We came here after seeing a pop-up ad from Facebook so decided to give it a try. The store front had two stores, one on the left with a dining area and the right had the extra door for blocking the wind which should be the main entrance that wasn't open which was strange. When we entered the dining room, there was no one there except for a virtual Maรฎtre d' on the left which was a first for us. We had to show our vaccine cards to eat in the dining area. We ordered several dishes and waited a good amount of time before getting our orders. The cook brought out our dishes and said sorry for the long wait. The cedar fried rice which was advertised as a pyramid in one of the pictures came out flat and in a take out container. The food in general was delicious and at a very competitive price point compared to other vegetarian restaurants in the Queens area. If you pay by credit, expect a surcharge of $6. We paid cash and left a tip for the virtual service in the cash box by the Maรฎtre d' who took the order. Also there were plenty of free books on a desk if you wanted to read up on Buddhism in English and Chinese.

Delicious and healthy vegan cuisine. The owner practices what she sells (she's a Buddhist vegan). Many of the dishes here are made from scratch: for example, their dumplings' dough is house made. Their vegan duck appetizer has good flavour and a nice slightly chewy texture. Unlike some of the other Chinese vegetarian restaurants in NYC, this one seem to use little oil. I went with my mother for lunch and she really enjoyed their food also. Parking around the area is easy to find also.

This is one of the best vegan food Iโ€™ve had to date. Since quitting meat years ago, Iโ€™ve always wanted to know if there were ever vegan renditions to the foods I used to love. I can honestly say that the vegan pork bbq tastes WAAAYYY better than the original meat-version. The owner is the sweetest ever and she personally came out of the kitchen to converse with the customers. They even let us stay well after closing just to make sure we enjoyed our food! 10/10

I've been looking for a vegan restaurant in Fresh Meadows so I'm super grateful for Amitabha Vegan. I had their curry veggie chicken, vegetarian duck, vegan sesame general tso, and tofu. The average dish is around $10-$15 but the portion size were large and I was able to save any of their dishes as leftovers for tomorrow. The menu has a variety of asian food like vegan pad thai to vegan indian pancakes with curry sauce. My favorite dish is actually the vegan duck because it comes with Japanese pumpkin, cabbage, and seeds on top.

This isnโ€™t your traditional dine in restaurant. You walk in, order through a computer screen, and pay. You grab a table, sit, wait for food, and eat. Service doesnโ€™t really exist. I wonder if this set up is temporary for COVID. Besides this, I had a good experience with the food. Ordered the General Tsoโ€™s Seitan and Sweet and Sour Tofu. Absolutely love the seitan as it was crispy and flavorful. The tofu could use a little bit more flavoring but the sauce is great and the I loved the veggies. Pricing is perfect. Great portion size and both entrees come with rice. I really admire this restaurant. The parents and their children are working hard to run the business and I really do love that. They are very hard working and this is a small business you must support!

Amazing vegan food! We have been ordering from them consistently pre pandemic & throughout the quarantine. All the food is delicious & great portions. The staff is incredibly friendly & accommodating. Their customer service goes above & beyond. So grateful to have a vegan restaurant that not only delivers, but has great quality food & superb staff! Highly recommend!

Absolutely delicious food! I was surprised how good and filling this vegan spot is. Their general tso vegan dish is better than many of the places serving it with chicken. Just be warned: the virtual reception might freak you out, otherwise everything else is perfect.

My family lives in the neighborhood and we order from Amitabha on a weekly basis. The food is amazing and 100% vegan. They work some magic on tofu and seitan as a substitute for meat. Our favorite is the BBQ vege roast pork with Cedar fried rice. The owners are very friendly and are always giving my parents advice on how to make healthy vegan meals at home.

We have eaten here four times, twice before the pandemic and twice in the past 2 weeks (takeout). This is excellent kosher vegan asian food. Portion sizes are large and the food is well prepared and tasty. Pick up is easy. A welcome addition to the neighborhood.

This restaurant is amazing!!! The food is excellent and always fresh. The prices are very reasonable and portions are large. My family and I order from this place many times per month. The food is super healthy and delicious. My favorite dishes are the vege chicken and broccoli and tofu noodle soup. Great vegan and vegetarian restaurant in the neighborhood. I highly recommend this place. The owner, Ms. Dong, is always friendly and welcoming which creates a very nice atmosphere for the restaurant.

I just finished having dinner with my family from this restaurant. We had the crispy duck, the roasted pork & the chicken fried rice. Everything was excellent! The flavor and mouth feel of the duck was just right. The roasted pork tasted almost exactly like real boneless roasted pork. My father in-law couldn't tell it was vegan. The chicken fried rice very very good. On top of the great tasting food, the owner is very sweet and provides excellent service. This place has quickly become a family favorite. Keep up the great work! We'll be ordering regularly for sure.

I've been coming to Amitabha since it opened and I love the variety of dishes. The food is always fresh and yummy. The mock chicken dishes and mapo tofu are probably my favorite, as they are full of authentic flavors. The service is quick and I was so glad they reopened in the last month. They are a wonderful addition to the neighborhood.

The food is tasty and very economical for NYC standards. Very novel idea of having the hostess take your order from Philippines via video conference. The owners are very social and try to make you feel at home. I would give them a 5 star but the ambiance needs a bit of work. The location is deep inside fresh Meadows so they miss out on publicity. If you are going for good taste it's worth taking the detour and find this hidden gem

Try this spot on two separate occasions. The first time I didnโ€™t get everything i ordered but second time they got it right. All the noodle dishes were great, from the Singapore mei fun to the pork lo mein. The crispy duck is legit, I canโ€™t believe itโ€™s not duck.

I've eaten at this place a few times while visiting in the area, they always served plenty of food and was good and tasty. definitely a place to eat when you are in the area. One point for improvements, they didn't always had all sauces and ran out of napkins once, that's telling me some sort of lacking of organizational planning. Make sure you guys have all the items your customers need! If Iโ€™ve helped, thank you for clicking the โ€œLIKEโ€ button! It was strange ordering to a lovely lady on a laptop screen. The food was good and they have books you can have for free, I made a donation of $20 in addition to the price of the meal to compensate for the books I took which I'm sure cost money to print. Very good experience for me.

UPDATE 12/1 updating them from 1 star to a 3 star because they took the time to resolve the issue and took accountability thatโ€™s a 5 star experience in itself. Food was trash, ordered the mock duck and veggie beef. The mock duck didnโ€™t have much flavor but was okay texture wise than the veggie beef which was just flour fried up into thick squares (I could have did that myself and saved a 30 min drive) no attempt to get any type of texture, tough to chew and had 0 seasoning, this is one of those spots where the sauce is the seasoning, spent $40 on inedible food. They put the food on a bed a flavorless veggies like broccoli, cauliflower, squash 0 seasoning and give you a side of rice

They set it up as self-help cashier with CCTV. My guess is a south Asian style vegan establishment, heavy on the ginger. If you are vegan and like Chinese Asian give it a try. Kitchen speed might need some improvement but you can wait for your food while listening to Buddhists chanting

Food is ok my problem is that I have order twice from them and when I called it in, the employee wrote down my order but seem to give me the wrong order. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE AND MANGERS RESPONDED BY SAYING THEY CHANGED THEIR MENU. I CAN UNDERSTAND THAT ONCE , BUT TWICE . I PICK UP A FRESH MENU FROM THERE RESTAURANT And it happened again BE CAREFUL Check that they have your order right in the bag because they take no responsibility and just come up with excuses

I ordered from door dash yesterday and order occasionally as a non vegan I enjoy the food a lot the food portions are great for 2 people and you could probably get some left overs as well I did have one of my items missing which wasn't a big deal i would recommend the spring rolls the filling is great I haven't been here for a while and i think they changed the sauce of the barbecued vege roast pork as it tasted different a bit more sweet if so could possibly someone let me know? I would definitely recommend some of the items as a late night snack as well come here when you can!!

Really love the crispy duck from this place but ordered the pineapple fried rice tonight and not my favorite. The flavor was weird and the order didnโ€™t include the spring rolls that I paid for. I tried it for the first time via seamless and the salt pepper king oyster mushrooms were awesome, the sesame beef seitan was amazing too. I thought I'd try it again later that week, except this time I ordered the exact same off their personal website (queensvegan.com). The quality was inconsistent and disappointing-- so off and different. The king oyster mushrooms are good but not when soggy and oily. The entree I ordered was drenched in the water from the broccoli, and the chicken protein had soaked it up and got soggy too. When I ordered from their website, the delivery driver made me come downstairs to get my order from her car (made me open the door while not wearing a mask), I had tipped extra for her to at least come to my building (they went to the wrong building first). I'm trying them again via seamless but be careful if you order from their direct website :( the quality is inconsistent. I just wanted to directly support local business, but I guess I'll have to keep ordering on seamless.

Really like the strong basil and ginger flavor of that semi-hidden menu main course with mushroom and nagaimo! The indian pancake is very, very flaky and melts in mouth. The pad tai is quite delicious, however it isn't the usual peanut pai tai flavor fyi but more like sweet and sour - the noodle quality is especially good because the rice flour content in the rice noodle is high (hence the breakage). The braised tofu skin is meh, because it's got more oil than I am used to.

Horrible food, horrible service but great concept. Btw Just because itโ€™s vegan doesnโ€™t mean you canโ€™t use seasoning.

  • 4/5 Jeffrey T. 3 years ago on Google
The Braised Tofu Skin and Dry Sauteed String Beans were very good. The Pepper & Salt King Mushrooms were tasty, but should probably be fried longer to give it a crunchier exterior texture.

The worst General TSO and sweet sour chick food i ever taste the sauce on both was bland. The Brown rice was cook in to much water mushy. The chick was to small to taste. If i can give it no stars i would. The food was bland. Store brought sauce taste better. The food was yuck yuck yuck. They was suppose to call me when the food was ready they never did. My first time there. I had to walk in to find out that my food was ready. Took a long time. I went 10/3/2020 in the afternoon

Horrible delivery service waited over 2 hrs not worth it. Update: it took three hours for them to say they are in front of my house but weren't. They claim that we are out of their delivery zone but its literally a 4 min drive to my house. They simply shouldn't deliver if they can't handle it The place won't take the blame. My house is not over three miles away and regardless of that fact if the order is placed 330, I shouldnt be getting called at 630 for the deliver to be "complete".

This is my favorite and go-to vegan Chinese spot in the surrounding Queens area. The owner and her family are so gracious and too humble. As for the food itโ€™s fire top shelf and the way you order there is fun because they have a virtual Cashier. Itโ€™s mainly a takeout spot, but you can dine in and I highly highly recommend this spot! Try the General Tsoโ€™s Bean curd, Sautรฉed String bean, Wonton soup, Duck skin, all their sushi rolls when available and the pepper and salt King mushroom. Enjoy!
