I had a wonderful time on both of my Free Tours by Foot! I took the Chinatown/Little Italy food tour with Kathleen and the East Village food tour with Jon. Both were phenomenal. I got a lot of historical information and delicious food on both tours. They give you the inside tips on the best food and bring the city to life. They know the back story to all the beautiful and interesting buildings/parks/locales. You'd just walk past these things unknowingly most likely otherwise. Both Kathleen and Jon demonstrated impeccable planning and coordination to order and get the food, along with providing an interesting tour. I definitely couldn't do both as well as they do! I paid $20 for the tours. These are very hard working people and that felt like a great deal to me, comparatively. From asking around this felt like a fair amount compared to what others were going to pay. One older couple told me they have taken Free Tours By Foot for many years and they've all always been amazing. Do it!

Great sunset tour of Brooklyn bridge and dumbo with John on Sunday, it was absolutely pouring rain at the start but John reassured us that he would give us the full tour regardless of the weather for turning up and that is exactly what he did, we had a great time and thankfully just as we were crossing the Brooklyn bridge the rain stopped and didn’t return for the remainder of the tour. Will definitely recommend to our friends or family.

It was a wonderful tour through Brooklyn heights and the Brooklyn bridge with John. We truly can recommend it and we would do it again if we are in New York for another great vacation. We loved the story’s about Brooklyn heights and the Brooklyn bridge.

We booked the Midtown Manhattan Free Walking Tour by Foot for Thursday night. Our guide, "wandaful" Wanda, was amazing! Fun, informative, full of knowledge for NYC, she led our group with a passion. The 2-hr tour started at Grand Central Terminal and ended at the Rockefeller Center. It was one of the highlights of our 3-day trip to NYC. Check out their scheduled free tour walks early, as they book out quickly. Highly recommend!

Our Tour Guide John Gallagher was so informative and friendly. I learnt so much about New York City and the history of Brooklyn. The scenery at that time of day was spectacular. John gave great tips on more things to see in the city and good places to eat after the tour had finished. i will be booking another tour with Free Tours by Foot due to this great experience. It was great to have a tour with a local who really knows the city.

We did the holiday lights tour last week while in NYC and it was AMAZING!!! We did it the first night we arrived and I’m so glad we did. We were able to see everything we wanted to see. Jon was our tour guide and he did an excellent job telling us history about certain places as well. He took lots of pics for us which we really appreciated! He even got us in the lobby of The Plaza!!! Even if it was only for a few minutes :))) This is our 3rd tour by this group and we’ve never been disappointed.

I did two of these tours in Downtown and Little Italy and China Town with Lori and John. Both tours were fun, informative, and had some really good stories about NYC people. I recommend everyone to take Free Tours by Foot when you will visit NYC. Also I had fun time on Food tour with Jon in Little Italy and China Town. I had a great tour of Mid section Central Park with Kyle and absolutely loved!

Kyle was a great tour guide. He was personable and interesting. I went with my in laws who were visiting from out of town, but as a New Yorker, I learned a lot too. Such a great way to see a neighborhood. I'll definitely take another.

Jon was an excellent guide for our Chinatown food tour. Very knowledgeable, personable and a great sense of humor too. He patiently answered all our questions and made sure we all had a good time during the tour. He kept us safe as we crossed busy streets and engaged as he shared fun facts about the food and the area. Highly recommend!

Lower East Side Food tour! You gotta go. Jon is an excellent guide. Learn history and eat delicious food like knishes, pickled mango, bagel with lox, and fried dumplings! Also check out the Brooklyn Bushwick Street Art tour with Mar. He breaks down the history of graffiti and walks through the mural district. Five stars for both. Highly recommend!

John was with a lot of passion to do this tour - he gave as a lot so important information about Brooklyn , took us through beautiful places and basically I had so much fun in this tour. I highly recommend to do this tour specially with Jhon.

Thanks to Lady Altovise for a fantastic tour of Harlem's history, music, art and the backdrop to slavery and race history in modern USA. We had a great morning and are richer for it. Also excellent Jamaican Jerk Chicken truck recommendation. Thanks.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Jon through the holiday lights of NYC. The tour was filled with great facts, jokes, & recommendations for various eateries & places to check out. We planned our trip to NYC to see the Christmas lights & are so glad we booked this tour because we checked out areas we had no idea existed! We highly recommend free tours by foot & Jon!

We took a 2hr walking tour of Brooklyn with John Gallagher. It is the best way to discover Brooklyn. John was a great tour guide with lots of knowledge of the various buildings and sites along the way. Highly recommend that you go on a walking tour with him.

We had an excellent Brooklyn bridge sunset walking tour guided by John. He was very knowledgable and told many interesting stories along the way. He took us to some amazing spots for photos which we would never have found in our own. Highly recommended

We took the Soho, Little Italy and Chinatown tour in New York last week. Our guide Jon was just brilliant. Not only did his knowledge of the districts bring the history to life, but his professionalism in keeping us all safe (from traffic and cyclists, mainly) was first rate. I only wish we'd been in the city long enough to do more tours with Free Tours By Foot. Outstanding

John was a wonderful tour guide. Very knowledgeable and personable. We really enjoyed the tour and highly recommend the Grand Central Station one. He provided a lot of small, historical tidbits that we otherwise would not have known.

Great company to tour with around nyc. Garrett was extremely informative and it seemed as if he knew lordly everything about nyc without making it seem too boring. Would 100% recommend and would go again if I had the time. Garrett was very funny and patient with the group, even if things went wrong such as subway trains getting cancelled he still knew what to do and he made it seem like this was planned. The only thing I would suggest is that the company stopped telling people how long the tour would be incase something goes wrong.

Great tour today with Jon on lower east side four tour. Yummy stops. And he got us some great prices on food. Jon is also super knowledgeable about NYC!

Highly recommend the Grand Central walking tour. So much history and great views of this building inside and out plus surrounding buildings. John G was excellent. Learned so much in the time spent on the tour. Can't say enough good things.

We took the Brooklyn bridge twilight tour in April and it was excellent! Our guide Meredith really knew her stuff, told us a lot of interesting facts (especially about the tragic story surrounding the bridge, but also more) and was able to answer most of our questions. Would definitely recommend! We also took the Harlem walking tour with Ryan and I’ve rarely learned that much in such a short time - about the history, culture and architecture of Harlem, but also of NYC as a whole - he really managed to make it all come together. Extremely informative and enjoyable!

Took the Brooklyn Sunset tour with John. It was an outstanding tour. John was so knowlegeable. We learned far more than we could have learned from a travel guidebook. Learned about the Underground Railroad. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to learn about Brooklyn both present and past histories. Thanks again John! We also had a Downtown Manhattan Tour with Nick He was also a wealth of information in that he made the tour so much fun learning about that area. He really made us reflect about 9/11. We also got to try cuisine in Chinatown. He gave us great tips about the rest of the week in New York. Another tour to highly recommend. Thank you so much Nick for a great tour!

Hubby and I took a tour with John Gallagher through SOHO, Little Italy, and Chinatown. John is a fabulous tour guide and provided plenty of history and information about the area with colorful stories and plenty of personality. We love Free Tours by Foot and have taken many not only in NYC but San Francisco, and Boston. We highly recommend them to all our friends. Bring your walking shoes, $5 for delicious fried dumplings, and get ready to enjoy. Tip generously, these guys are worth it.

We just got back from NYC and had a wonderful time doing all the touristy things. But the one thing we agreed on and loved the most were the free walking tours by foot! Thanks to this page I never would have know about them and I'm so glad I did! On Sunday we did the lower east side food tour with Josh. He was interesting and engaging with his history (a former history teacher and native of NYC for his whole life) and the food was so good! We opted to buy extra at almost every place we visited. Thanks Josh! On Monday it was raining alot but we decided to brave it and met Lori (the amazing admin for this page) for the Chinatown and Little Italy food tour. Once again we were not disappointed! Even the rain couldn't dampen our spirits! The food was unbelievable and again we left with bags of extras to have for later! Thanks Lori! Monday night we took the Holiday Lights Tour with Meredith. She was very knowledgeable and we learned alot. The lights we got to experience were magical and lovely! Unfortunately by the time we got to Macy's I had gotten a painful blister on my toe and we called it a night. Thanks Meredith! On our next trip we will be planning more tours! Plan it! You won't be disappointed!

Altovise, Kyle, Nick and John gave us lots of interesting information about the city. Such nice and fun lady and guys and guides. Great tour! I was concerned 6 hours would be tiring, but it went by fast! Would recommend as a intro to NYC. Covered many lower Manhattan disticts and a variety of history. May take other tours if time allows. Re: New York One Day Tour with Kyle

I joined 3 tours with Kyle, Lori and John and it was amazing. The guides are very knowledgeable and passionate. They have so many things to tell about this city. It's the best thing I did in NYC. There are so many tours you can join. I joined Soho & Chinatown, Chelsea & High Line and Manhattan Night Walk. I totally recommend them. They are the best and they give you the liberty to pay whatever you feel like, for high value experience.

Amazing walking tours. Had the opportunity to complete three tours, Downtown Manhattan, Greenwich Village and Brooklyn Bridge/ DUMBO. I was guided on all three by Renee who was excellent. She had great local knowledge and interesting stories which you would never know by just looking up areas online. Highly recommend when you want to add that local insight when exploring New York!!

We did two walking tours this week and LOVED both of them! John’s twilight Brooklyn Bridge and Brooklyn heights tour was magical and the stories totally fascinating. It’s clear he loves his city! Kyle’s Central Park tour was also awesome with such an amazing range of history and great humour with every stop! For any part of the city, FreeTours delivers. Highly recommend!!

Did the All In One Central Park tour which was amazing! Tour guide Kyle was very friendly and informative and showed us areas of the park we wouldn’t normally go to, plus all the beautiful, classic areas. Would highly recommend and it’s a really great way to explore NYC!

This was our first time taking a walking tour. Free Tours by Foot is a great choice and value. Kyle is an awesome guide. He is very knowledge and makes the tour interesting with funny anecdotes. The pace of the tour is perfect.

We had a great time on the Central Park tour with Kyle. He was very welcoming and knowledgeable. His passion for the history and stories of the park really shows as he takes you through the tour. One lady in our group was a local who had been in the park 'hundreds of times' and saw places she had never seen before. Definitely recommend this tour to anyone wanting to learn some history while enjoying the beauty of the park!

I love Free Tours by Foot tours & their guides. I have completed many tours over the past 12 years mainly in New York but also other cities The easiest way to get to know a city is from a tour with a local guide. You meet people from all over the globe on your tour and get a very knowledgeable and talented guide.
