The reason for the poor review isn’t necessarily the food or the service, but their unwritten policy of automatically adding an 18 percent gratuity to the bill and when confronted admitting that they thought we were tourists! That makes it right? I will gladly tip and tip well but the amount that I tip and if I tip should be my choice, I don’t even know if it’s legal to automatically add a gratuity for two people. I don’t see any sign it’s not written on the menu nothing on the wall! When I approached him ,he said oh we can take it off. Both the waiter and the manager admitted they do this to tourists. This native New Yorker will never patronize this establishment again. Thanks for giving New York a bad name. Trust me tourists not every establishment is like this. Don’t let one bad apple ruin the bunch.

This is our go to restaurant in midtown and today did not disappoint. We went after a broadway show and had a reservation. We were greeted by the host and seated promptly. All of our servers were friendly and attentive. All of our meals were excellent. We had the caprice salad, fried mozzarella for appetizers. For main courses we had chicken Parmigiana, rigatoni with vodka sauce and Chicken Fantasia all of which were excellent. I would highly recommend Trattoria Trecolori for a great meal at reasonable prices.

I stopped in here on a whim before a show across the street and so glad I did. I was just looking for a quick, light lunch. I was able to get 2 seats at the bar. We ordered a few appetizers and dessert. The charcuterie was fresh and had a great selection of meats and cheeses. But the real star of the show was the frutti di mare. The service was excellent and so were the prices. It was clean and cozy inside. Highly recommend!

Ordered the Martini Veal, and it was so very good. We had no reservations, so we're seated at the bar, but we had very good service nonetheless. The draft Peroni needed a little attention from the deft barman. However, they were a great accompaniment to the veal. Highly recommended, I would definitely do again.

This place is amazing!! I came here with my boyfriend and his family. There were 9 of us. I ordered linguini alfredo and it was soo good. Definitely the best alfredo I‘ve ever had from a restaurant. My boyfriend ordered some lamb chops which were also really good. His family all loved their food. This place is pricey but it‘s definitely worth the money.

Food was incredible, the crab and red snapper ravioli special was out of this world. Chicken marsala was well loved too. Service was great from the second we walked in. Will definitely be back

Delicious Italian! Bread, butter, oil, and balsamic vinegar is provided for the table, and you can ask for more bread if you run out. The chicken parm was really good, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. It’s really flat but good! The Alfredo is nice and light and tasty. We added chicken but it tasted burnt so we didn’t eat it, and they took it off our check when we mentioned it. Someone in our group asked for just spaghetti and bolognese sauce and it was no problem for them to provide it although it wasn’t on the menu. Tiramisu is homemade, light, and delicious! The wait was an hour when we went around 5:30pm on a Sunday, and the restraint was loud while they were busy, but mellowed out as people left. Great atmosphere and great food!

Incredible experience at Trattoria Trecolori. Amazing service and atmosphere. The food was as good as it gets for Italian food in the US. The rigatoni was excellent. The chocolate mousse cake was fantastic. When I come back to NYC, I will do my best to return!

Enjoyed a spectacular, soul-warming dinner here at 8pm on a Sunday without a reservation - the place was buzzing, but we still didn't have to wait to get a table. You can taste the freshness and care in every dish. This is Italian food done right - bringing out the exquisite quality of simple ingredients without needing to be overly fussy. Service was wonderfully attentive.

Anscheinend typisch für New York.

A great restaurant in the heart of the theater district. The staff was friendly and the food from bread with oil and balsamic to the main course was terrific. They even have Italian beer and wine. Each meal was amazing and reminded me of meals in Italy. Cheers to the staff. I will be back again. Thank you for making our visit special.

We were in NYC for a day and decided to go to Traytoria Trecolori for dinner. The whole experience was amazing. Beautiful decor and the food was so, so good. Hubby ordered the soup of the day which included muscles in the shell - exactly like how they serve muscle soup in Italy. The drinks were good as well. Our waiter made the entire dinner fabulous.

The food wasn’t amazing but that was okay. The store was much bigger than I thought after I first entered I realize there was so much space further in. I got the calamari, magsinore, and risotto. This store had pretty good value because the portion sizes were huge and also they gave a lot of squid - lightly fried. However, I do have to say I had to ask the waiter for more lemon for our calamari, hoping that the calamari could have some more flavor. Slightly slow on service, and wasn’t quick to refill water but they were quite busy. We were actually really full just from the bread and appetizer so I ended up packing my risotto to go.

Delicious, authentic, and quick. I stopped by and had dinner at the bar. The server was very friendly and prompt. While the restaurant was extremely full, my food arrived surprisingly quick and was delicious. My drink was well made and I appreciated that the bar staff kept an eye on me if I had questions, but didn’t intrude.

Normal Italian food, better then some big famous Italian restaurants around, not better than some other Italian restaurant around. If you just want to eat, it’s a good choice. Prices are fair. I’d even say that for the location midtown it was a bit cheaper then other restaurants we went. Food was simple but tasty enough. Service was fine. We booked a table for 7 in the same day, for a quite late (9:45 pm) time, because we came from a Broadway show, so we needed to order the food quite fast, because we were informed the kitchen was closing. I believe they close early so it wouldn’t be my option to come back after another Broadway show. Nevertheless we had a good diner time.

My husband took me here for our first anniversary dinner. The vibe and atmosphere was great. The server was very attentive. The food was good, but it was not as great as I was expecting. I'm a pretty tough critic when it comes to Italian food, and I was hoping that it would be more authentic. My husband got the carbonara, which he loved. And I got the Gnocchi. It was still good! Just not amazing.

I had lunch here with some friends on a Thursday at 1:30. It was already full when I arrived. They were very nice to seat me before my party arrived. They didn't rush us out like a lot of places this time of year. I can't fault the service, top notch. My problem was the food. It didn't wow me. I had the pappardelle. I found the meat on the dry side and came out warm not hot. The cheese didn't melt so it was hard. There wasn't anything on the menu you wouldn't find at any other Italian restaurant. Prices were what was expected for the area.

Convenient location, delicious food and reasonable prices. We had meat Lasagna and squid-ink pasta ( I don't remember what the name is). They both were amazing. The pasta came with a lot of seafood. The pasta sauce was so yummy. No condiments needed. Highly recommend if you visit Time square area.

Great pasta and risotto, and also a wide range of selection for cocktails, beers and wines! I would recommend the Risotto Del’ Giorno the most! It is filled with lots of seafood and the sauce is creamy and refreshing with tomato sauce. I would also recommend their beer as it is rather cheap and comes with a reasonable portion. The service is pretty good as well, we had a good time having dinner at the bar seat. The price is not cheap but still reasonable though (30-40 after tax and tips for a dish). Still a recommended restaurant near Time Square :)

Great food and big portion! I really liked the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. The sauce wasn’t too heavy and the chicken wasn’t tough. The only thing I wish was better was the butter for the bread. It was solid and cold and not easily spreadable

Well, my family went to this restaurant before a broadway show excited to share some cocktails and food. However, our experience was over priced and lack luster. The manager is completely unaccommodating and old school. He argued back and forth with my family about the cocktails that we sent back to the bartender. The cocktails were actually disgusting to a few members of my family so we ended up sending them back. The waiter put every single cocktail from the inexperienced bartender that we sent back on our bill. The waiter has no integrity nor does the owner Jean. Jean begins to tell us that it’s “his” policy. One in which we demanded to see written or proven. Maybe on the website or posted on the restaurant. He came up with no truth and didn’t believe ours. He mentioned verbatim “ I have never had any complaint about the drinks before”…which I believe is a lie. The bartender was barely of age! Plus they never asked for our IDs. After all of that he brings us two bills… the original with all the cocktails that we did not drink and then the second a bill $100 plus more because they added gratuity. We told him it was illegal to change the original price of the bill because of a complaint. He gave us back our original bill. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. The atmosphere is too busy, no diversity(tourist, no native New Yorkers) and the food was mediocre at best. I’ve had way better as a brooklynite. Way more untiring Italian hotspots than this thief.

We arrived close to 4pm on a Wednesday. We were seated immediately. The restaurant was well staffed, staff was friendly, responsive and respectful. The food was amazing! Being vegetarians, we ordered pasta with mushroom. Both orders were delicious. We had Tiramisu for dessert, it was light yet heavenly. Would definitely return.

Have to love a straight up Italian food restaurant that gets it right. We stopped in tonight for dinner and had their chicken parmigiana and special of the day, ravioli del Giorno. Chicken Parm (with spaghetti) was crispy on the outside and just right inside, great sauce and cheese and the plate sizing was on point. The ravioli with its "pesto"-esque sauce was very tasty as well, and new to both of us. It really worked well and the flavors were rich and very good. The tiramisu for dessert was delicious and light and fluffy. The sorbet was a somewhat odd combo of coconut, mango and raspberry, and wasn't my favorite rendition. The raspberry had an odd flavor at first, then seemed to morph a bit into almost a medicine-y taste. The coconut was sort of a Pina colada type of flavor. The mango was good, the best of the three imho. Overall, really excellent service, very nice dinner, recommend, just perhaps a different dessert than the sorbetto. The core, most important dishes were really great!

My dinner was just ok. The service was good. Bread and side of fries were good. But I feel like there are better Italian places aplenty in NYC for this price point ($22 for this underwhelming tortellini)

Excellent restaurant for Italian food in Times Square. The staff were excellent very friendly but were not over zealous during the meal. The gratuity was included in the final bill already so that was nice. Food was very reasonably priced but 4* as I felt the beer was a little on the pricey side. Food was top notch though. Highly recommended

This place has great vibes, you're thrown in the middle of New York and Rome vibes. The food was good, the interior was nice and clean, but the service takes this place to another level. Decor-simple accents remind you you're in NYC, but also give you a sense of a Roman restaurant. Service-the staff here are amazing. They are very attentive and serve you with a smile. You could tell they take their job seriously and it shows. Food-we tried the chicken Alfredo and Chicken parm sandwich. The Alfredo sauce was creamy, cheesy, and tasty. The chicken parm was very good, the baguette type bread was soft and moist on inside and the chicken was very flavorful and tender. I would've liked a bit more sauce, but still great. The portions are good and you leave full.

We decided to celebrate my wife's birthday at this restaurant before heading to a Broadway show, and it turned out to be an incredible dining experience. The food surpassed all expectations and can easily be considered some of the best I've ever had. From the mouthwatering Fettucini Alfredo and Gnochi with homemade noodles and sauce to the heavenly tiramisu and lattes, every dish was simply out of this world. Carlos, our waiter, along with the rest of the wait staff, provided impeccable service, showing great attentiveness to our needs. Without a doubt, we will be returning to this restaurant when we visit again.
