This is by far one of the best restaurants I've ever been to, let alone vegan restaurants. On the walk-in, you are transparent from the East Village in Manhattan to France! It's amazing! The ambiance, the food, the service, all of it is top notch indeed. I was thoroughly impressed. And let me tell ya'll about the food ... Sheeeeeesh!!!! So flavorful, so light, yet satisfying. Man. I can't wait to go back and get more food and simply enjoy the aesthetic even more. I give them a 10 out of 10 for sure!!!!!

I have always wanted to try this place and finally got the opportunity to stop in. In the front of the restaurant they have a small bar but in the back is the main dining area which is quite cozy. The menu features a number of classic French dishes but all made vegan. I personally ordered the ratatouille as well as the warm brie. The food was exceptional and service was timely. I definitely look forward to coming back and tasting more of what they have to offer. Stop in if you are in the mood to try something new, I am sure you will enjoy your experience!

Overall the quality of the food, the service and the environment left me with many positive vibes. The food was full of flavour and had a distinct French feel to it which is difficult to replicate being vegan. Ordered brie roti vegetal for the appetiser. The brie cheese was very authentic and pleasant for the mouth. The mains were poulet basquaise and aiguielette de canard. Both were very different from each other but very satisfying. Portions are generous. Creme brulee and orange crepe for dessert. Both were delicious.

Delice and Sarrasin is a hidden gem in New York City, offering a vegan French culinary experience that is unparalleled. The attention to detail in both presentation and flavor is extraordinary, and the restaurant successfully captures the essence of traditional French cuisine while staying true to its vegan ethos. The rustic decor is a delightful homage to traditional French bistros, creating an intimate and charming atmosphere. We began our dining experience with the Escargots Beurre Maitre D'hotel, a vegan rendition of a classic French dish. These snails, made from plant-based ingredients, were served in a rich garlic and herb-infused butter sauce. The Foie Gras Végétal was equally impressive. Served with crusty bread and a fig jam, it offered a creamy, savory experience reminiscent of traditional foie gras. Special mention to the bread – it was amazing.Loved both the starters, each bite was oozing out flavors. For our main courses, we ordered the Vegan Coq au Vin and the Pan Seared Scallops. The Coq au Vin featured succulent "chicken legs" simmered in a robust red wine sauce and mushrooms. The scallops were perfectly seared and tender, with a garlicky flavored spinach. Though these were hearty, flavorful dishes but I preferred the starters much. We ended our dinner with the Banana Crepe, a sweet and satisfying finale. The crepe enveloped roasted bananas and was drizzled with a luscious dark chocolate sauce. It was the perfect ending to an exceptional dining journey. Delice and Sarrasin is a must-visit destination that will transport your taste buds to the heart of France. It offers a premium dining experience, the quality of the food, the impeccable service, and the unique experience make it well worth the cost. It's an unforgettable culinary odyssey and I am definitely coming back again to try more!

INCREDIBLE French food in the heart of Greenwich that just happens to be all vegan. You won’t know the difference. Cozy, Parisian atmosphere; friendly, knowledgeable staff. This is one of my favorite hidden gems in the city.

I had the duck (seitan) strips. The mustard sauce was amazing and this is a really good dish. The Apple and caramel dessert crepe was outstanding—not too sweet with vegan vanilla ice cream that tasted just right.

One of the best restaurants we visited in NY! Too bad we have nothing like this in Vancouver, Canada. Amazing vegan food! Me and my girlfriend loved our dishes. The big chain restaurants in NY have a lot to learn from places like this. Service was very good too! Will definitely come back next time we visit NY

I was very skeptical at first about how a restaurant can take traditional French cuisine and make it vegan, but I was pleasantly surprised by what we had. We tried the escargot, foie gras, brie, steak tartare, and orange crème brûlée for dessert. Everything was flavorful and mimicked enough of the creaminess that you would find in food with dairy. Go in with an open mind. It won’t taste exactly like the traditional meal but was still incredibly enjoyable. FYI, the restaurant is your currently waiting on their liquor license but that didn’t diminish the experience.

What an adorable spot in a cozy European style restaurant. We ordered the cheese plate appetizer which came highly recommended from a friend and met expectations. My partner (who is not vegan) was blown away by the gourmet cashew cheeses. She also ordered the seafood tagliatelle which she enjoyed, and I had the beef Bourguignon which I thought was delicious. It was heartier than I expected and they did a great job with the vegan beef. It was with some delicious veggies in a rich red wine sauce that I felt was a little on the salty side—it would have been nice to cut it with a salad or sharing another dish. Still I would recommend it. The menu was…unusual. It described a lot of the dishes based on what plant based protein was involved. Even as a vegan I found it unappetizing to decide which “pea protein beef” or “x protein chicken” I wanted to eat. That being said, so many of the appetizers looked magnificent that it was hard to choose just one, and both of our entrees turned out really well.

FRENCH VEGAN!!!! What more can you ask for? Doesn’t even exist in the beauty of Paris itself. The decor is simple, service is friendly. We didn’t have a lunch reservation but were able to walk right in and got seated with no problem. We ordered a pasta and two crepes and each bite was heavenly. Compare to the rest of vegan Manhattan scene, we may just have found the diamond.

Food is absolutely great. Very small environment, which is ok. It also allows for great service. Staff won't need many folks to tend to the tables so they aren't overwhelmed and can take time with you. Food smells and tastes amazing. The price is about what you'd expect for the cuisine. I highly recommend it!

The reviews are absolutely on point, this place is magical. We're from out of town and the biggest tragedy is that the next time we'll come back we'll have to try new things on the menu because it's probably all amazing. We had the beef bourguignon, and a savory crepe. And even our picky 4 year old enjoyed the cheese plate and a sweet crepe all for her. The environment is cozy and not intimidating; this is a must visit!

I wish I could have ordered everything. The atmosphere was upscale and beautiful, but not stuffy or pretentious. The maître d' was very hospitable and just lovely overall. Our server was attentive and very helpful when we asked for suggestions. I can't wait to dine there again.

While the new location is bigger I preferred the smaller, intimate space they previously occupied. But the food is still spectacular and unique. I eat vegan all over the world and this spot is in my global top 10 list. Try the French cider. It pairs beautifully with most dishes.

Beautiful, intimate restaurant with French cuisine that is 100% plant-based. Everything about the experience, from the service and ambiance to the taste and presentation of the food, was absolutely lovely. I wish I lived in NYC just to visit this restaurant again because it was so hard to choose what to order!

We ordered fries on the side which were really good, tartine club sandwich, which was okay and lu suzette crepe which was okay. Overall food was okay. The service wasn't great. Our server handed us the cheque without even asking if we're done and as a courtesy didn't even bother to ask us how the food was.

I'm not vegan but I love my veggies. The food here is fine, but didn't wow me. It's been hard to find a vegan/veggie place that just makes good food instead of trying to (but not quite succeeding) at impersonating meat and dairy. I really wish they had options that were just delicious veggies instead of a disappointing fake meat.

Right off the bat, ambiance was great. So cozy and I felt like I was actually in Europe. I absolutely love the fact that there’s a vegan French restaurant because as a vegetarian, quite frankly there is usually nothing to eat at a regular French restaurant, so I’ve never been until now! The escargot is yummy but kind of small. We also got the Rossini and the crab cakes. Crab cakes were delicious but the Brussel sprouts along with it were not cooked very well. The Rossini left much to be desired, especially given the fact that it was their in-house made steak but tasted pretty much like an Impossible burger. Service was quick and polite. Will be back to try more!

If you like French food and you are vegan, this is the place to go . One of my favorites placea in the city. No matter what you order everything will be amazing. I love to see the owner in the restaurant serving and telling us the story of the place. The boeuf bourguignon and the poulet basquaise are just amazing !!

My favorite was the Brie with the potatoes. It was bold and creamy with a little bite to it. Pairing it with the potatoes was lovely. 9/10 I felt like the French Onion soup was lacking in depth and onions, it was also quite clear compared to the dark robust color French Onion soup traditionally is. I did enjoy the cheese on top. 6/10 The “beef” which is made of pea protein was an interesting chewy and soft texture. The sauce reminded me of a dish my mom used to make— you can definitely taste the wine. My favorite were the carrots and potatoes that accompanied it. 7.5/10

Well worth the hype, the food was incredible. Never had a better tasting plant based cheese than this Macadamia brie. The mains were perfectly balanced and flavourful. The Crème brûlée was so good! 🍮

Their new space is much larger, but just as cozy and inviting as ever. Delighted to see the dining area fill to capacity during our Monday night dinner. The food is fantastic, as always.

Had a wonderful experience here! Great ambience and service. We asked the server the most popular top 3 dishes and ordered all of them. We got the Escargot, poulet basquaise, and boeuf bourguignon. Everything was delicious and flavorful. My only complaint is the boeuf wasn't hot, just luke warm. And of course we topped it off with the chocolate cake!

Absolutely loved this place. Vegan versions of all the French comfort food classics is about as close to heaven for me as it gets. Charming place, good service, and everything was delicious.

Incredible French food. The portions are just right. Everything is flavorful and amazing. The vegan cheese is smooth and creamy with a lot of variety in flavor and texture depending on the dish. The crab cakes are crispy and you’d never know it’s not the real thing (and the aioli on them is amazing). The bread is fresh and warm and tasty, the little mushroom snails are nestled in their vegan butter, and the crepes are rich and lovely. I’ll have to come here more often! The restaurant itself is very tiny but they do have outdoor seating available. It’s very intimate and a great date night restaurant.

One of the best meals we've had in a long time. The texture of the chicken and beef needs a little something more, but not bad at all. The sausage was delicious and the flavor of both meals was outstanding. I highly recommend this olace. You won't remember that it's vegan because it tastes so good. It's also a great price.

Such a cute spot! My partner and I visited here after seeing a couple of reviews about this space. I was excited to try the “steak” since it’s been a long time and I was disappointed. When checking the website It advertised a different “steak” than what I received. I was extremely surprised when I received an impossible burger with sauce for $30 dollars (I could’ve made that at home). Besides that disappointment, my partner and I ordered the French onion soup and a carrot soup and my god that was amazing!! My partner had the seafood pasta and that was okay. We had a bottle of Riesling which was yummy and went well with our meal. We finished the night with a crème brulee which I felt was a lil more on the burnt side, so I just ate around that. I would come again and just avoid spending $30 for an impossible patty.

Had a delightful brunch at this very quaint french vegan restaurant. I had the strawberry and melted chocolate crepes, cheese and bread platter, and cappuccino in oat milk. Everything was delicious - the crepes were delicately sweet and the cheese very fresh and tender, and cappuccino was creamy with a rich espresso base.

  • 5/5 Yulia G. 2 years ago on Google
Ordered the “Brie” and “fois gras” appetizers - which were both absolutely amazing- I would come back here again just to have those again (and other things on the menu that sounded good and i didn’t get to try). The main courses were also delicious and filling.

Vegan and french food , dont think those two go well with each other. But what an amazing job these guys have done. Hats off to them. Particularly making an item which feels like , tastes like egg but without any egg!! wow

The way they've managed to create a vegan version of French classics is remarkable. However, I was a little disappointed with the coconut based cheese in the savoury crêpes, since on the website they mention cashew cheese instead. I didn't appreciate the truffle fries either. Not really family friendly, since they don't have highchairs. The staff was nice, though.

Fantastic restaurant to go to in fall/winter, plus one of the top vegan spots in NYC. The stew was delicious, portions were good, and the staff were incredible. Highly recommend!

Absolutely one of the best vegan dining experiences. Escargot, soup a l'oignon gratinee, tournedos rossini, cassoulet toulousain, then lavender infused rice pudding and a gingerbread crepe. Outstanding.

This restaurant has an extensive vegan menu, the food is surprising and delicious, the service is friendly and attentive but not overbearing. My friend suggested this place for a Sunday night dinner and when we arrived we were seated promptly. After perusing the menu we settled on the “cheese” plate, Mr. Petrossian and Mr. Seguin. The four types of “cheeses” were very tasty although the taste was not what I expected. My friend who is lactose intolerant really enjoyed the creamy texture of most of them. The vegan salmon was delicious and tastes surprisingly close to the real thing and crème fraiche tasted like the real thing and the creamy consistency was amazing. Mr. Seguin was sweet and savory at the same time and very enjoyable.

I really really love this place! The staff and hostess were very kind and served our every need. My party had the carrot soup, ratatouille, banana and caramel crepe, caprese salad, and the truffle fries were amazing! Everything was great and fresh, and handled with such care, my friends and I will return very soon. We dined outside and it was a great experience!

Attention all vegans (and non-vegans)! This restaurant is superb. My husband is a vegan, and I am a Francophile. Delice & Sarrasin ticked all the boxes. A rare find!

  • 5/5 Tyler C. 2 years ago on Google
This place is a must vegan or not. French onion soup - perfect, beef bourgeois - perfect, Toulouse Casserole - perfect. We enjoyed this place so much we went back for lunch the next day. Recommend making a reservation before you go as there are only 6-8 tables and you really don’t want to get turned away. One note on the service: this is not a typical American style restaurant which makes sense because it is French haha. You will be sat with menus and water and given ample time to review and decide. You don’t have to be ready to order everything when they come back but I recommend it as they will bring it out in courses as you’d expect. They will not constantly be checking in how you are doing and you will need to flag them down if you need something. I see people dinging them a star for this method but this isn’t rude rather how it often works outside of America. Good people, good food, you’ve gotta try it

Vegan French restaurant. Amazing selection of delicious food and tasty wines. Super friendly staff and nice vibes of the place :) I tried vegan steak tartare and it was delicious.

  • 5/5 Justin W. 2 years ago on Google
Truly wonderful vegan delight. As a dairy free diner, French restaurants have largely been omitted from my life. Saying "no butter" in such a place... It'd be unseemly. Anyhow I had absolutely nothing to fear throughout my meal. Escargot of oyster mushrooms were served alongside sundried tomatoes, tapenade, toasted bread. Cassoulet with heartily stewed beans in thick gravy with carrots as soft as mashed yams and 'duck' sausage beneath. A Merlot-Cabernet selection that warranted no further attention. Pick a wine. It'll do. Eyes on the food.

Vegan French restaurant is a challenge. There are sweet and savory crepes and the menu is versatile, staff was helpful and the prices are on the high end. Just like in Paris. Currently indoor and outdoor seats are available. Probably a good idea to order a table in advance. When you're done eating, take a quiet walk around the streets of this charming lively neighborhood of New York City. Do not miss out on relaxing a few minutes in the magnificent Jefferson Market Garden just a few steps away (See opening hours).
