I've been a member of Aqua Studio for about a year now and I'm so glad I made the decision to try out this facility. I've found it to be incredibly welcoming/positive/non judgmental. I am plus size and I tend to not be the only plus size person in the pool. No one ever judges me or gives me a look because of my size. Typically, all classes start with instructors asking if you have any injuries they should be aware of and they will offer modifications or tell you to take it slow if you have any particular issues with arms/legs/back/etc. The locker room is always clean and typically has an incense stick burning in it so it smells nice. There are showers with soap and a machine that will spin your swimsuit after the class so you're not carrying a sopping wet suit home. The restrooms are large and there are always enough lockers to accommodate everyone. When it comes to the classes, your experiences are going to vary depending on the instructor - my recommendation is to try different styles of class (interval is my favorite, I spend my 45 minutes in the pool basically moving nonstop and find myself sweaty and breathless - in a good way - all throughout) and different instructors because even if you take one interval class, for instance, your experience will be different depending on who leads the class. I have had classes with a lot of the instructors and my favorites, and the ones who hold classes that work for my schedule, are Eudora and V. Eudora is such a sweet person who seems interested in everyone having a good time. Her sessions tend to be pretty playful (she'll have you "whipping it out" or "wrapping the blanket" or doing sharks or dolphins to keep your arms moving and it puts the joy in joyful movement). Her 80s mixes keep me moving. V is a machine and every time I take a class with her, I know I'm going to get a damn good workout in. Usually I'm struggling a little to keep up with her pace, but never feel as though I'm looked down upon for that. I also always leave her classes feeling pumped and love that she'll dance alongside us. Aqua is great because it seems to have all types of classes for all sorts of vibes. When I'm feeling very stressed, I'll take a flow or restore class, which goes a lot slower and is great for relaxing after a long workday or preparing for a stressful week ahead. When I want to work out, there are a lot of options but interval is currently my favorite. I find that being in the pool helps me sleep really well, so while I have some problems getting to sleep normally, after an Aqua evening class, I expect that I'll sleep through the night with no issues. I have even tried their land classes a few times - V's core workout is INTENSE for a person like me who is not the most fit, but I always feel incredibly accomplished by the end for managing to get through the class. Overall, I definitely recommend trying out Aqua and giving different classes and instructors a try. It's likely you'll find someone who fits your vibe and a class that really speaks to your wants and needs. It's a great unique sort of workout experience and def something to try if you struggle to stay interested in a normal gym experience.

Lovely time I had taking this class in NYC! I am from Paris and I go to Aquabiking classes every week, and was very curious to try the ones in NY while I was there for a business trip. Loved the relaxing and flowing feel of the class, plus Naomi at reception was so kind and welcoming :) I will definitely come back next time I visit the city, great space and project!

First time at this studio and first time taking a cycling class in the water. So much fun! Edmee is a wonderful instructor and I’d love to take another class with her - great music selection and great vibe all around. The studio is beautiful, well decorated, and clean.

This is a unique fitness experience that everyone should try at least once. I felt so invigorated after my first session, I purchased a package. The staff is great, the facilities are clean. Classes for every fitness level - even all women classes. They have all the products you could possibly need in the locker room for a post-work refresher. I wish I could visit everyday honestly. Love it.

I have been attending the studio since October 2019. After attending classes about 4-5 times a week, I have lost about 10-15 lbs and feel so good!! In addition, this has been the only workout that I actually enjoy attending and look forward to. Every time I leave the studio, it feels like I just went to a spa. In addition, their studio manager, Alina, has been very accommodating and ensures that I enjoy my experience. The only thing that is difficult for me to swallow is their cancellation policy (must cancel 24 hours in advance or pay $20 fee). Other than that, a great experience and I talk about it to all my friends and coworkers!!

The overall workout was fun and a good way to have an active recovery day. My two complaints were 1)the size of the pool is way too small to accommodate 12 people doing a circuit class. I accidentally kept drifting too close to the girl on my right only to get glares and my husband left the class with scratches on his arm because people around him had no room to spread their arms. And 2) to echo other reviewers, the facility is not equipped for male attendees.

This is an interesting workout. I took the beginner Blend course and it felt like an active recovery the entire time. I think this would be a good workout after a long run. The bikes don't have any gears or resistance, so this won't offer any lower body work in my opinion. I was surprised by the core exercises that presented a real challenge. The place is clean, but there isn't a locker room for men. You can shower poolside and then change in the bathroom. If you're in a rush, it's best to shower quick and get to the restroom first. All in all, something fun to do.

The best experience ever! Service, cleanliness, staff, class and overall experience is a 10 out of 10. Friendly staff who walked me through the facility and explained everything, even checked in on me after class. Great instructor; very personable, acknowledged all first timers and made the instruction easy to follow and keep up with! Locker rooms clean, organized and well stocked with essentials. Great experience!! Looking forward to my next class.

    I. Feel. So. Good. Snap. Gorgeous. So open. I wish I could package it up and bring it home to Detroit City. Hey Aqua Studio, Detroit is an awesome city and we have awesome buildings waiting for new businesses to be awesome together. Agua Cycle is really beneficial for the lymphatic system, and supportive to joints. I have had multiple surgeries and am healing chronic pain. I left feeling like I got a great massage and my body was experiencing the benefit of endorphins. Wish I had been taking these classes my entire stay in NYC. Guess I’m going to have to for my last 4 days.

It’s an understatement to say that I LOVE Aqua Cycling. Aqua Cycling is my new life style. I love every class, always super excited to come here. Although, I have my favorite instructors that I frequent, all the trainers are very different and absolutely fantastic! And I will not even go on about the benefits of water resistance and massage while working out. It’s been many years I have been physically active but nothing ever made me this excited to work out.
