Great food, much better than usual diner fare. I had the Chicken and Egg Sandwich and my wife had an omlette. Service was fast, the food was well prepared and very tasty. My wife likes her food very well cooked and they did it perfectly. Great place to grab a quick meal.

I had high hopes for a great diner (which seem harder to find in NYC these days). It was decent. Nothing amazing. The decor is super cute and colorful. The menu is varied as a diner should be. Our waiter was a little odd but friendly. I did watch the bartender blow his nose, throw the napkin away and proceed to grab 2 coffee cups and pour coffee into them without even considering washing his hands. The ricotta pancakes were average and the cream on top was good. The waiter forgot my bacon. The disco fries were decent. Good people watching from our table.

lovely place, dinner style food. menu offers many options. Family place, however I did not see a kids menu which would be a great addition. The staff was outstanding. They provide a smile and good service. Francisco was our waiter and he exceeded expectations. we will come back because of him

Great breakfast & convenient as staying in the new Yorker next door. A typical new York dinner with a varied menu & quick service well organised open 24/7 although it was busy every morning. The staff were very friendly & helpful especially Steve who helped us out on several occasions with directions. The food was served hot & very tasty with coffee refills perfect start to the day.

OK, so it's the biggest diner in the City. But so much of the diner experience is lost. Kind of sterile atmosphere, mediocre food, and very strange service. I asked what soups were available, and one server told me there was pea soup and chicken noodle soup. I ordered pea soup. Then the server got into a discussion with another server, who insisted there was no pea soup, only chicken noodle. To settle their dispute, they went to the kitchen where they were told there was no chicken noodle soup, only pea soup. Then a server came to my table to tell me I would get my pea soup. And a few minutes later the other server brought me: chicken noodle soup! Not good soup, either. It's a bizarro world in there. I also ordered a Greek salad and specified I wanted anchovies on it. Sure, the server said. Then I was brought a mediocre salad with, of course, no anchovies. I love NYC diners, but this one should be skipped. A waste of time.

A common recurrence in our 4 day visit to NYC.... Places are so busy and in demand that service doesn't need to be good. Consistent with our other experiences, this place is no different... Every buser and waiter seemed running around in chaos, upon entering, telling us there were no tables available when easily, 4-5 of them were available, and upon pointing that out, they said "sure, go ahead". Food selection was very pricey for what you get, and I understand you're downtown NYC, but certain breakfast items were certainly overpriced, missing what normally would come with breakfast items, like toast and potatoes. The quality of food was fine, nothing to rave about. In the 45 mins we were there, we ordered juice, and got a coffee instead. Another table ordered regular bacon, got ham.. or as they can it, Canadian bacon, instead. It just seemed like this place was substandard. I've visited NYC many times and it feels like things are progressively getting worse.

This is a NYC institution, at least for us. Food. Amazing. Service? You feel like you're in a Seinfeld episode where you're half being ignored, and at times being talked down to. This actually makes it fun. We've been several times over the years. Piece of advice, do NOT reserve a table on Open Table. You will not be able to fight your way through the crowd to be seated. Stand in line, wait your turn, and enjoy the amazing food.

Great location next to Penn station. We had an hour to spare before our train, so we went for breakfast here. Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. Avocado toast was delicious.

Very solid diner. I had a late breakfast there. Good waffles, good eggs, good bacon. Adequate coffee. Pretty inexpensive. I'll definitely go back when I'm around there again. Great corner location for people watching. Very close to 34th St Penn Station and MSG.

Overall it was a pleasant experience at NYC diner. For the city, price was reasonable and perfect for a quick breakfast or brunch. Eggs with hashbrown was ok. Pastrami Ruben was good but had way too much fat on pastrami. Had to flag down the waiter to get coffee refilled. If you stay in the hotel above or just getting off from Penn, it’s a good location to have a quick bite.

Had the Oreo Cookie pancakes. Worth every penny. Get this dish if you want to divulge in sweet debauchery. Whip cream; pancakes; crumpled Oreo cookies with vanilla ice cream to top. Perfect. Only thing missing was the post night cap cigarette at the end. Put this on your bucket list...twice...

Growing up in NY and knowing what a NY Bagel is and should be, and Nova Lox, this place is a disgrace to New York! The lox was salty as belly lox and the bagel was similar to a frozen Lenders bagel. My wife had eggs that were rare when well done was requested. Our server was very attentive, but with the food issues she didn't have much to work with. When paying my check, a man came to complain that he ordered his food over a half hour before, which was surprising because the place wasn't crowded. If you are looking for a breakfast place, skip this one.

The food is amazing here. Love the chiptole chicken hero with fries. N so are the cocktails. The Jolly Rancher is superb. There are various food choices. However, the customer service here is a hit or miss. I guess it depends on what time of the day you come n if its busy. Nevertheless, I love the food, drinks n atmosphere.

This is the perfect place to start your day. Great service from attentive staff. I worked my way through a fair portion of the menu and was never disappointed. Wheelchair access is via a lift in the New Yorker Hotel lobby. Once inside the diner, the staff will sort suitable seating area.

Always loved coming here especially for their Oreo milkshakes. Still my favorite thing on the menu. We had the traditional breakfast (eggs, bacon french fries) which was delicious. If you're there definitely order a milkshake

So part of visiting America was to try a diner too. Taking into account diners are somewhere to go to get easy no fuss food that is tasty this place nails it. It isn't cheap but when you take new York prices into account I think it's reasonable enough. Ate here a few times during my visit and found the staff to be polite albeit no nonsense which I enjoyed. Breakfast coffee is never ending if you so wish. The pancakes with bacon and eggs were great. Toilets are available downstairs. The staff do prefer if you tip in cash, with there being a charge if you pay by card which many other places didn't.

I frequent this place a lot. Especially when I go to the movie theater right across the street. Service is attentive and good. I was concerned about them requiring customers to be vaccinated but they didn't really stress it so I enjoyed my meal in peace.

Needed to look for something quick and cheap and I def found the spot! Second diner I’ve ever been to in NYC & I liked it. The grilled chicken Caesar wrap was a bit bland to me but the waffle fries & REALLY GOOD FOUNTAIN SODA (had to capitalize the letters since fountain soda usually sucks anywhere you order from) def. made up for it and my waitress had a bit of a weird attitude with my table and another I saw before leaving. I loved the vintage decor to the diner & the bar looked stack which was nice to see.

Alright. This place deserve to go out of business. There is human hair in the food (2nd picture). A piece of a Taco looks like is bitten by a human (1st picture). Restaurant have very limited food options. They use to have tots and that's what the restaurant is known for. But now, foods are very limited. Now, that I found hair in my food. I don't think I want to go back there again.

We had a really good breakfast here on our last day in New York. Classic diner food that came in large portions and prices that were on par with similar establishments in the area. The dining area with it's large booths looks great, you almost think you were in the 1950s. Really handy if you are staying in the New Yorker. The diner stays open 24hrs.

The food is good quality, albeit pricey for "diner" standards. You are definitely paying for the area. Staff was pleasant but not very attentive. Please flag someone down if you are in need of service, seems like their standard.

On a recent trip to NYC, we arrived late to Manhattan, and we were hungry. We walked by the Tick Tock diner and decided to give it a try. It is the largest diner in NYC, and it is a classic diner. The menu has so much to choose from. I started off with a Manhattan, and it came in a metal martini glass. We split the basket of chicken tenders. It comes with fries, onion rings, and honey mustard. It was a great snack to share so late at night. This is a very cool diner.

Overall enjoyed our visit. They don't skimp out on portions like a lot of other pricey diners in midtown. But, food was a little bland and service isn't very warm and fuzzy. But hey, working in midtown, I get it.

Great American diner food. Fulfilling and solid. Our waiter had a bad day but still did a wonderful job. Even helped us take a picture when he saw us struggling. I usually come late during the night and this is my go to for decent accessible food

Large area with ample seating -- the service is quick too so even during busy times you shouldn't expect a wait. Our waitress provided prompt, excellent service and the food was very good! If you are looking for a sit down place to eat that isn't going to cost you an arm and a leg and you like diner food, this is a great spot!

For me, at like 10pm on a Monday night, this is a late-night go to! After doing the Edge 1,271 ft City Climb and then drinking at some bar for a while, I came here quite hungry. The Philly Cheesesteak really hit the spot! Big menu with enough variety to please everyone. The Red Velvet cake was also great! Fun and friendly service. Great location. Fantastic!

The menu offers a variety of options, ensuring there's something for everyone. The friendly service and cozy atmosphere add to the overall appeal, making Tick Tock Diner a fantastic choice for a tasty and budget-friendly breakfast in the heart of the city.

We both got the ricotta lemon pancakes and loved them, and the coffee was delicious! The place has a cheerful vibe with its bright, fun decor. We can’t comment on what else they offer but for what we got, it was 5 stars.

The breakfast at the Tick Tock diner was good. Steak nice and tender and a decent size portion. It’s located across from Madison Square Garden with beautiful NYC views. Highly recommended and would definitely eat here again.

Nice fast food, sit down venue with a variety of dishes on the menu. We had a pastrami and Swiss with fries, and the chicken avocado club sandwich with a generous serving of fries. Reasonably priced and polite, attentive service.

Breakfast was always great here. The service was fine as well. It was convenient for us because we stayed at The New Yorker Hotel which this dinner is next to. There is also a private entrance from our hotel. The bum side is sometimes homeless people come in and try to get food. We went to the restroom and came out to a homeless man asking my daughter if we were finished. I wanted to buy the man a meal but the workers told him to go away. Other than that we enjoyed this diner.

We’ve went to the Tick Tock diner on 2 different days, so we were able to try both breakfast as dinner. The quality of the food is really good and the service was both times perfect. They make time to do a nice little chat and service all your needs. Only con is that they charge an extra amount when you want to pay by card.

One of the if not the friendliest diners in manhattan, even when busy the wait never seems to be too long. Staff are always welcoming and food is served quickly and hot. Always a regular go to place for me and one of the few places in NYC I keep going back too. Apple cinnamon, cream cheese pancakes are out of this world a must try!!

Visited here shortly upon arriving in the city after watching several YouTube videos hyping it up and well, I was a bit underwhelmed - not in a total bad way though. There is an old school diner feel and atmosphere here which is pretty cool. I came in when it wasn't super packed and decided on getting the Steakhouse Burger with fries. You get a good sized burger with patty, American cheese, griddled onions, some steak sauce and Williamsburg bacon (thicker cut bacon I'm guessing? I'm sure it said pork belly in the description on the in-diner menu but online it says different?) Regardless though, it was a tasty burger. The steak sauce brings all of the ingredients together well and I'm sure i could have finished a second if I wanted. The fries were warm and crispy and the iced coffee was a nice touch. Service was a little lacking (I never got checked up on to see how the food was or if I needed more water), but the waitress was kind and pleasant, which was nice. I might have come in after an extremely busy lunch or in between shifts so I can't knock the place for that. When you've worked with food for a long time, you know how it is. All in all, I had a pleasant visit and look forward to visiting again in the future and trying out the breakfast items.

A bustling diner right off Penn Station with a wide open filled with staple plates. Friendly service, clean table, very busy. Mostly tourist friendly but with New Yorker flavors and details.
