with your meal. The price was decent compared with other Michelin stars in the city. Shoutout to Antanas at the bar who took us through the entire experience.

I am a vegetarian and so I selected their vegetarian menu and I was blown away. All of the fruits and vegetables were so fresh it was like I had never tasted them before. Their service was also incredible. They accommodated every allergy, they allowed us to order drinks off menu, and they even gave us a menu to take home. We went to celebrate our wedding anniversary and they surprised us with a delicious chocolate cake and gave us a candle. I can’t wait to come back! (Shout out to our amazing server Justin)

Creative and flavorful dishes that were light, yet filling enough, and packed with flavor. The ambiance is certainly upscale and the experience is elevated from the first bite or sip. I tried dishes I’ve never before seen on menus. It was a fabulous experience for a foodie! I really enjoyed sitting at the bar.

Have been waiting forever to dine here and it was worth the wait. Family Meal is an experience dinner that doesn't give you a choice for what you're getting! It's all locally sourced from their upstate farm and brought into the city day of. The fresh vegetables were what shocked me. Everything was so fresh and delicious. When we sat down there was a Brussel sprout tree on the table that ended up being one of our sides. My favorite part of the meal was the potatoes severed with the pork. The flavors were out of this world. It is a ton of food and it's $115 a person so it's a special occasion restaurant and hard to get reservations so make sure you're checking a month beforehand on OpenTable when reservations open up and snag your seat. We worked with Joy on our reservation and had Ally as our server. Everything was beautiful and I hope to dine again one day. #bluehill #bluehillfamilymeal #familymeal #greenwichvillage #washingtonplace #foodblogging #dinner #pork #vegetables #farm #nyccarbs #comfortmea

I didn’t think I would enjoy eating so many vegetables, but yet - here we are, me eating and enjoying. Blue Hill is currently serving up Family Meal. Prefix menu, everyone share the plates in the middle. I started off with a glass of their Syrah, which was indeed good. The waiter said he gave a “chunky” pour, which is a funny way to describe a pour so I had a good laugh, but indeed it was not chunky whatsoever… Enough with the wine talk, let’s talk about the courses. Pickled veggies magically appeared. It was a cleanser and tasty. Followed by bread with amazing dips. I held off as to not be too full. The stars came shortly after which were the mushroom donut and potatoes. Both, imho, best in class and creative. The one protein dish , which was pork, perfectly cooked, tender and juicy, accompanied by beans that were to die for. We concluded with some deserts which was rather lackluster but it did fill that portion of the stomach reserved for deserts. Service throughout the meal was top notch. Venue is relatively small, but that’s mostly true for many restaurants in nyc. They do have another location next to their actual farm which I would love to visit. Overall, a solid experience and I would recommend.

So deliciously amazing! We went here for our last dating anniversary before our wedding next year and they pulled out all of the stops, even set out this little anniversary card and brought us a surprise dessert at the end. Service was on point. We ordered the extended tasting menu. It was so good and I was stuffed by the end. My favorites out of all the courses was the asparagus and the duck. The duck was the best duck I have ever had, I always thought I didn’t like duck until I had this duck!

A taste bud experience! It was like they took our taste buds on a trip to mars! We loved it! It is a fixed menu at Blue Hill with two (kind of) options. We recommend getting one of each if you are with a friend. They bring out the courses on really raw, awesome looking plates. The food itself was heaven. Each dish was such a new flavor experience. There were flavors we feel we have never tasted before. Some dishes like the bass had a dill sauce that was one of the best things I have ever eaten. My wife said the chicken was the best chicken she has ever eaten! The dessert was divine. Blueberry pie was like a mousse with a crust so good, we could have just eaten crust pie! They served a mint ice cream with the smallest, most flavorful strawberries and blueberries I have ever eaten! Most of the food they serve is grown or raised organically on their family owned farm, which makes you feel ten times better about eating it!

I’ve bookmarked this restaurant for quite some time, because of the farm to table concept and Michelin star status. Walked in by myself on a weekday around 6pm. I was able to get a bar seat. I liked the decoration and ambiance. The ingredients were not that beyond imagination, but each dish was for sure cooked with creativity in mind. From the veggie & crudo to the bread to the grass-fed beef to the brûlée & ice cream dessert, everything was a pleasure of eyes and taste buds. If I were to complain, the wait between two dishes can be longer than expected, although not sure if it’s by design.

This was the best tasting menu I've had in a while. Clearly the main feature of it was the ingredients. The freshest, bestest, absolutely delicious, incredible flavorful vegetables (and other ingredients), and they use them in a very smart way. I also loved that the dishes were "simple". No foams, gels etc, just very delicious and flavorful food

The single best tasting menu I ever had, every dish knocked it out of the park, being both unique and thoughtful. And serving courses family style made the experience of fine dining with others all the more personable and intimate. And the service was spectacular as well with very attentative and knowledgeable staff!!

Family Meal at Blue Hill in New York City was one of the most amazing restaurants I have ever visited. Everything was farm to table except a special flour from Spain used in the bread. Course after course came out and each one was delightful. Each one used seasonal vegetables and fruits. One course actually had fish prepared two different ways. The service was exceptional. There was a full bar, great wine list and specialty cocktails. There is no menu, you eat what is fresh for the day. My two year old granddaughter was with us, and they offered to warm some milk for her! There was so much food, but no take out bags were needed. We ate every bite. Truly, the chef is an artisan and I will eat here again when visiting New York City.

It’s a good place, however I found the service to be sluggish. The food was fresh but the vegetables surprisingly had little taste. The wine list is extensive and the ambiance is laid back. Surprisingly I was not entirely enamored with the food. The fare is light and menus are made based on ingredients from their nearby farm, but it was simply not really that flavorful. Preparations were well done and portions were large.

An amazing journey through the culinary mind of a great chef! We were whisked away on the flavor express! The food was truly impressive! I still do not know how peas can taste that good! Everything was top notch, even the old fashioned! The ambiance matches the name, it has the feel of joining a family table run by your old friends! Truly impressive!

My party had a wonderful evening dining at Blue Hill, and I was excited to try the Family Meal as my prior dining experience was with the set tasting menu. Each course had a great selection of farm fresh produce, adequate portions, and light but comforting fare. We included the wine pairing and the taste and tale of each bottle were remarkable. Our servers were attentive and patient and the overall ambiance leaves us with a treasured memory of this meal.

I cannot say enough good things about Blue Hill. The food and team are just spectacular. We loved, loved, loved their "pop in" concept. The vegan menu was as per norm stratospheric. I love vegetables and they work magic with them to bring out the best in their flavor. Two thumbs and a happy belly and mind up!

I have tried numerous Michelin star restaurants and set course haute cuisine in NYC, yet Blue Hill family meal was by far the best and exceeded my expectations. The appetizers were creative, making me curious with the pretty plating, while surprising me with completely different tastes at the same time in good ways. In the main dishes, the eggplant was superb – nothing close to anything I tasted before. The pork dish was just perfect, well-balanced with tender texture and very tasteful. We were served several dessert dishes as part of the family meal, which was nice, but I was initially not thrilled as I’m not a dessert person. Nevertheless, I emptied all the dessert dishes. They were so delicious, yet they were not that sweet. All the dishes are great, but I must say the wine pairing was on another level. I felt like I was journeying through exquisite wine countries like Champagne, Burgundy, and Napa. The head sommelier was super passionate and introduced me to his perfect wine selections. The ambiance was also great. All the restaurant employees were super friendly. They all made us feel very comfortable and helped us enjoy the food, wine, and ambiance. I will definitely come back again when I visit NYC next time. Thank you!

After coming here before I was really disappointed on the family table dinner. It was OK but neither the food nor the wine was worth the price. The service was friendly but the time between the courses was uneven (such a long wait for the first course to come out). If you want a better blue hills experience I’d wait for when regular service comes back.

We came from Houston to celebrate our anniversary and had such an amazing experience that we’re considering making dinner at Blue Hill a yearly tradition! Such beautiful ingredients carefully curated with immense care and creativity. You cannot miss how much thought is put into every single dish. Service was fantastic as well!

We simply loved it Disclaimer - we've sat at the bar with a super friendly and professional bartender named Antanas who made the entire evening so much more entertaining 😃 If you're a big meat lover and your dinner has to be centered around a big piece of steak or poultry, then go someplace else. However, if you appreciate vegetables, their freshness and would like to experience them in new amazing delicious ways - do not miss out on Blue Hill! You're being served a 4 course meal which is imaginative and tastes amazing from start to finish. Of course, some dishes are better than others but they were all excellent. Compared to other fine dining, it feels like the portions are slightly larger and the cost more reasonable. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary so going for a nice piece of steak (that would have cost us half) wouldn't have been as special as visiting Blue Hill. Compliments to the chefs, cooks, waiters and our bartender - they were all extraordinary! Would definitely love to come back and try their farm-to-table menu in a different season...

Wonderful birthday meal at Blue Hill / Family table. Attentive staff and very accommodating of gluten allergy. Lots of delicious fresh vegetables across all courses - the salad and dessert were our favorite. Only thing that was a tad off was the peach rx cocktail - tasted like watered down mescal. Overall lovely meal and want to head up to the farm upstate.

One of the best meals I have ever had. The service was attentive without any pretension. The food was incredible - every flavor thought through with detail and there were multiple star dishes throughout the meal. We had some food accommodations and they handled that without any issue and made us all truly feel welcome - like they say, a family meal. From start to finish a meal to remember. We will be back.

The first time we went it was September this is important because they have a farm to table menu. We loved everything we ate. The second time wasn't as good in spring but was more because of our likes and dislikes that season. The spot is very cute and we will be back.

Just an incredible experience. The service is amazing and there's so much creativity and flavor to the dishes in every course.
