there’s a reason why i come nearly every week since i moved here in january of 2023. the times where i felt my loneliest and had no one to talk to, the baristas here not only answered my dumb questions about moving to the city, but genuinely cared about what i’ve been up to and how i’ve been. all of the baristas and workers here are some of the the kindest, sweetest, down to earth individuals i’ve met. and the espresso is SO GOOD, the best in the city. perfectly balanced without tasting too powerful and bitter, and not watery like many cafes these days. their olive oil cake is a staple!! sweet and rich. seriously, come here if you’re in the area.

Great little cafe in the LES that serves up a very solid latte. Loved the thick foam and dark roasted flavor - just the thing to get me going for the day. They also make an olive oil cake that’s really nice.

Little hard to find because a tree blocks their sign. It’s to the left of the Tokio7 shop down a couple steps. You’ll see big white outside-seating umbrellas in front of the store. Service was pretty quick. Whatever espresso bean they use is VERY good because the latte I got was one of the best I’ve had in NYC. Highly recommend this place for any coffee fanatic. The vibes in the cafe were very lax, highly recommend “dine-in” if you go with your friends. Keep in mind there’s a no outside food policy here.

Was hesitant to come after seeing reviews of poor staff experiences, and sadly my visit fell short as well. I’m happy to accommodate the “no outside food” policy, but we were very publicly called out to not use a jam we got at the farmers market on a scone we had purchased (+ 2 coffees) while inside Abraço… it seemed like a stretch and rather rude. I’d recommend taking your order to go if you visit, especially if you’d like to enjoy your order how you please. Doubtful I’ll be returning.

I stopped in here randomly when the sudden craving for coffee hit. Boy am i glad i did! A very nice relaxing ambiance. It wasn't busy at all when I visited. Service was great as well. The size of the coffee was small but it was strong and tasted good. However, they don't have any skim milk if that is your preference. I would definitely come back.

Little hard to find, and it’s weird that they’ve taken the “hipster coffee shop” idea to the next degree, where they went full circle with the alternative milk options (regular milk to -> almond milk only to -> ten milk options to -> regular milk only). I really like the design and decor though, and if there was space I would have dined in. The olive oil cake was really good, and my simple syrup iced latte (regular milk only) was really good too. I’d gladly come back, recommended.

Coffee spot in East Village. Pastries is so fresh and delicious everything baked fresh daily. Coffee is freshly roasted so it’s fresh and delicious. Place is just friendly and inviting to hang out with friends and family. Good amount of seating area outside.

It all seems to come together here: really elevated espresso (we drank cortado, iced latte and sparkling espresso - pictured), superlative bakery (oven fresh fritata, babka - pictured), open natural light blending with indoor ambience, style and comfort, good people. No dogs, no laptops. Extremely cool.

We made a quick stop for coffee and olive oil cake for take out here. The cake was moist and tasted pretty good.

Shame. Anybody who knows anything about coffee can attest to how horrendously the milk was steamed on my cortado (pictured). I'm a former barista. It's not that hard to steam milk correctly. Get the basics correct if you want a good reputation.

One of the best coffee I had in NY! Their moka and olive oil cake are just out of this world ! The place was really busy but we managed to score a table on a sunday.

There is no better espresso in this city HANDS DOWN. It is so well balanced and done SO WELL. When I lived in this region, I tried to come here everyday because sitting outside with an espresso and a book just hits so hard. They only have whole milk, so don’t bother asking for anything else. And all their cakes and pastry’s should be gotten every time. I’ve tried their coffee beans as well for my espresso and their pretty good.

Good coffee, retro and local coffee shop vibes. They had a piccolo latte which was good.

My new favourite coffee shop in the East Village. The vibes are incredible, staff are super knowledgeable, stylish and friendly. The iced latte was AMAZING. I never get coffee without simple syrup or some kind of sweetener, but the iced latte was amazing on its own. Highly recommend. Only $5.25 before tip, too.

The coffee is ok, nothing special. They don't offer a variety of milks for lattes. The staff is arrogant, don't care to make the slightest accommodation (a beneath them kinda attitude). Really unfortunate, I have spoken to the owner a few times and he seems like a very jovial guy to hire such arrogant people front facing. A note to the owner, please stop with the nonsense of not offering variety of milks, it is the proper thing to do.

A nice coffee shop in the East Village. Latte is strong and balanced, the perfect cup to wake up a sleepy afternoon. Macchiato is potent as well, revealing the great beans from which it is made from. Simple seating, a communal table, few sitting and standing tables. Service is fast. Wait time not too long despite constant in-flow of customers. Cash only.

As a coffee lover, this place has it all. A perfect cortado, some nice pastries, friendly service, cozy ambience to enjoy the flavors sights, smell and taste. The place also has a vinyl record playing that added to the already wonderful experience. Their olive oil cake was very good. Coffee fantastic!

Unique, fun, and CHATTY coffee shop. The atmosphere of Abraço is hard to recreate; it’s bustling, diverse, and loud, sometimes a little too noisy. Variety of seating is nice, but it can be hard to get a seat. Patio seating is adorable and cute outside. Now for the coffee…Abraço only uses Brazilian roasts, which is rare in the coffee world, but the darker roasts may not cater to every palette. Love that the drip coffee is pourover only…that being said the drip coffee is dark roast and not great…the worst tasting artisanal coffee! Pourovers are great ways to bring out the unique flavors of a light or medium roast coffee, so you really don’t need to make a dark roast with a pourover method. It’s a strange product choice. Coffee score: 3/5. Everything else score: 4.5/5. Overall score: 4/5.

This hidden treasure of dark liquid gold is a must if you are a coffee enthusiast. Their dark, bold, and rich coffee beans are perfect to keep you going throughout the city. The baristas are wonderful at their craft and will whip you up whatever you’re brewing for.

Warning: the owner of this place has an attitude that put people off from wanting to go back. Waiting in line for my coffee while the owner kept urging a customer to leave, despite the fact that she’s already packing up and apologizing for not seeing the “no laptop” sign outside. As she’s walking out, he said “there’s The Bean on 3rd street, you’d love it” in a sarcastic way. I believe any shop has the right to their own rules, but kindness and politeness shouldn’t be selective.

Great selection of coffee and lovely baked goods. Baristas were also super helpful in explaining some of the lesser known coffee selections.

I go to Abraco for their olive oil cake. Their olive oil cake is amazing -- 5/5. It is flavorful and moist. I usually just pick it up and go and that process is very seamless.

Hip spot with relaxing vibes to grab coffee. There's seating inside the building, some more right outside it but within the fences and even some more outside the fences.

Hot chocolate wasn’t as rich as I thought but the whipped cream on top was amazing. The atmosphere is so nice too

Delicious coffee! Highly recommend. Great atmosphere with plenty of places to lounge for a few minutes in between activities!

Very good coffee and a small selection of snacks. The olive oil cake is really good! It's a tiny place so expect to enjoy your coffee standing up if you go during peak hours.

Tried an espresso there. There’s a small outdoors seating area, and didn’t seem like there was seating indoors. Ok service, price, taste. Wouldn’t mind coming again and also didn’t get anything exceptional about it. Perhaps I needed to try something else on the menu.

One of my favorite coffee shops in the city. Can’t go wrong with coffee, but my favorite is the hot chocolate. 6 years ago I came in as a naive, doe-eyed young man. I didn’t see the half erased note on the back mirror saying no laptops. I would like to thank the staff member for yelling at me for taking my laptop out because that moment has moulded me into the wiser, confident man I am today. In a way, I grew up in this coffee shop

Great coffee and pastry, friendly barista, warm store ambient. Abraco is everything you expect (or even more) from a great coffee shop to start your day bright. The only problem here is that the seating is somewhat limited, especially during a busy period.
