Yikes I took a really long time to post this review. I had lunch with a friend here back in June so things may have changed since then. If you’re looking for a refined spot for a lunch break, Oceana has got you covered. Ample natural light, sleek interior decor, and a well-dressed service team foster a near perfect Midtown lunch experience. It feels good to dine here. Not only that, the service is quick and attentive, without being overbearing. Oceana’s service team displays genuine interest in your satisfaction. Expect some friendly conversation and thorough knowledge of the menu from your server. My roommate and I were more than satisfied with our meal. I chose the Three Course Lunch; everything was cooked perfectly. Gun to my head - my favorite part was the deconstructed lemon meringue pie. Unfortunately, this is no longer offered as a lunchtime dessert. However, I’m confident that the Orange Dreamsicle Parfait is a good option!

Quite good food, excellent service. I usually don't go to places that would be called upscale, but given the nature of the restaurant the portion size is acceptable, though I prefer it be larger. Overall a pleasant dining experience even if I won't be back. I had the Monkfish. Loved the tangy sweet and sour flavor.

You expect to find great food in NYC. Plenty of street vendors, cafés, restaurants. Then, sometimes you want to go upscale. We wanted seafood. Someplace elegant, but not too much. Oceana was a perfect fit. Loved the warm and cozy atmosphere. You enjoy fine wine. They have a deep selection with expert advice. The menu has options for everyone's seafood tastes. Our server was attentive but not pushy. Dessert and after dinner drinks were perfect. A wonderful experience.

Absolutely loved this place. The service, the atmosphere, the ambiance, and most importantly the food were all excellent!! Nice seafood selection. The celery root chowder was to die for. Everything was top notch, including the desserts which were worthy of a fancy French Patisserie. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the desserts were made in-house. The epitome of NYC dining!!

Man, this place is great! 5 🌟 experience! This is a restaurant with class and quality from its dishes to its servers. The highlights for me were certainly the seared octopus and the lobster pasta. The best I've ever had. All of the dishes screamed quality. The chefs take their time to make everything taste on point. Nothing is too overpowering and everything is prepared perfectly. All of our servers were super knowledgeable and helpful in suggesting what they thought we would like. Will be back for more.

It is close to Radio City and Rockefeller Plaza. Restaurant called “upscale” but it is not the impression upon arrival. The receptionists in jeans and T-shirts. Waiters are professionals and friendly. Explain any questions you have about the dishes. By the way, the food is nutritious, tasty, and the portions enough. With a good wine list. Despite having a three course dinner, with good options, we decided on Appetizers: Mackerel Crudo, Arctic Char. Main course: Seared Halibut and Risotto with Lobster Baked Potato. Dessert: Fruit Plate and Orange Vacherin. I would strongly recommend this restaurant. You can choose from a 3-course dinner or La Carte.

Delicious food and excellent service. Wine pairings from the sommelier were a perfect complement to our meal. Had a large party of 8 for an early pre-theater meal and they accommodated our timing. Thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Will come again.

Oceana in NYC is a haven for seafood lovers, consistently praised for its fresh, high-quality ingredients and impeccable service. Their seafood tower is a must-order, overflowing with glistening oysters, succulent shrimp, and tender lobster. Don't miss the scallops, cooked to perfection and swimming in a flavorful beurre blanc sauce. The friendly and attentive staff will make your dining experience truly unforgettable.

Popped in a little before 5PM and got a spot at the bar, by 5:30PM the place was packed with suits getting a drink before going home. I decided to try the caviar special for $45. The lobster was the best! There were a decent amount of people eating dinner at the bar. Drinks were good but pricey.

We just enjoyed an excellent dinner of soft shell crab w/ a snow pea salad. The combination was superb, just the right amount, and the snow peas complimented the crab in a very tasty way. We both enjoyed it very much and recommend it highly!

This was a great place for a more unique culinary experience. The restaurant was a bit loud but the food, servers and staff made up for it. We even met some locals who were super nice. The food was great and we enjoyed our dinner.

Very nicely decorated place, plenty of space, you could have a work get together, a meeting, even have a romantic dinner there or just a drink, it has a space for every occasion and the food is really good.

This was an old favorite that struggled staying open during raw covid times. Food was a expected for the location but service has lost its luster. The restaurant industry is struggling getting experienced staff. It's ok to support them during this period but the price point does not support the experience at this time.

Dinner at Ocean, started with three Colossal Wild Shrimp, then mixed greens and finished off with my favorite Lobster Scampi pasta. Wish I could make it home like this. Everything as was fresh as usual. In and qut quick for myself.

The food was not that good compared to the high price. The lobster scampi was way too salty. The salmon and pan a cotta were pretty good. The service was slow and the waiter was rude. When we were ordering, the waiter just walked away without saying where he was going. We waited a long time for him to come back. The warm water had a metallic and weird taste in it. It was a relatively poor experience for an expensive restaurant.

Like always Oceana knocks it out of the park. The oysters were beautifully cleaned fresh and chilled just right. The ceviche was pleasant with a fantastic balance of acid fat balance. I ate it so fast I was barely breathing, the buccitini was a home-run. Service was on point and I’m over to moon to see this beautifully remodeled space lived through 2020 👏🏼

I didn't know about this place until I realized we all need to do Thanksgiving differently this year. 🙃 this was the first Thanksgiving where people were dining all around, and you couldn't be out. This is my first outing in 3 years where I didn't have a panic attack. Panic about being in a closed space. This place allowed space between tables...ceilings were high...well ventilated...and no overcrowding. I even carried food home. Let's talk about reception when you enter the restaurant. Garments took when you enter, and a visual line to the bar where your guests can drink as you all separately arrive. Marciano Drink master, Allejandria is so sweet and knowledgeable. Excuse my spelling in the names

Just had my dinner “experience” here. I can now die. I’ve had the best meal of my life!!!!! I am from a seaside town in Sicily and this fish was comparable to the fish that is caught fresh daily. The food just melted in my mouth. It is slightly expensive but the satisfaction was worth every penny. You MUST try this establishment. Ps.. staff was incredible. Thanks Felipe.

Great experience! The oysters Rockefeller were amazing, the best we’ve had of the 3 tried so far in NY. Halibut was perfect & scallops were good as well. They also gave me a complimentary chocolate cake for my birthday and went out of their way to make my meal special!

Wonderful food and a lovely atmosphere, but our waitress was having a bad night. Alejandra was rushed and offered zero recommendations- she just wanted to hustle us through every moment and be on her way to other tables. And the place was busy but not overflowing. Even the assistants, hostesses, and bus people were far more relaxed and courteous. A real shame because this would be a 5 star but for that one weak link in the chain. Might want to do some retraining- if the servers are friendlier over at Applebees- something is wrong…

Food was delicious with variety across proteins and beautifully plated. June was our waiter, and he was 5-star plus!! He was attentive, genuine, friendly, and efficient. The rest of the serving staff was outstanding as well! The venue was beautifully set and spacious. Hostess was friendly and accommodated our light luggage, so we didn't need to have them at the table. Excellent and definitely will return!

Great seafood. Nice atmosphere, seems to have a good happy hour presence. I had some really good oysters on the half shell, a crabcake and a delicious lobster pasta that I unfortunately ate before I took a picture of it :-)

This was one of the best pre-fixe menus and Christmas dinners my partner and I have had. Excellent menu, food spectacular, staff very professional and kind, and overall simply elegant and wonderful experience. We did the Christmas Eve Feast of the Seven Fishes 5 course fixed menu which was $125 per person, with the $70 wine pairing. I don't usually go for the wine pairing, but with this and all the dishes being so spectacular and bursting with flavor I HIGHLY recommend getting the paring which comes with every dish. Very knowledgeable and excellent sommelier. He truly brought out the flavor of the wine and the dish. I would go there again 1000%. There is a coat check as well so you are not cluttered at your table. Great location conveniently right outside of Times Square so it was great for our NYC Christmas trip. They also have a semi-private table with sliding privacy doors if desired for larger parties that is in the middle of the restaurant which is nice not to be secluded. Also there is a bar or bar tables if you prefer that to the traditional dining area. DEFINITELY make this restaurant part of your NYC trip. 5 star review all around for everything.

This is a very beautiful place and the food is very good and well presented. My favorites were the lobster bisque and crab cakes. I felt it was pretty pricey, but most places in New York are.

I got the frosé, tuna tartare, oysters, and calamari risotto. Everything was exemplary—especially the risotto. The risotto was INCREDIBLE, and I would say that there was enough for two. My friend celebrated his birthday here, and the birthday cake was one of the best I've ever had. As someone who's not a cake person, I don't say that lightly.

First time here. Can't say enough about this place. All the seafood tastes like they pulled it right out of the ocean, prepared and served it. Service is beyond, they are so friendly and professional.

My group of 7 friends came dinner here Friday night and was treated with the utmost respect and attentiveness from the entire wait staff. Every part of our meal from drinks appetizers entrees and dessert was amazing. I had the Calamari Risotto and Naked Cowboy oysters! My friends had the lobster risotto and they all said it was amazing!!! Do yourself a favor and book the reservation!

Great experience! We did the tasting menu. Great adventure of dishes to try out (app, pasta, main, desert) each dish paired with a different wine! Only cons we had was the pasta could of been cooked just a tad longer and the food could of been a tad hotter (I need to see some steam) The service was top notch! Busser showed my gf where the restroom was then came back and folded her napkin immediately after; staff was super friendly!

I went over the weekend for dinner. 5 stars. Service was on point, friendly greeting when we arrived, food was to die for. The mushroom carbonara and salmon are insane. We’ll be back.

This place is fantastic! They have an incredible Monkfish dish right now. Idk if their menu changes or not, but it seems like they have a very experienced chef that could easily make that possible. The Ceviche and the Crab Cakes were also amazing. The price was a little bit steep, but not when you consider where it is located. The presentation and service were excellent. Most of the people were sitting outside, I'm assuming due to Covid mask restrictions. If you're looking for a fancy, high-end place to eat, this would be a good spot. The menu was relatively simple and it's definitely a seafood restaurant over everything else. They had some great desert options. The pictures show the Monkfish, the Halibut, the Crab Cakes, and the Brownie.

Oceana is a upscale seafood restaurant located on 49th Street in midtown Manhattan, New York, just west of Rockefeller Center. It’s elegant, with great service and delicious foods. We had a very good time there for Thanksgiving dinner in 2019. Highly recommend it.

We enjoyed dinner for my husband's birthday here! It was amazing. The service was impeccable. I tried several different oysters, and my favorite was the Kusshi. My husband chose the Halibut Ceviche as our appetizer, and it was delicious!! We both had the Hanger Steak as the Main Course; the flavors just amazing! One negative, though, is that even at medium rare, the steak was tough, not the "like butter texture" I was hoping for. Overall though, I love this place!

Menu is predominantly seafood, not crowded at all on a Monday night. We went for the "tasting menu" which is really more of a prix fixe version where you pick off the menu but make 4 courses out of it. Walked out feeling nicely full. The halibut had a beautiful golden crust and a surprisingly moist interior, perfectly cooked. Dessert was (unsurprisingly) terrific, especially the hint of cinnamon in the whipped cream.
