Probably one of my worst hotel experiences. The room product is terrible. The staff is uncaring and have a lot of attitude. The rooms are extremely small and cramped. The bed is tinny and is literally wall to wall and stuck to a corner. We had no windows to the outside. Just a view across into other rooms. Felt like a prison cell. Not to mention that the room had a very strong smell of bleach. Once you lay your head down on the bed, the toilet bowl is literally 1.5 meters away from your nose. The gym seems to have been an afterthought and placed in the basement. No showers, changing facilities. Very life style hotel which is great but the staff should have some respect when speaking to a client. I asked to speak to the manager about my room and that I was unhappy and mentioned it twice to the staff and no one contact me back. I was ready to pay to upgrade to something bigger but no one contacted me. If you’re paying 130-150$ then go for it but I paid 400$. Really disappointed.

This is a very hard hotel to review, since it has some great bonuses but fails some of the basics. First, the rooms are pretty small. This would be OK, except they use space a bit... oddly. The wall hanging pegs are useful, but the sink being outside the bathroom is... weird. If you're not very comfortable & close with your partner before sharing a room here, you will be at the end! Frosted glass on the bathroom (featuring a crack that can be accidentally looked through) ensures minimal privacy. There's also no coffee etc facilities, and the rooms can be EXTREMELY noisy at night. The "weed world" across the crossing plays loud music until 1-2am most nights, and added to the street itself you'll need to be a deep sleeper to cope. On a more positive note, the $30 amenity fee can be used at the GREAT cafe next door, which made up for a lot of the issues we had with the hotel itself. There's also quite often free candy / fruit / water in the lobby. Finally, the location is pretty good for the centre of town, but not ideal for the subway / travelling further.

Moxy is very near time square . The rooms are tiny but cute. Fits easily 4 people . So many things to do at the hotel. And they provide you so many things as well. And there is a very cute bar on the top stairs. This picture is from the bar upstairs. And they have something different every time I’ve came

rooms are tiny and so ugly. when I go to a hotel I am looking for the decor to be cozy, sexy, modern, inviting. these rooms are none of these things. cheap and ugly decor, tiny rooms. this is what i think a clean jail cell would look like. I just can't get over how ugly and cheap the decor is. the bathroom looks like something out of a YMCA. this is advertised as a boutique hotel. a boutique hotel room should be inviting, comfy, trendy. this is none of those things. bed and bedding feel cheap. absolutely no view. no room to work, no work station, no desk. more then 1 person per room would be very uncomfortable. no space to store luggage, no fridge, no closet. Pros are location is good, friendly staff, cute rooftop bar. I would not stay here again

Travelled from Ireland to NYC and stayed here for 4 nights. Our stay was very enjoyable, we booked a Queen room and it was more than enough space for 2 people sharing. Bed was comfortable and the shower was very nice. There is shampoo and conditioner in the shower and a hairdryer which is handy. Staff we dealt with were all very helpful. When checking in the lady at the front desk asked did we want a floor higher up as they had a resident DJ who played late on the 3rd floor, which was nice to ask as we would not be party goers! There is a TV in the room which has Netflix and YouTube but you must have your own account to log in. The only let down for us was the breakfast. It was just a small section in the lobby with oranges, water and some muffins etc. but there are lots of great places for breakfast around so we didn’t mind too much. There is also a $80 dollar deposit held on your card until you check out also so be aware of this when booking in.

Definitely not for everyone. Its's fun and hip with easy access to Times Square. Nice bar and public spaces. As noted by others, the rooms are TINY even by NYC standards. The first room we were given had walls on 3 sides of the bed which means you have to crawl over your partner to get out of bed. There is also a nightclub on the roof that plays music until 3am on weekends .. and we heard the music until 3am.

Depending on what you like this might be a hit or miss. Location and Service are really good, everyone was very friendly and helpful, however the overall hotel vibe is not for everyone. We traveled with a group of colleagues and most of them described it as a frat house vibe and it sort of is. Rooms are small, very dorm-like and don't get me started about the crazy elevator situation. It's loud, I had a hard time sleeping. The bar is nice, so if fun, loud centric is your vibe you're gonna love this. If you're here for work and need to sleep you might wanna skip it. The pics in my review are of a slightly bigger room, most of them are smaller.

Really nice hotel. Great location and setup. BUT - super noisy during the night. We were not able to sleep on the weekend as a rooftop / night club is right next to it. AND we were charged for bottled water after checkout - we did not drink it. No response to our complaint, hope you enjoy the scam…

My partner and I stayed at Moxy for 4 nights and we had a great experience. From the moment we walked in, we felt that the hotel was attentive, friendly, and very fun. Location was amazing and close to the subway station. Rooms were very artsy and surprisingly had a lot of storage space. The bed was comfortable and the blackout curtains were much appreciated. We got $30 credit daily to use at their bar or cafe, which paid for our daily breakfast. They also lend out a Polaroid camera and give you 10 pictures a day! My only qualms were that there is no fan in the bathroom and we had a rude bartender on the first night there. Otherwise, we had lots of fun staying here and would definitely do it again.

The perfect hotel to stay for a couple of days! The location is amazing, it's just a couple of minutes walking from Times Square, and from the Empire State Building. The rooms are small but cozy, it wasn't really a problem for me and my mom since we're out the entire day, and we also just stayed 1 night. They also have a very cool common area where people can have a beer, grab a coffee and just chill while your phone charges. The washrooms there are very clean, it seems that there's an employee that continuously goes and cleans them. There's also a place downstairs for you to keep your luggage if you arrive before the check-in time, or if you want to keep some stuff there after you've checked out. If I had to list little negative comments, for improvement, I would say: 1) the elevator is a bit confusing and the doors close superfast. This one time I was waiting for a while downstairs, then a big group of people came out of the elevator. But a person was right in front of me was being a bit slow and blocking me from getting to the elevator, but I literally blinked, and the elevator doors closed, and we had to wait for a while again. 2) There was part of the common area that no plugs would work, so we had to move to another place, on the back, to charge ours phones I think that's it. Overall, a very nice experience!

Nice Marriott hotel for the trendy type of people and some Millenials. They have a nice atrium with bar and smacks. They offer fruit and pastries with coffee or bottled water in the morning. Staff is polite and friendly but not a place for Elite Members over age of 40. They are very nice and hospital to Elite members, bit don't offer as much as other Marriott hotels. I still enjoyed my stay and would return. They have a great location to everything on Times Square. Nice for families, friends and those that are trendy. ENJOY!

The hotel isn’t bad by any means, but it’s definitely different than any of the other Marriott properties I’m used to. I’d say this is intended for the young and hip crowd. There’s loud music playing in all the common spaces at all times. The time are manageable but oddly there’s no furniture other than a bed. I wish there were a small desk or dresser. The bathrooms are similar in that they’re not bad, but not laid out well. It’s probably just my preferences and experience with other properties, which I’ll be sticking to in the future.

We have stayed at Moxy Time Square now two times and we absolutely. This time we stayed it was even better than we thought it would be. Letti made our experience so amazing this time. The manager Kevin also was fabulous. Everything is super clean new and just honestly one of the best little secret gems of New York hotels. The food was amazing as well. They have some very good restaurants. All of the service there is amazing from the hotel staff to the restaurant workers. The bar on the roof is So cool and fun. Letty made our experience by always making sure that we had exactly what we needed and giving us all the information we needed about New York City and all the little hidden stuff. She overall made our experience so special next time we will make sure to be staying there. As for Kevin the manager. He also made sure we had everything we need as well as making sure everything went correctly for are stay and treated us amazingly. It’s the only hotel I will recommend to people to stay at.

Outstanding location and perfect for those who expect to spend majority of their time away from the hotel room. The design aesthetic is unique and accommodating. We booked the king size bed for two people. The rooms are on the small, but that is to be expected in an old, renovated building. We nested and found a way to arrange our stuff so that it didn't feel congested. Hotel restaurants are solid, convenient. All of this for an after-tax price that is hard to beat.

What a fun and eclectic hotel in a great location!! Check-in was easy, and navigation to our room was simple. The rooms are cozy, aka small, and we loved it. Every detail in the room is well though out, and the people watching view was PRIMO!! We went to The Magic Hour, which is the hotel's rooftop bar (reservation recommended, or you may not be able to get in). It was a great atmosphere and the drinks and food were decent. Check out was at noon, so we were able to sleep in prior to catching the train back home, which is only a couple of blocks from the hotel.

The stars are for the staff. Staff is the only component that’s good in this place. The rooms are tiny. Very TI-NY. And walls are paper thin. The lounge and rooftop is for the older crowd. Much older crowd. Mid 40’s- 50’s. Music is 70’s vibe. Not good ambiance if your 30 or younger.

The room was very clean and comfortable and perfect for a stay in a good location in the city. The shower had warm/hot running water and there were enough hooks in the room to hang clothing and other items on them. The noise level was not too distracting but be advised that the hotel is located on a busy intersection located minutes away from the middle of Times Square. I would stay here again and encourage you to consider this property!

Awesome hotel. Very clean, as soon as you enter your nose notices the wonderful smell of the lobby. The staff is very attentive and helpful, the rooms are very clean, they are small but its NY so its pretty normal for a hotel with accessible prices. Knowing that do not expect a mini fridge or microwave, or even a chair to sit down. You need your room key to use the elevators so that gives you peace of mind knowing that not anyone will be roaming around the hotel. They ask you for ID and vaccination card, so that also gives you a little peace of mind. 4 stars because the only thing I was not a fan of was the shower and toilet doors. They are see-through so if you're not staying with your significant other it could be uncomfortable to shower or use the toilet. Other than that it was a great stay.

Loved our hotel room. Small. Has Hooks so great for hanging up jackets or backpacks o they're not sprawled over the floor. Noticed when you take a hot shower the whole room gets pretty humid. Staff were always friendly. Not a big fan of the bar though. Location was away from busy time square but still walkable to most major things.

Overall, it was an enjoyable experience. The check in was quick and easy, the staffer that checked me in somehow remembered my name and greeted me every time I came in. I would like to have seen more food menu choices in the Moxy bar. The menu seemed short, but the food was good. The Moxy bar area was warm and comfortable. The bartenders were friendly and engaging. The rooms were a bit of an odd design. I did not like the bed against the wall. If I were there with another person, it would have been uncomfortable. I also did not like climbing across the bed to close the shade. I did like the "relax" feature on the TV. The have bedtime stories on the room phone, I wish I had listened to a bedtime story. I am knocking off a star due to room design\layout. But I would add an extra star for friendly, courteous, engaging staff.

Could not check in at the 4:00 time as late checkout had been granted to the guests in the room before us. Upon entering the room, we were disappointed at the ‘suite’. This is nothing more than an average hotel room. Zero storage space for anything. No closet. Pedestal sink in the bathroom with no storage. No shower curtain so the entire bathroom floor was soaked after every shower. A vanity mirror and a full length mirror in the room - but both were located inside the bathroom. Won’t be returning. Would have given 1 star but giving an additional star as several members of the staff were great.

The room was perfect. I stayed here with two of my friends while we were in town visiting. The only thing I wish we could have changed was the fact that we had to wait to get upstairs to the rooftop even though we were guests at the hotel. Nonetheless it is still on our list of places to visit when we go back to New York because of how great the reviews are. Service was great. Also, checking in and out was smooth.

Room’s fine for a solo traveler, nothing special but the room is very clean. The only thing that soured my experience is that there’s a rooftop bar that blares music till 4a on the weekends and the music can be heard and felt all the way down on the 5th floor. When I called the front desk, I was gas lit into thinking it was just regular noise from the street… it’s not noise from the street because I’m from NYC and know what that sounds like. Older comments here, one from a year ago, stated that the hotel was working on sound proofing the rooms— they definitely have not. If you’re looking for a party, this is the place to stay, but if you’re here for work or with young children, DO NOT BOOK this place… especially during a weekend.

Located right in the heart of Midtown, close to Penn Station and several NYC landmarks. Perfect for a first visit to the city Prices for rooms are what you’d expect to pay to stay in Manhattan. Because of it’s location it can at times be somewhat noisy The lobby staff was quite friendly. They offered free water bottles and other beverages free of charge upon my arrival and at several points throughout my stay The lobby is usually packed, with lots of people coming and going. At times there’s a security guard trying to get people moving through. There’s no place to just sit with your suitcases if you need to wait for an Uber for instance

If you’re like me, you saw the website and the pictures and the prices and you are thinking “too good to be true.” We stayed one night in a king corner room on the 10th floor. The room while small was quite charming. No noisy neighbors that we could hear (we were celebrating an anniversary so I apologize if we were someone’s loud neighbors 🤣). The bar and lounge area are wonderfully decorated and cozy. The rooftop bar has got to be one of the coolest spots near Times Square. Close enough to walk to the Broadway shows. Loved our stay and will be back sometime for sure.

It was overall a decent stay. We stayed on the third floor. I’m sure a common complaint from folks on that floor is that the DJ music comes bumping through the floor and basically shakes the room until 2am. We could not fall asleep until the music was over. Besides that, the check in was easy and the front desk staff was very nice.

We recently had an excellent experience at the Moxy Times Square. I read that rooms can be tiny like many NYC hotels, but our room had two double beds and it was plenty of room for us; granted we had a packed holiday agenda and did not plan on spending much time in our room. We had an interior facing room and we were amazed by how quiet it was - honestly couldn't believe we were in NYC. The hotel was clean, great food options, and the location was perfect. It was nice being just a touch south of Times Square. Thank you to the front desk staff, Laritsa and Steve, for going above and beyond to make our stay so enjoyable. They were both very kind and friendly, and also able to accommodate both an early check-in and late check-out which helped our travel plans tremendously.

I stayed at this hotel for a week and the rooms were comfortable and pretty decent value for the price but the stand out for this hotel is the staff (particularly Yamilly and Julia - 2 managers at front desk but there were so many more that I just forgot their names). I had an issue with the AC in my room and they went above and beyond to not only fix but improve my stay and make me and my friend feel special. Whoever trained the managers did an amazing job - honestly best I have experience at any hotel and it made such a difference to my stay. Would 100% recommend and stay again all because of the front of house staff! Also the restaurant on the second floor was so nice, good happy hour and oysters were amazing! The drink choice at the bar was somewhat limited in my opinion but good cocktails that were included. The cafe next door has the tastiest breakfasts and is included in a 30$ stipend we could spend at the hotel! Such a great stay!

Stayed at the Moxy for three nights with my partner while they were here for work. Room would be fine if you were solo traveller and planning to be out of the hotel all day. Otherwise too small and lacks the facilities to be comfortable. We had small double bed which was right up against the wall. The wall was making a weird creaking sound the entire stay which was extremely annoying when trying to get to sleep. We were on the 17th floor and warned about the potential noise from the roof top bar but it was fairly low level during our stay. There was NOT enough space for two people with luggage. There wasn’t a wardrobe and the hooks on the walls are placed in a way that makes 85% of them redundant (like the ones running above the TV, which by the way, sits at the end of the bed so if you are 6ft+ you will hit with your feet repeatedly while trying to sleep). There was no desk or chair in the room so if you want to do any work you are doing it on the bed or the coffee/bar area on L2. House keeping came once during our three night stay. Not great. Location is good, well connected so easy to get across Manhattan.

We have been here previously and where not greatly impressed, but thought we’d give it another try. From the onset, it has all the feel of an exclusive and private venue, that’s far from it. The service was terrible and they certainly take advantage of unsuspecting tourist who don’t know better. The wine glasses were dirty and when we asked for fresh glasses, they poured the same wine into a slightly watered glass that was still wet with water. That was a big mistake, and we knew there this was not a classy place. The place has a limited menu and the drinks were overpriced. We’re native New Yorker’s and know there’s far better places to visit with equally or better views. Not worth the visit.

The service was wonderful! I asked for a bottle of champagne to be in the room and some rose pedals and they did an amazing job. The provided a $30 a day to use at the bar or mini cafe. Rooms were very small, that was the only downside.

I've stayed at most Marriotts in NYC and this was by far one of faves. As an older, middle aged solo traveler, I was unsure if the vibe would be a bit too young and hip but I found the opposite to be true. The 2nd floor bar and lounge was a great place to hang and meet people or relax with a drink and book. I loved my well appointed micro single room that provided everything I needed for a comfy stay including a requested second pillow. The entire staff was accommodating and friendly. The stay also included a $30 daily credit towards food and/or drink which was another bonus (glass of Veuve every day on the house?! Yes please!) The location is also ideal because it's not right in the middle of Times Square but you have quick access to all those subway lines and at nearby Herald Square too. Can't wait to go back.

The Moxy Times Square is a fun and lively hotel located near the Times Square area of NYC. It was perfect for us during a recent visit to NYC. The hotel is located close to restaurants, shopping, Broadway theatres, Madison Square Gardens, subway stations and all the other amenities you’re likely to need during your stay. I was visiting NYC with my 2 adult children and the Moxy has rooms with 2 double bunk beds. This allowed each of us to have our own bed which was a big plus in our decision to stay at the Moxy. Our room had a flat-screen TV, good Wi-Fi and a great shower. Check-in and check-out was painless and fast. The reception staff were efficient and friendly. We had daily housekeeping and the housekeeping staff did a good job looking after our room. The elevators were very good with minimal wait times. Our room included a $30 daily credit that you can use at the adjacent Café D’Avignon or at the hotel bar on the 2nd floor. The only drawback was that our room was very small and there was no desk or table that you could sit at. The only place to sit was on your bed. This makes it a bit inconvenient if you want to work or eat in the room. Also, there’s no fridge, safe or coffee maker in the room. None of these items are game breakers for me so I would stay here again on my next visit to NYC.

Nelly was a life saver with helping to assist me getting a driver for our last 3 hours before leaving NYC. Attention to detail with me and with the driver for a smooth schedule to get it all in before our departure! Also there was a leak in the hallway on our last night from the rain. Our room was fine but we were offered anything to help with the mess in the hall area that it effected. The manager that night was very courteous.

I liked the hotel, but it is a bit much with some of the technology. For example, impossible to call and order food from the bar/restaurant. You get stuck in a loop of hell. Room was small, but comfortable. NYC fees added one-third to the bill. That should be disclosed. Why am I paying $40 for the Javits Center? Had I known I would have stayed in Jersey and taken the Ferry. Customer service was 5 stars.

We wanted an overnight stay near MSG for a concert....this was perfect! Walkable from Penn station, lots of accessible places locally (bars, cannabis store, etc)....and the service and rooms were very cool and we had everything we needed. I'd definitely stay here again!

Not a bad hotel. It is definitely a more hip urban feel. Not quiet. Great location. Our original room had no working AC with 90 degree outside temperatures. We placed 4 calls about the AC and had 2 separate engineer visits attempting repair. Hotel was unable to fix and unable to move us until the 3rd night. The manager was fair in crediting us for 1 night and moved us to another room with working AC for last 2 nights.

Stayed here for a few days before a cruise and was by far the best NYC experience!!! Letty checked us in and was so amazing and helpful. She went above and beyond our expectations! Incredibly easy to get around the city from this location. The hotel had so many amenities and stunning views. Hotel bar had unique cocktails, great food, and lounge area. Rooftop bar was DECKED out in floral arrangements and a photo spot of EmpireSB that would kill the gram. If you're looking for a spot to impress your friends. Come here.. rooms were small but that's NYC for ya. Drop your bags and get out there and be somebody 🗽

Had such a great stay here! Native NYer spent a night in the city with a friend from out of town. Niko in customer service was AMAZING! So sweet and had such a great high, infectious energy! Went above and beyond helping us check in and helped get out bags checked for the day of check out so we could explore the city a bit. Will definitely be coming back!

We went to the roof top garden for brunch and had a fantastic time. Our waitress was great, but definitely overworked as she had so many tables to wait on. Still, when she came over, she did so with a huge smile and wonderful service. This is a people watching type of place that added to the fun. You'll also be impressed with the food and drinks - all very good. I would definitely go back and be prepared to wait a little. You can walk around a bit or reserve a spot on the merry go round and take some photos.

The hotel is amazing, Magic Hour is absolutely beautiful and the food and drinks were pretty good as well. The best part of our stay was how professional and nice the staff were. The only issue we had (they did fix it everytime) was our air conditioner kept going out leaving our room so hot. Still I can't wait to stay again. Thank you!

I called a few days before booking to ask if their gym was open 24/7, and they said yes. But when I got there they said the gym has been closed for the past 2 weeks because of flooding. They lied about the gym being open and when I asked for a refund they offered me an apology. Will never come back here again. Also the room is super tiny and not worth the price. There’s much better options in the area with gyms that are consistently open.

Room was fine but small which is to be expected in nyc. Location is excellent. However the staff at this hotel are not taking any COVID precautions. No mask wearing by staff the entire weekend I was there and no enforcement of mask wearing by hotel patrons. This is very unsafe. It’s not hard to wear a mask…I wear one 8+ hours a day as a teacher. Get over it and help us end this pandemic. Additionally noise from the rooftop is very loud and extends into the night past midnight. There are better hotels in this price range in nyc and I will not be booking again.

This was my second time staying here. It's affordable from NYC standards and has a trendy boutique-y vibe to it. Staff is friendly and rooms are clean. If you're looking for a lot of room to spread out in, this is probably not for you. If you wan to see how a efficient a space can be utilized then go for it!

My girlfriend and I stayed here and we had a blast. The room was small, but cute and very cozy. The bedding was nice and soft. It felt really homey. Definitely will stay here again and next time we'll explore more of what the hotel has to offer.

I love this hotel! Good experience from the moment you walk in. Fun, energetic, upbeat environment. I got the smallest room but it’s surprisingly spacious enough for one person! They have brilliantly designed the room to have all the essentials you need cutely hung on the walls. The bed is plenty big (full?) and comfortable, it’s very quiet for being so close to Times Square. The AC is cold, temp is adjustable, and has a nice quiet hum to help drown out outside noise. I love that the shower has full size essentials and they provide face wipes (hello leftover party makeup). I immediately went up to the 2nd floor bar, where there were plenty of seats available, people are socially distanced, and the bartenders are super attentive and fast. Love the environment. Perfect place to launch your night! I walked next door for pizza, there’s a wine shop across the street, and a weed patio bar across the intersection. GREAT LOCATION. Highly recommend.

Great staff, cool & trendy rooms, super clean and cool vibe inside. Service was amazing, great rooftop bar and amazing location - 3 min walk from Penn Station & Subway. Rooftop bar is awesome as well, little noisier if you're on the higher floors so keep in mind if you're trying to sleep early. We had our flights canceled the day we were leaving and the man at the front was so sweet and helpful, he allowed us to check back in early and upgraded us to a better room - really took care of us. Great stay! Would stay again.

Eh, cute hotel for pictures but not for a comfortable stay. My friends and I had gotten a double room on the 3rd floor. (Way smaller than the already small looking pictures from the website.) We literally could hear the rooftop club at midnight FROM THE THIRD FLOOR. The bar I will say was amazing! When I drink I get hot (like a majority of people because alcohol is known to make you feel slightly warm.) We messed with the AC for about half an hour trying to figure out how to make it lower, then we realized the thermostat in the room only goes down to 70 degrees….Also when we showered we realized we barely had any privacy, the shower glass is blurry but you can still see them moving around showering. My boyfriend and I couldn’t even have a little private time. Also I’m not sure if it was just our room or the hotel in general, but we all had to shower with those small towels that you put by the foot of the shower to step on after you get out because we had no wash cloths. Felt like I was living in O-Block for the weekend.

The Moxy was great! The hotel itself feels very trendy, the staff was incredibly helpful and the location can’t be beat. The rooftop bar is super cute and the lounge area was very nice. The elevators were very weird and I wish the rooms had a closet but overall it was a fantastic stay and could not have asked for better lodging.

Why would a hotel that shows the various dining options as well as the rooftop bar the Magic hour on their website not have any capability to get a registered hotel guest a reservation at any of the requested dining options? And to top it off the hotel Management is completely lacking in any response whatsoever. I’ll stay at The Standard my next visit where customer service is at a higher standard

Moxy had a good location right in Time Square. The hotel had a cool vibe with nice amenities. The room was insanely small for the price. There was also no fridge in the room, which for $760 dollars for two nights is ridiculous. There was also only one mirror in the room and it was in the bathroom, which is kinda inconvenient when someone is in there. One of the biggest attractions to the hotel is the rooftop area, and it isn't even available to guests under 21. The elevator systems were too complicated, eventually we figured out how to use them. I'm not sure why they are set up that why, it seems to me it would be easier to just have a normal elevators so you don't have scrambling and confused guests every two minutes. Overall, we were disappointed with our stay, we felt is was way overpriced with what you got out of it.

A fun stylish base in midtown NYC. Would recommend! We booked five nights at The Moxy for a family trip to NYC (one double, one double-double). Got a bit concerned about some of the negative reviews on here, but needn’t have worried. The rooms are really cleverly designed to get the most out of a compact space, the amenities all good and comfortable (great shower!) The hotel is lively, stylish with good common spaces (we enjoyed our free morning coffee every day in the bar - thanks). It’s clean, the crew is friendly, the location is fantastic (Empire State Building in the background of all our photos!). Sure, it’s a bit pricey for what you get, but this is NYC. And its a bit noisy (but this is NYC) but we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this for a great stay. We’ll be back!

We were excited to stay here as even though it’s small, the hotel rooms are very cute and have great decor. Again, the rooms are cool and this place is great if you’re looking to spend most time out of your hotel while in Manhattan. Service however was a different story. Our room was not ready by check in time and we had to downgrade in order to be able to get in faster. Rooms are not cleaned up the next day unless you ask (?) but no instructions on this either upon arrival. The staff seemed overwhelmed and not enough of them to handle hotel demands.

We really enjoyed our week-long stay at NYC Moxy. The staff and cleaning staff were welcoming, laid back and helpful especially at check-in and were willing to accommodate additional daily room cleaning requests. We had requested two extra room cleans over the week on top the provided mid-week clean (reduced due to covid) but ended up having the room cleaned almost daily to a good standard (this may have been partly down to leaving tips in the room?). The ‘stash’ provided any extra bedding/towels that we needed. The room was designed and fitted to a great standard, and was spacious and functional although this may be due to it being a queen rather than a standard room. We had read previous reviews about the rooms being small but did not experience this, there was enough room for the small table to be permanently out with two suitcases on the floor and we did not feel claustrophobic throughout our week long stay. There were some niggles such as a gap in flooring and panelling by the bed, and a noisy A/C unit, but the room was generally great. The TV was of good quality and could easily connect to a personal Netflix account and was well situated. The other room amenities were good, especially the shower which had excellent water pressure. Despite staying in the room for an extended period of time, we experienced no issues and can have no major complaints. We were extremely satisfied with our stay and would strongly recommend staying at Moxy to anyone travelling to the City, especially first time visitors considering its location next to Times Square. The price of the room was highly competitive for its great quality and service, but this may have been helped by the fact we booked prior to UK-US travel restrictions opening up. The additional damage deposit paid on check-in was frustrating and added an unexpected charge early on into our stay and could be more clearly explained in communications prior to the stay. This could also be said of the water in the room that was charged at $5 a bottle for use, a charge for which was added to the check out bill but we did not question due to its small additional amount. I would recommend this Moxy to young people, couples and people looking for a short city break who haven’t previously been to NY as it provides a great starting point for getting used to the City. It is very near a number of high profile tourist spots and good walking/subway distance to all the others. If we were to stay again, we would look to stay at a quieter Moxy location in East Village or Lower Manhattan but couldn’t recommend this Moxy more for first timers. It is a safe and welcoming environment and security begins with key card usage for lifts and rooms that are equipped with additional internal door locks. It is worth noting that whilst on the same premises, the bar almost functions as a separate entity rather than as part of the facilities and separate online reservations are required to use it (which didn’t seem hard to do). Whilst we did not use it, the bar on the first floor looked fun as did the rooftop which has views of the Empire State. Definitely stay here if you’re looking for a hotel at a reasonable price in the centre of mid-Manhattan, and I would recommend selecting a queen room if you are concerned about room size.

Just checked in this evening. I split time between Denver and NYC and have to say I was skeptical about this hotels location. But I am a loyal Marriott member so gave it a shot. It’s honestly kind of touristy- but pretty standard for a Times Square location. The security in the lobby and the key card access to the rooms keeps it safe and quiet. The room itself is SUPER cute and also very clean!! The shower is hilarious (no diving)! And the BEST shower I’ve ever had while traveling! The front desk staff was also very kind and accommodating! I would totally recommend this hotel and stay here again without hesitation!

Amazing stay!! Stayed at this hotel for a girls trip and it was everything we hoped for and more. VERY trendy and decorated perfectly. The rooms were on the smaller side...but we did not mind since it was just the two of us. Fantastic location and easy access to the subway. The staff was very nice and excited to assist you. The second floor (I think) is a lounge area with complimentary coffee. STAY HERE!! You will love it!!!

My friend and I stayed at this Moxy location this month and we loved our stay! The 2 bed room is perfect for friends, bathroom was surprisingly large and spacious which was great for two girls doing makeup in the morning! Staff was so helpful and kind, breakfast was free and they had complimentary candy bar in the afternoon! :)

Check in and out super easy - stayed 7 nights and was very enjoyable. Room was comfortable and clean with great facilities. Would have been good to have been told upon check in that there was a water station and vending machine on floor 0 but that is my only criticism of what was otherwise an amazing hotel with awesome staff. Good job guys.

I went for brunch. They don't have an extensive brunch menu. Their drinks are kind of pricey. But going to a lot of roof top restaurant/bars over the years, these prices are normal.( I think, I only been to one that had happy hour). I took pictures right away. I'm glad I did because a line formed for the carriage. Each person took a loooong time to take pictures. So ..if you're looking for a good brunch spot this ain't it. But if you want to order cotton candy, etc, wear your Sunday best or your club best to take pictures for the Gram this is the spot.

Absolutely loved staying here. An Art Deco type hotel, quirky, fun and cool. The rooms are clean and are a great sleep. Shower room is pretty big too. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and looking forward to coming back!

This was a super fun stay. We had a quad bunk room which gave each of us a single bed, nice to not have to bump up against your friends on a girls trip. The room was super funky but there are a couple of idiosyncrasies that you might want to be aware of. No iron, but they have a steamer which worked out great for us. No fridge in the room but they did offer to deliver one… we just used buckets if ice which was fine. The bathroom was fairly ‘lightly frosted glass’ so you might want to avert your eyes from the bathroom when your friends are having a shower 😂 - we thought it was funny but be warned. The cafe in the building had the BEST croissants. The bar on the second floor was good fun, had a drag show on the Friday we were there and you get $30 credit a day you can use there (doesn’t get aggregated sadly so we only got to use one of the nights even though we spent a fair amount). And then the roof bar was stunning view, good drink deals, food was average - no love in the eats, sadly. All in all…. A great stay and we’d definitely be back.

Great hotel for adults, partying atmosphere. Unfortunately they didn’t let my daughter up to the rooftop, just wanted to take pictures. They told me that it doesn’t matter what they say at the hotel you need to to be seated and make reservations. I didn’t get to see the rooftop which was fine with me just don’t advertise the rooftop on your website. If you do advertise it, say it’s for adults only. Aside from that the Staff is the best, hands down.!! Great attitudes and accommodating.!

One of the best hotel stays I've ever had. Staff were fabulous and the amenities and features are cleverly designed. The room is cozy and the bathroom is quirky while being functional. The speakeasy rooftop bar has great views, location was perfect. Can't wait to stay again on my next trip.

Great value. The rooms are super small but the interiors are well done. It felt like a from room but, if you’re looking for a convenient hotel to just sleep in this is it. I would also note that they had ample common areas so if you wanted to get out of your room to work - there are some great places to sit and work. Bare necessities done in great fashion. I didn’t get pictures of the room before we unpacked all our stuff but the pictures on the website are pretty accurate. And the night staff was particularly nice when we checked in very late.
