We
had
a
very
nice
lunch
at
Le
Coucou.
My
expectations
were
something
around
"elevated
brasserie
style"
and
I
was
indeed
pleasantly
surprised
to
come
across
some
old-fashion
bistrot
dishes
like
"pâté
en
croûte",
"vol-au-vent"
or
"baba
au
rhum".
They
were
all
solid,
and
by
nature
not
chic
or
sophisticated.
Some
other
dishes
on
the
menu
may
have
a
creative
twist
in
taste
or
presentation,
but
ours
were
just
classic
–
yet
enjoyable.
The
service
was
top-notch,
punctuated
by
several
little
attentions
for
my
husband's
birthday.
We
had
a
table
overlooking
the
kitchen,
which
we
loved.
We
stayed
until
3pm
and
we
appreciated
not
feeling
rushed
to
leave.
Overall
I
assume
most
of
the
disappointed
reviews
may
come
from
the
promise
of
a
Michelin
"One
star"
experience.
To
me,
the
restaurant
perfectly
met
the
Michelin
standards
and
definition
of
being:
"very
good
in
its
category".
But
if
you
seek
something
that
will
leave
you
in
awe,
and
dishes
you'll
still
remember
5
years
from
now,
this
might
not
be
the
place.
So
I
would
definitely
recommend
the
place
to
someone
who
is
briefed
on
the
concept
and/or
wants
to
discover
this
part
of
French
gastronomy
history
and/or
just
want
a
great
elevated
lunch
experience.
