Came here on a Thursday night at 7pm and the restaurant was at capacity. You definitely need a reservation for dinner. The food was great and the vibe was classy casual. I absolutely loved the tiramisu. They make it in front of you at the table and it was top 3 tiramisus I’ve ever had! I’d come back just to have it again

Italian is by far my favourite type of cuisine and I've been on the hunt for NYC's best pasta. Enjoyed the experience but the search continues. Overall excellent service, cozy and romantic atmosphere both inside and outside (heated and styled well), the burrata was super fresh and we loved the wild boar ragu - the green tagliatelle pasta was delicious. I was looking forward to the lobster pasta but it was a bit fishy tasting and covered in too much tomato sauce for my liking. I did love that the tiramisu was made right in front of us though and it was super yummy. I will be back to try the cacio e pepe!

We are Italian food fans, and we enjoy traveling the world trying some good Italian restaurants. We found Piccola Cucina randomly and we loved the entire experience. Great food, amazing service, and good vibes. Highly recommend it

Four and a half stars We generally enjoyed the food. We’d recommend the Sea Bass and Eggplant Parm appetizer. We give neutral to slightly negative marks to the side of grilled vegetables and the sardines. The servers vary widely in quality.

Honestly not that great of an Italian restaurant. It’s a pain that seating is all outside in blistering heat without any cool tents or fans. It also lends itself to have people coming up to your table that are not from the restaurant. The service itself isn’t great. Our water cups were left empty several times and staff never checked on us to see if we needed anything. They bring out complimentary bread, but they don’t even consider to bring enough pieces for the number of people eating. We were a group of 5, but they only brought out 4 pieces of bread. The pasta itself is mediocre. The pasta doesn’t taste fresh, and it is undercooked (not al dente). I had the langoustine pasta. A big langoustine was laid on top of the pasta itself, but it was a very small amount of pasta. It tasted fine but like something you could make yourself at home. Overall, this was just not a good experience.

Fist of all, inside seating is crowded, little table spacing. Second, mediocre food experience. We had swordfish as appetizer, hardly taste the original fish flavor as tomato sauce and mozzarella are way too strong; Lobster linguine is mediocre, unless you are a person of spaghetti or noodles very much, otherwise you had better choice to enjoy seafood/Italian food. To be honest, not impressed and basically don’t get the hype.

A really remarkable restaurant! I first discovered it’s Upper East Side location while working in that part of town and they had a great lunch special where I worked my way through the menu within a month. All of the pasta dishes are to die for. My latest endeavor was to their downtown location, which had equally delicious food (including an artichoke appetizer special that was stellar) though the street it’s in is more chaotic - so sitting outside isn’t as enviable. Still - one of the best Sicilian resturuants there is!

My partner and I came here on a Saturday evening sans reservation. Be warned, this is a very popular place so you’ll have to wait. However, the wait is definitely worthwhile. The staff is very friendly, and once you are at the table food and drinks flow pretty quickly. We started with the stuffed calamari. Then we had the sardine fennel and orange salad, a hit with my partner. It had a beautiful balance between the saltiness of the sardines and the sweetness of the oranges, I definitely recommend over the calamari. For our pasta, we ordered the tagliatelle with ragu and the eggplant. They were both excellent but if you have to pick—go with the tagliatelle. It was delicious and a perfect portion to share with someone else. Overall, definitely worthwhile.

A famous and busy Italian restaurant, but the staff will absolutely not neglect your table. The meatballs and raw beef slices are completely Sicilian in flavor! The ingredients for the two main courses, tomato sauce pasta and black truffle Italian dumplings, are very fresh, and the control of sauce quantity and cooking is perfect. The texture of the noodles and dumplings is also just right! Tiramisu made live in front of you. Overall, every dish is carefully made and requires skill!

Highly recommended! I found myself there by case, passing by for another purpose - I don't regret! I have worked in many Italian restaurants in my life (as a cook, waiter, manager),I have eaten in many restaurants around the world... I can honestly say - I have never encountered incredibly good food anywhere like here! Extremely pampered, spiced food made with passion and honesty! Big applause for the owners, chefs and the rest of the crew. You all contributed to the success of this restaurant!

The BEST Italien restaurant in NYC!! This is a real traditional and original authentic Italian restaurant. Loved the food. Loved the atmosphere. And super nice service. Definitely will come back.

One of the best Italian restaurants I have had in New York. At least three tables around us with actual Italian people dining … some of the servers seem to be Italian too. I’d recommend sharing all dishes… the pastas are very well served. We loved the truffle bruschetta, the stuffed artichoke salad is so good and the green pasta is amazing too… There are only a few restaurants we like coming back, this seems to be one of them.

Central location in great area off Spring St. We opted for indoor dining but the outdoor seating looked lovely and cute; looks like an equally good option, based on some reviews here. Indoor dining is well spaced with plastic separators between tables. Came here for weekday lunch. Very fair price for quantity and quality of food. Plus there are daily lunch specials. Got the grilled octopus with burrata and fussolini with langostine. Service was very consistent and attentive. Definitely recommend.

What incredible Italian food. I had the best eggplant parmigiana in the USA - so fresh and delicious. The food is so authentic, no wonder it’s hard to get in! Great spot for a date night or small group. It’s not a large spot … so prepare for an intimate setting. The service is incredible; very friendly staff took great care of our table. Highly recommend this spot!!

Solids pastas - gnocchi was majority fav but couldn't go wrong with any of the pasta choices as they were all delicious. We definitely felt rushed in which we assume is because there was a waiting line so the employees were trying to do their rounds. We were in and out in less than an hour so you can say they are efficient. But food is good so I would be down to come back just keeping in mind I probably will be in and out. Highly suggest getting the tiramisu! They make it in front of you

I have not been to Italy yet and going there made me feel like I was there. Cute little restaurant and I mean LITTLE. Very beautiful and cozy. Service was great! We had what they called the chef table so it was a bit tight; it was near the kitchen/food runner counter. The music was a bit too loud but nonetheless we enjoyed the dinner and planning on going back when they get white truffle back on the menu.

I came to visit New York expecting great food. I have only found average food at every spot until NOW. WOW!! THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!! I had the meatballs, my wife had the ravioli, and her son had the lasagna. I couldn't stop eating even though I was stuffed. Then the desert, OMG. I had the lemon cheesecake which was absolutely ridiculous and my wife had the tiramisu which they made at the table right in front of us. Heaven on Earth is what I call this meal. And thank you to the staff for helping us understand everything. Top Notch!! il miglior ristorante in assoluto!

Great food at a reasonable price. Appetizers were plated beautifully which enhanced the elegance of the meal. Food was delicious with great wine and bread too. 10/24/2023 Had the octopus again, it was again really nice, everything was great as last time, would definitely keep coming.

. Portions are great size and they even made pasta like my girls like it so that was a +. The setting was cozy and warm feeling even though it was freezing outside. Their attentions were spot on.The food is phenomenal. We stopped here on our cross-country trip. I'm just loving it, I would love to come again.

Went there in a really heavy raining day. Surprisingly the restaurant was still packed. Food was great and chief was there. The service is amazing, the staff wanted to redo our pasta when she knew other staff accidentally threw away the left take outs. Recommend to any one want to some good Italian food and vibe. Remember to book a table… they are really busy.

This was recommended by a italian colleague who is from Sicily, needless to say more. We tried several appetizers and pastas and found the food delicious, both comfort and elegant. The seafood is particularly good (sea urchin pasta, grill octopus etc). The lunch special is a steal, $11 for selected dishes. More than worthy. The outdoor seating is cozy with heater nearby so don't worry about eating while shivering. I can't wait to go back to explore the menus.

We ate like the gods. A magnificent entry octopus. Ravioli Raghu and Maccheroni Norma al dente pasta for main. Two excellent white wines washed down a dinner to remember. Excellent service, even with the restaurant full. Best restaurant in Soho!

I recently dined at this lovely Italian restaurant and had a wonderful experience! The maccarone and octopus dishes were both delicious and satisfying. The service was prompt and attentive, making the dining process smooth and enjoyable. The outdoor ambiance added a nice touch to the overall atmosphere. I look forward to returning soon for another delightful meal. Highly recommended for Italian food lovers!

My favorite italian restaurant in NYC. I’ve been here and Piccola Cucina Osteria a few times now and am always impressed by the food, service, and atmosphere. The pasta is so well seasoned with such fresh seafood. The service is amazing - the servers are always so attentive on keeping the table clean, making sure drinks are full, and ensuring the food comes out hot and fast. The atomsphere, though can be cramped, is very lively and fun. Especially beautiful on a summer day in NYC. Will be coming back here a million times more!

I ordered gnocchi and the ravioli pasta…it was super delicious and the service was also up to point. For dessert we ordered the tiramisu…they made it live in front of us. It was one of the best experience. It’s like experiencing mini Italy in New York City, I would definitely recommend to make a visit.

Excellent food, impeccable service. Cynthia our waitress was so sweet. The closest pasta I've ever had to my Nonna's without her making it. Amazing!

(They’re on Thompson street and not Spring!) Bright menus with buzzy/busy ambience. Came before the lunch crowd and food was served relatively quickly. Loved the fish and uni pasta.

This place was just okay for me just because I’m not a huge fan of Italian food but my husband is Italian and he absolutely loved this place. It’s very small and quaint. The customer service was amazing. Everything was made homemade fresh with their pastas and desserts. It was just okay for me but it’s not a really fair review as pasta or Italian food is not my most favorite. Based on my husband point of view it was amazing. The quality of the food was fresh and delicious. They had a pretty decent selection of wine and the tiramisu was good. If you like homemade Italian food then definitely dine here if ever in NYC.

I only came here for a glass of wine but the vibe of this restaurant is absolutely amazing! The food looked delicious and the servers were so incredibly nice and welcoming!! I even got a complimentary cannoli on the house! What a most pleasant surprise! It was divine! I’ll definitely be coming back to dine here! What a great place! Can absolutely recommend!

So I was told that this place is as close as you can get to real "Italian food" and Is the sole reason why I came here. The food is very unique and tasty & 1 entre with a dessert Is good enough to fill you up. BE AWARE that the place Is small and even If you have a reservation, you might have to wait. The place was a great experience with attentive waiters, and I would definitely come back again. Worth the hype it gets!

Unbelievably amazing experience at this Osteria. Not only did I love how cozy it was inside (you will sit close to others) I loved the service provided. The food was nothing short of some of the most delicious I've had in his city. The sea bass surprised me the most because I was not expecting the double piece of fish! So butter and scrumptious I've been dreaming of it ever since. The charged toast and sundried tomato spread is heavenly. I loved this place unconditionally!

If you have $25 to spend, want Italian food and appreciate rare dishes, this place is for you. The food is really good, but portions are a little too small. So you will have to ask for many breadbasket refills if you are hungry. The service is also very good. Our waiter was a bit anxious and removed the plates while the last gnocchi was still on the fork, waiting to become part of something bigger than itself. It kind of stole the gnocchi thunder.

The texture and taste of the octopus feet are very satisfying. I'm not sure if the bottom layer is mashed potatoes or egg yolks. The taste feels very good. The lobster pasta and pasta bolognese are also good. But I thought the pasta bolognese was a bit salty. Service was attentive. Dining here is a good choice.

This place was arguably one of the best places I have ever been to. When I tell you the food was delicious, it was beyond. The staff is immaculate, with such a good atmosphere. Me and my girlfriend both agreed that the waitress could’ve literally spit in our face and we would’ve liked the food. I will come here for the rest of my life, and I will recommend this place to EVERYONE. Great great great place.

Delicious lobster and shrimp pasta! The sauce was very creamy and the pasta texture was great. We even got an anchovy pasta on the house though too bad we didn’t like anchovy as a group.

Wonderful hospitality and powerhouse flavors. One of my favorite pasta dishes on this trip, Pasta alla Norma, the Sicilian dish of pasta tossed with tomato sauce, sautéed eggplant, and ricotta salata. We ordered salads to-go for brunch the next day -- loved them. We eat too fast to grab presentation photos. Loved the stuffed artichokes and the bruschetta as well.

Came to NYC for the first time in my life and visited the restaurant twice during my one week stay, almost enough said with this! As a serbian, i‘m used to eat quiet often dishes from the southern european cuisine, but the flavours they bring on here, just blew me away! Had a small talk with the staff, pretty friendly guys and with the small size of the restaurant, you get the feeling of a very welcoming atmosphere.

If you want authentic Italian food look no further. This place is like being in the Homeland!!!!!! Service is by far more than 5 stars!!! So do not pass go do not collect $500 just go there. You will be thanking me and for years after you will be thinking about your meal that you had there.

10/10 Hidden gem in the city! They have 3 locations and opening a new one. Their pasta is even better than some of the trending spots in the city, service is always the best! Sebastian is always attentive, friendly and takes great care of us!, Pastas are delicious, desserts are incredible, they make a table side tiramisu that’s the perfect end to a meal, the lemon cheesecake is lemony and fresh and the cannolis are better than Arthur Ave (IYKYN). Such a special little place.
