The backyard is absolutely beautiful. They take lots of extra steps to make sure that everything is super clean and spacious. The ital stew is absolutely delicious and I always order the kale salad every time I go. All the ingredients are super fresh and i can def taste the love in every bite. Don’t forget the baked plantains and the burger is a MUST. This place is a solid gem. Will keep going back.

ITAL KITCHEN⭐️ is a phenomenal food journey right in your own neighborhood. The food is delectable, fresh from the garden, plentiful and spiced with sophistication and authentic Jamaican seasoning. The Ital Kitchen menu is fresh as a dip in a mountain stream, and comforting as drying off under the sun. It took me right back to Jamaica. You will eat here and feel appreciated by the flavor, and nourished when you leave. The Chef’s choices also give you an insight into what our Jamaican culture and legacy is all about. A friend had recommended Ital Kitchen to me not even realizing I’m discerning because Jamaican food is my favorite. Now I wish there was also an Ital Kitchen in Harlem. Chef Michael and the CaribBrooklyn garden atmosphere are a huge part of the enchantment of dining here. You feel at home but you also feel transported. From I stepped through the door, the blend of sizzling veggies, root ginger and a few secret notes greeted me before I met the really sweet hostess. Chef Michael welcomed me, asked how is my day and invited me to stroll into the garden to choose a table. My friend and I couldn’t resist the Thai Fi Curry served with fluffy, whole grain rice blend. I ate til I was full, and still had the lovely bowl to take home for my breakfast! (picture) The rice has a presence of coconut cream like the typical Jamaican rice and peas, BUT Chef put his own style on it. There is a special blend of grains and the flavors are lighter in a way that makes you feel full but not weighed down. The stew has a dazzling mushroom curry base, with summer fresh produce like baby bok choy, chickpeas, perfectly firm okra and grape tomatoes, heartily cut. This dining room is BYOB, and the crisp Sauvignon Blanc we brought paired beautifully with our vegan spread. Garden dining seats larger parties (safely). Ital Kitchen is the height of Brooklyn dining experiences because it provides every joy that sharing a meal is supposed to give! Will def bring more friends back. #BlackOwnedBusiness

Unbelievably amazing vegan food that everyone should try. The only non-vegan dish is the salmon. The cook learned at Le Cordon Blea, and you can tell. Such wonderful approach to cooking. The place itself is sweet and cozy, and you can see the kitchen. Recommend!!

Honestly… I am quite disappointed with my order. I never write a negative review but I feel I had to for the first time. I did a Phone order and asked for the vegan Oxtail with Rice and Peas and Sweet plantain. When I got my food I saw the my sweet plantain were burnt (it was an additional $5 for it mind you so that was very upsetting), my rice and peas was just white rice with quinoa which had no flavor, was very bland and very grainy. Lastly, the Oxtail… I did not like it at all. I’m just disappointed with the meal that I did not get to finish which almost coated me $30. I’m not in any way stating that Ital Kitchen is a bad business. They probably had a bad night but I just wasn’t happy paying for what I got and not even eating everything. I hope for the best with this business and they continue to thrive.

What a hidden gem right by the Brooklyn Museum! Chef Mike prepared a delicious spicy curry and vegan jerk chicken over basmati rice while we soaked up the chill vibes in the gorgeous outdoor garden. Thanks to Lauren for taking good care of us. Can’t wait to come back!

My partner and I had an amazing night at this beautiful restaurant. I was surprised at the cozy outdoor/backyard seating area. The food was great and the vibe was excellent. The service was spectacular and made me feel welcome & at home. A little paradise in the concrete jungle.

Shady business practices, fine food. After our mains we were offered dessert, which we accepted, only to find out the prices of the incredibly small and tasteless cakes on offer were $18 each when the entrees themselves are 18-20. I really can’t see myself going back when I’d have to worry about the restaurant trying to scam me again.

Would go here all the time if I lived closer. Amazing food made with love and friendly people. What more can you ask for? Oh yeah, vegetarian options!!! Such a large selection of vegetarian dishes that leave you more than satisfied. Definitely try their juice, coming from someone who isn’t a part of the juice craze, I would get the ginger axe every time. Great outdoor seating area in back too.

Everything was delicious - so much flavor and spice in each dish. I especially enjoyed the Noxtail stew :) Really intimate and cozy space, just a tad bit on the expensive side for all vegetarian / the smaller portion size but worth it.

Food is delicious. It did take long (they already state that on the menu, so I was mentally prepared). It was a fun experience walking through the kitchen.

This cozy restaurant was like stopping by a family members house for a good home cooked meal. In this case sooooo good. We ordered the Ital Veggie Jerk Chicken and the Thai-Fi Stew. Absolutely delicious, seasoned well, and made with a whole lot of love. Then we ordered the carrot cake. It was so good that we ordered another piece and it was the last piece of cake. We will be back.

One of the best places to go if you want delicious food, amazing ambience and friendly service. The food is healthy and full of flavor and cooked fresh on the spot. It’s my favorite spot for vegan food in NYC by far!

My partner, 5 month old daughter, and I wandered in for an early dinner and were treated with open arms and delicious food. Chef Michael and his son were incredibly warm, gracious and fun to interact with. Chef Michael entertained our daughter while we devoured our meals. The salmon is a must and we loved the Thai-Fi stew. Ital Kitchen will without a doubt turn into a regular hangout for us.

Michael (the chef) is an amazing person that’s very passionate with his recipes. I believe it comes from his huge heart. He definitely deserves to be a Michelin Star!

The food and service was amazing! I had the Thai-Fi Stew and my daughter had the veggie burger. Both dishes were outstanding! This place is a total vibe. We will be coming back.

Best food I’ve had in a while! The chef knows what he’s doing and they’ve created a really unique and relaxing atmosphere. So happy I finally tried this out.

This is the place for a delicious home-cooked meal. Everything is so fresh and prepared right in front of you. I love watching the Chef do his magic. On a chilly night, my favorite is the Thai-Fi stew and baked plantains. When I'm the mood to eat light, I have the Kanoa Salad. And he just added freshly squeezed infused juices that do not disappoint!!

If you are ever down, or home sick, or you have had an amazing day…. The best way to add to your life that day will be, to eat a home cooked meal here. The food is great, the vibes are mellow, and the service is great. Will be back asap… found a new spot..!!!!

Finally tried this spot out for dinner and I’m so thankful I did! It has the most comfortable and homey vibe. You walk through the front and kitchen and it opens up to the coziest backyard. We ordered the ital veggie jerk chicken and the noxtail and you can taste the flavor of time and love in the sauces. It truly felt like a home cooked meal with your family. It was everything I wanted and more. Definitely will be coming back for more!! 😋

Fantastic healthy food! Very conscious about our planet (from small things like natural soap in the bathroom, cotton napkins..). Very fast service, could not have asked for more :)

Love the feel of the place, has a home feel but also you feel like you actually stepped into Jamaica on vacation. Food is very good and the chef comes out to chat with you. Good vibes, highly recommend even if you are not vegan 🌱

Chef Micheal is a culinary genius. He has managed to make our taste bud dance with vegan cuisine to mimic cultural Jamaican food. I had the noxtail ( vegan version of the dish oxtail) and it was superb. Not only did i taste like the meat dish, he managed to capture the texture. I will most definitely return to enjoy the amazing dish and try the others. This feels and looks like old Brooklyn local spot. Good food takes time to cook so please be patient. 😋

Michael (the owner) is the NICEST. Lovely eclectic decor, lots of seating for a small place. Food was uniformly great: tender, moist, well-seasoned. The veggie jerk chicken was particularly awesome! Also, don’t miss the “Yes I” smoothie.
