Great bowl of noodles even when compared to those you get in Japan. The pork belly is soft and flavorful. Order a side of the chili crunch and that goes really well with the noodles. Staff are really friendly and will let you know what the daily specials are. The standard items on the menu are very good and you should give those a try first.

The garlic shallot noodles were fantastic, so much flavor in them. The smoked chicken wings were a great appetizer, and my partner’s garlic chicken ramen was great too. We got there at 6 on a Friday and were able to sit inside after a short wait. Very friendly service! One comment is that it was very hot inside.

Went solo as a walk in and was lucky to get a seat at the bar (place is small). I loooved the ramen. Update: went once again, this time with my partner, and it was still very good. This time also tried the garlic chicken ramen and it was not as good as the smoked pork. Service was attentive and quick.

Delicious food with a busy and lively atmosphere. We were sat at the bar and our server was really friendly and despite the restaurant being full he was very attentive and very quick. We ordered the spicy tuna, which was actually a bit spicy and really delicious, the smoked wings, the brussel sprouts, which, and I mean this is the best way possible, tasted like a big mac, a chicken and a pork ramen. The egg in the ramen was perfect and the chicken broth was amazing. It was really busy for dinner on Wednesday night so I would recommend booking.

We had dinner reservations here during Christmas week. The family members we were with had eaten here pre-pandemic and raved about their fried chicken with Caviar dish. Upon arrival they checked our vaccination cards and ID. Then they seated us at our table. This spot is tiny. The chairs are trendy and uncomfortable. It's basically a bunch of backless wood chairs. Having a party of 12 squeezed into a table. We were literally on top of each other and couldn't move. We had to place our coats on a table behind the host desk. They didn't even have a coat place. I would expect a little more for a restaurant in NYC. We ordered appetizers, ramen dishes and the Osetra Caviar & Fried Chicken dish. The "Black Truffle Rice Cakes - butter, chives" appetizer was so good! I highly recommend ordering this dish. The Mushroom Ramen - miso, toasted chili, pea shoot was alright. There were not many pescatarian or vegetarian options. So this is all I could really provide a review on. My husband really enjoyed the Smoked Pork Ramen. He thinks it's one of the best dish. My kids really loved the Garlic Chicken Ramen. Apparently, the big hype about this place is the fried chicken served with caviar. I didn't get to enjoy the Osetra Caviar & Fried Chicken dish like everyone. They stated that due to the pandemic they couldn't serve a whole fired chicken like before. So they served pieces of chicken. It just seemed like they went and got a bucket of fried chicken from KFC or something. The Caviar came in the containers they were purchased in. I honestly didn't see the big deal about the fried chicken and caviar. I tasted the caviar and wasn't impressed. My husband didn't think the chicken and caviar was worth the price at all. Our table couldn't even finish the dish. How I see this place, they should really just stick to the casual neighborhood ramen joint. The clientele seemed to be neighborhood locals. The staff are dressed in t-shirts and jeans. The furniture and decor is minimal and modern. However, the price point is up to $500 for a menu item. I just don't think that jives well.

While objectively pricey, Noodle Bar actually serves interestingly unique options for a ramen place including their shrimp baos and their fragrant pork broth soup! It’s not your typical ramen spot which makes it a good place for any food enthusiast to check out.

Casual Tuesday dinner Oct. 2021; friendly and helpful staff got us seated without a wait at 630pm. Pork and lamb buns are large, juicy and flavorful. The Extra Spicy Pork Ramen lives up to its name - experienced spicy diners only for this one.

My first Momofuku experience. Was really excited to try the ramen here. Firstly we ordered a good selection of appetizers to share. Cucumber salad, tuna crudo, shrimp bao, deep fried chicken wings. Everything was amazing and the chicken wings are really large. The serving staff at our table was really helpful to inform us if the dishes ordered was enough or too much. Then of course we had ramen and spicy dry noodles - loved it. . Reservations is required as the restaurant is always busy. 5 stars for the food and service.

This is still amazing after all these years. First visit in a while, we got kimchi, shrimp buns, spicy lamb buns (special), chicken wings, and we each got our own smoked pork ramen (and I added a bunch of chili oil to mine). The shrimp buns are a must -- I debated getting the pork belly buns, but there's pork belly in the ramen and that probably would've been overkill. The lamb buns were great too but not so much my wife's thing so I'd be fine trying something else if these were still around next time. The chicken wings were a last minute addition and incredible -- definitely would get these again. And the ramen was amazing, still very much elite in the city in my opinion. We'll be back, hopefully sooner this time.

Amazing food! Their pork buns are one of the best I've ever had. Their chicken wings are unique in flavor and super juicy. Would highly recommend their chicken ramen. One of the best chicken ramen I've ever had!

This was a bucket list stop for me while in NY. I was so disappointed in the food. It was beautiful, and came out quickly. Just disappointed is the flavor or profiles. For $120, we felt it was over hyped and over priced. The staff was amazing and loved sitting at the bar chatting with them.

Great ramen and great vibes. David Chang makes great food no doubt about that. Food came out fantastic. I would recommend getting a reservation off of Resy. I had one for 8pm on a Saturday and I was able to sit a little earlier at around 7:45pm. The tables are pretty close to each other so the servers need to sort of squeeze between two separate parties to give food to the far end of the table. Will definitely be back for more!

The food's decent, but they are a bit sneaky with the special menu. Every noodle dish is about 20 dollars, but when you go to order, suddenly there's this "today's menu” that is not on the menu, but introduced by the staff only by words. I picked the black truffle noodle while chatting with my wife, and he didn’t mention it was a 50 dollars. I mean, who'd guess it'd cost more than double the regular dishes? Feels like they're pulling a fast one.

I always enjoy dining at Momofuku, mostly because the service is great! They always seem to add a couple extra items. You can’t beat that. Not to mention the food is always delicious. I had the smoke pork ramen a $21 and the pork belly buns - $15 Check out my dark and somewhat blurry photos. That’s all for now. Dined in December 2022

The standard that other NYC restaurants should be compared to, like what a Porsche Cayman is to the sports car segment. Best modern take on Ramen I’ve ever had. LOVED and v impressed the shrimp katzu hand rolls. Restaurants like this are why I used to live in NYC. Glad to taste that they still have it.

Excellent food and is worth a visit. The smoky pork ramen was a bit bland for me, but the off-menu extra spicy pork ramen was the da bomb, super spicy while still being flavorful ( warning: it’s 11 spicy levels over 10). We found it to be a strong seven if you're experienced with a proper Asian level of spice. Pork belly bun, mushroom, daikon, kimchi, all good. Reservations open up 15days in advance.

Beautiful dinner! We sat at the bar and got to watch the chefs at work, was very cool seeing them carefully put everything together. Noodles and cocktails were delicious!

I've been coming for eight years and it never disappoints. Check the specials. Get the cucumbers alongside your ramen for a refreshing side. Get the cold noodles to go in the summer for the next day.

AMAZING 🤩 I got pork belly buns and extra pork belly in my ramen and it was sooo good. They cut really thick slices and it’s so flavorful. The ramen was great overall, but the pork belly is what really stood out to me.

Yumm WOW. The chicken ramen and the pork ramen are heavenly. My daughter said if she ever had to choose a last meal it would be momofuku garlic chicken ramen. We sat at the bar looking over the kitchen... great spot.

I've been waiting to come here for a long time, and I already can't wait to come back! I managed to walk in around 10 pm without a wait or reservations. So good, especially for the prices. The noodles are cooked to perfection and the ingredients are so fresh. I got the spicy lychee frozen drink (not shown), which was also fantastic. The ramens are spicy, so be aware (I loved it). The toasted cashews alone are unlike anything my mouth has experienced. Also definitely recommend the daikon and jalapeños. There's also someone perpetually walking around filling water cups, which I greatly appreciate as an intense water consumer. 10/10!

Absolutely amazing food, fast, accurate, friendly service. The atmosphere was very food focused and the small menu was filled with foods that were very carefully prepared. We got the seared shrimp buns and they had patties of crisp minced shrimp beautifully seasoned with spicy mayo and lettuce. Delicious and a real change from the usual pork belly bun. We also got the garlic chicken ramen and the smoked pork ramen. The garlic chicken was redolent with garlic, a rich chicken bone broth, and excellent chewy noodles. The smoked pork ramen had luscious slabs of pork belly that were beautifully seasoned, smoked, and then seared and caramelized on the edges. Both bowls had piping hot broth, chewy flavorful buckwheat noodles, and amazingly creamy hot spring eggs.

Had a delicious dinner here. We booked our reservation two weeks in advance. Just be aware that even if you do this, they may seat you at a shared table like we were. I suppose that's to be expected given the small space and busyness of the restaurant. We had the pork bao and the pork ramen. Both were delicious and had a good amount of meat. Definitely worth having again!

Birthday dinner, we ordered the Thai chili wings, pork buns, shrimp buns, smoked pork ramen, garlic chicken ramen & mushrooms ramen. All were fabulous! The tables are a bit close together, your back is right next to the person sitting at the next table, and if someone needs to get up, it would be a hassle for everyone and both tables. The wait staff was courteous and available. I would eat there again.

Went during Valentine’s Day. Had their special menu items of uni toast and truffle rice cake. Unpopular opinion but I enjoyed the side dishes over the noddles. I got the smoked pork ramen and idk it just wasn’t for me. Service was great though!

The pork buns were great, a bit steep in price though. Also seemed a bit dry and bland. Some more hoisin on the side fixed it. The caramelized white chocolate pie was to die for. But such a small meal set me back more than $30.

Had the diy sushi which was cool and very flavorful. Spicy tuna was on point. The chilled spicy noodles were also interesting with lots of flavor (too many peanuts though). However, the smoked pork ramen was a big disappointment, broth didn’t have much flavor. Have had many better ramens.

Happy to eat here for my first Momofuku meal! We ordered the pork buns, a spicy lychee slushie, extra spicy pork ramen, and the spicy cold noodles. We were warned that both these noodle dishes were spicy when ordering, but they weren't nearly as spicy as expected. The ramen was super clean and light, which I preferred to typical fatty ramen. The ingredients, and especially the noodles are high quality. The only downside to the meal was the spicy cold noodle dish, which was actually served warm and overloaded w/sausage bits + candied peanuts (pretty weird, and there were so many!). Overall, very good and worth it. Excited to try other Momofuku restaurants in the future.

The kimchi side is excellent, all the ramen is wonderful, but tbh, the pork buns should be why you go. I've had friends say the experience changed their literally lives. It's well executed, perfect flavors. Don't get them to go though....they need to be eaten while the belly is hot and the buns are at their softest!

Soooooo delicious! Everything was amazing from start to finish. We loved how casual the restaurant was, like a Japanese izakaya, the perfect neighborhood spot. The service was fantastic, very friendly and attentive. Can’t wait to go back!

Broth you could bath in! I’ve been a customer for 10 years, the quality is always top notch. Pork belly buns melt in your mouth, garlic chicken ramen, cool staff as well. Sit at the counter and watch them cook.

If you are thinking to come stop reading this, go! The food is made in heaven. Loved it. Easily one of the best meals in my life. Fresh ingredients, perfect combination, explosion of flavors in your mouth…Cozy place, not as many servers like in Majordomo in LA, but they are friendly, attentive and knowledgeable.

Great service and a cute shop! No line for early lunch. Tried the pork ramen and it was NUTS! Especially the pork and broth. Wow, like I get the hype. Buckwheat noodles were good. There’s a bathroom here and very nice service.

We were in the city for two days, and this place had been on my list for a while. I’ll be honest, I thought I was going to be blown away by the noodles here - and while that didn’t exactly happen, I still thought they were great. We got the buns (had to send one order back because the bun itself was hard, like it had been out too long) and two orders of noodles - one with the mushroom base and the other traditional pork. The pork belly here is excellent, some of the best I’ve had - and the mushroom based broth is honestly some of the best I’ve ever had, and I’ve tried a lot of vegan ramen. Everything was flavorful, just nothing really jumped out at me as exceptional. Would also add that it’s expensive (might come with the territory in NYC, but I live in SoCal and thought it was pricey even compared to that.) Would love to come back and try some more when I’m in the area, but I think there are better noodles out there.

Love their starters, the pea one especially, they had an amazing special as well with baby corn. The ramen is rich and flavourful, all in all a great place to go when you wanna leave full and happy.

  • 4/5 Michelle Y. 8 months ago on Google
Second time here and the food was wonderful as expected! My friends got the pork ramen while I got the mushroom ramen, which I really think is an underdog in the menu! The miso broth is something I really enjoy, such a thick and savory broth! Make sure to get reservations to ensure seating, as this place is really popular. I did feel a little rushed towards the end of the meal, as the waiter just threw the check onto my table and kept trying to collect it even though I had been clearly busy catching up with friends.

I’ve always wanted to dine at one of David Changs restaurants & I finally did. It was a late night decision with my wife. She was craving ramen & this was just the spot to do it! We were seated promptly at the bar. It was quite packed at the dining tables & someone was having a birthday dinner. The interior was very nice & clean. The bar seats were comfy and our servers were fantastic. The menu isn’t vast - which is nice. Usually means quality will be good! Appetizers: Buns (Pork Belly), and Smoked Chicken Wings. -The Pork Buns were delicious! Moist and flavorful. My wife wanted more of these but held back because the ramen was next. -The Smoked chicken wing were delicious! The sauce it was drenched in was just perfect. Garlicy but not overpowering. I wanted more! Main Course: Smoked Pork Ramen & Spicy Garlic Pork Ramen! I was warned it was very spicy. -The Smoked Pork ramen was phenomenal! The broth was the star! Flavorful / Umami! -The Spicy Ramen was divine! If you love spice this is it! It wasn’t crazy mouth numbing. It was the right kick with flavor. Dessert: a very rich and decadent caramelized white chocolate pie. Nuff said. Staff: Super Friendly. Everyone was very nice & welcoming. They explained the dishes (if asked) & they enjoyed their jobs. I saw them making sliders. I was curious & they mentioned it was for some pop up that happened the day before & the left overs they were making for the staff & they celebrated 18 years since opening. Real nice. I will be back for the wings and the pork buns!

Thanks to Buzzfeed -Worth it episodes we got to put Momofuku on our bucketlist for NYC! Food was really good! Pork buns were nice! Pork ramen had good flavor. Chicken ramen broth could use more flavor in my opinion. Service was very good! Staff was very friendly. Every time somebody walked in or out, the cold draft entered the restaurant as well. Guests are not paying attention to the doors. Staff tried to close the doors but they are too busy to keep the doors closed. Maybe that they can find a solution for future guest experiences. Really nice 1st impression as soon as you walk in. Nice decoration, simple easy and warm design. Not too much like hipster places back home in Amsterdam!

Delicious food, fun vibe, and great service - what else can you ask for! Came here with a large party and they sat us immediately. We ordered a few appetizers but the chicken ramen was the star. Will definitely be coming back soon to try out other options on the menu. Highly recommend!

The best dining experience I’ve had this year so far. The service from Brian, MY GOD!!! I couldn’t even put a napkin down before someone grabbed it. The open kitchen is such a great exhilarating experience to watch as they dish out the meals. Their bowls of ramen is now one of my favorite in NYC period. I can see why this place gets the hype it DESERVES! 10/10, would highly recommend! My favorite was the “Smoked Pork Ramen”.

  • 3/5 Sinping K. 1 year ago on Google
We came in with high expectations since the reviews were raving - all the ingredients are very fresh, egg was cooked perfectly, chicken was nice and tender. - service was great, though the bar space was tight, it wasn’t a dealbreaker - my only issue was: SO SALTY. Everything was incredibly overly salted, I struggled to finish my meal and it overtook the flavors of the fresh ingredients, which was a huge letdown It was fun to try a hot spot. But probably won’t return.
