As
a
child,
I,
like
many
of
my
peers,
was
fond
of
the
books
of
Fenimore
Cooper,
I
loved
watching
films
about
Indians.
I
was
interested
in
their
culture,
customs,
I
was
impressed
by
the
courage
and
nobility
of
their
soldiers.
Having
learned
that
there
is
a
museum
of
American
Indians
in
New
York,
we
decided
to
definitely
visit
it.
The
museum
collection
is
quite
extensive,
it
contains
household
items
and
culture
of
indigenous
people
of
both
North
and
South
America.
Clothes,
weapons,
household
items,
jewelry,
many
photographs
telling
about
the
life
of
Indian
tribes
are
exhibited
here.
We
liked
everything
very
much.
The
museum
has
a
shop
selling
souvenirs,
including
those
made
by
the
descendants
of
the
first
inhabitants
of
this
content.
I
bought
several
souvenirs,
now
they
remind
me
of
a
museum
that
I,
a
Soviet
child,
could
not
even
dream
of
visiting.

В
детстве
я
,
как
и
многие
мои
сверстники
,
увлекался
книгами
Фенимора
Купера,любил
смотреть
фильмы
про
индейцев.
Мне
интересны
были
их
культура,
обычаи,
импонировало
мужество
и
благородство
их
воинов.
Узнав
о
том,что
в
Нью-Йорке
есть
музей
американских
индейцев,
мы
решили
обязательно
его
посетить.
Музейная
коллекция
довольно
обширная,в
ней
собраны
предметы
быта
и
культуры
коренных
жителей
как
Северной
так
и
Южной
Америк.
Здесь
выставлены
одежда,
оружие,
предметы
быта,
украшения,много
фотоматериалов
рассказывающих
о
жизни
индейских
племен.
Нам
всё
очень
понравилось.
В
музее
есть
магазин,
где
продаются
сувениры,в
том
числе
изготовленные
руками
потомков
первых
жителей
этого
контенента.
Я
купил
несколько
сувениров,
теперь
они
напоминают
мне
о
музее,
о
посещении
которого
я,
советский
ребенок,
не
мог
и
мечтать.
