Al Hirschfeld's gallery is located in a beautiful townhouse in Greenwich Village. When you enter the townhouse, you are brought into the grand ballroom–very impressive. The staff is all friendly and helpful. You are taken on a tour of the gallery, including the museum-like rooms, which besides having many magnificent Hirschfeld masterpieces, also hold historical glass works. Then you are taken into the "drawing room" where there are many, many Hrschfelds lining the walls and countless more to look through. Visiting this gallery is unlike any other gallery experience I have ever had. And if you have to opportunity to meet Margo Feiden herself, you're in for a treat–she is chock full of stories. A visit to Margo Feiden Galleries will not only be an opportunity to see many Hirschfeld masterpieces in person, but also an experience that you will tell your friends about. It is truly an eye-opening experience.

Going up the floors feels like an endless arts and crafts journey. Enjoyed some caricatures and drawings, many attract by high level of detail and keep you looking. Some rooms feel like an antique shop but not necessarily in a delightful way - got a feeling of disconnection here and there. What I enjoyed the most is discovering a half-hidden room under a black iron spiral staircase. Keep walking through it, pass the bathroom and find yourself in a dark room somewhere in Hogwarts.

If you are a fan of Al Hirschfeld, then this should be on your must see list. There are Hirschfeld drawings of the Star Trek crew, the Rolling Stones, The Grateful Dead, Sammy Davis Jr., Dean Martin, and many, many others. On top of that, the way that the house/gallery is decorated is phenomenal. You absolutely have to check out the kitchen, which has silk wall paper.

Anyone who has really visited or purchased anything from the gallery knows it to be a 5 star experience. It's obvious who the real clients are by the spectacular praise that they rightfully lavish upon the entire operation, from owner Margo Feiden to every member of the dedicated team who support this unique and memorable classic New York arts experience!

As an ardent fan of the Eighties NBC show, The Golden Girls, I was thrilled to discover that Mr. Hirschfeld created a stunning piece in honour of the four lovely ladies, kept safe and sound and waiting for me at the Margo Feiden Galleries. I had the honour of purchasing this beloved piece from Margo and her team and it was a pleasure from the beginning. The service was personable and enthusiastic, swift and professional. I couldn't have imagined a more perfect way to purchase my first ever piece of art. I was kept fully informed at every stage, it arrived promptly, immaculately packaged and sealed with love! It is as if Sofia, Dorothy, Blanche and Rose are sitting here now in my living room! I live in London, and despite the distance and the online nature of transaction, my experience had the sweetness of a wee purchase from the shop around the corner. I am so happy! I hope very much some day to visit this wonderful gallery and meet the lovely Margo herself for coffee and a slice of cheesecake!

I’ve visited this venue several times and each time I’ve been extremely impressed. It is a dynamic venue that can accommodate a wide range of events. The beauty, history, architectural and cultural significance of the place is significant. The staff could not be more welcoming and gracious, nor more helpful. Ms. Feiden herself is a rare gem. It is truly unique, and highly recommended.

I have been a customer of The Margo Feiden Galleries for almost 50 years. In the 70s, I lived rather near the gallery, both on East Tenth Street and then at One Fifth Avenue. Now I live in Massachusetts, and I am still Margo's client. I have bought art from her, including works of Al Hirschfeld, in which she specializes, and she has also tastefully framed other things for me. I can recommend both her friendliness and her expertise.

I WAS VERY IMPRESSED & ASTONISHED WITH ANTIQUE GALLERY WHICH IS VERY HARD TO FIND THESE DAYS. MS. MARGO MADE ME FEEL RIGHT AT HOME & LIKE A MEMBER OF THE FAMILY. I've been lucky enough to attend a few events at this venue. It's absolutely gorgeous and each event was unique. We all had a blast at each event. The staff was both helpful and super nice and the hosts got to actually be part of the festivities instead of running around taking care of logistics.

This is no ordinary event space—no ordinary gallery. It has no ordinary walls (unless walls covered corner-to-corner in countless original works by legendary artist Al Hirschfeld is your idea of ordinary); and the staff, far from cookie-cutter. Energetic, welcoming, and efficient (multilingual, too), the staff makes you feel right at home (if home had walls covered corner-to-corner in countless original works by legendary artist Al Hirschfeld). I could go on and on with descriptions that hardly scrape the surface of the history, culture, art, and stories that inevitably layer (both literally and metaphorically) the foundation of the Museum / Mansion. If you’re in the market for an ordinary gathering or forgetful celebration, keep scrolling! But, if you want magic—magic and memories? Well.

New York City is full of special places and this space has the an extensive and exciting permanent collection of Al Hirschfeld work. One floor has a fantastic glass gallery and I recommend anyone interested in exploring NYC should make it a point to visit and appreciate it.

The Al Hirschfeld Gallery is an incredible experience. As soon as you walk you're transported into a warm and inviting space filled to the brim by some of Hirschfeld's best works that takes you to the New York of yesteryear. Any fan of Hirschfeld, art or lover of New York City/ Broadway needs to check out this gallery.

Margo Feiden Galleries not only a gallery, it’s truly an experience. The building itself is a work of art, a preserved time capsule of 19th century architecture and design. The extensive collection of Al Hirschfeld illustrations will keep you wandering for hours, with something new always around the corner. I have never experienced a more welcoming and warm environment in any gallery I’ve visited in the past . It is a must see experience!
