This is one of the warmest, most inviting studios I’ve practiced at in NYC, with experienced, knowledgeable teachers, professional with clear standards. A real zen spot in the middle of West Village. I love that the schedule is packed with a variety of styles including aerial yoga, and offers some awesome workshops and caring community events. Steph the owner puts her heart into running the studio and one of the most positive and supportive people I know. I recommend this studio to all my friends!

This was my first time taking an aerial yoga class. Karin was really great! There were probably only a couple of people who have taken the class before, but it seems like most people were new. She was very patient and willing to help. I felt really great after this class - a bit sore, but in a good way. The studio itself is nice and clean. It's small but it feels very cozy. If you don't have a yoga mat, you can rent one for $2. Definitely recommend Sacred Sounds, especially for their Unnata Aerial Yoga!

Sacred Sounds is a fantastic yoga studio! I was looking to increase my flexibility and found this little gem on Bleecker Street. Every single person on the staff is so welcoming that it put my fear of taking up yoga aside. I was a bit hesitant about fellow students (as I hear some yogis can be a bit snobby) but the students at Sacred Sounds are very friendly and create a supportive environment that makes it easy to enjoy yoga to its fullest. It is a complete judgement free zone and it has me coming back at least 3 times a week! One of their best offers is their aerial yoga classes. What a cool and innovative way to combine aerial arts with yoga. Every class I attend there are new students who've never taken a yoga class and it is always a relaxing and super fun time to play on the silks. I could honestly write an essay on how amazing my experience has been at this yoga studio, but I wouldn't want to bore. A definite 5 stars and recommended to people who think they can never touch their toes to advanced yogis who can stand on their heads!

I've been lucky to be able to practice Mysore Ashtanga all over the world. Michael Guiou is a hidden gem of this lineage, teaching as he was authorized to do so. He also teaches Sanskrit/sutra in the traditional call/response style as taught by Dr. M.A. Jayashree. The studio is clean and beautifully maintained by a loving staff and owner. Street noise can be intense, but that's not unlike the traditional experience in India (minus the cows). No showers but they'll give you a small towel if you need to wipe down at the sink.

My girlfriends and I took an aerial yoga class for my bachelorette weekend and could not have had a better time! Our instructor was absolutely incredible. She taught us so much in 1 hour and made us laugh during the experience too. We all felt so relaxed post-class. Thank you so much to the Sacred Sounds staff for an amazing class.

I took a yin yoga class here and enjoyed it very much. After a night of ice hockey it was a great session for a more restorative/relaxing atmosphere that I hope to continue doing. The space is very nice looking, clean, and welcoming, and the staff is great. When it comes to Yoga I always recommend my friends to SSY!

Unnata Aerial Yoga with Cynthia or Michelle (founder/creator) at Sacred Sounds Yoga is simply divine! Thoroughly enjoyed Cynthia's class this afternoon and look forward to resuming the work regularly. Beautiful studio, wonderful staff and more than a treat, it is a pleasure.

Came here with a friend after another friend of mine gave few passes, and I don't regret going there. The staff is very welcoming, very attentive. The instructor was very knowledgeable and made the class great. I recommend taking yoga here at any time..
