One of the best Indian places I've ever tried. Pretty phenomenal. Despite what others may say, their "spicy" isn't very spicy at all. It's white people spicy. So, feel free to go wild and get the food with a little bit of spice.

Decent indian food but nothing special. The food was alright, we had the chicken vindaloo, which was quite spicy, but lacked flavour (I try this meal in most indian places that serve it, and here it was probably one of the most flavourless), and had no potatoes at all.. and the korma, which was a bit more flavourful but still not something I’d come back for. The service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was really nice :)

Simply one of the best Indian restaurants in the city! There are no reservations, only walk-in so expect a wait depending on the time you come. Pre-fix menu option is worth it to get a full tasting of what they have to offer. The apps are always well cooked, entrees really hit the spicy level I love and dessert was decent. You can also BYOB if you want to enjoy some drinks with your party. The staff are also very kind and attentive. Highly recommend this place!

I have very little experience with Indian cuisine. This is a good choice. Even though I ate a lot of hot and spicy food, I did not have any stomach problems. I loved it a lot. It was very delicious. Portions are large and prices are reasonable. Only the interior smelled too much. I can say this is the only minus point.

I love love love their food. I work across the street and treat myself time and again. The staff is very nice and accommodating. FOOD IS DELICIOUS, huge portions, I will eat for days off of one order-which makes pricing really very good. The Samosas are the size of a fist and the best I’ve ever had. The tandoori bread is also humongous and also the best. Ok literally it’s all the best. I don’t even usually really like mango chutney, but I love theirs! Wanna try the honey dumplings in rose water next!

Great food, decently priced and excellent service. Some highlights: A. Water served is at perfect temperature. Not as warm as you get in a non-refrigerated bottled water and not as cold as refrigerated water or ice water you generally get in restaurants. Also, the server was diligent about refilling our water glasses timely. Best thing was it was served in a steel glass. Being Indian, it’s a great homely feeling of drinking perfectly cold water in a steel glass. B. The curries had a slightly different flavor than you generally get in typical Indian restaurants in the US. They had more strong flavors, maybe of cinnamon and other rarely used Indian herbs. Definitely different than standard Indian restaurants in US, so a great one to try once in a long while. C. In appetizers, samosa seemed like freshly made and had authentic taste whereas the butternut squash soup had a slightly different after taste than you generally get after having standard soups. D. 5 stars to the service. Excellent and diligent.

Phenomenal food. One of the best-tasting Indian restaurants we’ve ever been to. On top of that, the service was outstanding. All of this, coupled with the fact that it’s in Midtown Manhattan and very reasonably priced is shocking. Definitely recommend!

Absolutely delighted to stumble upon this hidden gem! The culinary experience was truly exquisite, with flavors that delighted our taste buds. A word of advice: brace yourself for their impressive spice levels. However, despite the intense heat, our dining party had nothing but praises for this outstanding establishment. The Kheema samosa and the lamb curry were our favourites. We will definitely come back.

GREAT service & friendly employees. Generous portions of food with an authentic taste. I’ve been here 2 times by now and every-time I was very happy with the meal. My husband loves their ‘Lamb Vindaloo’. Will keep coming back! Thank You!

Amazing. The food here is delicious. The service is excellent. It’s a small restaurant. We beat the lunch crowd by 15 minutes. The line was down the stairs and on the sidewalk. We had popdum, butternut squash soup, creamed spinach with farmers cheese, tikka masala chicken and naan. SUPERB.

Took my friend here for her first Indian food and it was the best choice! Everything was excellently flavored and they're able to adjust the spice level of most of the dishes too. I highly recommend the lunch/dinner combos that will get you an app, a main, and a dessert. plentiful water refills were also very appreciated. Besides the food, the interior is also beautiful.

I went to this place because it was near my hotel and of the reviews and boy does this place deserve all these high rated reviews! The three courses for $25 is worth it and with a side order of nann bread, it will fill you up. The samosa, channa masala and the desert were all phenomenal and full of flavor! This place is not far from central park so after a long day of walking around the park, come here if you feel like some delicious Indian food!

Surprisingly cheap prix fixe option at $25 for an app, a main, and a dessert. For the app, I really liked the Keema (lamb) samosa, it was flavourful and tasty. They have a lot of options for the main dish, and I've tried the korma and curry dishes. I really liked the chicken korma the first time I got it, but the second time I wasn't as impressed. The spice levels also seem a bit inconsistent. The first time I visited, I asked for medium spice and it was really good, although quite spicy. The second time, I ordered the korma again and asked for "regular" spice, which turned out to be different from medium spice, because I could barely taste the spice and I thought the dish was a bit bland as a result. They have really interesting desserts, and while I was happy to try them, I wasn't a huge fan of any one of their three desserts, and I only had a few bites. Unfortunately they don't take reservations and there are sometimes lines, especially for larger groups. The first time I came here with a group of five for dinner, we waited 20 minutes. The second time I visited there was no line.

Love this restaurant! It's on the second floor of a building and it's kind of fun to make your way up there. The food is super authentic in it's quality and presentation. Love this little hidden gem for good Indian food! One of my top spots for Indian in this area. Would definitely come here again next time I'm craving curry.

Amazing food! I had the chicken makhni and the samosa. It was delicious. The naan was very good too. My friends enjoyed the dishes they had as well. This is THE Indian restaurant to go to in midtown. It is very small. There will be a wait, but it’s worth it.

What a great find! Have tried Indian food in multiple States and multiple countries and gotta say it’s hard to surprise me. Bengal Tiger was a nice surprise in every category - good portions, great selection, delicious food, good range of spice levels, comfy atmosphere (2nd floor small space w good decor) and normal pricing for a big city. Well done guys! Can’t wait to come back next time I’m in NYC

Not a good place to go. Stay away from this restaurant. I asked food to be mild and they made super spicy. When I asked about it they said it couldn’t be mild.

Really nice hidden Indian place. We went there for lunch and had their lunch menu. We ordered the Aloo Gobi Matar, the home style chicken curry and added some garlic naan. Everything was really good. Although we ordered medium spicy, we felt spicier than expected, but it was still good. The server kept coming with free ice cold water, which we really appreciated.

my husband and I ordered the 25$ deal including soup, man dish and dessert. the butternut squash soup wasn't good, a bit spicy and very watery. the main dish was tasteless and a small portion, as the dessert, which was probably the best out of the whole dinner. I was still hungry after eating everything. you have to walk upstairs to get inside, and the place is very small and crowded. the service was good and I liked the atmosphere but I won't be coming back.

Hidden place in midtown. Excellent Indian food for a great price. Staff is friendly and fast. No alcohol is served but the Mango Lassi is anyway better.

The keema (lamb) samosa was maybe the best samosa I’ve ever had! It came with only 1 but a large sized samosa, filled with juicy flavorful meat & peas. Such good flavor with the sauce. The chicken makhani (butter chicken) was good; regular spice level, or 4/10, was the perfect mild spicy level. Chicken was the tiniest bit dry inside and the rice portion could’ve been larger to match the chicken, but it tasted good. The rasmalai was delicious; again wish the portion was a little bigger but it was very good, and you can taste the rose and pistachio. The service is excellent, friendly and super fast with your order, and they refill your water constantly. Also love the paintings on the walls. The $25 3-course meal was perfect for two, only kinda hungry, people to split.

Got a chicken biryani. The taste was average I would say. Tasted more like a one pot rice, subtle and nice. Quantity is good for two people. Costs about $18.

Amazing Indian food tucked away in a cozy second floor restaurant. Great prix fixe deal, three courses for $25! Best vegetable samosa I’ve ever had. Highly recommend!

This is absolutely my favourite Indian spot in Manhattan. Stumbled upon it 2 years ago—it has a bit of a whole in the wall ambiance as you have to cross a narrow set of stairs to get to the restaurant upstairs, but the food is so so good and service is great. Waiters are prompt, you don’t wait long for your food, and you cup will CONSTANTLY be filled with water. Their lunch menu is an absolute steal—an app, main, and dessert all for $25! I got the chicken curry and my friends got the paneer dish—both were amazing. Will definitely continue to return.

Totally recommend!! The prix fix menu was awesome and the portions were great. Huge vegetable samosas. Really the best Indian food we've had in all of NY and NJ. The place is small but we came on a Thursday night with a party of six and only waited 20 minutes. Service is great too. Would definitely come back!

Great place for dinner! I've been there twice and totally will recommend. The food is really tasty, affordable, and the staff is really kind, they actually care if you ask for low or non spicy food. You may need to wait for 10-15 min to grab a table but it's worth the wait. I had the 3 course price fix and couldn't finish everything. All I tried was good and asked for very low spiciness, Keema samosa and the pakora are tasty and crispy. Chicken ticka masala and the lamb korma come with rice. I love their garlic naan and the MANGO LASSI is a must. For desserts I tried kheer. Still I have to say, even if it was not spicy and I didn't eat too much, I felt bloated after few hours and next day. But you know what always happens after Indian food.

I went there for a weekday dinner with my wife. The interior was excellent and the servers were very kind. We tried the 3-course prix fix. The food was good but I wasn't overwhelmed. There are a lot of better Indian food out there but it was great for the price. The food I chose was so spicy which the server warned me about when I took my order. My water cup was consistently filled by any passing servers which I really appreciated it.

Nice option for lunch if you like Indian food. I got the KORMA almond & cashew nut sauce, yogurt, coconut and a side of black daal. I thought that the rice accompanied the main was very small but they were happy to refill it without extra charge. The daal wasn’t amazing

Another casual Indian place in the city that I’ve heard from a few people! Reasonably priced and yummy, portion is a little smaller than usual but definitely enough for one person. A good place to stop by if I’m in the area, but I wouldn’t take the commute just to go there.

Took a co-worker for Indian cravings as it was walking distance from Times Square. The entrance to the restaurant is shady, you walk upstairs and then walk into the spot. Decent ambience, no AC. This is dry restaurant so BYOB. We ordered food after we cooled off a bit. Kofta kebab, lamb vindaloo and chicken korma. Chicken was decent, lamb was good but very spicy, food doesn’t have to be this spicy, they should at least have various levels of spice for those who wanna try vindaloo. Kofta kebab was garbage, it was like a boiled meatballs absolutely no flavor unless u dip it into chutneys. Kebabs aren’t made this way and are usually full of flavor. This was a decent spot 3.5, to satisfy the Indian cravings but definitely not an awesome spot. 🇮🇳

Delicious food and excellent service for very reasonably priced Indian delicacies in midtown Manhattan. We will certainly visit again.

The food was okay, not special. The restaurant is really small. The menu is limited. We ordered chicken tikka malasa (decent), the lamb vindaloo (too spicy), and paneer tikka (not recommended). The somosa and the tandoori chicken tikka was good though. Look at the pictures attached. Would i recommend? Probably not Also if you need parking, there a paid parking garage across the system

Conveniently located near the Moma and Central Park, this was our first lunch in NYC. The weekly lunch special gets you a ton of food, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The waiter checked our vaccine card and ID at the door, and we watched them turn away a few people who didn't have one or the other. The food was phenomenal, and I really wish I'd had more room to eat it all.
