Really good coffee with a knowledgeable barista and great roast (Passenger Coffee Roasters). Not a large space to sit in, though - might not be the best place to work from.

Possibly the best coffee in Manhattan. Very friendly staff, and the pastries are delicious.

This is my favorite coffee shop in the neighborhood. This is the coffee geek's coffee shop, you can learn and try all different types of beans from multiple producers. The staff is very knowledgeable and takes their time to make you a delicious coffee each time you visit. Definitely worth a visit.

Box kite is a short walk from the 72nd street subway stop. The coffee here is incredible, but the space is tight so grab a to-go lid, but wait the lids don’t fit correctly on the small, so get a large. Walk in on a Monday morning to be greeted by screamo/metal, which is jarring but hey... it’s Monday. You pour your own milk out of a fancy glass bottle that crowds the countertop where payment, beverages and pastries happen. Get the vegan ginger and strawberry muffin. Box kite isn’t trying to be anything fancy, it’s unashamed approach to badass coffee will keep me stopping in whenever I am in the neighborhood.

I love how tiny this place is. It's as big as it needs to be. Just wide enough for me to go in with the stroller get my coffee and back on out. Everyone there is always very friendly, helpful and patient when you can't make up your mind or need some advice. This one of my favorite coffee shops in the city, because most importantly, the coffee is awesome!

A miniscule coffee shop offering unbelievably good espresso. I'd been to their prior space in the East Village and I'm happy to report that their new location hasn't lost the quality. It's worth veering off course a couple of blocks to seek them out over settling for one of the many other coffee shops nearby, but accept that you'll be drinking your espresso Italian-style; that is, standing.

Had a really delightful single origin Ethiopian espresso and a latte with a memorable set of origin flavor notes that showed up on top of the milk without being weird or overpowering. Solid specially shop to be sure. The place is tiny and pleasantly grungy. Perfect.

Best coffee I’ve found in New York. Hole-in-a-wall place - so not the ideal location for cosying up with a book, but incredible coffee.

Fantastic coffee. Great espresso drinks, friendly service, usually cool music. A little tiny "hole in the wall" place, so not much space to sit... however, they serve one of the best coffee in the city. Definitely the best on the Upper West Side. Enjoy!

Tiny spot but great coffee, came on a Sunday afternoon and was pleased to not find a crowd. Doesn't have a big selection of pastries, so just came for the coffee. Will def stop by again.

Absolutely superb coffee shop. The baristas there have excellent pallets and take such excellent care in brewing and constructing their drinks. If you want a delicious espresso drink, this is the shop for w. If you’re interested in discovering amazing beans with expressions of craft and terroir, this is the place for you. If you want baristas to be efficient cause you have to catch that 2 train, this is the place for you. Five stars because there’s no way to give 6!

It's just a block away from this welcoming coffee shop. At school, the atmosphere is friendlier and more student-centered. Since it provides more elegant breakfast, lunch, and dinner dining options, I'll refer to it as the nearby Starbucks. The interior is cramped but well-designed, with a small band of patio chairs. I'll be back for sure!

The the coffee here is amazing. However, it's tiny. This isn't the kind of place to comfortably lounge in. I recommend that you get your coffee to go. I've gotten cortados, cappuccino, and plain black coffee. They're all amazing. The pastries are good as well so feel free to grab some food on your way out.

I love this coffee shop! I can really tell this place takes care of its employees and costumers which I love. The coffee and food are both so delicious and tasteful. This is perfect for a date, study, and other business meetings. All of the staff are always ready to assist and knows exactly what they are doing. This is one of a kind experience. Highly recommended!

Straight up excellent coffee! Farm to cup, clean beans with gorgeous tasting profiles! Coffee geeks? This is for you. Tiny establishment, one barista / cashier Sunday morning.. but she slayed with a smile and great attitude!

A+ coffee. My wife ordered a latte and we're pretty sure it was a cappuccino but she didn't even care because it tasted so good. I will come back. It's a perfect cozy spot for two people to enjoy a cup together. And too small for a laptop at most of the seats so there's no annoying people working here like it's their office.
