Great place in Little Italy. They have very nice desert options here. It’s really busy most of the time but they have a lot of seating options inside and they are pretty fast so you don’t need to wait for too long. The deserts are delicious and the coffee is also very good. We typically stop here after dinner to get a nice desert to go.

Legit old school spot. The tiramisu was superb as expected. Tea was straight up commercial but fine. They also sell classic Italian goodies. Staff was nice and attentive. Decor can be kitschy but it’s part of the charm. Come here if you have a sweet tooth!

Classic, a must visit bakery with the best canoli in the city. So beautiful at Christmas time! We've been going for years. You cannot go wrong with anything in this bakery. It is a little on the pricier side, but it is well worth it. I always visit at least once a year. You can sit down inside or out and eat in or you can take away. Highly recommend! It's been around since 1892, that should tell you something!!

A nice bakery and Cafe. Lots to look at, so many treat to choose from. The staff was friendly. The pastry was fresh and tasted delicious. The one downfall and the reason for a missing star is that there were no prices listed anywhere and I was shocked when I got to the cash counter and was charged over $23 for three chocolate cannoli.

I was walking with family around Little Italy and we decided to stop in for dessert because it looked delicious. The sweets were not only lovely, but they were also of excellent quality! It was festively adorned for the holidays and a pleasant spot to visit while in the city.

Nice cafe in little Italy. Great coffee and latte along with some very tasty pastries and desserts. Only downside is the service, it’s terrible….. At least our waiter was. Had the I don’t care attitude. Other than that nice location clean bathrooms.

Such a delight to stop in here. We were shocked to find an open table around lunch time. Caffe mocha was very chocolatey but could have been hotter. The lemon meringue tart was super tart and sweet in the best way. Awesome. Their chocolate gelato was a little salty in a way that I really enjoyed.

We got the lobster tail pastry out of curiosity. The price is higher eating in the cafe when compared to getting it to go but it is fully worth it to sit down and enjoy it then and there. The lobster tail itself is gorgeous and full of powdery sugar and oozing with delicate creme (again very messy if you're planning on eating it to go). Spectacular dessert if you enjoy something that is not sickeningly sweet.

What a place! Without a doubt the best NY style cheesecake I’ve had, definitely worth the visit. The shop is small but very cosy, especially around the holidays. Plenty of offerings in all sorts of pastries, cakes and other sweets. We will we back!

I was recommended to this place by someone I know and from what I have seen, they were right. The various pastries are beautifully done and from the line to come in and shop, it's a very busy place.

I had the cannoli cake, and it was one of the best desserts of my life. Creamy, soft filling on a light cake— truly scrumptious. I will be thinking about this cake until the next time I can come back. The restaurant feels luxurious, donned with golden hardware. red carpets, and marble. Although, the women’s bathroom leaves much to be desired. Toilets did not readily flush and were “pre-filled” when you went to use them. I dislike how crowded the place is. The crowding takes away from the beauty of the space. They have a second floor but didn’t open it despite a long line. Perhaps they were short staffed? Regardless, it was packed and unpleasant with people shuffling to get around you. Also, there were so many babies in there! Crying, waddling around, and being in the way. I know the restaurant can’t do anything about this, but people, what gives?! This is a fancy dessert place, not where you should have a family outing with your giant strollers, which are also in the way. Anyway, come to Ferrara to experience one of the greatest sweets I’ve ever had. And don’t be fooled by the imitation place of the same name.

Overpriced and touristy but you probably knew that already. Good to try once in your life as "I've been there" type of experience and then you're set forever. My biggest surprise was that the lobster tail was filled with vanilla pudding instead of the creamy delicious original white ricotta filling. The pudding made the tail taste too sweet and like I was just eating pudding. It took away from the uniqueness of a lobster tail.

We went to the famous Ferrara bakery on a tour guide recommendation and we were not disappointed ! Wanted to try everything as the display looked fab ! We enjoyed their cannoli and 3 Berry bosco tart , both were delicious - best berry tart I’ve ever had! You could either sit in & order or get a takeaway box (quicker) and enjoy the treats outside they have a covered bench area!

Delicious food! Once you have your first bite, you'll be tempted to order more. The confections in this bakery are heavenly! The beverages on their menu are delicious as well. I ordered tea with lemon sorbet in it. It was served sort of like a float but with tea instead of soda, and sorbet instead of ice cream. It was SO refreshing on the palette and complimented the cake well. Staff was friendly and service was fast. Great place!

Iconic sweet shop in little Italy, it is always busy. It was 13 degrees outside and the line was out the door for gelato. That’s how good it is! The line went quick, and the sweets were worth it

Amazing dessert and drinks. Had the Rum Cake and the Mocha. Amazing food and the vibes for Christmas are amazing. Beautiful Christmas decorations. A must see if visiting Little Italy.

We went here looking for a late night cannoli and coffee. We didn't want to pay the extra cost for sitting down so we needed up just getting a cannoli as it looked like they were understaffed and coffee machines were not working for the "take out" line. Slow service for people who were not in the sit-down section. Can also see how it was the end of the night so maybe they didn't have enough people. We were happy with our cannoli's. Definitely not a cheap bakery.

Walk in to Ferrara's and be hit with a wave of espresso and the warmth of the dining room. This is such a cute and cozy place to grab coffee and a cannoli after dinner, not to mention their selection is AMAZING. Be prepared to spend!

Super nice bakery, tasty desserts and good service. You can either order something for takeaway or eat directly inside. We ordered ice cream (chocolate, stracciatella, vanilla and Nutella), a classic New York Cheesecake, and I don’t remember the names for the rest, but everything was delicious nonetheless. I recommend this place 100%!

Located in little Italy, this bakery has a fancy looking facade and a huge neon sign. It has dine in and takeout services. The desserts taste fine but are a bit overpriced. It's a nice place to try authentic Italian desserts for the experience. But it is that at best, authentic but mid tasting experience.

Ferrara was fabulous. So many guns to choose from. The cheeses in the desserts were wonderful in cheesecake and cannolis. Chocolate cake was not as delectable as the rest but the rest was really delectable. Cool vibe and lots of people enjoying the treats. Sit in or take to go to enjoy in bed at the end of your night.

Got a cup of pistachios gelato. Little pricey. Taste dense and nutty as well as thick, not too sweet which is good to me. But after a few spoons of it just feel too rich and couldn’t take in anymore. Located in little Italy area, people get in line for this bakery.

I am a dessert lover. I love to try different desserts and bakeries. I was passing by and wanted have a good quality dessert in the city. I picked this place because it had almost 5K on average of 4.4 reviews. But, I figured even that much review could be misleading. I had a napoleon and a vanilla cake. Both turned out very disappointing. White Vanilla cake was fresh but had very low quality; the cake was heavy and crumby. Napoleon was not fresh, and it probably waited at least one day in the fridge. Otherwise, the cream they used inside wouldn’t have been dry out. I also had a chance to taste two complementary cookies after complaining about the Napoleon, but the cookies weren’t good at all. I had way better stuff from less famous places. I think a place like this famous and old should have better quality. Whoever says this place has delicious desserts haven’t tried a good dessert yet.

Ferrara’s is a Little Italy classic. I typically only go in for takeout but this time a friend and I decided to sit down for a little treat. Everything was great (espresso martini was just okay) and the staff was polite but not very attentive. Overall, this place is a must go for traditional Italian American treats.

Lobster Tails & Capuchino was delicious. Portions where bigger then what I anticipated but good for sharing. Wife got the carrot cake which was very good. Great stop for taking baker goods or sitting down for some Italian baked goods and coffee. They also have some nice alcoholic beverages drinks if your looking for your coffee fix with some liquor.

Every time I visit NYC I have to eat here. The coffee and food are amazing. We loves loved loved the cannoli. And we went back a second time for the breakfast sandwich. There is an abundance of indoor seating. Prices reasonable for the area. Highly recommend.

A great place to find some food and sweet treats! They have ice cream, coffee, and if course pastries! It's by all the major food and shopping areas in little Italy and has some unique choices for cuisine. Great place!

It's a bakery with more than 100 years old, so a lot of experience an exquisite flavor. They offer a great variety of products: coffee, candies, desserts, yelatto, alcohol drinks, etc. Everything is clean and well organized. The customer service is amazing! The prices are high but remember they're in NY so a lot of taxes to pay.

Very delicous!👍🏻. For the first time in the three years that I live in the USA, I ate real Tiramisu at Ferrara Bakery & Cafe. I tried this dessert in dozens of restaurants and cafes, and only here I was able to find a delicious, not sugary, soft, non-spreading Tiramisu with a pronounced taste and smell of coffee and coffee liqueur. In addition to Tiramisu, my sister and I bought a few more cakes. Everything is very delicious. Of the 5 selected desserts, I like Tiramisu and Lobster Tail the most. Lobster tail is amazing. When I ate it, I felt a combination of crispy puff pastry and inside it a delicate, gourmet cream that tasted like custard with cream. It's an indescribable feeling. The cafe is cozy, the staff is on top - they are attentive to the guests, they work smoothly and quickly. The toilet is clean. Next month I will be back in New York and the first thing I will go to this cafe is for a cup of tea with delicious cakes. Thanks a lot to the owner of Ferrara Bakery & Cafe, for his respect for people.

Incredible! Went above and beyond for my brothers bday and spoiled us rotten with the yummiest desserts and an extra cake decorated with a beautiful message for the birthday boy! Thank you doesn’t even cover it, Ferrara! Beautiful surprise!!

That's the best place to grab some Italian goodness. For people with sweet tooth go for the multiple dessert platter option which has smaller versions of all the sweet good stuff in the menu. Hot chocolate was also good if you're still not high from the sugar rush.

Was in town and stopped by on a recommendation from my dad. His mom brought him here MANY years ago. He told me he liked the cannoli, especially. So I dropped by for baked goods. There was a long line to sit and eat at 10:30am. I went right up to the counter. Got a cream puff, cannoli with chocolate chips, chocolate dipped cannoli, lobster tail, 1/2 lb of pignolli cookies and can of San Pelegrino for $48. Everything was good. $7.75 for a smallish chocolate cannoli was too much, but it was tasty. The lobter tail and cream puff had generous amount of filling. Definitely worth a visit when you are in Little Italy.

If you are in “Little Italy” NY this is a must bakery. The music, the bake good selections , cannolis and Italian desserts, candy, liquors and espresso. Great tiramisu. They have it all. It takes you bake to Italy…So delicious. Blessings. 💕

Stopped by here after a dinner in Little Italy— Initially, I thought the prices were way too high for simple pastry; however as soon as we took the initial bite, I understood the hype. The fruit tart is amazing! It was quite crowded since there were lines for people trying to be seated for dining in and a separate line for take outs. However, despite the crowd, everything was so organized without any confusion. That was a HUGE plus!

The four of us binged on absolutely delicious desserts while shopping near LI and Chelsea. Exceptional service from our server with a heavy Italian accent. Definitely recommend this place if you’re craving authentic Italian sweets. Cozy environment (with nice restrooms too).

Cozy Italian place with sumptuous Italian deserts. Was crowded when we went - 86-88 had a 15 minute wait for table seating. Great place to get sugar and caffeine in elegant settings.

Historical Italian bakery (since 1892) with tons of pastries (both Italian and some french) and decent gelato. They have a sit down option as well, where the pastries and gelato are presented in Instagrammable fashion. They also sell alcoholic beverages including liqueurs and prepacked pastries. I had the gelato (decent but pricey $8) and torrone (very good for a $1). They have about 15 flavors (4 vegan sorbets). They do not allow sampling but most flavors are standard. The texture was smooth but was not in the form of scoops (like chunks instead). The taste and flavor was good (had the chocolate and blackberry).

  • 4/5 Rafael E. 1 year ago on Google
As far as the gelato goes, it's okay. But they have quite the array of pastries to choose from. I wish I wasn't so full I'd try more than just the gelato. The cherry flavor (the white/purple one) was delicious. But I'd stay clear of the mango one. Don't know if it's because it has been sitting out longer than the other flavors, or maybe there is an obvious consistency issue due to the mango's properties that make it this way; but the mango flavor felt dry, if that makes sense. Kinda like that last quarter pint of ice cream in your freezer when it gets frosted over.

Pastries and coffees were delicious! Decided to walk over for dessert after dinner with no regrets. I had the cheese cake with was so delicious and creamy, strawberries were fresh. My boyfriend loved his cannoli as well. Service was fast and efficient. Will definitely return to try some other pastries 😋
