I have no idea what they make this stuff out of and I refuse to ask. I love the mystery. I love eating meat but this is my new favorite restaurant in the area because the food is consistently above average. After trying everything on the menu through ~15 orders nothing has never left me with heartburn or an upset stomach the same way traditional hamburgers or fast food sometimes do. Not the most affordable place but it’s worth the price for me because I notice the difference in ingredients compared to other restaurants at lower price points.

Amazing vegan and gluten free food. My favorites are the tofu scramble and rainbow cookie.

Incredible vegan breakfast fare, so many good options from breakfast burritos to mac and cheese, this is the perfect breakfast spot for curing your hangover, topped off with a coffee and donut from Familiars across the street. Will be coming here again when i'm in Brooklyn

Had the sunshine burger and jackfruit nachos when I went. They both were delicious. The honee mustard sauce on the burger was incredible. It's my new favorite place to get a vegan burger. I love that they make their own patties, sauces and more.

I had high hopes but was underwhelmed. The Sunshine Burger was too bland and mushy. The patty needs some extra texture/crispiness and it overall needs some more flavor. The California burrito had more flavor. I like the jackfruit too. It was still carb-heavy but I somewhat expected that and overall I might get it again, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

Lots of Mix reviews. Went here with my wife the other night excited but was disappointed. Perhaps we went on a rushed or bad night. We ordered the cheese burger Cowgirl burger and the Buffalo Mac and cheese. We had it to go since they were about to close. 30 mins left. Both burgers bread was soaked and the burger itself was falling apart. Buffalo Mac and cheese had Dill and it was sour. There were more Buffalo sauce than cheese as well. End up recooking it and added more cheese. This seems like a good place and maybe we just had an off night. Hopefully next time it will be better.

My favorite place for lunch lately and I’m not a vegan. They’re really delicious! I’m hopeful they release a cook book or similar soon. There is always a rotating menu of options but the sunshine burger and California burrito are my two favorites and I hope they don’t take those off the menu. If you love fresh food that’s well seasoned / flavored, you have to eat here.

I order two waffle sunshine : $37 aka over priced & tasted…horrible. Best part of the sandwich was the arugula. If you get a waffle sandwich it’s $5 more. Worst part of all is my waffle was burnt so the taste was totally altered : my partners waffle was just slightly burnt but tasted better than my waffle. I realized I live closer to SoulKofa Vegan 235 Ralph which has better service, prices & quality ; if you’re looking for an alternative in the area. The last thing is the lighting is poor & the customer service is absolutely cold …I have never been to a vegan restaurant & not been greeted with smiles as well as good energy. The food & service was a total flop. The vegan burger isn’t even that good I have had better.

Lots of cool menu options like elote, soup, kimchi burger, etc. No wifi. Nachos were excellent. All vegan!

Loved the food! Toad Style has an extensive menu of all vegan options. We came here because I was craving a breakfast burrito and they did not disappoint, they even were able to add avocado to it for me. My partner ordered one of the specials called the crunch warp. Our food was made fresh and promptly served to us. They weren’t busy when we went so it was easy to find a seat inside. They also have two tables outside. I can’t wait to come back and try everything else!

When I moved into the neighborhood 3 years ago I would order from here all the time. It was good when it was good, but the quality was super inconsistent. I stopped coming after they took fries off the menu because, how you gonna have burgers with no fries? 😅 I just came back for the first time in a year or so for a cowgirl burger and immediately regretted spending the $13. Neither the patty nor the sauces had anyyyy flavor or spices, it was sooooo so bland. It’s a bummer because I really wanted to love this place after @veganbodegacat suggested it on IG, and it’s so close to my house. I don’t like to write bad reviews because I’m an industry person and I know a lot of restaurants can just have bad days but this place has just continued to disappoint 😭

I ordered from here through Uber eats. Seen this place months ago and was itching to try it. Blandest food ever. The jackfruit nachos were okay, but just a bit more seasoning would have bumped it up to pretty good. But the cowgirl burger was mushy and flavorless. The mac and cheese was dry and very bland; no moisture or sauce whatever. Absolutely NO seasoning, herbs or spices in this food. Waste of money. Don't know if the cooks weren't feeling it that day, and I don't want to bash a business. But what I got was that bad.

The staff here was really great, friendly and quick. I also appreciate how fast everything was ready. I will say that the food is lacking in texture and the flavors seem to "mush" together. I ordered a vegan burger, and while the patty was delicious, I couldn't tell where patty ended and the rest of the burger began. There wasn't any complexity of flavors or textures, it was just all one mushy (but yummy) mess. The soup I had was good too, but again, too much tomato flavor. Couldn't really taste anything but the tomato broth. I feel like a burger should be anchored by the main event of the patty but the supporting elements of crispy veggies and tangy dressings should definitely be there too! Overall good food. I was satisfied, but not blown away.

This a hidden gem I found in Brooklyn. I got the cheeseburger; great taste of the patty and savory almond cheese feel like nothing vegan! Spot on!

Vegan comfort food in a punk meets martial arts themed restaurant in Brooklyn. While this might not sound shocking to you the food will shock you with its piquant, sweet, and savory dishes! Food**** When people hear the phrase “comfort food” they tend to associate it w/ unhealthy—Toad Style is only half that (fries and other fried foods). There is a good amount of healthy, superfoods on this menu. We ordered the Sunshine burger, which features Toad Styles own house made patty (refreshing in the age of BEYOND and IMPOSSIBLE), arugula, cashew dill cheese (amazing), avocado, sweet chili mustard, and served on a pretzel bun and a side of fries—definitely a winner (Side note: ketchup is house made and very good but you must request this as they do not have it out and we accidentally dumped some hot sauce on our burger). Additionally, we tried the Tofu Scramble from their brunch menu (served until 4pm daily!)—made with Burmese tofu and topped w/ Hollandaise sauce and veggies. The scramble was light yet creamy and delicious! Atmosphere*** The walls are papered in vintage martial-art movie posters from the ’70s and ’80s, the 14-seat restaurant is appropriate for all (families, couples, etc.). Not a huge space but adequate amount of seating and pleasant/fun atmosphere. Service*** Counter service and you bus your own tables and dependent on your beliefs you may like or dislike that but I like how I feel when I help the restaurant. Price$ Great food at an excellent price!

Awesome Burgers! Sick BBQ sammies! Super friendly staff! A real hidden gem in Bed-Stuy. I've eaten here five times this week, and will probably do so next week as well!

I enjoyed their burgers in the past, this time I was highly disappointed; plus it messed up my stomach. I felt aweful after eating it, like it was stuck in my esophagus. I asked for avocado and their was only avocado in my last 2 bites. Probably wont be getting burgers from there again. Plus the energy from the staff felt uncomfortable that day. The soup was amazing though!

Toad Style is definitely a place to visit if you are interested in delicious vegan fast food. I ordered the sunshine burger and a side of cheese fries...AMAZING!!! The hostess was very pleasant and helpful. The restaurant is small, quaint and clean. It was definitely worth the travel from Jamaica. I'll definitely be back when I come back to NY. Delicious!!!

I was in the area and this place was recommended for vegan food. I asked the guy at the counter what he recommended he said he didn't eat any of it so he wouldn't know. That should've been my red flag. I ended up getting the veggie burger. The bun was soft but the burger overall was nothing special.

The food at Toad Style is thoughtful and delicious. Vegans who are craving some junk food, like cheeseburgers and cheesy fries, will have a chance to chow down on some brunch food guilt free. The outside isn't super appealing and the inside is dark and cramped, but if you're willing to put up with these shortcomings or perhaps order take out, there's no reason not to love this vegan joint.

Super quick service. Got the grilled cheese and potato salad and both were awesome. The grilled cheese was definitely the best grilled cheese sandwich I've ever had, the bread they use for that is awesome, nice and flaky and buttery. Def going back and hoping to try some different sandwiches!

picked up dinner from here with my brother who just got into town--they're open pretty late which is great! They don't have fries or fried things right now I think something must have happened w the fryer maybe but they still have plenty on the menu! I had a cowgirl burger (no queso bc that's not really my jam and my brother is allergic to cashews so I just try to be careful) and it was great. Also had the potato salad, so satisfying! They make their own patties with mushrooms and other vegan, soy-free options are available. and nice sodas! Sweet small place & the person working there was very friendly :-)

I got the cheese burger and Caesar salad so delicious!, and the prices are phenomenal for quality in taste Other vegan burgers I have ordered from well know no establishments don’t compare and they are twice the price. It is obvious a lotta love and quality coming out of toad style kitchen

On my way to order the second one in minutes! I had the Burmese tofu scamble and I must have another one immediately. Seldom do I write reviews yet this meal was so incredibly good I'm cutting this review short to get another order. Cheers!

I order the Jackfruit BBQ sandwich and the texture was spot on. It was a bit too sweet for my taste and I feel it could’ve been smokier. The fries were very solid!

The tofu scramble (good portion) wasnt exactly a scramble, it was two patties on top of some greens & whatever the pattie’s were, they were SUPER salty, the soup (was aight) was mad salty, and the cheese burger was pretty bland (wasn’t worth $10). I was pretty disappointed 😔.

  • 5/5 Natasha D. 1 year ago on Google
I only got four things. The fried cauliflower was the best I've ever had, the kale salad was great, the thin fries were the best I've ever had, and the Bahni sandwich was fine, but only because I don't like eggplant. I'm excited to try everything that's on the menu...

I’m really split on Toad Style. On the one hand, it’s one of the few vegan restaurants in the area with a decent menu. The staff are really great too. However, after exploring the menu a bit, I’ve got to say the food is a little under seasoned and lacks variety in texture. Maybe I just haven’t ordered the right things.

  • 3/5 Jessica S. 2 years ago on Google
I really wanted to like Toad Style. I really did. But the California burrito I got was small, mostly tortilla, with bland potatoes inside. The middle was good but it took several bites to get there.

Definitely one of the best walk-in/takeout vegan joints in BK! I’ve tried several different food items and all of it is mad good.

  • 3/5 Norlette N. 1 year ago on Google
Great vegan option that doesn’t include something Beyond or Impossible. Food isn’t processed and I like that. But the Buffalo Mac is a hit or miss. It’s either the noodles are hard or overcooked, too much buffalo sauce or not enough lols. They open late—good for the vegans who get off work late lol

I've given this place so many tries to like it since it's vegan and soy free but my order always has issues. Most recently I got scrambled eggs and it was literally runny chick pea flower. Hate wasting food so ate it anyway only to have a massive stomach ache.

I’ve been ordering from Toad Style for a while and everything is so damn good every time. My favorite is the Cowgirl Burger with avocado and jalapeños. Would be hard not to eat Toad Style every day if I could afford it. I’ve been vegetarian for 20 years and this is the best vegan food I’ve ever had. I’m grateful for this place. As I said a few months ago, I’ll say again, “I loveee Toad Style!”
