My father worked at this hotel for 20 years, so I decided to take him to enjoy a nice lunch at the restaurant. The service is immaculate and the food is heavenly. He even got to see a handful of old work friends. It was a beautiful fine dining experience that everyone deserves to have at least once in their life.

If you are looking for a top shelf stay in NYC and are willing to pay the premium price for it, go anywhere else. The Pierre kept letting me down at every turn. From the room being not as advertised, the concierge "never receiving" my requests, to a shower than they could never seem to get working right despite three "repairs", to management that couldn't seem to care less that I was being let down. My family usually gets a suite at a 4 or 4.5 star hotel when we visit New York but this time we decided to splurge and get a deluxe suite at The Pierre. I've never felt like I've wasted so much money in my life. Disappointment after disappointment. The only people there that seemed to care about their jobs were the doormen and the elevator operators. The front desk, concierge, and management all had the warmth of a popsicle. This place is clearly coasting on it's reputation and location. If you're considering The Pierre, you'd be much better served staying at a different 5-star hotel. And before the GM responds to this review (as he does to all other bad reviews) that I can reach out to him directly, I did. As expected my email was ignored. Location is good, though.

This is the view from my executive suite. Upon checking in, the manager was missing and the front desk staff were unable to help (I needed to break a 100$ bill). I waited for 15 minutes with my 2 year old falling asleep on my shoulder. When the manager finally arrived, he didn’t even apologise. We have travelled in from Europe, are jet-lagged and asked for an espresso machine - standard at any good 5 stars hotel. Not here. We asked for it 3 times, when they finally responded they informed us that it would cost 50 dollars to have it in the room. Completely unacceptable for a luxury hotel, which this clearly is not.

I stayed with my family at the Pierre by Taj for three days. I got to say that this was truly a disappointing experience: There is a weird smell all around the hotel. The quality of the food at the breakfast was subpar and the staff serving clients there were not very nice. It felt like we were bothering them when we would ask the simplest questions. On the second night it seems like the cleaning crew confused my mother’s nightgown for a dirty towel since we could not find it after going out that night. We we brought up the situation to the front desk, they barely apologized. It seems like they did very little effort to locate the missing item since they would not give us any update unless we would mention the issue. At the end they were not able to locate it and it is now lost… Finally on the third night we asked if we could check out at 2 pm instead of 12 pm, since our flight back home was later on the next day. They accepted. But when we came back at 12 pm our rooms were locked with our luggages inside, without any warning. When we explained our situation to the front desk it felt like they were barely believing us and the receptionist had a very dismissive tone throughout the whole conversation. To conclude, although the location of the hotel is great next to central park the weird smell, the dismissive staff and the fact that they lost my mother nightgown and the expensive price leads me to conclude that I would not recommend that hotel to anyone. There are hotels around this area which are of the same standard and are way better.

From the hotel’s website, social media and even the photos in the hotel lobby, one could think The Pierre is a place with a lot of celebrities coming by, Broadway stars performing in the hotel bar and glamorous parties in the famous Rotunda happening daily. It may be due to the still on-going Pandemic, but sadly, during our visit, the hotel bar stayed empty the whole week, closing at 10 pm, and the beautiful Rotunda is generally only bookable for private events, nowadays. That is why sometimes we felt a little bit “lonely” in a mostly empty hotel, bar, and a lot less spectacular and glamorous lobby, than we would have expected (and you get, for example, in the nearby Plaza). What we truly enjoyed – and that is one of the USPs of the hotel – is the great view on Central Park. So, when you choose your room, be sure to choose Central Park view; the standard rooms are facing less likeable directions with views against stone walls of other hotels or just the street – and without the view, it definitely would not be worth the upscale prices. Also, we were pleased by the overall fantastic service: Hotel reception, Room service (especially!), Concierge Service, bellboys – everywhere we faced smiling faces and very helpful, friendly people. The rooms are – besides from the great view – equipped with very classic interior, some could say a little bit old, but still okay. A bit more storage space for all our clothes would have been nice, and the bathroom is a little bit small, but the rest of the room – the bedroom itself – is therefore really big. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much and it was a great experience. But in compare with other five stars hotels, especially in Europe, it is perhaps a bit overpriced for what you get.

This is the absolute best hotel to select for opulence, service, location and privacy. Regarding high-tea, top of the list in NYC. Elegant, tasteful and fresh! The service and ambiance is 5 stars! It feels similar to The Dorchester in London. The staff is very attentive to your every need.

I recently had the most amazing stay at The Pierre, A Taj Hotel, in New York City. Let me tell you, this place is pure luxury and a true treat for anyone visiting the Big Apple. The location of the hotel is unbeatable. It's right across from Central Park and all the great attractions in the city. The hotel itself is absolutely gorgeous. The lobby is so elegant and welcoming and the service was top-notch

Overall a good hotel, the building is an iconic place but should have some renovation. The ladies at the elevators are great. Rooms are very clean. Rooms they don’t really at the park even if you pay the park view. For the same price you could take a better hotel in NYC.

Please note that I am writing this review solely in reference to the restaurant/bar - my friends had never been to NY before (they are from the west coast) and prior to walking around Central Park, we decided to grab a drink nearby. We walked into The Pierre and immediately realized that we were out of place, definitely not dressed for the occasion, but the restaurant staff welcomed us with open arms as we asked to grab a drink at the bar. We ended up staying for a few drinks because the bartender, Sergio, was so unbelievably pleasant. He was personable and humorous, and respectful of our space yet willing to engage in conversation whenever we wanted to chat with him. Sergio and his drinks were a highlight of their trip! My partner and I live in Westchester and cannot wait to go visit with him again.

Once one of the best hotels in town, now it’s way overrated and living off its past. Rooms and Lobby are visibly old and dirty with stains on the carpet everywhere. We reserved and paid for a park view room just to find out that the room’s view is of the city and very very partially of the park (although they charge almost 300$ extra for the view), the bathroom was ridiculously small and outdated furniture. I remembered the Pierre for its service but that was probably the worst delusion. We tried to have breakfast one of the mornings we stayed there and it could not be worse. After waiting for 20 minutes to get a table, we were repeatedly rushed to order and leave the table. When we said it was an unacceptable treatment, we were told by the arrogant waitress that she didn’t have time to lose. This was to me something that goes beyond being unacceptable (considering the cost of breakfast for two of more than $100). Hopefully we managed to have a proper breakfast with an amazing service at the Carlyle few blocks from there. Will never return to the Pierre!

This is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in at this location. We come here once a year for the football game, and stay in the city for 2 nights. Last year was the plaza, the year before was the trump, and so forth. We were expecting for this hotel to be at least a little bit on the other hotels level but I was mistaken. The rooms are small, even after upgrading to a suit it was still disappointing. The water has a weird smell to it, and the air conditioning was a joke. The beds are uncomfortable and hard. If you like small, out of date, weird smelling, trash air conditioning, then this place is for you. Will not be returning to this dump.

We are here at the Pierre this weekend for my daughter’s 9th birthday adventure. Our stay has been nothing short of amazing. Pierre the Penguin from the front desk was a hit, the elevator operated is so kind and engaging with my daughter, the room is out of bounds beautiful and the surprise birthday cake was the cherry on top. Thank you so much to everyone here on staff for the special weekend, you made us some seriously special memories.

Certainly! Here’s a review of the Pierre Hotel in New York, highlighting its excellent gastronomy: I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Pierre Hotel in New York, and I must say it was a delightful experience. One of the standout features of this hotel is its exceptional gastronomy. The dining options at the Pierre are truly top-notch. Whether you’re craving classic New York cuisine or international flavors, you’ll find a diverse range of culinary delights to satisfy your taste buds. The hotel’s restaurants not only offer delectable dishes but also provide an elegant and inviting ambiance. I particularly enjoyed dining at [mention the restaurant name if you have one in mind], where I savored some of the finest dishes I’ve ever had. The talented chefs at this establishment are truly masters of their craft, and it’s evident in every bite. Additionally, the hotel’s room service is prompt and offers a menu that caters to various palates, making it convenient for guests who prefer dining in the comfort of their room. Overall, the Pierre Hotel’s commitment to providing an exceptional gastronomic experience is commendable. It’s the perfect choice for food enthusiasts looking to indulge in culinary excellence while enjoying the luxurious surroundings of one of New York’s iconic hotels.

Unfortunately you are only paying for location. The room are dated, noisy and the house keeping staff slam and bang doors and make so much noise from early morning to late at night so don't expect to get much sleep. Christine is the stand out staff member at this hotel. She was understanding and very professional. Everyone else was forgettable. Not worth the price for the rooms. I feel ripped off completely and it has left a bad taste in my mouth and wallet. Will not be returning or recommending to family.

Everything about this place is so elegant. Every detail, from the large ornate doorknobs to the soft paper hand towels is somehow an elevated version of the real thing. Service is wonderful, the flowers were fresh... I could go on for a while because whoever designed this place is obsessive. I had to work at this hotel for 2 ,14 hour days. I never tired of all the details in the wall paper, the textures, and the different shapes of crystals in the many chandeliers. When the apocalypse happens, I will live here.

First you must know this is a 3-4 star hotel and DEFINITELY NOT a five star hotel. It’s very old and rundown inside. The room we have is ok but definitely old and everything looks like it’s made for senior citizens 70+. Charging the prices they do is robbery. The minibar smells like mildew. Staff is friendly but service is meh. We will not return to this hotel again.

Excellent location at the beginning of Central Park and 61st Street. Easy access to the Queens Borough Bridge and FDR Expressway. Best bang for your buck! Their staff are awesome! Especially their doormen, Mohammed, Peter and Gregory!

Worst hotel expertise ever. I paid for my room in full 3 months in advance so my family and I can have new years holiday and once we arrived we learned that our rooms were given away. The offered no help and had to fight for 2 days to get my refund approved and it cost us double to find something similar. Worst hotel experience ever plus the place is completely old and fun down and all highways smell like smoke.

Very bad service! I was charged an extra 600 dollars when I checked out, I accidentally saw it at the airport on an extract from my bank! I called the hotel at the reception and said wait, maybe we will return within a week! No one corrected the mistake right away! So far, the money has not been returned! At the entrance, the concierge is not helpful, not as it should be in such a 5-star hotel in the center of New York! There are no slippers and bathrobes in the room. Breakfast is only in the room, so I went to the neighboring hotel The Plaza for breakfast, everything is fine there and the restaurant is open for breakfast!

My family and I I recently stayed at the Pierre Taj hotel in NYC.((August 2023). We had a wonderful experience, right from the welcome by JC at reception till the checkout by Crystal. Fantastic rooms, personalised room service, great location at the entrance to Central Park on fifth avenue. Breakfast was delicious. Would certainly stay here again when in NYC.

If I could give the Pierre hotel a million stars I would. This is the best, most iconic, fun, best service, most personable and beautiful wedding venue in the country. Before getting engaged, my husband and I went to a wedding at the Pierre. I was a little sick that day and only knew a handful of people at the wedding and at the time it was hands down one of the most fun weddings we had ever been to. We were so in love, we knew that day when we were to get married the Pierre was going to be our venue. The Pierre and the team beyond EXCEEDED our expectations. Mark, Sage and Chris are the triple threat- never once said no to any of our requests. We couldn’t be more impressed with them. Martha, omg. Martha was the most helpful sweetest human being we had the luck of working with. She was amazing at helping coordinate the rooms, day of requests and everything. There wasn’t a single thing this woman didn’t think about. Then there is Ashfer, let me tell you..There is good wedding food then there is THE PIERRE HOTEL FOOD. This guy is a machine. I am Brazilian and he even made me Brazilian brigadeiros that were better than local Brazilian ones. We loved him. The ENTIRE team is amazing. The doorman, the captains, Mrs. Kaedy the elevator operator had every single one of my bridesmaids and family cracking up as they walked into my suite. Every single person in the team beyond exceeded our expectations. Our friends and family are in AWE of the pierre and how amazing our wedding was. The new ball room is the most beautiful venue in the city. Every single one of my vendors were so happy to be working with the pierre. If I could go on anymore I would, but there is a limit of words I can use in this review.. so thank you Pierre team for making our wedding dreams come true. It truly was the best night of our lives and we are so thankful to everything the team did to making sure was day was perfect.

That was my first trip to NY and my first stay at this hotel. What can I say - I’m in love with NY and I think mostly because of the hotel staff and the service. Each and everyone who works there is incredibly amazing. It was such a pleasure to stay there. The hospitality of the personnel is outstanding. From the managers and chefs to servers and housekeeping staff. I felt like I was back to Europe again but so much better (west coast is sooo different ☹️). The hotel building is beautiful, the food is delicious, the rooms are clean and the service is just perfect. I could’ve literally spend the whole day describing every minute of my amazing experience at Pierre hotel. I definitely would love to comeback soon. Thank you guys!

This hotel is truly top notch. From the moment we arrived the doorman, bellman and deck staff were welcoming and very helpful and kind. Our room was amazing! We were on the 38th floor and had a view of Central Park. Our room was very clean and very comfortable. Our housekeeper was so kind and sweet. The turndown service was a great added touch. The hotel restaurant is an added bonus. The waiters and staff are great. We also had room service one night. The waiter that brought us room service set up the table, poured our drinks and set up the food. It was perfect. This hotel is in one of the best and most convenient spots in NYC. You are close to Central Park, great food and shopping. I very much would recommend this hotel and we will be back. Thank you to Kevins and Dawa. You both made our trip unforgettable.

The Pierre, possibly ranks amongst the best in terms of making sure its always a home, away from home. For someone who’s been staying for several years, more than a decade perhaps, its a stay that always leaves a great flavor behind the concierge undoubtedly must be the best in the world and, the recent heavy lifting that did for a lost package is something, that needs to be reminded, to all those who are looking for a good concierge. Thank you and see you soon.

JEAN could not be more helpful and accommodating while guiding me through my options for my reservation! I'm attending a wedding there and Jean helped me find the best options for my stay! Could not be happier with the Pierre's customer service and even more excited to attend the wedding there! Thank you Jean, love you!!!!!

Overall a very nice hotel and would recommend. The room was amazing, the view over Central Park was great, and the maid staff in particular were brilliant. My only complaint about the hotel was the bellman standing and watching me load my bags into my taxi as I left without coming over to help; I would expect more at any hotel, let alone such a prestigious hotel that does so well in all other areas.
