The wait is not worth the food at all. I was quite excited about their extravagant milkshakes, but they did not live up to my expectations whatsoever. We ordered three different ones and all of the milkshake bases were flavorless. The cake on top of mine was also flavorless. The service is slow and the ambiance is horrible. The only decent thing was the burger, but you can get something just as good at any other burger place.

First of all let me say that my sister and I are huge foodies!! We make sure to try at least two to three new places everywhere we travel! The Black tap was definitely an experience however not someplace I would return to unless for a special occasion due to pricing. Also we waited over an hour outside in 40 degree temps before we were seated. They are however, taking the pandemic seriously and we were all asked to show ID and vaccination cards before being seated. I had the old fashion burger ($18.50) with cheddar cheese and truffle mayo, guacamole and chips($12), as well as the churro Chaco taco shake($17). The portion sizes for the entrees were generous ! Definitely shareable! My burger was perfect! The truffle mayo was absolutely amazing on the burger and for dipping fries. I was a little let down my the size of the guacamole portions though. They gave lots of chips but only a tiny cup of guacamole ( the bowl it was in made the portion seem bigger than it was) and what seems to be salsa verde(which was not on the menu as part of the appetizer) for $12 I felt as the there should have been more guacamole you get way more for a large at chipotle for half the cost. The milkshake was nother thing that was somewhat disappointing. It was almost all whip cream and barely any Cinnamon Toast Crunch or churro flavor. However the actual churros stuck in the Icecream were perfect and I loved that there was an actual chaco taco stuck into it as well! Portion size was great o split it with my boyfriend. My sister had the crispy chicken sandwich($18) with sweet potato fries (delicious), passion fruit lemonade($5) and a strawberry cheesecake shake($16). Again portion size was amazing! She shared her shake with her bestfriend and her shake was flavorful and did indeed taste like its name suggests, but the slice of cake on top was almost like a block of cheese. Way too thick to be enjoyable. He sandwich was crispy but juicy and the Korean bbq sauce was the perfect mixes of tangy sweet and spicy! The slaw was a little too dry for my taste but she enjoyed it! The passion fruit lemonade was way too sour. Being two island girls ourselves who grew up making passion fruit juice from the trees in our backyard we were definitely disappointed with the flavor. And the fact that it took over 30 minutes for us to receive it. However they did comp it from our tab! Overall (after being seated) the service was great! The mood was awesome and the the flavors were fantastic! I would definitely recommend experiencing this restaurant if you’re ever in nyc!

Four of us ate here last Wednesday and it was great! Burgers and milkshakes were delicious and everyone in our group thought the chicken tenders were the best ever. We asked them on the way out if they could accommodate a large group of around 20 on Friday night and the manger Greg said they would make it work and took my email to coordinate. We didn't get back to him until 5pm Friday night after the performance and then showed up at the restaurant an hour later with 11 teenage girls, their Broadway camp directors, and a bunch of parents! Greg and his staff were AMAZING!!! They were able to seat everyone, the food was great, the bartenders mixed up fabulous cucumber margaritas and hot dirty martinis for adults while the girls had so MUCH FUN!!! By the time we were leaving, staff members were taking selfies with the girls. I can't recommend Black Tap enough for everything, food, drinks, milkshakes, hospitality, and overall experience, they rock! I will absolutely stop in the next time I am in NYC and wish they would open one in Seattle.

Went there with a group of 6 around 10ish on a Friday night. There was a little wait to be seated but we didn't mind sice it was expected. The staff are super friendly and extremely helpful when it comes to service. It was our first time there so our waitress took her time explaining the menu. She recommended the Korean style wings as an appetizer and it was delicious! We ordered different style burgers to try out and this place nails it when it comes to flavors and quilaty!! The bison burger was my favorite. The sweet n salty shake is a must!

Having previously visited Black Tap in Dubai I was keen to return and see how the food compared in their hometown and I was not dissapointed! The menu has a fantastic selection and the burger I tried (Greg Norman) was superb. The crazy shakes honestly have to be seen to be believed and without doubt have a wow factor as they are taken through the restaurant. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5, service was slow. Slightly unfair as the restaurant was very busy....if they had more staff/more attentive staff they certainly could of upsold at our table. That being said, I would return as the food was so good!

First time at this Black Tap Burger place. We were warned before being seated that the milkshake machine was down. Kind of odd since they're known for their supreme shakes. DRINKS: We were going to split a milkshake but couldn't so we each got charged lemonades, which means they had vodka. They were tasty and easy to drink. FOOD: For apps, we got fried mozzarella cheese and crispy brussel sprouts. Both were so yummy. The sauce for the mozzarella cheese was delish. The mulberry street burger was goood as were the wings. The sauce on the wings was on the side. After we finished, we were told the milkshake machine was working again so we got the cookies and cream supreme milkshake. It was great looking and tasted amazing. SERVER/SERVICE: Our server Anthony was great. Was helpful about food choice and kept tabs on us , making sure we were okay. VIBE: It's a casual, chill spot. There's a bar area in the front. They have outdoor dining available as well.

Great place for a nice burger. If you like shakes they have a good offering that look delicious. Unfortunately my Greg Norman wagyu burger didn't leave room for dessert.

This place was amazing. The wait was relatively short and it was a comfortable temperature outside at the time which made it easy to wait. It was a little loud inside but it was also full, as you would expect. I got the Texan Burger and it’s solidly in my Top 3 burgers of all time. It was a great blend of flavors and cooked tastily. The fries were average but as a whole it was fantastic. We got the Sour Power shake and it was not only delicious as a shake, but the candy puts it over the top. I’m astonished that everything we had was well above average considering it generally gets press solely based on the insane shakes. When I come back to the city or near another Black Tap location, I will definitely be visiting once again.

The food? Great. The burgers my group had were amazing. The Milkshakes are out of this world! Seriously. It's pricier than your average franchise. So think Chili's or Applebee's but a little more $$. It's worth it though. We enjoyed ourselves. The only reason I didn't give it a five star rating is because the wait is similar to that of an amusement park ride; lengthy and uncomfortable. Still, that's reasonable for a restaurant in Manhattan, NY. It was the fact that my wife called to make reservations, and a certain manager never returned her call, though it was weeks in advance. I'm sure it was not spiteful. So no hard feelings. But we also had reservations that were unrefundable elsewhere. So the hour and twenty minute wait; it threw our schedule off. That's niether here nor there at this point. The staff were professional and top class. The establishment was overall good. Again, the food? ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. The wait time? Not so much.

An ok place to go to. Food and prices are decent. Don't be fool by their craftman milk shake, you barely get anything out of it as of shake. Most of them is whipping cream, candies, a piece of cake instead of shake. Get the regular instead you'll get most of it. Their shakes are delicious. Friendly staff need to show proof of vaccination so bring your card, or a pic of it or the excelsior.

The food wasn't bad. I want to get the bison 🦬 they don't have it. We ask for the hot dog 🌭 they don't have. They don't have the crab sandwich πŸ₯ͺ

These milkshakes are out of control. Visiting New York City for one day only and after seeing the pictures I had to make a stop. This is not a place for the feint of heart or small of stomach. A full milkshake with a sprinkle frosting rim topped with an entire slice of funfetti cake, covered in sprinkles, topped with whipped cream, then topped with a cherry. This bazillion calorie treat wasn't easy to finish, and the fact that I pushed myself through to the very end is a testament to just how deliciously perfect every single bite was. If you're near Central Park South and you've got a major sweet tooth or a bad sugar craving you can bet black tap will have just the thing to wet your whistle.

Had a longer wait than advised but the manager β€” a nice young lady whose name I can’t recall, and the waitress Amber were fantastic and made up for the delay. Food was also amazing. The receptionists do need some training as they were a bit crude.

Delicious burgers and fries. Crazy shakes. Small, intimate setting that can get loud when busy. Was busy during much of the open hours. Full bar with great draft selection. Friendly staff.

Amazing place! Line wasn't too bad at 6:30 (25 minute wait). The Norman Burger was excellent and of course the famous shake was amazing! The onion rings are good but keep in mind they're big onion rings and you only got like 6 of them; if you want something smaller to snack on get the fries.

Food was absolutely delicious!! I opted for the Back Tap Burger salad & my boyfriend got the all American burger. It was genuinely so tasty. The caramelised onions were just devine. It cost about $50 for two meals and 1 diet coke, including tax and a 20% tip. The service was also amazing, the waitress was so sweet and attentive. The decor is also very funky.

Wow! This place is a legend for their shakes and I know why now. Stopped by after work for a quick bite and a shake and boy was it a great idea. Was there on a weekday around 5:30pm and had no wait at all. We had the brownie shake and the cookies and cream shake. The cookies and cream shake tasted amazing. The liquid was so cookies and cream it was unbelievable. All the toppings and add ins were amazing too. I couldn’t even finish my whole shake. We also had burgers that were awesome but the shakes totally stole the show. The staff is super friendly and attentive. The hostess was busy and still friendly and seated us right away, same with our waitress, busy but friendly and on top of our needs. Certainly revisiting!

The crazyshakes were awesome! We just came for the shakes and it was an hour wait which makes sense for a Saturday. It works out that Central Park is so close as we walked around there till a table was ready.

Our waiter John was the best waiter I've had in years (not exaggerating)! Black Tap is lucky to have him. The vibe of the place is really cool, the food and crazy shake were pretty good, not spectacular either.

AMAZING burger joint. Food was perfect and service was great, shout-out to Hillary! She was on her A-game and made our visit super convenient. Shakes were delicious, we ordered the strawberry and cookies&creme. Great atmosphere too, 100% would recommend.

Food was amazing!!! Burger was delicious and their special sauce complimented it perfectly. We had the passion fruit lemonade as a drink and it was exactly what we needed. Our waiter Anthony was friendly and attentive and super helpful! We will be back!

Well, this place looks to be run by a bunch of teenagers. We called to place an order to go, but we were left on hold for 10 minutes. So, we walked to the place and we're greeted by a kid asking for our vaccine status...while wearing his mask below his chin. Customer service? They don't know her. We paid $30 for a burger and an extra order of fries. Was it worth it? Doesn't matter. We won't be back.

Stumbled upon this place while looking for a quick bite that would have vegan and gluten free options. Was not disappointed! food was excellent, drinks were potent but very tasty, staff extremely helpful and kind. Overall chill atmosphere away from the busy city. would come back definitely.

They don't do reservations so you arrive and are put on a list and are called when seating is available. The wait was less than half an hour. It's very cozy and the music was good (90s music), I was vibing with it so much I wished it was louder. The service was good and they were attentive. The food was good as well. The food selection definitely fit it's bar setting, chicken wings, burgers, onion rings, fries, etc. I went there for their famous shakes and I enjoyed that as well. The drinks were strong and delicious. The food did take a little while to come out, but I'll attribute that to the place being packed hence why there was a wait to begin with. I definitely intend to go back.
