Amazing dining experience! Got the acorn squash curry which was incredibly flavorful. The candied pecans were so good in it. Got a tiramisu for dessert which was so rich and delicious. The hibiscus tea is great unsweetened as it has a natural sweetness. Also want to give a huge shout out to our server! They were incredible and checked up on us multiple times. They made sure we always had plenty of water. Our food came out fast as well. Come check them out next time you want an incredible dining experience.

We got their housemade veggie burger, eggplant muffaleta, and classic ice cream sundae. We liked everything. My only gripe was the muffaleta bread was dry. Their ice cream is housemade with olive oil and it's delicious.

I have always wanted to dine at this place. The staff were very Nice and Friendly. The Vegan Dinner that I had yesterday was Chickpeas Parmesan Hero Sandwich with Raspberry Basil Sangria Cocktail. Both of them were Tasty, Crunchy, and Incredible. I would definitely recommend this place if you’re going out on the weekends. Their outdoor dining is Elegant as well.

This a great vegan restaurant. Modern interior, and solid outdoor COVID shack. The brussel sprouts were incredible. The French fries were some of the tastiest I have ever had. I was so full afterwards that it was hard to walk, lol. Enjoy

I celebrated my birthday here with my mom and this place did not dissappoint! 1. This restaurant clearly shows women empowerment. This was amazing for me to see 1st hand since I read about this in the other comments. The staff were exceptional and if you don't leave a tip, something is wrong with you. 2. I already knew what I wanted before we got seated. - The oyster mushroom was delicious. It had the right crispness and I was not expecting the calamari to be placed on top of some greens! My mom and I enjoyed it. - The berry lemonade was refreshing, but it was sour to my liking. I maybe just did not mix the drink well enough. - The shakes were on point! So you could say we had dessert before our food was ordered. The strawberry shortcake my mom devoured. I had the brownie, but I did not like it as much since it was too hard for my liking. (Hence the 4 stars) The ice cream complimented it though! - The Strawberry Salad was amazing! The dressing is a must! I ordered extra dressing. I was so full after! My mom ate the Mac and cheese, and she enjoyed it as well. The only thing, the cauliflowers were humongous. Maybe cut them in bite sized pieces next time. The atmosphere had a chill vibe. I am glad we came early since the place got busy around 8. Overall, I want to come here next time and order something different! (I may or may not get the strawberry salad).

Today me and my partner ordered from here and the food was horrible. Idk what was going on in the kitchen tonight but it was a miss. The “fried chicken” was so burnt and when I bit into it it was so hard to chew. We also got the nacho Mac and shews and the noodles were hard, not al dente, but hard. The parm sandwich was ridiculously salty. Like none of the food was good. It’s disappointing to pay for food this expensive but can’t even enjoy it and I did not realize all this until I got home because I ordered for pick up. Below is a picture of the burnt mushroom. Will not patronize this restaurant any longer.

Loved this place for a nice brunch! Their fried mozzarella was so creamy and flavorful. I was pleasantly surprised by the seitan garlic parmesan wings, but did miss the classic celery and carrots on the side. I also ordered the crunch wrap which was delicious! The breakfast potatoes had a wonderful dry rub that wasn’t overpowering at all, and the crunch wrap filling was awesome. My partner ordered the seitan and waffles, which came with flavored butter and fruits. The seitan and waffles were a little over cooked, but if you enjoy a nice crispy bite, then you’ll love it. I’m excited to come back and try some of their other things!

I had the jerk tofu with coconut rice. I had the butterfly lemonade. The food was awesome. I will have another meal some time soon. I'm tiring of tofu. I really liked modern love.

We found this vegan restaurant after heading to a club nearby and decided to try this place. I really liked the aesthetic of this place. The lighting was perfect for the vibe and feel of the items on the menu and how they were presented under the lighting. The kitchen area was tucked away from the restaurant which was perfect to me allowing for a nice flow of open space from the entrance to the dining area. The food left much to be desired from me though in terms of flavor, however the presentation was impeccable. I had the Modern Cheeseburger, a vegan cheese burger and also tried the pumpkin spice icecream. The burger was too big to me - I like a more medium sized burger and it reminded me of a real meat burger which turned me off to be honest 😅 The icecream was a little bit too thick so it was kinda hard for me to enjoy the flavor. You could tell it was gourmet and probably made from scratch. I tried the Mac and Shews which is a vegan pasta in cashew sauce - and I regret not getting it, it’s probably my favorite thing on the menu and I really want to try it again. The restaurant server was also well mannered and polite and worked efficiently to get our orders out in a decent amount of time. The business is mostly staffed by women and seems woman-owned - if so, it gets a tick in my box as a possible minority owned business. I recommend this place for dates or a date out with friends who love vegan food.

I must say this vegan restaurant is definitely delicious. The service is good, staff is pleasant and welcoming; staff was fun and entertaining. Food was tasteful and plenty. I decided to dine here because of the numerous recommendations from people. Overall I give you guys 2 thumbs up 👍🏾. Thank you for the great experience, I will be returning 😃

I've been a Modern Love fan from afar for years and it lived up to the hype. My cocktail was delicious, the arancini was so INCREDIBLE that I was openly sad when I finished the last bite. I had the fried mushrooms with coleslaw and mashed cauliflower potatoes as my main. The mushrooms were perfectly seasoned and crispy on the outside, and meaty on the inside. I'll dream about the mash until the next time I'm able to visit. My only regret is that I had to leave early and couldn't get the mac and shews to go. Our server (I think their name was Grace) was attentive, kind, and happy to make recommendations. When we discovered we were crunched for time, they swiftly grabbed some takeout boxes and our bill and had us out the door in time to make our next event which I so appreciated. I'm looking forward to returning the next time I'm in town!

Best vegan restaurant in New York so far! We where a group of 20 people and the staff has been outstanding. We tried a bit of everything and everything was just so good. Crispy oyster mushroom wings, nachos with vegan cheese, fresh greens, patties, walnut burgers and more. Very impressed, fully in love with their menu!

Love to see a popular and busy casual vegan restaurant. But tonight the food was just okay, attentive service, good location hence the three stars and a half. I think this is more of a vegan diner, not a full menu vegan restaurant. I like the Parmesan garlic wings and the kale salad, the dishes have elements that complemented each other and were balanced. In some dishes, taste is rich and not as flavorful as I expected (Broccolini and tofu jerk). The proportion in some dishes was unbalanced (mushroom Brie burger: way too much sautéed mushroom that overwhelmed the taste of the patty, arugula, and even soaked the buns.) We didn’t try the drink menu and only had iced tea, root beer chocolate float, and a slice of raspberry cake. More details in each picture.

One of those places where you can't help but try what everyone else order but still finish everything on your plate. The mushroom fried chicken was perfectly fried with a light but extra crispy batter. I didn't get any photos of the appetizers because we ate them so quickly. Dishes are reasonably priced and portions are big. Nice chill ambiance. The dining room was packed but I never felt rushed. The staff are super friendly and make you feel at home.

Not a vegan but loved the food here! I had the nachos which were AMAZING. The Mac and cheese impressed me because I hate vegan cheese but this was IT! They've mastered their cheese recipes in my opinion. The chicken fried oyster mushrooms were a little overcooked but still great, along with the mashed potatoe with chickpea gravy YUM! I enjoyed my drink as well. Definitely go here and try it wether you're vegan or not. I'm for sure going back.

Sadly not the best taste vegan place I have been to, but it's a cute place with lost food options and the portions are huge for the price.

get! the! nachos! you need them in your life (and your stomach!) the chickpea cutlet sandwich was good too but was honestly even better the next day. my bf ordered buffalo cauliflower wings and they were good but he said they could’ve been crispier. overall, we agreed we would come back just to eat the nachos but also to try everything else. so good!

It was pretty loud here for me personally. I got the pesto bucatini and it was incredible. Unfortunately, I ended up feeling really unwell after my peanut butter shake. This has never happened to me before, or not in the 6 years I've been vegan. It could just be how sugary the shake was on a full stomach, since I don't usually eat much overly sweet food, but that still seems a stretch, so I think it's something to be aware of. Otherwise, delicious.

Good vegan food, fantastic service, my mimosa was good too. The burger bun was a bit stale or hard to chew it was not the best but every thing else was great. The breakfast warps, fries, kale salad all good.

Love this place. I drove all the way from Central NJ to try this place. Nachos are a hit. Cashew mozzarella balls are delicious. The fried mushrooms chik’n was not good. The mash potatoes that came with it was also very average. The mac and cheese with spicy seitan wings was amazing. Definitely check this place out. It is expensive but worth it! 👍👍

Got the garlic Parmesan cauliflower wings, fried green tomatoes, and strawberry feta salad with crisp chikn tofu. Overall, it was alright, but the cauliflower was a little too tough for my liking. Menu is a bit heavy so maybe the burgers or entrees would be better choices- but it is LOUD in there-voices echo everywhere

Contemporary spot for non-meat eaters and the like. The staff is inviting and the dining room is cozy. There is a bar with dietary restrictions in mind for selections. The Kale Caesar salad was good, except for the mushroom bacon. That was over seasoned and salted down. I added a chick pea patty and it did not take it to the next level. The mushroom calamari was good, better if it’s cut up in smaller pieces. The fries were awesome, just too many for a side at $12. The Mushroom fried chik’n was good as usual. I recommend the hibiscus iced tea for a beverage. The strawberry lemonade has a kick and less balance. The passion fruit margarita was all about saltiness unfortunately. I’ll be back!

After a long day hiking and being stuck in NYC traffic for 3+ hours, Modern Love delivered. Every single dish was absolutely delicious, from the appetizers to the entrees to the desserts, it was a hit out of the park. And, to top it all off, the service was phenomenal, everyone was so friendly. Have been thinking about this place ever since. 😶‍🌫️

The food is outstanding every single time I visit. The nachos are non-negotiable.. must order every single time. Garlic parmesan cauliflower wings are amazing. Kiara was a pleasure to dine with. She was attentive, kind, friendly, and genuine which made the experience even more enjoyable than usual. Always leave wanting to return and this time was no different! Highly highly recommend :)

Really terrific vegan food. So tasty. We had acorn squash curry and a mushroom burger. It was all super fresh and beautifully presented, and generous portions. Staff are friendly and reasonably attentive. Atmosphere inside was quite nice, but there were no tables, so we sat outside, which was ok (tables & chairs somewhat rickety). Next time, we will reserve, as in, we will be back. Thanks for feeding us so well.

Modern Love was recommended to me by a friend and I can say without hesitation I would pass on the recommendation. Truly the pinnacle of vegan dining that Brooklyn has to offer. The staff was helpful, attentive and knowledgeable and that helped especially if one isn’t too familiar with vegan fair. We attended with a group of 6 and all 6 were very satisfied with food, service and decor. It was a warm space, inviting and inclusive, the sort of restaurant you’d sneak back to during the week. The plates had enough food for two to share—if so desired. More seasoned guests in our group elected to eat desert first, a foreign concept for sure, but by the end of our meal we understood well that our stomachs may have burst if we elected to enjoy the delicious deserts our fellow patrons ordered along with our appetizers. Bravo, will definitely return.

Cute cozy place for a Sunday dinner. The cauliflower wings are my favorite. Tried their rigatoni & cacio e pepe dish, so good.

What an absolutely incredible experience! Hands down a personal favorite of mine forever more. My friend and I split three different dishes plus a milkshake and were thoroughly impressed by all of it! The atmosphere is super relaxing, food is impeccable! Special shout out to our server Chi for being such a pleasure to be around! Some of the best service I've ever had! Can't go wrong at all in this place. Thanks for a great time! 🖤🖤🖤

Such a great little vegan treasure. I was in the area for work and found the place from a Google search. Everything we ate was divine. The best vegan milkshake I've tasted.

One of my favorite vegan restaurants in Brooklyn! The food is excellent and I love that they switch up the menu every once in a while. I've honestly never had something from here that I didn't like. Make sure you try their milkshakes! 😍 Check out my reel on Instagram findingvegannyc highlighting their TV dinner special

Modern Love is a delicious vegan restaurant that I highly recommend to visit. I had this restaurant for a while on my to go list and finally made it. The interior is beautiful and provides a cozy place to enjoy. It's a little smaller so I highly recommend to do a reservation up front. They have a small selection of different beers and provide nice cocktails. My appetizer was their Garlic Parmesan Wings. I choose the Rosemary Breaded Seitan and don't regret I did that. It was crispy and really flavourful. I went for entree with Jerk Tofu Bowl. It was a great mix of sweet and savoury. The fried plantains were on point. I would only wish the spicy grilled jerk tofu would be more spicy. The dessert was their Tiramisu, which taste great but I couldn't finish it because I already ate too much 😆 All over I had a great experience at Modern Love and recommend to go here if you look for a good vegan restaurant

Great portion, great quality food. Our waiter was excellent and attentive of our needs. The max and cheese can be a bit too salty so if you’re sodium sensitive be aware. Cauliflower wings were delicious and the setain chimichurri was also very good. Can never go wrong with Caribbean style vegan food honestly.

We ordered takeout for my sister’s birthday (who has a dairy allergy). We shared kale Caesar salad, fried mozzarella, mac & shews, warm chocolate chip cookie, and the peanut butter chocolate candy bar cheesecake. Everyone was very happy with all of the food and the wide variety of vegan options made ordering really easy.

This place is awesome!! Food is incredible, staff are super friendly. The Jerk bowl was great and came out lightning quick. Probably the best meal I had in NYC. Decent beer options as well.

Honestly, it’s an amazing place! A gem in Brooklyn. Love the outdoors space and the quality of food. I am not a vegetarian at the very moment (taking a break) but went there because of my vegan friend and enjoyed the meal so much! Made me want to get a cook book of the owner and do more vegan meals at least sometimes. Highly recommend

Food is good but there is little to no urgency with pickup orders. I came back twice and my food was not ready. I understand that it gets busy but when I asked for him to check on the status of my food the server shrugged and said they were busy but when other people came in to pick up their food he grabbed the names and gave them an eta. Food was getting prepped for over half hour now but I would’ve appreciated more communication or urgency to get an answer.

This is a really solid spot in Williamsburg. I’m Not usually a fan of vegan food (I am lactose intolerant though) but the food was all excellent. We ordered Rich and creamy Mac and cheese, nachos, and a chickpea (“chicken”) sandwich. It was all delicious. Drinks were good too. I would definitely return.

Check this place out- but check their site first and make reservations. I'm not a vegan, but have a lot of allergies (dairy, soy and eggs) so my review is based off that. I've had to eat allergy friendly for 20+ yrs, the foods come a long way, that being said... -I wanted to order one of everything on the menu but we stuck with the fried mozzarella, parm chicken wings, kale salad, nacho Mac& cheese, fried chick with potatoes and coleslaw and a peanut butter shake oh and a crisp of some kind. **Pros- food was over all amazing tasting and decent to the price. Fried moz was to die for! Coleslaw was devine! Peanut shake 🤩❤️ our waitress was so helpful with the soy allergy and didn't make me feel like I was a burden. Our table was ready on time. PORTIONS ARE A GIGANTIC! Check out the ice cream. ***Cons- so noisy (but that's NY). BRING YOUR OWN SILVERWARE, OR ELSE. We missed that memo and had to literally walk to the basket to get silverware and the waiter said "this is a bring your own silverware restaurants", which we replied and we're sorry we didn't know now can we please have silverware. We ordered our appetizers, and they showed up about 45 minutes after we ordered them, and then our dinner 5 minutes later (but we ordered them about 30 minutes apart). Overall this place was great, presentation was epic, staff was mostly great, made a wonderful sisters night out fun. Except we needed like 10 stomachs to finish everything 🤪

Lovely dinner. I tried the fried mozzarella app, their vodka pasta and mushroom burger w/ perfect fries. Would have ordered dessert but with their great portion sizes, I was pretty full halfway through my dinner. A good problem to have! 😊 Anyhow, overall deliciousness.

  • 5/5 Erin S. 2 years ago on Google
We really enjoyed our dinner! The mac n shew was the best non-dairy cheese I’ve ever tasted! And the oyster mushroom calamari was also delicious. And the server was very nice and made sure to keep our glasses full of water. Highly recommend for vegans and non vegans alike!

Modern Love has some of the most amazing vegan food I have ever had. The Jerk Tofu bowl is to die for. Super spicy and flavorful. I travel all the way from the city for it. I learned that because the restaurant is in such close proximity to a church that they are not allowed to serve hard liquor so they serve agave liquor which mimics the taste of real alcohol! (I hope I got this right and remembered correctly.) Neat and still very tasty.

  • 4/5 Gary B. 2 years ago on Google
Decent decor. Chickpea parmesan hero tasted great but was too oily and gave me mild heartburn, even with the fake mozzarella removed. Wait for food was 20 mins. A bit too long.

  • 5/5 Renee M. 3 years ago on Google
Everything is perfectly seasoned and cooked. The food is absolutely above and beyond good and really a dream come true (I've been wanting to visit for a while). They do have limited outside seating which is dog friendly and they have a very well-established take out service. They also take window orders. They sell hot drinks too.

  • 1/5 Nino M. 2 years ago on Google
Very first 1 star review to vegan place from me! The service is horrible here! No water until you ask and food is already served! No utensils for dessert! Also, the lady (in the window) refused to help to charge my phone while they have QR code scanner menu, hilarious!!!! Food is delicious but not gonna be back!
