I highly recommend the science demonstrations!!! The kids especially loved the Air Cannon and the Cool Chemistry demos! Trust me, it's worth watching the clock or setting an alarm for as many as possible. The 3D theater is a great option but an added cost. We were bummed that the science playground was closed even though we were told it would be open toward the end of March: hopefully soon. The cafeteria has limited but reliable options like pizza, hot dogs, sandwiches, and soft pretzels. They also have a little coffee shop that does the trick. They have a really fun store that we always visit on our way out - lots of STEAM based toys, books, and gifts of all sorts. The LEGO sets were cheaper than Amazon's prices too. As for parking, we ALWAYS find legal street parking by the entrance in less that 5 minutes, which helps us avoid the parking lot fee (I think $10)

It is a great sanctuary to go to once in a while to learn and relax. There wasn't a terrible amount of people, and the environment was very peaceful and friendly. A few activities that looked interesting were closed when I was there. Nonetheless, I did enjoy the 3D documentary on the Kermode and Grizzly bear, and all the hands on activities were genuinely wholesome for children and adults. The design of the museum was also spacious and witty to attract the viewers to learn with the extra fun. Overall a nice, calming experience, great for parents to bring their kids along for a day off.

This is a very good location for parents, grandparents, or a child care giver to bring the kids out to enjoy a day of experiencing something new and different. This museum has a lot to offer those curious minds that kids have. They will enjoy the interaction experience. It let's them be a part of it. They have inside and outside things for the kids. This location has a large parking lot. They have a cafeteria and a gift shop also. I recommend that you experience a fun day with the little ones in your life.

Took my 2 year old and my niece who is 10 and both loved it here! Some parts are currently closed due to renovation but still enough to explore and do. Staff is very friendly - even the custodians. Planning to go again when other parts open up.

This was such a great experience! I brought my daughter and my wife with me had a really fun time, looking at and interacting with all of the exhibits. My daughter really enjoyed the bubbles exhibit. They have tons of things to do like shows, activities, and you even skate on the synthetic glice. We will definitely come back!

The New York Hall of Science in Queens offers an engaging and educational experience for visitors of all ages. With its hands-on exhibits and interactive displays, the museum makes science come alive. The staff is knowledgeable and enthusiastic, adding to the overall positive atmosphere. The variety of exhibits ensures there's something for everyone, from astronomy to biology. The outdoor Science Playground is a hit with kids, providing a perfect blend of fun and learning. Whether you're a science enthusiast or just looking for a unique outing, the New York Hall of Science is a must-visit destination that combines education and entertainment seamlessly. I love it!

There’s a lot to do here. Unfortunately a few exhibits were not available. We were told the Bubble exhibit was currently close since the hurricane. Spent time here with my family. We all enjoyed our time here. The kids played with robots, interactive water scene, play zone, and etc. This hall of science is geared more towards children and some teens. My party of children ranged from 1.5 year old up to 15 years old. We loved the lounged upstairs. The adults chilled in the beanie bags while the kids played. Would visit again, but once more exhibits are open.

We arrived after 2p as recommended on their website on a Friday and admissions was free. This is a great place to bring young kids of varying ages - lots of fun activities for them...and there are monitors/guides, places for adults/parents to watch, participate, take a rest at. There's a dining room, lockers, gift shop, rest rooms. Besides activities there is a gallery area and theater.

I came here many times, many years ago, and finally returned here on a Friday, which gives you free entrance. So amazing! Great experience, but many exhibits were closed. Great place to go to learn and relax. Not too crowded, and the environment was peaceful and friendly. A few activities that looked interesting were closed when I was there. The hands-on activities were great for children and adults. The design of the museum is spacious & there are a lot of hands-on experiences. Great for families and adults to bring their kids along for a day off while both are satisfied. In the cafeteria, food and drinks are nothing special. Rated B for sanitation, be aware. Parking is $12 in the lot. But you can find street parking for free!

pretty decent place. more targeted towards a younger audience but overall its pretty good. it gets 4 stars bc as a teenager i did not enjoy it as much as my five year old cousin surely did. however it has a lot to do and lots to see. heres some pics of my fav exhibit from here. pretty fun and chill. theres even an outside to golf thing, except MAKE SURE YOU GUYS GET BETTER W THE GOLF RULES !! bc there were some rude little kids who kept coming in and not letting my cousin play because they took up the golf course and that was not fair to my poor cousin. otherwise it was wonderful, keep up the good work !

Awesome place to visit- school trip with my first graders. There are lots of activities for the kids to participate in and learn from. I particularly liked the childbirth display because kids need to learn about that too. I loved the budgies as well, the kids were fascinated with these tiny birds. They were organized and each class had their designated buns for storage, time to eat as well as place to eat. There were kid friendly bathrooms everywhere which is very convenient for kids of all ages. It was my first experience and a great one.

My son and I visited this place for the first time. In my opinion, it’s appropriate for younger children and not adults like us. However, we did enjoy the various exhibits. Maybe next time, I’ll bring my granddaughter. We had a good time.

This place is perfect for kids to grasp science through play and hands-on experiences in fundamental physics. My son loves to play in the preschool place, and enjoys himself in "connect worlds". From our recent visit, he had a blast in the bubble lab.

Get guided through all exhibitions by 5-10yo. It would be cool if bathrooms were also adjusted to young visitors (this is your audience).

Attended a birthday party here and sorry I haven't been here sooner. This place is great for the kids. So much to do, so much to learn, so much to explore. Huge outdoor playground was amazing as the weather was perfect that day. I can't wait to bring my little girl back to finish exploring all this great place has to offer.

🍎For teachers that plan on visiting, below the review is our itinerary for the day! One of my favorite museums- architecturally beautiful & well thought out. Great for elementary field trips as it’s just the right size for the allocated time. •Recommend getting there once they open with a class. As several schools are booked simultaneously, families that visit during the school year/weekdays may want to arrive later between 1-2pm after large groups leave (especially with little ones but can call ahead to see) • 3 floors with interactive stations, demonstrations and displays •Makerspace is a student (& teacher) favorite downstairs where they can build a pinball game, dowel structures, LEGO bridges & experiment with other loose parts •Students prefer the playground and have also enjoyed the 3-D IMAX films which run about 40 min. (Nice to end the trip with the film before boarding buses as it kept the group together after eating lunch) •Clean cafe with respectful and kind staff; water bottle refill stations •Make sure to complete a group survey after & they offer 2 free tickets to visit again! 10:00 Arrive & Check-In; place labeled lunches in large group bin (students kept water bottles) 10:10-12:00 Explore (w/ a snack break) 12-12:25 lunch 12:30 IMax or Playground 1:15 Bathrooms/Board Buses

It was my first time attending the New York Auto Show with my bf. It was the best experience I ever had. Participated in several sweepstakes *hopefully I win.* My recommendation if you are on a date have brunch prior, the food court was expensive $9 for 1 Small Slice of pizza not the greatest.

Great place to get minds-on and hands-on about science. From interactive exhibits to a robust maker space to a 3D theater, the main museum can captivate kids and adults alike. Then add in a mini golf course, a fabulous science playground, and even an indoor “ice” rink, you can easily spend the entire day here.

I'm the highest level of member. If you live in the area, with kids from 2 to 15, this is a must membership, mini golf, the Sci center is amazing. Try to avoid school trips. They have a free community day. Check it out. If it's your thing, get a membership and come and go as you please

Was fun....during the school day though, schools come in. If you have little ones be careful. Has a small food court. Very pricey $$$. Bottom level has centers. Children can build things. Second level a little different from what it use to be. Third level had a small skating area, big connect four and foam blocks. There are some other areas to explore.

The MET comes to the Hall of Science in LEGO style! Yes, the Hall of Science is currently exhibiting an extensive LEGO collection of famous art pieces and portraits that is installed at the MET! The attention to detail on replicating these artsy LEGO sculptures is fascinating! It's a great way to merge art and LEGOS to learn art history and culture. It's an exhibit not to be missed since it's being rendered as the largest LEGO installation in North America. This venue has a souvenir shop, cafe lounge, coat check in, restrooms, parking, rocket park and other engaging interactive science displays. Good educational venue for kids of all ages provided they are enthusiastic about science!

I used to come here with my family during free days (Fridays 2-5pm and Sunday mornings). A lot of the exhibits are pretty simple, but they're interactive and overall fun for people of all ages. A lot of kids really enjoy the bubble-making station where you can learn how to make giant bubbles. There is a maker lab where they have arts and crafts projects based on different science themes. There is an exhibit called Casting Shadows where you can create multiple colorful shadows of yourself. This is a great photo-op for social media. There is another exhibit called Shadow Disco, where you can move around and it creates shapes out of your form, with colorful shapes and lines around you, projected onto a screen. This is also a great photo-op. Try taking a picture of yourself with the flash on, at this exhibit. It comes out very cool. Don't forget to check out the Connected Worlds exhibit. It's an interactive project of an ecosystem. You can touch the walls and flowers will appear where you touch it. You can also use the plastic logs to direct the flow of water coming from the "waterfall"

Such a fun place. Our group had 2 rambunctious twin boys age 4 and 3 girls ages 8, 9 & 10. We all had a great time. The outdoor play area has so much to do and learn. The indoor was just as entertaining. I would recommend a membership simply because the outdoor play ground can keep your child entertained for days. I also love the fact that they have guides that show you how to so you can play on your own or have a guide play with you. Can't wait to go back.

What a fun place!! They have a parking lot it’s 12$ to park but free if you’re a member. The inside was clean up to date and had soooo much for the kids to do. Literally do thing for every single age. They had a great time we ended up spending close to 5 hours without even realizing it. They have a little cafe to sit and eat if you wish and a fun area just for toddlers. The only draw back was that the playground had to pay 5$ per child to use unless you were a member and then it was free. Kind of a bummer but it was to hot to play outside anyway so we skipped it.

It just reopened 2/19/22 and there is still more activites to open in the future nevertheless it was a great experience for the kids. This experience got another "best day ever" from my little ones. The gift shop is very pricy so be prepared.

I love this museum. It's a great place for families with kids of all ages to learn, explore, play and have a great time. This museum participates in the cool culture program for NYC Pre-K school children. The gift shop has some nice items and the cafeteria is large enough to accommodate the lunch crowd. Plenty of parking and a comfortable environment inside especially in the winter to spend a day or a few hours letting your kids have a good time.

Would recommend for locals and tourists alike. Be prepared to walk. Place is not huge but kids love to walk everywhere. I do recommend the area where kids can get hands on with tubes and legos ect.

I absolutely love the Hall of Science. I’ve been going there since I was a kid in primary school and I appreciate how much it’s changed over time. They always have fun new exhibits to try. There’s so much hands on learning for both kids and adults. I was just there a few weeks ago with my niece and was thoroughly impressed with the new section they have for toddlers. Lots of learning and lots of fun!

5 stars to the LEGO exhibition The Art of Brick. My favorite piece is the EYE, which the audience has to step all the way back to get the idea. Nathan Sawaya is a genius. The New York Hall of Science is such a kid and family friendly place, very educational and entertaining;)

Great place to hang out with your kids. We recently became members and every time we go, exhibits rotate and there is always something new to discover. Makers place in the ‘basement’ is great for kids to explore and create with different themes. Rubber bands art wall, blocks, huge blocks, creating moving robots. Love this place

We tried taking advantage of the free Sunday hour entry only to be charged $42 one minute after 11:00am. Cashier was offering the museums “Survivor” package, allowing the free entry time to expire. The cashier told me the machine cut off for free entry and could not do anything about it. This is what she told me when asked if they will honor the free entry. We were very saddened by the entire experience because we looked forward to the visit however were not prepared to pay that much money. We also felt they could have done more because it seemed they deliberately made us wait until the free entry time expired. The staff refused to honor the free visit. Thank god I had my WCS membership to the Queens Zoo. Update: 8/16/2020 - The NY Hall of Science has yet to return any of my messages.

When I was a young kid growing up at an international school in Indonesia these lessons were taught to me as a survival skill in normal schooling. I assume that is because most of the teachers were from Australia and from what I hear you need survival skills to live there. Great throwback to my childhood. It has tons of hands on parts allowing you to really learn what is going on. And learning some skills that can serve you in all kinda of environments. My favorite part of course, the fire extinguishers.

Earlier today, I called to book a reservation for my school. The phone service is very bad, and the woman (I assume) on the phone had a thick accent. She kept asking me the same questions, yet saying there was a max limit of 20 minutes for the call, and that she had 5 more teachers on queue. I had to collect some info from other teachers to answer her questions, and I told the woman to wait one moment. Eventually, I got the confirmation email from her, but she said hello twice and then hung up the phone. This is not the first time I have experienced something like this from the New York Hall of Science. Before, it was a man who answered the phone, and he hung up the phone in the middle of my sentence. I find the Liberty Hall of Science more friendly on the phone and over email. The museum itself is quite nice, and very big. So, it will take a few trips as a school to see all of it’s entirety. Please work on your customer service reps!

I love the Hall of Science. It's a great place to visit and there are lots of exhibits to see and interact with. I especially love the multitude of hands-on exhibits that they set up on the lower level. The biggest gripe I have is that there are many other exhibits that are dated and sometimes rundown. They definitely need a revamp on some sections. But overall, a great place to go!

Fun place to wander and see different things. A bit “meh” in terms of exhibits. But lots of fun things to look at. Better experience for younger kids. If I was a parent and needed a place indoors for my kid to roam, this would fit the bill. Love the gift shop. Flushing Meadows park nearby is a nice place to walk, bike, picnic, skateboard, people watch. Easy to get to from the Hall of Science.

Fantastic place to take the kids, filled an entire afternoon. Not too crowded, great exhibits, and tons of friendly volunteers wandering around.

It's great place to visit with kids. There are a lot interactive exhibits. They have many hand-on experiences. It may be a good idea to bring latex gloves, and hand sanitizers, just to be on the safe side. The outdoor science playground wasn't open, so I may go back in summer.

It is well worth getting a membership for a family. For the cost of basically one and a half trips, you can have unlimited access to coming back here. My two boys enjoy coming for the live demos and workshops. They also enjoy the connected worlds and playing mini golf for hours. The cafeteria food is also pretty tasty. I highly enjoyed their Cuban sandwich.

The deepest impression is that the staff are very friendly, especially one of the many in the preschool area, who is very caring, manages and takes good care of her area, and the outdoor guide is also great! Smile and be patient with any questions the kids have and give answers and suggestions!

We recently visited the New York Hall of Science and it's SUCH a great resource for kids! We spent about half the day there but we easily could have stayed longer. Absolutely loved it.

A real kid friendly gem. Lots of engaging STEAM exhibits and hands on learning opportunities. Staff were friendly and helpful. Onsite cafe was reasonably priced. Arrive early as it tends to get busy in the afternoon.Great for learners of all ages.

This relatively small museum alongside the park has a number of interactive exhibits targeted at children to help them learn about interesting topics. For adults the stuff was less educational.

A Stellar Experience at The New York Hall of Science! Every now and then, you stumble upon a place that not only captivates your child's imagination, but yours too, and the New York Hall of Science is exactly that place. I'm delighted to award a full 5-star rating to this awe-inspiring institution - a treasure trove of knowledge and fun, skillfully interwoven. From the moment we set foot in the building, we were met with a whirlwind of colors, sounds, and most importantly, excitement. This center for exploration and discovery is an ideal outing for children, combining the thrill of interactive play with the educational benefits of a museum, making learning science a captivating journey rather than just a subject in school. What truly sets the New York Hall of Science apart is its ability to cater to children of all ages. The exhibits are thoughtfully designed to engage young minds, encouraging them to ask questions, hypothesize, and problem solve. They're not just observing science - they're doing it. The hands-on nature of the exhibits brought complex concepts to life, ensuring the kids learned while fully immersed in enjoyment. I particularly want to highlight the staff who were exceptional in their commitment to creating a positive and instructive experience. Their patience and expertise were evident as they guided my children through different exhibits, answering their avalanche of questions with enthusiasm and kindness. But it's not just about the exhibits - the New York Hall of Science goes above and beyond with their presentations and workshops. They are engaging, exciting, and more importantly, they make complex scientific concepts accessible to the younger audience. The Planetarium was a family favorite, leaving us all in awe of the cosmos. Our visit to the New York Hall of Science was a day well spent - a day of endless discovery and wonderment that managed to entertain as much as it educated. It's a place where science comes alive for children and adults alike. In a world where screens often rule, this gem provides a much-needed break, combining play with learning in the most wonderful way. If you're looking for a kid-friendly, educational, and engaging experience, look no further than the New York Hall of Science. We can't wait for our next visit!

I love this museum/science hall! I took myself for a solo day out on a Friday- these are community days so I went for FREE. I saw reviews that said it was not just for kids and they were right! I had so much fun interacting with things like the Mars Rover, seeing a real moving Tardigrade (Water Bear) in real life for the first time ever, and the Happiness Project. I didn’t get to try the Rocket Park but it looked amazing. Great for families, friends, dates, or solo adventures! Clean, friendly staff, and lots of fun.

They didn’t have signs which way is the entrance from the parking. This is a place where once you visit you’d never go back ever again lol. It’s good that we went to check out tho.

Incredible place for kids and adults of all ages. The newly renovated wing has a rotation of interactive exhibits, as well as science presentations. As an example, for one of the visits we saw electricity at work, built a child size house, and saw a cow eye dissection. And another visit programed a toy car to move around the floor, watched a microscope presentation, and built Lego bridges. Overall, a highly recommended experience

Came here as a child, teen, and now as an adult and the experience has always been different and eye opening. The staff was friendly and helpful with any questions and the facility was clean and well organized.

It has changed A LOT since I was a kid. I did enjoy my time and I liked the new additions. Even my youngest child, only 1 year old, had some space to play and have fun. However, there were quite a few things that were broken or not functional and it was disappointing to not see those things operate. All of the staff were friendly and quickly helped you out. Overall, we had a good day and my son was sad to leave.

This time I went it was a xlass trip which is a very different experience. Very very crowded. As a family on the weekends you have time and space to explore the different exhibits which are engaging . Great for all ages

This place was rather easy to get to (although long - having to take multiple trains to get here). The tickets were about 36 dollars, but one thing i have to note: THIS PLACE IS FOR CHILDREN OR PEOPLE WITH CHILDREN. I went here with my siblings, thinking it was a great place for us to hang out since I remember seeing something on Pinterest that this would be a great hang out/casual date place. If you do not have a child, don’t come here. It’s not that interesting. We were only mildly entertained given that we’re all adults. The one thing I do have to say though is that the simulation space is really pretty. It’s super gorgeous and is the stuff made of dreams!
