I highly recommend a workout at Refine. The instructors are top notch. The exercises at each class are a great variety of warm up, core, strength and cardio. I got hooked one month into the Challenge (3 months of classes at a reduced rate) and opted for the unlimited membership.

A great balance every session with passionate trainers. Don't be put off by the scary looking equipment in some of the photos - the classes are designed to scale to your own fitness level. The class designs are extremely dynamic; going several times in a week, even back to back days, is par for the course. See you on Perry Street!

This is a super challenging class with great instructors who push you and provide a lot of feedback and corrections.

This boutique gym is fantastic! I was always hesitant about fitness classes and have never found a gym that fits exactly what I wanted to do with trainers who are competent. At REFINE, I signed up for about 5 classes before I knew it just made more sense to go for an unlimited membership. The trainers are top notch and are very friendly. They give me the motivation and help better my form. I would definitely recommend!

My favorite HIIT class. Each exercise is 1-2 minutes, then you immediately switch to the next one. These are combined into sets of exercises you repeat a few times. It's a full body workout, including both cardio and strength. The studio is small, so you get a lot of personal attention and feedback. Everyone gets their own personal station with a cable machine and kettlebells. All the instructors have a positive attitude and help push you through the exercises. The workout is a challenge, but I always leave feeling better.

It had been a minute since I was able to get back to Refine, but 5 minutes into class I was reminded why I love it so much. Refine is the best workout in NYC, hands down. The instructors are so knowledgable and have a keen eye for form. This translates to close attention, corrections, and the instructors immediately pushing you to the next level when they sense that you can handle more. But if you have not tried it, I would not be intimidated by this workout. Don't get me wrong, it is hard, and very hard at that, but it is customizable. All of the exercises are typically offered at 2 levels (1 being more basic and 2 being more advanced) and you can always ask for a modification or do an exercise with body weight only. And indeed, I do just that, for example, if I have not been for a while or am recovering from an injury. And you still get a great workout doing body weight squats or lunges. And speaking of the exercises themselves, think of the tried and true exercises that deliver results but organized and performed in the smartest way possible. So classes often have squats, lunges, planks, pushups, deadlifts, etc and are intermixed with resistance exercises using cables (bicep curls, tricep extensions), medicine ball work (slams, squat tosses), kettle bells (swings, bent over rows), stretching, of course, powers. Powers are short bursts of intense cardio (think jump rope, jump backs, high knee sprints, battle ropes) designed to get your heart up. If you have stress to work out, powers are the way to do it! So if you are unsure of whether or not to try Refine, I would definitely recommend it. I have been working out at Refine off and on since 2013 and it is still the best workout I have found. Simply put: Refine's the best.

I could not be happier with my time at Refine Method. Since I joined, I've been able to quit my gym and replace it with 2x-3x per week at Refine plus running and some occasional yoga. I love the way that Refine is unafraid to put you through real weight training exercises. It's so refreshing to get a true strength workout, which I knew that I needed but never felt comfortable doing next to big guys at the gym. With Refine, you get a personal training level of attention, but also the group class feel to motivate you. They also spend just the right amount of time stretching - which I love because you're never too sore afterwards. I highly recommend Refine; it has definitely changed my fitness routine entirely.

Refine is my favorite workout. Not only is it the best full body workout you can do but each class flies by! Every class is slightly different so your workout is always new and challenging. I like circuit training because knowing I only have to do each exercise for a short period of time motivates me to go all out for every one. I love Refine's workout, teachers, studios and general atmosphere, I cannot recommend it highly enough.

I've been going to Refine for a few months now and it is hands down my favorite boutique workout class in the city. All the instructors are amazing & come up with a great workouts that challenge you & keep it interesting. They have equipment and individual stations for everyone. The class goes by so fast & I always feel great after.

Refine Method is an awesome workout. The classes are small and the instructors are super attentive -- motivating you to push yourself while making sure your form is correct. Great mix of cardio and strength. I love it!

Refine has become my primary workout. No gimmicks / no doing 'model moves' - just classic strength training that is thought-out, efficient, and hard! I love how every class is different to keep it fun and super challenging and I feel like I get an even better workout than a personal trainer. The attention to detail and focus on my form is also highly appreciated. What I've learned from Refine has helped me improve my form in all aspects of my fitness even outside the class. The instructors are super knowledgeable and approachable. And the music if fantastic! Really couldn't say better things - I don't know how I would do strength training without them! They do all the hard part of planning for me :)

I have been going to Refine Method for over a year now and love that I am still challenged each class. Because the class sizes are small, you really get hands on attention from the instructors and they will encourage you to increase your weights or push harder when they know you are capable of more. It is almost like a personal training session! Each class is different and the variety of movements and exercises has kept me coming back! I love that they also cue modifications and challenges which allows you to control your workout. I go 3-4 times a week and it never gets any easier!

I really enjoy the classes here at Refine. The instructors have been great. It is a great warm-up, workout and cool down all within 50 minutes, plus every day is a different workout. They make sure to modify the workout for you if you have an injury. I have not made it to the other two locations, but the only drawback here is the shower area. There are only 2 showers, which I have to take advantage of because I workout and then head to work, so usually there is a slight wait. The shower facilities themselves are really nice!

High quality, efficient workout with top notch instructors. I recently returned to Refine after a few years of other gyms/classes and hands down it's still one of the best workouts in an increasingly crowded boutique workout market. When hurricane Sandy shut down the union square studio and I couldn't get the other locations to work for my schedule, I was very disappointed. I struggled to find another workout over the years that constantly evolves and challenges me yet avoids gimmicks. Instructors pay scrupulous attention to form and always keep it interesting. I'm glad to be back!

My favorite workout. Period. A great balance of strength training and cardio, and fantastic instructors. Most of the instructors are dancers, so form always is prioritized over speed or weight, and this is very important to me. Going to Refine at least once a week keeps me tuned up for other activities that I enjoy such as running and horseback riding. It also has helped me manage my chronic back pain because of the focus in class on core strength.

A hidden gem in the West Village! A former ballerina, I had always avoided any type of HIIT training because I thought I would injure myself, or build muscles that I did not want. I was so happy to discover Refine Method (founded by a former ballerina) because I feel strong and challenged by the workout, and never once felt like I would hurt myself. The instructors are all wonderful and help with modifications. The class is the perfect size to still get personal attention. Each class is different, so you never know what will be given, which I love. The time flies by, I don’t even look at the clock!

Refine Method offers a great, high-intensity, workout in a boutique setting where you get a lot of 1 on 1 attention. The classes are tough and you will 100% leave sore and sweating but in the BEST possible way. Each instructor I've had (probably worked with 5 different teachers) has been wonderful and meets with each person who is new to make sure they are set-up properly and know how to do all the exercises. I was pretty nervous about my first class because I thought I would be lost but the instructor made sure I felt comfortable with the set-up before we got started. The teachers also demo each of the sets/exercises for the group and give modifications for beginners or people with injuries and options and suggestions to make the workout more difficult. Definitely check-out Refine Method if you're looking for a new, intense full-body workout that is worth your time and money.

👍👍 It is an amazing stay for people that really just need a bed for the night in the middle of New York. We stayed for a week and first of all the location is unbeatable.
