The cutest and most adorable cats/kittens ever! My husband and I are cat cafe veterans and this has the most cats of any cat cafe we’ve ever been to (except maybe Japan). We like that this place let us feed the cats which was unique (the one in LES doesn’t). The cats were so friendly and I sincerely wish we could have taken some home with us but we’re still training our 10 month old puppy. Parking was also great - so it was easy to get to for us. We’ll definitely visit again when we’re in town!

The moment we came in were friendly, happy, beautiful cats all greeting us. It was like we died and went to heaven. If we could have stayed the whole day it would have flown by. This company has an amazing and important vision, helping cats in need, and every penny u spend here is towards their mission!!! The cats will thank you! The staff is warm and love talking about each and every critter there. We will be back soon! Paul and EV

When I went they no longer served any food/beverages. However they let you bring closed container drinks. They sold shirts/magnets/hoodies and pins. If you make a donation of $5 you get a cup of treats to feed the cats. To my surprise there were turtles and rabbits. Very relax place, not too many rules. For weekends do book ahead they do sell out..$10 for 30 minutes. Buy your tickets online and sign your waiver. No need to be there 15 minutes early. The check in is easy, you open the door, tell your name. they give you a sticker and tell you some rules and who to check out with. the place is decent, about 3 "areas". The front is a large window with many cat beds. Near it there was a mom and her kittens in an enclosure. the back area had a lot of the fishing toys. At 3pm most cats were napping so try to go earlier! I have been to 7 cat cafes across the US, this is one of the larger ones ( space wise).

Lots of friendly and amazing cats! There were more cats than expected and 30 minutes goes by very quickly. I spotted some younger children stressing out the cats, ie. a cat tried to bite the kid because they kept on trying to pet the cat when it didn't want to be pet. Could keep the staff members a bit more spread out to make sure that guests are treating the cats well!

Very very cute place. Kind staff and fun kitties it's 10$ per 30min Which is reasonable and enough to interact with them. If you want to interact with them come when they are not sleeping (morning or evening).

Excellent organization ! The volunteers inform you about the cats in the beginning. They are very clear about their policies. Each 30min is $12. They are kind enough to let customers stay over their alotted times and you can pay before leaving for the additional time (they tell you at the entrance). Helping cats get adopted in a unique way <333. Love and respect. I would camp outside if i could lol will be visiting againn!!

The Brooklyn Cat Cafe is absolutely great. Keep in mind that it’s not an actual cafe, instead just a cozy place to hang out with cats. You sign up on their website for 30 minute times for $10 each, sign a waiver, and you’re set. The cats are great and over all just a calming and relaxing place to get away from the rush of the city and center yourself

Super cute!! Very fun and well run, I went for an hour and got to feed the cats treats (If I could), play with toys with them, and cuddle up with them. Also all the cats are up for adoption which is nice. I met this one cat that ended up sleeping on my lap and it was one of the cutest things I’ve seen in my life. Also love the setup, lots of couches, chairs and benches for the people, but also lots of cubbies, scratching posts, beds, and play areas for the cats

It’s a place where you can reserve a time to visit and play with rescued cats, and apply to adopt if you want. There’s no food, despite being called a café: it’s really all about the cats. Very cute cats, lots of fun. I think it’s worth paying a bit extra for treats. And the staff seems to care a lot: they’re around to respectfully intervene if some cat (or human guest) isn’t behaving. They were also nice enough to offer us the full length of time we paid for even though we were 20 minutes late for our reservation.

The one girl with the long Island accent had a bad attitude — reservations are virtually pointless because they never tell anyone to leave, leading the place to be extremely overcrowded, often by people who seemingly have no respect of others' space. Reservations are needless barriers to entry, besides raising money to sustain the business. The time slots for the reservations are irrelevant because there is no control over whether people are arriving or leaving on time, and the front desk provides a lengthy set of rules and regulations before your entry. The remaining staff were friendly and welcoming, knowledgeable about the cats, and were open to talking about the cats with anybody passing by. There seemed to be several unattended children, but fortunately staff intervened when a child began throwing a tantrum and screeching, by telling the parents they will need to do something about the child. The amount of children wandering around hitting cats and people in the face with toys was concerning. Unfortunately, this place is not a "cafe" at all, as there does not appear to be anything to eat besides the cat treats. Water or coffee would have been nice, but we knew what to expect. Lastly, masks are required and sold for a dollar. I hope that this is because they are concerned about the safety and wellbeing of the cats, not that they're the only business in New York following a mask mandate that is no longer enforced by any business on the block. Over all, the experience was enjoyable as a majority of the staff are friendly, and so are most of the cats; however, I'd recommend that the store employs a security guard to actually address some of the overcrowding and make the reservations actually have a purpose besides charging $10 per person. On the face of things, you'd expect the $10/30 minutes per person to be a solid way to raise money and reduce crowding, but it doesn't. Dedicated staff to address this would fix this problem. My last comment would be — serve food, water... Something! Assuming, of course, the masks are for the people.

Wonderful experience. I wish they had an option of more than 30 minutes at a time....maybe 45 minutes would be great. It can get a bit crowded but you have to love that almost everyone is a volunteer. It's incredible the amount of care and planning and supervision that goes into ensuring that all cars are treated with individualized care specific to their needs. Excellent experience for adults and small children.

There were so many cats here, and they were all very well taken care of. They had lots of space. It was very calm, quiet, and the setting was very cozy. You're supposed to make an appointment ahead of time, but you can also try heading in and make an appointment on the spot. It is $10/per person for 30 mins and we were able to enjoy an array of snacks and bottled drinks. It's not so much a cafe as the name of the store says, but more like an open cage cat rescue with a comfy and homey setting Overall, my experience left me feeling motivated and refreshed. The cats I interacted with were so attentive and enjoyed playing with the toys I offered! **Do pay attention to the color of the collars as they will indicate how you should approach them

Loved this place so much. Super cute and everyone is so nice. The place is pretty spacious. They have turtles rats guinea pigs rabbits and a chinchilla. I don’t think they are for adoption but you def can look at them. The cat are all funny in their own way. The red collar cats are the spicy ones. Hahaha. You get 30 min for 12$. Not bad at all. That is all I basically needed for my mental health. I already have a cat and work as a vet tech. This was a different experience because the cats are healthy and calm.

Awesome. The manager (I assume she was the manager) talked down to us a bit, as if we couldn't understand basic rules. But, once we got inside, it was alright. The cats were nice. I really like their mission. There seemed to be plenty of toys for the cats to play with and plenty of places for them to climb on and rest at.

A fun date spot, I always recommend this place for friends in the Dumbo area! There are a lot of cats that have many things to hide in and play with. The cats’ collars are colour-coded so you know which ones don’t like being pet / which ones are cuddly. All of the cats are adoptable which makes it a great way to meet your future cat 🥹 I look forward to visiting again

This place is lovely. The volunteers/employees are so kind and helpful. You can see they care about the cats. There are quite a few cats and kittens. You can't pet the kittens, but they are so fun to watch. It's kid friendly too!

Was very excited to experience this space. Paid for tickets ahead of time, showed up for our time slot, and was greeted by a relatively rude and dismissive person at check-in. Although I had more questions about adopting I was worried that hanging back to chat to someone about it would take us over our 30 minute limit and we’d be charged an additional $12/person for that time. For many people looking to adopt is a very emotional process and is often coupled with loss/ grief. This is the first place I’ve been to since the death of my senior cat 2 years ago, and I was so disappointed. Ultimately the concept is cool and it’s nice to go see cats in an environment that’s comfortable for them - wish the staff cared enough to make their visitors comfortable too, especially when it makes the difference between bringing a cat home or going somewhere else.

The Brooklyn cat Café is one of the most amazing cat adoption facilities I have ever been Associated with - The two kittens I adopted were so well socialized and acclimated beautifully to being rehomed with me. The staff has been incredible. One of the kittens had a cough and the Brooklyn cat Café Were in touch with their vets and gave me the medicine to help my kitten get healthy. They remain in touch with me, even for some simple like asking questions about plants and other things. I have nothing but the most amazing praise for Naomi and her staff. They have brought tremendous joy to me and my family.

All Volunteers are incredible, they identify the cats by collar so you know if they can be feed during your visit or not. The space is very well kept and when you get to the cafe they explain everything you can or you cannot do. I’d really love them to have a espresso machine I really wanted to have an iced coffee while my daughter enjoyed the felines. You’re charge right before after leaving and you can get a treat bag for five dollars.

We recently visited the Brooklyn cat cafe and although staff was very nice and the concept and idea is great, there are a few things which were a bit disappointing and hopefully my feedback could lead to some improvements! It’s definitely a great idea, the Brooklyn cat cafe sign was cute and the staff were very kind, you can tell they treat the animals with respect and love. One thing which was not great was the smell, and I get it, there are cats and litter/food however I was expecting a bit more of a clean and modern aesthetic given the price and reviews. Secondly, one would expect a cafe to have better drink options, especially if you’re paying 4$ for a drink! there was no service for drinks, you just pour yourself and go. And there was no actual coffee machine… just hot water and instant coffee/packets of tea or hot chocolate. I wish somebody had written that in the reviews before i had experienced this. I’ve been to many cat cafes where they serve cute drinks to add to the experience. Overall, it’s was more like a pet shop/cute spot to see cats and maybe adopt one but definitely does not have the vibe of a “cat cafe”. Hopefully some of this would be taken into consideration to elevate the experience of being in a cat cafe!

I absolutely love volunteering here and it’s also been great to visit with family and friends! Everyone is very nice and knowledgeable, the space is pretty big, and there are lots of cats to interact with (or adopt!)! I love all of the amazing work this organization is doing for cat rescue and adoption and highly recommend visiting them if you have a chance!

First time going to a cat cafe and I couldn't have been more happy! Staff were great and very knowledgeable. My boyfriend and I went right at opening with our reservation. I didn't know we could pick them up, so I cheated myself on that 😭.You can just tell they care so much about the cats, turtles in the back along with the rats, which were so cute. I love what they offer and they have reasonable pricing for entry, treats and adoption fee if you choose to adopt. Will definitely go back soon. Thank you again to the staff!

A beautiful place with fabulous cats run by warm, kind people. It’s no surprise that they have so many adoptions. Bonding happens quickly when you can meet and play with cats in an open, friendly environment.

We love the Brooklyn Cat Cafe! We visited twice recently and had a great time interacting with several of the kitties there. The main cafe area is spacious and comfortable with many places for cats to play, hide, and sleep. Admissions are limited to avoid overcrowding and reservations (while not strictly required) and strongly advised. Staff is pleasant and there are CATS! EVERYWHERE!1! What more could you ask for? 😹 While some cat cafes cater to feeding and entertaining humans, with roaming felines more as ambulatory decor, the Brooklyn Cat Cafe is on a mission. With few exceptions, the cats you'll meet at the cafe are available for adoption. The adoption application is thorough without being tedious, these folks just want cats in good homes. We wanted to help in a more impactful way too, so we also signed up to their foster network and are currently watching our first crew of kittens. Whether you just want to pet some kitties for an hour or are looking for a lifelong companion (or two! Kittens are only adopted in pairs) the Brooklyn Cat Cafe is a great place to support.

We saw the Cat Film Festival last night at the Brooklyn Cat Cafe. It was a great experience. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Seeing the cats all over the spacious cafe was super fun. There are cats everywhere you look including up close to the ceiling. It's such a great space to house rescue cats who are clearly well taken care of. My family had a great time and we are looking forward to going back soon.

BBAWC is a wonderful organization doing good things in Brooklyn. I was a fan of theirs years before the Cafe opened. The Café is a great addition to the neighborhood. The Cafe is divided into different areas. There are rooms for kittens, FIV and FeLV cats. The regular adult cats are in the café area. I did a half hour with the kittens and what's not to love? Little bundles of energy everywhere. 😍 I also did a half hour at the café and mingled with the resident cats, played with a couple of them and offered treats. It's a wonderful spot to spend an hour and do some good while you're there. I think families with older kids would find it fun. The volunteers are friendly and helpful. Will be back again.

  • 5/5 D'Arcy A. 1 year ago on Google
This is not actually a cafe but there are definitely cats! You pay for 30 minute time slots where you can just wander around inside with the cats. They were of course being cats so most of them were hiding or sleeping out of reach but there were still a bunch in petting range. You can buy a bag of treats for $5 which helped lure the more shy fellows closer. If you go expecting a room just full of cats being cats and not necessarily wanting much to do with you, you will not be disappointed. Exactly what I needed today! Seems like they are doing good adoption work too :)

I went first pay cash reliable how much for per person also, into hangouts everybody else able to do enjoy yourself! Not expensive as fee well. Only cats that all, and as if you could have requested them bout going to visitation into too online required reservation make an appoints. Adopt a cats then volunteer for working simply. Love it will you goes should have gonna suggested that it, before recently I was goes see cats greatly n cool. thank you for the everyone! Take care....

Love this place! I’ve been here a few times with my daughter (she’s now 7, but first visit was when she was 4), and it’s very kid-friendly. I was happy to see that they expanded! We tried out the “kitten party” in addition to the 30 mins with the regular cats. Everything is exactly as described on the website. The kitten party is really cute! It was just the 2 of us, and we sat and played with kittens for 30 mins before heading back down to play with the big cats. I have to admit that I felt like $100 was a bit much to spend for an hour total, but at least it goes to a good cause. We can’t have cats (we have birds!), but my daughter is a huge cat fan, so it’s great to be able to visit and interact with kitties. I would love for my daughter to volunteer here, but sadly you have to be over 18 (makes sense, but my daughter is unusually responsible. She actually reminded me about collar colors as I was petting a red-collared cat who ended up swiping me with his paw 😄). Please note that this is NOT an actual cafe! Again, everything is explained clearly on the website. The staff are WONDERFUL and kind. I’ve asked about various cats and they are all well-informed. They explain everything at the door as well, and now require you to wear shoe covers, which is for the protection of the cats. I highly recommend making reservations ahead of time, since they (thankfully) only let a certain number of people in at a time. Overall, lovely place with lovely people.

Great organization from the staff. Socialization rules were clearly communicated before beginning our appointment which made it so that cats and customers were most comfortable. The staff was super attentive and knowledgeable about the adopt and foster programs. Great little organization! Love that it’s local.
