Just stayed here for the first time on a quick Wednesday-Thursday one-night trip to NYC. The hostel has just about everything you’d need, and not much more, but for the price I can’t complain. Cool art all over the walls. The utensils in the kitchen are disposable plastic ones, so make sure to bring your own if that’s something you care about. Easy check-in and check-out. The in-room lockers are very small, and won’t fit most checked-bag-sized luggage. The others staying in the hostel didn’t seem to be very talkative, and many didn’t appear to be travelers, but rather people just looking for a cheap place to stay. If you’re looking for a European-style hostel experience where you meet a bunch of friendly nomads, this may not be the place for you, but perhaps I was there on an off-night. The neighborhood is pretty rough and very close to some housing projects. I will come back, but I wouldn’t feel comfortable in this area if I were a woman, particularly at night.

i found the location was good as two subway stations (Montrose and Morgen) were at a walkable distance. The staff was very helpful and rooms were clean. I liked their kitchen facility. Halal food was available at nearby deli and Indian restaurants. Cool place in NY.

I stayed in this hostel last September. I enjoyed the rooms, the hostel environment, and the location was okay, but I had such a poor experience with the staff at the front desk. When I checked in, the guy at the desk told me that my party had booked separate rooms and that we weren't going to be staying together. I asked if there was anyway we could move people around and he IMMEDIATELY shut me down in the rudest way. Zero customer service. Wouldn't even consider checking the system and seeing if there were a bed or 2 available in one of our rooms. Annoying, but fine. Later that day, I went out for lunch at a nearby restaurant. A different front desk worker asked me how it was. As soon as I told him that I enjoyed it, he proceeded to tell me that I only thought it was good because I'm not from New York and that I didn't know what good food tasted like. It was so condescending and pretentious. Those interactions were so aggravating that I think about them from time to time. Honestly, for how much you're paying here, you're better off just booking a cheaper hotel outside the city. I am never coming back here.

One of the cleanest, quietest hostels I have ever stayed in, it is not a new building but they clearly take a lot of pride in maintaining it. The cleanliness of the washrooms are equivalent to that of Best Western. Washrooms could be improved by having a towel rack and some table to keep your stuff that you don't want to leave in the washroom, I had to use the immaculately cleaned toilet seat cover to hold my stuff. Yes there are no activities but if you couldn't make any friends at all here that is a skill issue. Activities cost money for hostels to run and I would much rather continue enjoying the cheapest good hostel in NYC and make my own activities with the people I made friends with here. There is still free coffee, tea, paper cups, and towels in the kitchen, which is a lot more than a lot of hostels give you. Not to mention the nightlife here is SO much better in Bushwick than Manhattan. All the popular bars, nightclubs, and great late night drunk food is within walking distance of this hostel. Manhattan is pretty boring in comparison after 12 AM.

I stayed here to have someplace reasonably close to JFK airport. If taking the subway to the airport though, be careful if using Google Maps directions. The instructions for the "Air Train JFK Green" segment to the airport terminals do not list that a transfer is needed at Federal Circle Station.

The aim of the business is clearly being the cheapest for a decent service, so expect the bare minimum. Friendly person at front desk, open 24/7, secure storage (you have to bring your own lock, or buy one for $4). Dispenser with essentials at good prices. Big laundry, bar, pizzeria, burger/kebab shop with lots of vegan options, all 2-5’ walking distance. Close to L subway. All in all, a great budget place to stay while visiting NY.

Look I get it's a hostel but the single room looked nothing like the pictures and there was a mouse with visible droppings in the kitchen. Also, the sheets were dirty, one had a cigarette burn hole in it and visible hairs in them. I'm giving it two stars cause the staff was nice and it was well located.

This hostel is great! I loved my stay here. Starting from the dimension of the rooms, spacious and bright (no bunk beds in the dorms !!! Miracle! ) Nice kitchen and living room, pity I didn't have time to play some games at the pool table, but surely if coming with a group of friends that would be a great way to spend time on lazy nights! The area might look a bit raw and not easy at first, but it's just its look ! I felt very safe going around the streets also at night. It's perfect to get around the Brooklyn area. Located perfectly in between different metro and bus stations, you can find lots of restaurants, coffee places and delis just 5 minutes walking distance. Try Roberta's pizza and drinking area outdoor, 3 dollar bill (LGBT club) on Mondays for the Ball and during the weekends for good nasty sweaty parties till late night. The staff is always friendly and helpful, from the beautiful smiles at the reception to the sweet cleaning ladies going around the building through the morning. I could not recommend it more ! Thanks ! If there is one little thing is the lack of laundry service. But there is lots of laundry places just around the corner... So no real problem with that !

This place is beyond amazing, and made with some of nicest staff you’ll ever meet. This Gem of a place is centered in Brooklyn, and by far the best hostel in New York. They have maps everywhere to guide you, and they know everything about the city to make sure you make the best out of your visit. This place is where everyone is bound to make life long friends. This space is truly magic, from the murals on the walls, to the way the staff cleans each room after a guest checks out. Everything beats on a flawless rhythm here, and I can’t imagine staying anywhere else while I’m visiting New York. Lastly I can’t tell you all enough how amazing the staff is, and how they give world class service.

I stayed at NY Moore Hostel and I will definitely return. Desk service is excellent to say the least. Rooms are cozy and bathrooms are clean and spacious (my bed was large and super comfy☺️🖤). There’s outstanding urban art on the walls of the building. This hostel is just a few block away from Montrose Av subway station, which makes this a convenient location. There are fantastic bars and foods nearby. My stay was for only five nights, so next time I will try to stay longer.

It’s ok. The art is quite cool and the rooms are large. It’s affordable. But the kitchen is lacking. Apparently we have to go out to buy our own bowls and plates.

Atmospheric, clean, comfortable, cute hostel in a fantastic neighborhood with good transit connections. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Rooms are minimal but clean and the private bathroom for each shared room is nice. The 24 hour coffee is a big plus. I didn't have time to hang out with other guests the way I usually do at hostels but everyone I met was pleasant. A rare affordable option in NY.

I could say this is the best hostel to stay in NY, according to the price you're paying and what you're getting. Very friendly staff, the bedrooms are very clean along with its private bathroom, which is nice. Also they have a common room for relax, read, use computer...with a free coffee and tea station! They have a clean and big enough kitchen and a play room, with a pool table. If you like art street, you'll see...

Huge waste of potential. It's extremely large but sterile and claustrophobic feeling. Terrible interior design and layout with Schizophrenic nightmare fuel art all over the walls. And then 5 beds in a huge room but no privacy for guests. Having stayed in hostels in Japan (17 a night usd) and elsewhere where the owners put care into creating a warm and comfortable environment, this place is seriously lacking. It's as if they spent all their money paying local artists to create nightmare fuel on the walls but forgot to do anything else. Who really wants to sleep in a room with acid trip sesame street on the walls? Madlibs a great producer, but why write his name on the wall of a hostel bedroom? Are walls the most important part of a hostel experience and can they not do anything to give guests more privacy? To summarize, feels like in a city where space is at a premium and living costs are absurd they should really be working to better utilize the vast space they have create a more comfortable and private experience for the guests. No disrespect to the people working there. They're always kind and helpful, other guests are respectful, but the space is just terrible.

Before I moved back to the East Coast, this was always my hostel of choice. Clean, safe, conveniently located, and TOP-NOTCH blankets! I have stayed here many times and the quality of the service, staff, and guests is always super high. I do not anticipate returning, but only because the Greater NYC area is now my home. I would recommend the NY Moore Hostel to a friend — in fact, I already have, to two!

This was my first time staying in Brooklyn during my trip to NYC. I usually stay in Manhattan, but I wanted to explore cheaper but good value places. This hostel is definitely on the good options. I stayed there for 5 days and I enjoyed it. The owner was super friendly for me and my family. Even though they stayed at different place, he invited them to come inside, sit, and have tea while waiting for me. It's a safe and clean hostel, I also had a great experience interacting with the staff and the other guests. The location is not bad at all compared to the prices in other places, especially in Manhattan. I would be careful coming back there walking alone at night in the neighbourhood, but besides that, I would recommend the place!

In all fairness, I have not stayed in many hostels in my lifetime, so my review is an honest, personal comparison of the room rate(s) that I paid and the cushy accomodations of a private hotel nearby. For the rate of a private room here, which is sparsely outfitted with 3 small twin beds and little to no furniture, by comparison, for a mere $50 more, I could have slept in a very comfortable hotel not too far away, where the beds are cushy, showers are perfect, the hot breakfast is free, delicious, and plentiful, and everything is modern, fresh and updated. That being said, if I was traveling solo &/or with fellow singleminded travellers, it may be more feasible to consider this hostel for a cost effective 3-way split... just for the purpose of sleeping and for the interesting experience. This hostel is a good choice in a decent neighborhood at a reasonable rate... but if you were looking for an honest, comparative opinion, now you've got it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Great place. A metro trip away from Manhattan. Also an ideal home base to discover some parts of Brooklyn (Williamsburg, the bars around the jefferson street metro stop, ...). Very clean and nicely decorated with graffiti. There was little interaction between the travelers though. Maybe because they were spread over the several common areas, not sure. Kind and helpful staff, except for one guy who initially charged me about $70 too much and didn't even apologize when I pointed out his mistake...

Let's start by being honest. I went for a jog and came back 45 mins after the checkout time (11 am). They had already removed NY stuff, denied taking a quick shower and using the storage service. They also told me I won't be welcome anymore in the hostel. I understand this might happen quite a lot and they are probably sick of people doing that. However, that's not the way to treat a customer. There's no need to be mean.

This place looks NOTHING like the photos online. It is EXTREMELY filthy and while you can argue “you get what you paid for,” you can find cleaner and much better options for the same price elsewhere. It’s also in Bushwick, so not a very convenient location - especially if you’re trying to travel around Brooklyn. The staff were very nice though and I feel bad for writing such a poor review, but this place is straight up GROSS and not worth your money. :/ I tried to post a video of the bathroom, but….yeah, don’t trust those Google photos.

I had to get this place at the last minute... Look, be lucky if one of roommates doesn't sound like a diesel engine when sleeping. Bring your earplugs and eye covers. Roommates are pretty quiet and respectful tho. Nothing got stolen. They do not clean tho. Be extra careful using common spaces like the restroom. If you can get something at Manhattan cool. If not, come to crash here.

Moved to nyc & Stayed here for 2 weeks, was good. Owner said I could come back to stay again if needed. Good guy. Booked for 2 more nights online for after Thanksgiving, 4 person Mixed Dorm. I am female. My card was charged automatically for the booking, & I have the receipts. Came after work from Manhattan (1am ish?) to check in. Man behind desk gave me a key for a room that was a 6 person ALL MALE Dorm. Okay, except there was a Body in EVERY BED. Went back to front desk, to obviously “complain” because there wasn’t even an open bed to sleep in. Guy at desk then brings me to Another 6 person MALE Dorm, says he doesn’t have a key to give me and just lets me in the room- in the dark. Use my phone to check the beds- Again, a man in Every bed. I go back to the desk, & am told I can NOT be given a Refund, even though there isn’t even a bed I can sleep in. The desk clerk was obviously pushing me around & Knowingly putting me in less than safe circumstances. I paid in ADVANCE for a 4 person mixed Dorm. Obviously, this was Completely Unacceptable. I was forced to “get loud” to argue about a refund that I was 100% entitled to. When I brought up the Safety concerns & issues of a woman being put in this position, - Finally, the clerk “refunded” me. I have the receipt for the “voided transaction.” It’s been over a month, & I still have Not received the money in my account. When I went back to try & speak with a manager or the owner- I was told that I couldn’t be there because I “caused a disturbance to the other guests.” - Because I had to yell in order to be “issued a refund.” - I was purposely put in a physically dangerous situation as a woman, by a Man “in charge” at this hostel, -lied to, Stolen from- and treated like garbage by all accounts.

Great place to stay! My friend and I stayed for the weekend and loved it. The location is lovely and is a convenient walk to the L subway line and some useful bus lines. The hostel is comfy and is covered in some great art. The best part was the service though. Everyone at the desk was lovely, especially Nicholas. Nicholas was very friendly, welcoming, and a joy to talk to. He gave us so much insight into the neighborhood and gave us great recommendations. He really added to our weekend in Brooklyn and our stay at the hostel. A shout out to David as well who was also very welcoming and helpful!

Among all NYC hostels I like it the best. Private bath for each room and at least they provide liquid hand soap compared to other places which doesn't provide any basic toiletries. Since they have single beds instead of bunkbeds the rooms are large and quite spacious. Kitchen and public spaces are accessible 24/7. They also have a decent water filter.

This Texan had a great experience here. It was a spontaneous road trip because I was staying with my friend in Ohio and thought, “why not?”. When I was in Chicago the hostel I was staying at charged $28 per night for parking, so I was afraid the same would happen in NY, but it didn’t. There was free street parking. The neighborhood looked sketchy but felt pretty safe. Even walking late at night there were a lot of other people walking around (I used public transportation because I didn’t want to drive).I booked 2 beds for 2 nights in the mixed dorm for my boyfriend and I. Luckily, one of the beds was a double bed so we could still sleep together. There was a locker in the room and I purchased a lock from the front desk to lock up laptops. Our “roommates” were very nice but even 4 melatonin gummies couldn’t prevent me from waking up to noises and lights. The vibe was great here - people friendly and inviting. The bathroom and room were really clean. 🙏 thank you

The rooms were perfect, large size, big bathroom, lockers. Some very friendly staff, and some who did not seem to be enjoying their jobs much. Kitchen available. Area is great, close to metro and some great coffee bars in the area. Downside: No laundry room, and no entertainment or socialising events were organised - local advice in common area still predated the pandemic.

So happy I chose to stay here!! I had actually stayed here a couple of years ago and had a very memorable experience and wasn't sure what to expect now. It was still as great! The staff is super accomadating - Will, John, and Chris. The area is chill vibes, with a lot of art, close to the L train to go to Manhattan.

Horrible and unsafe area. Mixt dorm was smelly and dirty. While the 4 female dorm was very spacious and clean. Common areas are oldish and neglected. I felt safe overall in the hostel . But the area has zero interest and can be creepy. Also, there is some food production industry right next to the hostel which is stinky and noisy. I would not go again. I would rather recommend "the local NY" which is in a way nicer area and cleaner.

Moore hostel is just the kind of hostel that does what's necessary for the experience to be good. Great welcome, rooms are clean with a bathroom inside the dorms. Kitchen and game room are nice and well maintained. Not close to Manhattan or anything touristy but get yourself a metro card for that. That kind of hostel gives you a reason to prefer hostels over bnbs or hotels.

Overall this is a great hostel choice in NYC. If you want to experience authentic Brooklyn this puts you in a good neighborhood to do so. Walking distance to the Bushwick club/bar scene, not far from the L train which can get you to Manhattan. If you are into gym, there is one not far away. Rooms are quite spacious and non-invasive which is rare in NYC. Art is everywhere if you are into street art.

Trans friendly affordable lodgings accessible by the L train. Some friends and I booked separate reservations for the 4 bed room and the front desk was able to get us rooming together when I asked politely :) and he was way chill and respectful about my ID having X gender marker. I had never stayed at a hostel before so I was fully expecting it to be nasty or well, hostile lol based on some friends experiences at other hostels. This was nothing of the sort. Clean sheets, clean bathroom (private bathroom shared by the 4 roommates), free coffee and tea, it was pretty quiet, courtyard so you can smoke without standing on the sidewalk. I was meeting other friends who ended up staying at hotels nearby who were paying way more $ for stinky, loud accommodations. I'm really happy I stayed here 10/10 would come again. Edit: forgot to say there's lots of good food around. I personally loved the huevos rancheros at Jessi's

I just finished a week long stay here and absolutely loved it! Shout out to Nico, and the entire staff, for making this one of my favorite hostels! The hostel is super clean and has some great areas to lounge/chill/meet others. Good location too. Beds were really quite comfortable. I’m already coming back in a few months. Definitely recommend this hostel

I almost don't want to review this spot because I don't want it to be too popular. Hands down the best and most affordable spot to stay in nyc. 24 hour staff who will often let you check in early, and are very chill and down to earth (unlike some other places I've stayed in the city). They're happy to provide an extra towel, are very attentive to cleanliness, will give you a tour or offer to store your stuff. I think their kindness and the relaxed vibe probably leads them to getting taken advantage of pretty often. The space is great. Always clean and they come through every room every morning. The cleaning staff are also very friendly. Every room has a private bathroom and shower, which is more than I can say for a lot of hostels. They also have great amenities, the space looks cool as hell, and they're walking distance to a bunch of restaurants and shops and hang spots, as well as 2 train lines. I've stayed here 6 or 7 times and it's always been good.

The people in the room and hostess was quite nice, but the bathroom needs major upheaval for the female dorm. It is definitely not clean and the water pressure is not great and I had to kill a bug there. Not the best - I planned on staying two nights and checked out a night early to stay in an actual hotel. It is cheap but not cheap enough to be this lacking. However, I was here once before and the mixed dorm was more spacious and had a cleaner bathroom compared to the female dorm, so maybe it all depends.

I've stayed in multiple Hotsels throughout NY, and Moore is top rate. The staff is extremely friendly and does everything they can to be sure you welcome and get what you need during your stay. The rooms are always extremely clean and well maintained. Having private bathrooms in room is a huge plus.

It may not be modern but it's the coolest most comfortable hostel I've ever been. Graffiti decorated the walls everywhere, the stuff is very nice and helpful, the room is very spacious and the bathroom is accessible from the room itself. There a computer room, t.v room, breakfast area and even a small yard. Definitely would recommend this place as a budget hostel!

(Translated by Google) Very good! Clean, tidy and very cool. The common spaces are quite wide: kitchen, dining room and living room. The kitchen is complete. There is 24-hour coffee although perhaps a breakfast option could do with it because the nearby shops are not good. Pros: near the Montrose and Flushing Metro stations. In almost all environments there is very good graffiti. Recommended option in Brooklyn. (Original) Muy bueno! Limpio, ordenado y con mucha onda. (Translated by Google) The location is not entirely good. It's not near the most beautiful part of Williamsburg. There are precarious homes around. The nearest metro station is Montrose and is 6 blocks away. I have come back at night walking and the truth is that I had no problems, Bushwickz Avenue on that side is illuminated. There are no very large businesses around. Keep in mind that it does not include breakfast and there are not many places nearby for breakfast since in the block where it is located there are only block residential buildings, car deposits and small businesses. The room was very spacious considering that it is a hostel (I was in room 4). The bathroom (inside the room) was also large. The place is decorated with cute graffiti on the walls. They provide coffee and hot water 24 hours The striking thing is that I saw a mouse in the area where the coffee is. I told the reception people and they just told me that the exterminator had to go. Days later I noticed that they had put some material (maybe traps?) Next to the refrigerator where the mouse came from. That was all the answer I had. While the room was comfortable and I didn't find it dirty, in general I regretted choosing this hostel.

In addition its atmosphere is very pleasant, the suitcase cellar is free but does not have laundry. We only stayed one night but the stay was quite pleasant. They have free Wi-Fi along with free tea/coffee, but they also have vending machines for food, drink and other hotel items that might have been forgotten. The staff was very friendly with any questions asked such as food options and taxi rates to the airport.

Accessibility is not bad. It takes about 5-6 minutes by train station M, L train / But the L line near the hostel doesn't have an Elbe, so when I pull the carrier, I can't remember that there was an Elbe. I recommend riding it. -The bathroom itself is large, but there is no shower and what is fixed on the top? Anyway, I was a little uncomfortable because it only came out above. -Good to keep changing towels -Hot water coming out -Public space spacious_1 When the room is assigned to the floor, it is noisy and the earplugs are required / earplugs can be heard ㅎ -It was good to be hygienic, not carpet floor, and it was good because it was bright -There is no nearby commercial office and it looks safe. A local friend says that East Williamsburg itself is safe. -But it's under construction around here. It's like a house supported by the government. Anyway, it felt safe as of January 2020! -Outsiders just came in and sat down (the locals let me know and actually witnessed it) but I was almost in the room, and it was good that I didn't use the public space well enough for sightseeing / washing / sleeping. The bottom line is I'll stay here the next time I go to New York. Smooth check in and check out, room was pretty good considering the pittance I paid. There's kitchen, free coffee, Netflix and a free towel. The graffiti on the walls (everywhere) is pretty dope. Location is pretty good, close to OZI Dumplings and SEY Coffee. The staff is very friendly and professional. Booking through hostel world got me a 4 bed shared room for $27 a night, which is a steal. Lots of train stations in walking distance too!

Pathetic staff especially Alyssa at the front office is very rude and had a UN polite behaviour , she is not fit for customer service profile, inspite of a confirmed reservation she lied that the reservation was cancelled when there was availability just to get a higher rate, this is very unprofessional. Anyhow it’s harmful only for her not anyone else, as this proves her unprofessional and toxic behaviour and gives a preview of her unacceptable Attitude characteristic. She is just not fit for that job.

I stayed for two consecutive nights. The rooms are cozy and give only what you need, but the staff is very cheerful and full of recommendations. I can't say that Brooklyn is full of excitement, particularly for nightlife, but it's a comfortable, cheap stay.

Great location! Two L train subway stops around the corner. 24/7 market at end of street; walking distance to restaurants and cafes. The property wasn't the most modern and could use some cosmetic updates, but most importantly it was clean with good WiFi and A/C. It was pretty quiet the entire weekend and the staff was super helpful! I’ll certainly be back.

  • 5/5 JT K. 2 years ago on Google
This place was a decent stay and the staff was very welcoming. I'd say it's a decent stay because the beds are comfy, the air conditioner was powerful enough to cool a 4-bed room. Although I didn't feel comfortable enough to shower there because I didn't pack any shower flip flops. There's art all over the building, inside and out.

  • 4/5 Andrea W. 2 years ago on Google
Best hostel I've stayed at in NYC for sure. Friendly staff, good prices, beds are actual beds and not bunk beds, which is definitely a rarity. There's 3-4 beds per room which is reasonable, and each room has a shower. Circulation's not super great, but there are windows to help with that. The rooms are pretty big too, and there's a spot to hang clothes as well as lockers (need to bring your own lock, as usual with hostels). Location is a bit far from Manhattan although it's close to Bushwick and Williamsburg. I'd definitely recommend this hostel out of any other one when visiting NYC.

I was in town from Miami meeting with potential clients, decide to spend a night. I was so impressed with the hostel! Staff are nice, the space is super clean, and everyone barely there. Slept great, kept watching to my budget, and caught a place for the future to see more clients.

Nice hostel with really friendly employees! The simple beds are a bit small (in the private room) but still comfy and there are a few common rooms with kitchen appliances, coffee, sofas, a pool table and arcade games (!) A few minutes away from several metro lines and located not far from a vibrant neighborhood (try Roberta’s pizza). Been recommended Grand street for a night out at Lorimer street crossing and we weren’t disappointed! We had a great stay, would recommend this hostel!

The Moore Hostel is a awesome. THANK YOU HOSTEL HOUSEMATES TOO! My first night I walked through the door and the scent of clean and sanitary was the first thing I noticed. Spoke to a super low key and pleasant front desk manager, checked me in and showed me around a little, (I thought to myself, "this a hostel or a hotel") okay cool. The room was clean and the mattresses had hotel corners on the sheets,/ NO BUNK BEDS! REAL BEDS, (Seanny likey :) tight clean sheets and real beds). They have pool table, 2 arcade machines, a full kitchen, pots,/ pans/ toaster/ microwave / 2 refrigerators!!! Dam the kitchen is awesome! Also a computer room, living room ( Huge) with multiple areas to hang out, a small outdoor space, in the back, and multiple floors. I was in a hostel in many states, this one is my favorite. Headed back to DC tonight can't wait to come back see family, eat and take in a show, Great experience

The hostel is clean, there is a system that the owners maintain so its not chaos. This is a hostel so you get a bed in a room, rooms are large so there is a decent space between beds. The reception staff is very friendly, you can ask them anything and they will gladly help. The hostel has a reception room where all guests can get together and talk. Also there is a big screen tv with netflix. I stayed for 8 days and will rate it 5 star

This was my first hostel experience ever and NY Moore Hostel blew me away. The front desk attendant was extremely helpful, showed me around and made me feel welcome. I was nervous the hostel experience would be overwhelming and from the moment I walked in the doors I felt at ease. The hostel is very well kept and clean. The art work all over the walls gives the place a homey feel. I stayed in a women's dorm with 4 beds, and the room was large and the locker was perfectly sized to be able to fit my bookbag and purse. I did not bring a padlock for the room's locker and was able to purchase one at the front desk upon arrival. The bathroom located in the room was clean and spacious and I was happy the front desk provided a clean towel. There was ample street parking outside of the hostel and plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance. The entire experience was pleasant and I will definitely be back again. If you are looking for a more reasonable accommodation in NYC than air bnb & hotel prices definitely give NY Moore Hostel a try!

Stayed here for a few days this week, really great service and location. All of the workers are very professional and knowledgeable about the area and I felt very safe each night I stayed. I'd definitely recommend them if you just need a bed to sleep in after exploring Brooklyn and the surrounding area

  • 4/5 Nathaniel de V. 1 year ago on Google
Rooms are large and spacious, even with a couch or two. However your individual bed isn't too private, just spaced far apart than the others. Nice and clean for sure. Would have liked to see the adventures in the games room more well taken care of, as well as larger lockers in the rooms. Would recommend staying here.

I enjoyed my stay at NY Moore Hostel. I felt safe and comfortable during my trip. Workers were very nice and friendly. The beds were very comfortable. The hostel is 20 to 30 minutes outside of NYC. It is very easy to take the subway or lyft/uber around the city.

It’s for sure one of the cheaper options when travelling to NYC, but that shouldn’t mean that you’re not taking proper care over the place. The kitchen is barley equipped and the “gaming room” is a joke. The room was okay. Our bathroom had flys in the drain which was disgusting. The neighbourhood is pretty cool though and Manhattan is not to far.

The location wasn’t bad but the hostel itself was kind of dead. There were not that many people to hangout with in the lobbies. Also, they charged me a late checkout fee when I was only a half hour late.

I stayed here in a 5 bed room for two nights for roughly around 85 dollar each night. I stayed at a cheaper ones with 8 bed before in NYC and at one for like 100 each night in a 6 bed but bunk bed room and I liked the NY Moore the most. It's cozy and for me it makes a huge difference to not sleep in a bunk bed! Super clean, helpful service, nice lounge with free tea and coffee. I didn't brought a lock for the lockere, but they let me keep my stuff in their storage room everytime I would leave the hostel what was great!

The staff was excellent at this property and the tourist information available was great. While the hostel was close to multiple metro stations, the area itself was not very active. The mattresses were hard and the Wi-Fi/ data signal was not reliable. Otherwise it was a great experience.

Large beds and lots of space in the rooms. Coffee available in the commons and a nice patio overlooked by balcony rails. Staff are friendly and personable; ready to make recommendations. Vibrant murals cover the inside and outside of the building.

I would live 5 star but we had very rude customer service, only 2 of them were very nice, but the guy with the dread was always annoyed about asking us simples question. Felt like he was always in a bad mood and it reflected on customers. Too bad really, couse the location and the hostel are really good!

I really enjoyed my stay here! Travelling from Toronto to Brooklyn by bus cost more than my 3 night stay. The hostel is nicely decorated with graffiti art and murals all through the building. There’s also free coffee provided as an amenity, a computer room, and a beautiful lounge with a library full of interesting books. My sleep wasn’t the greatest as I had a snoring roommate, but that’s a risk one agrees to when staying in a hostel. The environment felt safe and comfortable and the staff were all super friendly and helpful. My credit card got blocked by my bank, as I hadn’t told them I was out of the country, and staff graciously allowed me to borrow a phone to call my bank and have the issue resolved. There’s TONS of great vegan places to eat within 10 minute walking distance - I’d recommend Dun-Well Doughnuts and Amituofo. Overall a wonderful experience and if I ever plan to return to Brooklyn, I’d definitely stay here again!
