Great food, comfortable atmosphere, and welcoming staff. Our server Brian was great and very helpful! All of the food (even the sushi!) is vegan, but don’t let this deter you if you’re not vegan. Nobody in our group was vegan, but we all thoroughly enjoyed everything we tried! This was our second time here, and we’ll definitely be coming back!

Beyond Sushi offers a culinary adventure with a unique twist on traditional sushi, but its execution leaves room for improvement. The sushi, though creatively crafted, disappoints with its thinly sliced components, diminishing the robust flavors expected from each bite. The delicate nature of the slices can make it challenging to fully appreciate the diverse ingredients in each roll. On a positive note, Beyond Sushi excels in presentation. The dishes are visually stunning, showcasing an artful blend of colors and textures that elevate the dining experience. The attention to detail in plating reflects the restaurant's commitment to aesthetic excellence. However, the overall ambiance is marred by a tight seating arrangement. The proximity of tables can make conversations feel uncomfortably public, detracting from the intimate experience one might seek in a sushi establishment. Beyond Sushi offers a visually captivating dining experience with a creative approach to sushi, but the thinly sliced nature of the rolls and the cramped seating arrangement detract from what could otherwise be an outstanding culinary destination.

Very tiny space, but the waiter was very kind to offer us bigger table for two. Philadelphia rolls is pretty good. Charred crab is too spicy for me

A MUST TRY! Highly highly recommend making reservations- the restaurant is quite small, if you want to fully enjoy your food better to have a table. Every single item on this menu was phenomenal The staff was very friendly, seated us quickly & everything came out in a timely manner! We will be back for you !

It's OK. The entire menu is vegan. Our server wasn't particularly friendly and returned several times to ensure he got the order correct (he did). Only one of the red wines by the glass was available. My partner loved the 'egg' on her ramen and it certainly had a lot of the texture and flavour of real eggs. For me the food was just bland, with the base of the ramen lacking spice and oomph. It might be earth the trip once for the vegan egg but I don't think we'd go back for more very often

It wasn't bad and the taste was fine, but we still aren't fans of sushi. The dumplings, however, were incredible. We would have been happy with just several orders of dumplings without the sushi, but it was still a good meal.

I went to Beyond sushi on May 26. I tried sweet treee and Mighty mushroom 🍄 Both taste healthy and yummy. Prices are also reasonable, only 9 dollars each! I was want to try spicy mang too. But It was my travel, so I’m back in Texas now. I hope later Texas also opens Beyond sushi. Try you will like it!

Must try 100% vegan restaurant! Dumplings were amazing & sushi was very good as well. We loved 5 Spice Chick'n & Ginger "Beef" so much - we ordered 2 round of 5 Spice Dumplings! Sushi - Spicy "Tuna" tasted very close to real Tuna & Mighty Mushroom was our favorite - tofu / black rice / 2 different types of mushrooms with a fantastic truffle sauce / topping! Located near South end of Central Park

Beyond Sushi is a fantastic restaurant for vegans. We tried the Coconut Curry, Shiitake Truffle, and Spicy Mango rolls, and they were absolutely delicious. Highly recommended for those seeking amazing vegan food! 😋😊

The tuna tartar, spicy avocado roll, and zalmon roll were incredible. Excellent spot for a quick bite, take away, or dining in. Everything is vegan and there are many gluten free options.

This Beyond Sushi is probably the only vegan eatery in the area. The place is casual and not very spacious, but it's always busy. The staff would kindly remind everyone who walked in to order that they served vegan food, not real sushi. Their services and food are good.

Came back twice in one week for the first time in over three years (i.e. since the pandemic), because some friends and I wanted a vegan spot to eat at before or after a show nearby at NY City Center. I was pleasantly surprised at how much the menu has expanded since then. There are so many more sushi-type rolls, all with unique combinations and ingredients, and they were all so good. I was so happy to have a Philadelphia roll again, which I haven't been able to have since going vegan, so this was quite the treat. And it tasted delicious! The Charred Avocado was also lovely and had a nice slight kick to it. But my favorite of the newer rolls I've tried is the Ube Crunch, one of their special rolls. Such a great combination of flavors and textures. My only minor issue is that most of the rolls don't have much protein in them. Despite having two rolls each time I came recently, I ended up feeling hungry not too long after. The "zalmon" and "tuna" are concoctions made from tapioca and other starches (I asked), so while they may look like their fishy counterparts, they don't have anywhere near the same nutritional value ... and are probably highly processed foods anyway. I noticed some of the other non-sushi items (like the dumplings and many of the shared plate dishes) are more prominent in protein, but most of those I can't have because they have too much gluten. So while the sushi rolls are fun to eat and are delicious, they're not as filling. Regardless, my non-vegan friends who came with me were happy with the food they had here, so that's a huge endorsement there.

One of my favorite restaurants in NYC, Beyond Sushi offers delicious, vegan food that I've been savoring for over 3 years. They have regularly experimented with their menu, and I'm happy to say most of not all of their experiments have paid off. Would highly recommend it!

This has been a wonderful experience full of amazing foods we got to try. The spicy jackfruit crab tasted just like an actual crab with a good kick into it. Also, the oyster mushroom baos were amazing with the fluffy bread, sesame seeds, and the soy sauce flavoured mushrooms. This has been a wonderful experience and we are definitely coming here back again.

Definitely on my list of go-to spots when I'm in NYC now.. 😍😍 AMAZING, everything was so delicious I don't even know what more to say but vegan or not, this is a great place for a bite anytime!! The Ube Cashew Cheesecake, my husband (non-vegan) and I literally had no words for, it was just so so delicious 😭😭 I could eat it every day. Shown in the photos, Shiitake Truffle Dumplings, Fried Chik'n Bao, Philadelphia Maki Roll, Spicy Jackfruit Crab Roll and Ube Cashew Cheesecake

Small but cozy place , Clean and neat! Fast service, nice staff, Good service. I'm not a fan of this kind of sushi but it was good. Good music. The only slight disadvantage is the dirty menu, I hope the guys fix it !

We ordered coconut curry soup - this was great and had the typical Thai flavor to it. If you guys cannot handle the soup on its own I would recommend getting a bowl of white rice which goes well with it. Then we ordered a Mighty Mushroom roll which was best among the Sushi menu. We also went with Glazed meatballs which wasn't great - the soy meatballs was okayish but overall the dish was poor. Definitely recommend this if someone wants to try a vegan restaurant and crave some sushi.

The chicken yakitori was seriously one of the best things I've ever tasted. The Philadelphia roll was also very good, as was the smoked oyster mushroom salad. Overall very impressed with the taste and presentation, especially considering that everything was vegan.

Cool place, good service, great for vegans. The ramen was tasty, but the noodles were very soft & for $22 (nearly $30 with tax & tip) I would expect it to be perfect. It did have an extremely accurate vegan fried egg so for any vegans craving an egg I would recommend. On the other hand, the curry soup was tasty & reasonably priced at $16, but it only had noodles & vegan chicken - as described to be fair, but would rather pay a couple more dollars for a couple more toppings!

One of a kind. The food here completely validated my veganism. I got the charred avocado roll and the mighty mushroom roll for the lunch special. The oyster mushroom and fried chick'n bao were delicious as well and dumpling, but the sushi was a tour de force!!

Food was incredible. Total vegan , fresh and delicious. Took a while to get out order but worth the wait. Restaurant is pretty small but we did get lucky and get a table for four.

A fantastic gem of a restaurant! Friendly, attentive staff, and sublime food. 100% vegan. The menu items were so creative and delicious. Enthusiastically recommend for vegans, and even for non-vegans- give it a try! You won’t be disappointed!

Impressive choice of vegan options. Super nice staff, chill vibe, good food. I would recommend Japanese / Asian music instead of the reggaton/Latino vibe through

My recent visit to Beyond Sushi left me with mixed feelings. The highlight of the experience was the excellent service provided by the staff. The menu offered a variety of options, and I decided to try their spicy tuna roll, which turned out to be really good and this is from a non-vegan. The blend of flavors and the freshness of the ingredients in the roll made it a truly enjoyable dish that I would order again. However, my excitement was dampened when I decided to give the shiitake truffle dumplings a try, it was a major letdown. The combination of shiitake mushrooms and truffle sounded appealing, but it was horrendous. The dumplings were sticky and the sauce was too thick. While the service and the tasty spicy tuna roll were definite highlights, the disappointing shiitake truffle dumplings left a sour taste. I hope that Beyond Sushi considers removing this item from their menu.

My fiancée heard about Beyond Sushi and has been dying to go. She’s vegan, I’m not, but we both love sushi. We were in the area for Electric Zoo and stopped by on Saturday. The restaurant was bright and clean, and just around the corner from touristy areas. The wait staff was extremely nice, even giving us a sample of that nights drink special. We ordered a spicy mango chili margarita, the cucumber drink (forget the name), the “beef” dumplings, and 4 sushi rolls. Everything was extremely delicious, brought to the table quickly, and fairly priced. I said some of these rolls tasted better than some real ones I’ve had. This type of food is what we wish existed in Upstate NY. Hopefully someday that will happen, but until then, we will be visiting Beyond Sushi in the city!

I ordered the sweet tree and spicy tuna roll for take out. The sweet tree was quite substantive in complexity and portion size but the spicy tuna fell apart easily when I picked it up, was small and not so impressive in taste. I only ordered two rolls but I wasn’t so impressed, especially considering other vegan sushi I have had in NY - and at lower price points. Having said that, nothing beats getting sushi from an all vegan kitchen. Just for that this place rocks.

Beyond Sushi is a must-visit for anyone looking for delicious and unique vegan sushi. The prices are fair, the staff is friendly and the atmosphere is lovely. Highly recommend!

Cozy little spot for a quick bite. Excellent service. Large portion of yummy miso soup. The sushi rolls are larger one might expect, so order appropriately. Best part of all? It’s 💯 percent vegan 🌱, so indulge yourself, my fellow plant-eaters!

Im a bit shy, but staff were superr friendly and patient, food was amazing! Soup was a perfect mixture of spicy and savory along with the sweet bits of mushroom. And the sushi was amazing as well! Its a small restaurant but somehow i still felt like i had my space. Highly recommend, this is the first restaurant where I would give 6 stars if i could.

I've always avoided vegan sushi because I've never had one that was worth it, but that changed here today. Beyond Sushi's options were absolutely delicious. The rainbow roll was exceptional and the mango spicy roll was excellent as well.

Food was delicious. Everything we had tasted great. HOWEVER, the restaurant is UNBEARABLY HUMID AND HOT. I would not come back to this location due to that reason alone. Staff is friendly. Seating space is limited. Food is served promptly.

This place is a vegan heaven. Both my kids, my hubby and I are vegetarians and finding great places to eat when out can be a challenge. This little place did not disappoint. We had dumplings, sushi, cauliflower bites, and the cheesecake for dessert. Everything was so delicious and the service was top notch. Vegans and non-vegans will love this place.

After "ok" wraps for 19 USD and average plates at other places in New York this was the most tasteful and reasonable priced experience we had in New York after three days. And stuff was very friendly. Highly recommended not only for vegans but also for example for pregnant women.

Cozy atmosphere with friendly and hospitable staff. Sushi and rolls were amazing! Best vegan sushi I have ever tried. Difficult to find such a peaceful oasis in Manhattan.

We found this cool place by accident and were really satisfied! The food was delicious and vegan! For midtown Manhattan and NYC in general, the prices were perfectly fine (10-15$ per person for food). I highly recommend the Cauliflower wings, which the sweet sour sauce :)

This place was tiny but in a cozy way. We had hands down some of the best food I’ve had anywhere ever. Even if you aren’t vegan you will love this food it’s all seasoned and balanced amazing. I can even explain. We ordered a lot and not a single scrap left behind. Efi, our server, was sweet and adorable. I wish we lived locally to go back 1000 times. Don’t waste another moment of your existence pre beyond sushi. Go to this location now.

We’re very happy to find this place. Don’t be put off by the modest front: the inside is charming, tasteful and neat. Even if you are not a plant based eater, try it! Our food was delicious. Great staff, quick service, and general manager Nancy was most welcoming and helpful

I went with my daughter who is vegan to your little but cozy place. Decent size dishes with good prices. I wish my mushroom dumplings were warm. Sushi were interesting and tasted good. We have been to Beyond sushi before, but different location which was much bigger, but got closed. We will definitely come by again!
