Paulie Gee’s is not the same anymore, sadly. Got here for the first time after pandemic, and was very disappointed by how much has service changed. There are waiters and staff on premises, but they still have you ordering through the app — I used to come here to spend time with friends and chat and just soak in this Greenpoint community atmosphere, while now you sit for half an hour trying to figure out their very not user-friendly app to place an order and studying the menu, and after order has been placed, they would add a 20% tip to your check for you. Ahem, excuse me? For my own work placing an order and studying the menu? 7% tops for not making me go get my own pizza from the oven. On top of that, you have to place add-ons such as chili oil or butter to your check that also are additional charge now (but before ordering it, go figure first, where is the add-ons section on the menu = stare at your screen even more, instead of spending time with the group you came with). This new system would be understandable (maybe) if the restaurant would be implying safe covid measures — less staff, staff is masked etc, but no — visually place is busy as before with staff just hanging out seemingly hoping customers won’t notice a 20% automated tip added for their laziness. With this all being said: overhyped, overpriced :/

Didn’t expect to walk into a place known for pizza and feel like I was in a saloon, lol. The food was fantastic! I couldn’t wait to try their vegan pizza and it was delicious! I kept it simple, but there were some great options on the menu. The Apple pie with vegan vanilla ice cream was also heaven on a plate!

Tageszeit: abends Personen: 2 Reserviert?: nein. Cool gemacht. Die Lautstärke ist relativ hoch. Die Pizzen haben leicht nach Ruß geschmeckt. Getränke lecker.

Went Paulie Gee's withe the entire family. The place has a cool old school vibe. Dark wood soft low lighting. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was really good. Six of us split two salads and four pizzas. The pizzas are around the size of a personal pizza and are wood fired. The pizza were delicious. The wine list wasnt huge but perfecta perfect fut for the munu. Definitely a cool place to go hand and enjoy the food.

I’ve been coming to Paulie Gee’s for over ten years now and it is one of the very few restaurants where everything is consistently great: excellent service, the atmosphere is wonderful, and the Neapolitan-style pies are fantastic. Still a 10/10.

Really good pizza, nice ambience. The motts pizza is a must, white pizza, garlicky, tasteful. Not giving 5* because the force you to order through their website. Absurd.

It was an exceptional experience at this delightful pizza place. The dining space was spacious and inviting, complemented by a vibrant atmosphere, jazz music, and tastefully dimmed lighting. We indulged in the Hellboy pizza, featuring a delightful blend of spicy honey, and the Ricotta Da Vita pizza. Each bite was a burst of flavor, with fresh toppings and perfectly baked crusts. The addition of pepperoni and creamy sauce provided a delightful texture. I wholeheartedly recommend this place for pizza lovers seeking an unforgettable dining experience.

Jay Z should not find out about this place. He may want to close it for private event every night 😄 Hellboy with hot honey is set to be the must try! My second sweet and savory preference was the Monte Cristo. If you are a brisket person you might want to do it as a forst or second pizza. I think you should think about which pizza to order first second and last.

I saw a segment on CBS Mornings last week about chili crisp and it mentioned that Paulie Gee's in Greenpoint was making a pizza with chili crisp. Thought I would try it this Sunday afternoon. The restaurant seems very popular. It filled up right away when it opened at 5p. I ordered the Xi'an pizza. It took 30 minutes to arrive. It was okay. Very oily. Could hardly taste the chili which is fine because I don't like extremely spicy food. But anyone expecting a bite will be disappointed. The menu and payment is via a QR code. Fine. Except the tip defaults to 20%. Annoyed by that, especially given that I had to tip in advance of the service, I only tipped 15%. Furthermore, there is no interaction with a server. Whoever happens to be in the kitchen picks up the pizza and delivers it. So the human element is totally out of the picture. You eat and leave. Kind of like Amazon Go. I had a totally cold feeling about the place.

Love love love Paulie Gee's. Huge selection....almost too much! Hometown brisket is one of my fav's. Bonus was meeting the man himself. Great guy. Love the slice shop too. Never disappoints.

Sat for dinner (table of four) on a Saturday night after about 15 min of wait. Order experience very smooth—all done on the phone. Ordered three pizzas, a side of marinara, and hot honey sauce. One of the best dine-in pizza places in Brooklyn. Make sure to ask for hot sauce as well!

All the staff were incredibly nice and Paulie himself walked to our table to make sure the pizza was perfect! Whatever you do get the pizza with cherries on it. Definitely one of the best and more unique pizzas around.

Went 3 times over 3 weekends and each visit was fantastic! Great atmosphere, wonderful food and and overall a good time. Our third visit was extra special because we also had the chance to have a conversation with Paulie himself. Thanks for the pizza, the chat and the two limoncellos from Paulie🍕

Good pizza. Get there right at 5 because it fills up immediately. My only knock on the place is there are too many options on the menu. I love pizza, probably more than the next guy, but choosing between 20 or 30 different varieties of pies is nearly impossible. That being said, you'll be happy with whichever one you choose. The staff is friendly. A place you need to try. Pizza Adventures: Destination #129

Got here early and got a spot for dinner! Ordered the Vegan Wild Honey, the Better Off Veg, and Mo Cheeks. All of the pizzas were delicious! Loved the flavor combinations. Friendly service. Something to note is that it’s kind of loud (bar type atmosphere) which was not bad but something to keep in mind.

Excellent artisan thin crust style pizza with some of the items from the slice shop but not everything. Personally, I'm more of a stop at the shop and grab a quick slice, but this is a very nice friends hang or date night spot with equally as yummy cocktails and mocktails; I also talk highly of the salads. There are many pizza's and menu items to choose from so consider studying the menu ahead of time. Also, get there early as it does fill up and I do not think they take reservations.

We ordered the Ricotta be kidding me pizza, the crust and toppings were great. Would’ve loved a bit more seasoning. Won’t go wrong with the pizza. Highly recommend it.

There was a lot of hype for this pizza place. It didnt open until 5 so we got pizza from their slice shop around the corner and ate in a nearby park. When we got to paulies it was just before 5 and there was a line waiting to get in. Everyone was immediately seated and i watched a billion more people walk in and get seated so im guessing the space opens up in the back. I didnt love the cocktails we ordered. There are a million choices so maybe nexttime i will. There were lots and lots of different toppings, many of which seemed odd. Our selection was delivered to the table super quickly, and it was great. Paulie gees is brooklyn pizza for brooklyn people.

So simple, but incredibly delicious. It almost seemed like magic. The tomato sauce was just like taking a bite out of a tomato 🍅. Must visit!

We had dinner here tonight, ordered about 5:05. Roughly 30 minutes passed and 2 people asked if we ordered, which we said yes. Little later someone came by to say there was an issue with their system and our order was only just getting started, as an apology they said they were giving us another pizza. Very impressive the way they handle it. We ordered a Hell Boy, and they gave us a margarita pizza too. Absolutely delicious!

Grabbed a table for 7 towards the end of the night. They were so accommodating considering we hadn’t booked. We ordered a lot. Great salads and pizza, interesting flavors and certainly unique to other spots I’ve tried. There was a white, spinach-y one that was so good. Felt like I was dining more high end even though it was pizza so was pleasantly surprised when the check came.

Delicious pizza with great toppings, expertly cooked. The crust was some of the best I’ve had in NY (which is already a high bar) and they have enough variety of toppings and other menu items to keep coming back.

Great pizza spot with soooo many choices to choose from. Love the option of ordering with your server or using the online ordering system. Pretty fast service and everything was super yummy. Definitely loved the cocktails as well. The service was fast and the servers were friendly.

Place is so quick and delicious. You'll get seated and use a QR code to order your food and drinks and pay and your food will come in minutes. A bit pricey but worth it!

Pretty nice!!! Loved the taste, the service and also they have vegetarian options that suited so well to my friends needs!! You should definitely go. Btw the protocols for COVID are respected so well.

First off let me just say the food was amazing. Unfortunately the service from the front was horrendous. Told us a 45 min wait which was fine, took our name down and said just come back in about 40. Came back and she had no idea where to put us gave the people after us a table before us. Ending up waiting another 15 min to be seated.

Update: went back for dinner and the music was much lower! So much better :) pizza was delicious. Good vibe Delicious pizza but the music is super loud - it ruined the experience.

Started venturing out because of COVID and decided to drive here. Been hooked ever since. Gotta say to everyone ordering a regular slice...y'all messing up! Hellboy² is probably the best thing you'll find around. Not the slice. The square. It's different on the best way possible. While on the slice there is too much meat and not enough dough sauce, the square finds the happy medium. Mega crunch bottom and saucy as f***. Burnt Roni cups filled with hot honey? Yes! Is it legit? No. Also pizza in Italy is pretty terrible. Eating overpriced peasant food in a different place is cool. not the pizza. NYC does it wayy better.

Pizza here is some of the best you can find! As a born and bred New Yorker, I will confidently say that they have possibly the best pizza in the five boroughs! And my lactose-intolerant and vegan friends have raved about their dairy free pies.

One of the best pizza I’ve had in NYC. Cozy, dark atmosphere that’s perfect for dinner. Highly recommend the Hellboy!!!

Just went last night, they said it would be a half hour wait but it ended up being well over an hour. At one point they were telling people it would be 2 hours to get in! After we finally sat down, the menu was on your phone. They had a lot of different pizzas to choose from, including several vegan pizzas. However, it was a little challenging to navigate the menu because you had to click on every item in order to see the full list of toppings. I finally picked one that had hot cherry peppers and roasted pork. When the pizza came to the table, it looked great! But my first slice had zero pork on it. The lighting was so dim you could barely see that there were only a couple strands of pork scattered throughout the pizza. The dough itself was delicious though. Tl;Dr: Paulie gees has a wide assortment of different personal pizzas. But for $20+ a pop and over an hour wait, I'm not sure if it's worth it. Maybe go after 8pm after it's cleared up a bit.
