Over crowded. They don’t have enough open sessions for family swimming time. All the swimming lessons were given to people who they know and familiar with the staffs. Don’t waste your money here. We took membership only for swimming for three months, but we’ll cancel it because if we can’t find open sessions for swimming, then what’s the point.

In response to the review about racist staff, it is best to continue going to further aggravate the racists and if they amp up the racism, whip out the video phone, take video, then file a lawsuit. I'll continue to frequent this gym especially if it is racist and bring more people who they hate just to annoy them. Remember, the staff members do not own YMCA. Riddle me this: there goes the neighborhood is what they say. They journeyed to return, yet the houses are $600k and above. Gentrify the place that was once home to dwell among the despised 🤯

The lady at the front desk is extremely racist. She let her white friends in the gym without scanning in but yelled and tried to embarrass me when I scanned in. If u r a black person please find another gym. The staff at the ymca will follow you around and try to make you uncomfortable.

So why the low score? I like the place, I like the staff they have been nice and helpful....WHILE IN PERSON. Leave the location and try to get any type of information on line or on the phone and you will be unsuccessful..I currently am interested in a few of their early morning pool programs and just want information so that I can plan my time appropriately. I have called, no answer and no call back. I have gone on the website and app, both have been hopeless. They tell you that each program is 580 min. Why can it just state the appropriate length, time it begins, etc. If there is no set time, then SAY SO and then we will know we can go whenever. Give me more info the app or website about your pool walking (don't assume everyone knows what it is)....again 420 min? What is that. You have the tools to properly inform your users, use them. Very frustrating!

The worst place I've ever worked.i worked with 3k classroom. Main classroom teacher was full of herself. The admin is super unprofessional. They say we follow doe but only when it's their own benefit. Things were done professionally only during the visits. Staff is not train to deal with kids with special needs and behavioral issues. Alot if screaming at kids. The so called structured unstructured time is baby sitting hour. Teachers have no law protecting them. If a student hits you, spat at you and bites you......oh well he is just a 3 yr old child. Alot is said in their so called trainings and less is done practically. Now I know why few people apply at their program. Responsibilities are thrown at you n not being told during the time of hire. What a disaster! I'm glad I'm out!

I just joined again, I was a member in the past with a family membership, and my son went to after school there when little. I moved from the area and joined local gyms. But this is the one, so much more to get evolved in as well as a comfortable atmosphere, the hours are great I get to work out before I start work at 9 am, no more excuses! 😁

The Pre-K seems organized but the teachers and principle dnt tel the truth to the parents when a child is hurt. They try to put the blame on a child. There aren't active young people to takecare of the children.

Unprofessional! Called before making a trip this morning to pay for summer camp session 2, filled out the application, waited around for an hour to then be told no spots are available. Management did not try to accommodate or apologize for wasting my time

I like that the facility is family friendly and has all you could need. Two pools, and workout areas in the basement, ground floor and upper level! There are also studio rooms with equipment. However, I wished they had extended hours.

If you're an adult who is a beginner at swimming and you're looking to use either of the two swimming pools to practice swimming during "adult lap" time, you will be disappointed ("adult lap" is the designated times where adults who are members can use the pool). There are two pools, but they're both always crowded. I went at 9am on Saturday and there was a children's swimming class in the same pool where there was designated adult lap. They designated a specific section for adults to swim, but if you're not comfortable with jumping into the pool to enter the pool, you will be highly disappointed because the staircase is located in the section where the children's swimming class takes place so, basically, the staircase is closed off to adults. In North Brooklyn YMCA, adult lap is designed only to adults with no other activities occurring during that time. There were too many adults in the small, closed-off adults section to effectively practice swimming. This experience happened in the small pool that is less crowded than the "JK pool". The JK pool is a circus. This location costs more than North Brooklyn or Jamaica, but it is always crowded. There aren't even changing stalls in the locker room, and parents bring male and female kids into the locker rooms, so you have change in their presence while others are staring at your body parts. I became a member at this "YMCA" because it's closer to me and I mostly wanted to have access to the pools for practicing so pool access is important. Things that are better at this location are the hours, more cardio/weight training equipment, an outdoor track where you can walk, and other non-swimming activities. I can imagine that the pools may be less crowded at early morning hours on weekdays when kids are in school (6:45am -2pm). I agree with the other review that says that this location caters to families.

It is good if you go at non-peak times. Has all the facilities, but need to go when there isn't much of a crowd.

Tanya at the front desk needs customer service training. I just joined 3 weeks ago and called with a question and she was so rude and condescending. Ridiculous.

We were at this gym for some months. The rooms and pool are clean and well maintained. Staff are very polite and hospitable. Crowd is very good. Child care is only available for 2 days a week which for us was a problem since we have a toddler.

The gym room smells like feet all the time. The parents wear their shoes in the pool area all the time and the staff ignore you when you tell them about it. The locker rooms and bathroom facilities are extremely old , smelly and need to be updated
