Get here early for your 8pm show if you want a table. Arrived at doors (6pm) and had the an amazing seat. Although some seat were reserved, ticket master did not offer any reserved seating... It may have been sold out. The show acoustics were fantastic, I have spent many drunken nights across the street and did not know this gem existed. I grabbed a burger which was fantastic and a couple of drinks. I the drinks are a bit pricey but it's a club so it's not the place to try and tie one on. Our server was also amazing I was so caught up in the atmosphere I forgot to get their name. Overall a great experience, regardless of musical preference definitely stop by the blue note.... Shout out to Jose James for a killer show

Great experience. The seating is SUPER tight though. It was uncomfortable to be so close to others during the show. The music was so good. We saw Cory Henry. He was a great performer and the sound was excellent. Would definitely see him again. They have a $20 minimum so we got a drink and dessert. The tickets ended up being $126 for two and we got them ahead of time.

This was my first time visiting this jazz club and I loved it! I sat right in front and watch Chris Botti perform and it was awesome. We only tried their calamari and drinks, but everything was good and our waitresses were all very nice. I’d definitely like to return when the pandemic ends; the seating was a little too close for comfort even though you have to show your vax card and ID before you come in. Still a great time, I highly recommend!

Loved it! If you are looking for a cozy jazz concert with a table just for you 2 this is rather not the place for you. But if you are looking to enjoy some great music with other people and to experience the best jazz club ever while snacking and drinking- this is definitely the place to be! Make sure you get there early to be seated at the table of your preference. Also I recommend taking a scarf or a sweater as the temperature is rather low.

What a crazy intimate venue; there is no bad seat. We arrived early to get choice seating, and to enjoy a pre-show dinner. The food was good, a little pricey perhaps, but delicious. The highlight was really the show, though. The night we were there we caught The Bad Plus....and they were phenomenal....but so was the lineup for the rest of the month.

Legendary, Historic Jazz venue. The elevated stage gives everyone a view of the stage. Tight and comfortable, the wood tables seat 6 people. Ordering seating, you have to take in consideration that you will be sharing a table. The sound is impeccable, clear and conductive, as one can hear and feel the music. I prefer to sit, at the bar. The bar provides more personalized service. Also there is enough room to be comfortable, while eating and drinking. The view from the bar I'd also recommend. Perfect destination for drop off or other transportation.

This was my first time at Blue Note and while I expected the space to be tight; it was extremely tight and clustered as most table seating appeared to be about 6 people to a table. As you can imagine, not hardly enough elbow room to move or even consider eating. The policy requires a $20 f&b minimum per person which is fine but it is also proven a little difficult to do so when you don’t have much table to actually enjoy a meal (if that’s what you ordered). Don’t plan to have a full meal in this environment especially if you are a bit particular about germs. Go for a drink and leave it at that. I consider the room size of Blue Note to be a large bar that is perhaps railroad style. It’s limiting. This is just in regards to spacing and enjoyment. The talent and music is the true highlight and gem in this space. Either way, plan wisely and perhaps keep hand sanitizer and/or a mask handy given the uptick of upper respiratory illnesses rising. Precautionary measures would be wise in such a confined space! I even joked they if you had to go to the restroom-GOOD LUCK! Once you are seated, you will probably never move again until the show ends. BUT, Chris Botti was great along with his special guests! The performance itself, 10 out of 10! The venue though historic, 5 out of 10.

Chris Botti was fantastic! The accompanying entertainers were absolutely amazing!!! Definitely a must when in NYC. The bartender was unbelievable. He held the entire place on his own and no matter how busy he got, he always managed to serve your drink with a smile and keep it altogether. Drinks were great. Did not try the food. Just a note that the tables are in fact extremely tight. We paid for table seats but decided to sit at the bar. Way too tight at the tables unless you arrive once the doors open at 6:00 p.m. for the 8:00 p.m. show and have a better chance at sitting at a table where you're not feeling claustrophobic. Overall, loved it!

This is the second time I’ve been here, the first time I saw Stout and she was Fantastic on my goodness. But the second time I went I ordered a non alcoholic drink and what I received was a drink with alcohol in it, very strange. There is also a $20 minimum for each person at every table even after paying $40 for a ticket to get in. Music was great, I was so happy to see Phony Ppl live in concert and this was I think the perfect place to see them! They were chill after the show and I got to take a picture with Elbee Thrie and I got all their signatures on my program! They were all fantastic but the service there is interesting. There were two girls with us at the table that stent charged but we’re told about the $20 minimum. I understand the concept because I’ve sang at places like Don’t Tell Mama but I wish they would be consistent because I didn’t want to spend $40 more dollars after spending almost $100 for the tickets. But yeah the vibes are great and I had a good time despite all the money I spent.

Came for first time to this legendary place and was beyond pleased. We watched Cuban funk band Cimafunk and I have never felt such a high from listening to live music. The space is very intimate and makes for a really intimate connection w the music and the musicians. Best time ever!

One of my favorite venues in the NYC area. This place is absolutely legendary. The food and cocktails are pretty expensive. Portions are kind of small but the cocktails are really good. The service isn’t always the greatest but the atmosphere in the venue and event selection is always worth the time and money to go there. You will not see live music like This anywhere else. This is a very special venue that I have a lot of good memories in.

Went to Blue Note for my Birthday. Host was amazing and attentive. Their signature Blue Martini was good! We ordered The fried calamari which I felt was undercooked because the outside was not crunchy. As an entrée I ordered the pork loin which was very bland and overpriced. The place was sold out so it was very crowded and the band was really good. However we got there for 6 PM to have an appetizer cocktails and dinner and the band was to start at 8 PM however they did not start until 8:35 PM which I find inexcusable. Blue Note had a 10:30 PM show which means you had to be out probably by 10 PM so they can set up for the next set of guests . I don’t feel it was worth the money because the food is not that great and the show did not start on time even though they were really good . I traveled out of state for this and most likely will not do it again. I do understand that not everything can start on time but at the same time I don’t understand how you can take my money in a timely fashion, however, your performers and your place cannot start timely. If you are going to the Blue Note in New York City purely for the music then I would say it’s worth it. As far as food is concerned, I will stick to cocktails and an appetizer.

I really want to like this place. And maybe we will try an evening show? The Harlem Gospel Choir was awesome. But our experience for brunch was less than stellar. The tables are too small and way to crowded for food service. It’s uncomfortable for just sitting. The sound was way way to loud for gospel music. My watch regularly was warning me of 100+ db. For an intimate setting like this, it’s a bit ridiculous. The food tasted ok but nothing stellar. Then there was our waitress. She barely acknowledged our table. We ordered through the app as recommended. She didn’t even deliver the food. We asked for water. She said it would be a while unless we wanted to buy sparkling water. We said no we just wanted tap water. She said ok. BUT she never brought it. We asked 2 more times. Again she refused to bring it. The table on the next section, their waitress brought the whole table glasses of water. The table behind us had pitcher of water. I’m not sure why she refused to serve us. I recognized the other waitresses regularly checking on their tables. Again this may have been an isolated incident with an individual waitress. But we weren’t impressed overall.

First time trying Blue Note and it was amazing. They required minimum purchase of $20 or $25 per person. Don’t remember exactly but it is better to order some food and drinks to meet the minimum amount. The jazz play was amazing as people explained in other reviews. The servers were kind and the payment system is done with the apps. Great place.

We had an incredible time at Blue Note Jazz Club! The atmosphere was truly amazing, creating the perfect ambiance for a night of live music. The performances were outstanding, showcasing the talent and artistry of the musicians. The friendly staff added to the overall experience, making us feel welcome and taken care of throughout the evening. I can't wait to return for another unforgettable night of jazz!

We had heard of this place as a legendary place for world act performances, so we decided the come. The space is not as big and they have a whole lot of tables to accommodate as many people as possible, so that made it seem very tight and cramped. The staff seemed overwhelmed by the amount of people and food that needs to be made and brought to the tables, but they were very kind and professional throughout. In terms of the food, I must say it was extremely overpriced for what it was; the portions were ridiculously small for what we had to pay at the end. The only thing that made it all worthwhile was the Harlem Gospel Choir Performance. The singing was superb and engaging. If I were to come back, I’d spend money on drinks, enjoy the show and go eat somewhere else.

Went for a Cima Funk concert. Never been there before. It has a cozy/intimate type feel to it, but the place was extremely packed on that night. They tried to squeeze people into tables, and it was uncomfortable. A table for 4 would be turned into a table for 6. The food was on the pricey side, but good. The drinks were also good, not watered down. Service was good, we got our drinks/food rather quickly.

My experience was pretty much horrible. Had to wait outside in the rain for an hour, beyond the stated doors open at 10:00pm, to get in. We were limited in seating area, after we were informed, seating was first come, first served. The area we were forced to sit in was unsafely crowded and unacceptable for any type of event or dinner. This seating gave a whole new definition to rubbing elbows with your neighbors. We couldn't move left or right or even to comfortably drink a glass of water. Sadly, I will never attend another event at this place. The saving grace was the sound system and artist viewing, which were up close and personal. Nevertheless, I will not be back.

Finally made it to the iconic Blue Note Jazz Club! I recommend getting a reservation as this place gets packed out quickly and you may not have much luck waiting in the standby line. We didn’t eat but the food looks great. We caught DJ Logic who is “widely credited for introducing jazz into the hip-hop realms” and he did not disappoint. It was a 6 piece set with keys, sax, bass, guitar, drums, and DJ Logic orchestrating it all.

My favorite Jazz bar in NYC. Every concert is unforgettable, every artist that plays here is either already an established great in the jazz scene, or an emergent talent that you'll be able to experience before the rest of the world catches on to them. A must stop for any jazz fan visiting NYC

Such a great place to see and hear some of the best jazz musicians. Intimate and the acoustics are perfect. Tables are squeezed together...to tight for me, but the vibe is fantastic. Doors open 2 hours before showtime so can get something to eat from their eclectic menu. Great drinks 🍸 too!

A fabulous historic live music venue that is both atmospheric and intimate. We found the door staff to be a little rude but waitress staff were lovely. Had a table by stage and Butcher Brown were superb. A great venue for music in NYC.

Checked vax card and Id at the door. $1 coat check Website sells bar seating and also table seating, but the tables you are seated with other people on 2 tops out together to make rows of 4 or 6. So expect to make friends with other jazz lovers +1 for the creamy tiramisu

Top flight jazz club right in the heart of Greenwich Village. First rate talent of headliners and journeyman musicians. Full bar and good food and beverage selection. Intimate tables. Nice bar. Good air conditioning and ventilation systems. A very nice Gift Shop on the second floor.

A must-visit, iconic jazz club! The artists are not only phenomenal, but they also bring in unexpected guests that make for a fun, engaging experience. There is bar seating or table seating available, and I would definitely go for table seating as it is hard to see the stage from the bar. Seating is first come first serve, so I recommend coming in early (as early as an hour before to get drinks & bites) especially for the earlier shows. There is also a $20 minimum spend, although that is very easy to get to! Make sure to buy your tickets online prior. And again, get there early!

I can only comment on the atmosphere, I’m on a budget. The sound is excellent and I was way back in the corner of the bar. You can hear perfectly well over any chatter if there is any. Normally there’s not as everyone is fixated on the musicians. This club is famous in NYC and they seem to keep everything relaxed and elegant.

Be prepared. You will wait in line. You will be packed like sardines at a tiny table. Service will be slow. You will feel like you have to follow certain rules or get in trouble. But you will get something incredibly wonderful back in return. You will get to see a show at the intimate and magical Blue Note where the sound is perfect and artists tend to have some of the greatest sets they can remember. It is an honor for musicians to play here and likewise should be an honor to listen to music here. However, it comes in a awkward uncomfortable yet lovable package. Green room and gift shop is upstairs. Bar viewing area sucks, go with tables, show up way early. There’s a $20 min drink min, order two drinks at the same time and skip the food.

Some would say it’s a small, tight venue, but i think that’s exactly what a jazz club should be. Great sound quality for the show we went to see (Robert Glasper, absolutely did an amazing job). Leaving 4 stars because the food wasn’t as tasty as i would have liked. Cocktails were amazing. Expect typical NYC prices as well. Overall lovely time was had

Incredible jazz club. A historic venue well-deserving of its world renown. It's an intimate setting and most of the seating is a good view of the stage. They pack a lot of people in, so the seating arrangements can be really tight, especially right up against the stage, but it's worth it for the music. Dessert was good, but you come for the music, not the food. I saw Julius Rodriguez and his band perform here and will definitely be returning for other gigs.

Definitely not what I expected, the food was meh and kind of expensive. The sound and the artist they have on the billboard are top notch, the sound is also really good, but the place was totally overcrowded. We booked our tickets like 1 month before the show and got a lousy accommodation, we could barely see the band and had absolutely no room to move, the staff was really nice and professional. With all the offer of this type of places that NY has I would only come back here if the artist playing is reaaaaally worth it

I grew up listening to and playing jazz. Adding in that I’m from a jazz town—Kansas City—I was excited to hear some live jazz at the Blue Note. We were there on a night to see the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, and they got the party hype. While we had a great time watching the band, which is where the bulk of my stars come from, I do want people to understand that it is VERY cramped where they seat you. If your shoulders are more than 12” apart, assume you’re going to be half sitting in someone else’s lap…and they in yours. To fit at the table with the four strangers we sat with, I had one leg under the table and the rest of me was sitting in the walkway. The food was also just okay and quite expensive for what you get. Still, I’d probably go back and just not order any food because I do love some live jazz. You can see more of our experience on our YouTube travel channel: https://youtu.be/vy1mpf46WBw

Food is OK. Maybe a 3 1/2. It's not bad, but seriously, who cares? It's good enough to soak up your drinks and meet your spending minimum. It's delicious if you're into bar food. You're not here for the food anyway. You're here for amazing live music and to be so close to your favorite musicians that you can see the sweat off their brow and catch the spirit when that music hits your spinal cord!

  • 4/5 Kwame W. 2 years ago on Google
The music was amazing we came to see Robert Glasper, El debarge jumped onstage as a guest appearance the end of the night. Only complaint is how the seats are together in there is generally a lot of confusion when you order food or a drink But as a lover of music the overall experience was still good

  • 5/5 Britney Y. 1 year ago on Google
Very nice! Seating is first come first serve at a table for 6. Very close seating. Food is ordered via a menu app and delivered to the table. The show starts very promptly. It's easy to meet the $20 minimum as drinks are $17+. There may have been a $12 drink but I doubt it. Food is around the same price. I had wings. They were ok. Once you order on the app, you can't change your order since there isn't really anyone to talk to. You can try to ask the servers but they mostly deliver the food.

Just came back from a great show: the Dizzy Gillespie Afro-Latin Experience. Great energy and soulful music. Waitress Jess made us feel welcome. The food could be improved, but that is not the reason we visited.

  • 5/5 David L. 2 years ago on Google
Absolutely loved all the performances I've seen here at this club. The energy of the performers and even the people have always been super great. The live mix and acoustics of the room are great compared to other jazz clubs I've been to in the area. I recommend buying the table seat and lining up early. It's not hard to get a good table seat if you come early. The bar seats on the other hand seem to be next to the doorway, which is very far from the stage. I've always so engaged by the music and it always feels like the set flies by so quickly. I also love how frequent guest artists appear on stage. It's a treat, but it's not something you can expect at every show either. My only complaint is how expensive the food is for the quality. Guests are required to order a menu item, but I'd recommend just sticking to a basic drink. The food isn't particularly great and the drinks aren't bad but aren't outstanding either.

  • 5/5 Eric G. 2 years ago on Google

This was my first time visiting the Blue Note and it was AWESOME. It's a tight venue but once the music starts you don't really notice. Amazing shows for sure. But that should seating arrangement is horrible (sharing tables and sitting next to strangers closer than nyc subways) is quite uncomfortable even for a jazz lover from Tokyo who used to used to tight spaces. I would happily do it again for prof. Carter though.

  • 5/5 Foster 2 years ago on Google
This venue certainly earned it's well earned lore, it's stunning success in creating a personalized environment to enjoy some fantastic talent. I personally saw Cory Henry here and was plain and simple amazed. The smaller space made it feel like he was playing directly for my friends and I. I highly recommend The Blue Note for those who want a memorable experience.
