Stewart Burton unarguably had the best gym in NYC at Iron and Silk. It sits on hallowed ground and is a place where Magic happens. It is not an exaggeration or hyperbola to state unequivocally that Sensei Stuart Burton may be the best professional trainer in the world. Stewart was the only person who was knew immediately how to resolve 10 year old injuries to my Achilles tendons. Years of PT didn't work, visiting a world famous Achilles surgeon at HSS over many years did not get close to a complete resolution. Injuries accumulated over a few years of ice climbing, climbing and several back to back mountaineering trips at high altitude. Stewart's over four decades of experience within the Professional Bodybuilding scene are evident as soon as you meet him. His knowledge, wisdom, and kindness as well as intuition are virtually unparalleled. The amount of healing and gains in strength and flexibility were extraordinary. This would have previously been unthinkable. Stewart's knowledge of diet and supplements that actually worked was tightly focused and confirmed that he was truly an Artist and Master of his profession. This is not a commercial gym. It is not cheap - and quite rightly so. Finding Stewart Burton to train you is like reaching out to the "A -Team" from the 1980's. It is not an exaggeration to stay that he is the combination of Hannibal Smith, BA Barrachus, Faceman, and Murdoch in one package. So......... "If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire... the A-Team."

Martin Martinez: IFBB PRO Bodybuilder. You hear one side of this semblance of the illustrious β€œ Iron and Silk β€œ Themed the best training facility that some have ever worked out in. You now get to hear the flip side of the background from the perspective of someone, deemed a former β€œemployee” who helped get Stew started. There were several of us who joined him to help him kickstart this gym with the promises of a protracted personal training future. The several who joined him came from a gym on 17th street/ Union Square called Johnny Lats. He β€œ employed β€œ us. We helped him get it off of the ground and he hid his iron hand in a silk glove whilst holding a dumbbell hidden in the glove for the back of our heads. Let’s just say he spit us out. I am the only one who has the balls to say so. He may be a good trainer and a gym owner but as a boss. No words. However, all things work for the good. I’ve opened several fitness facilities of my own since. I have no malice. All the best to I & S.
