We had the boat to ourselves it seemed. The ambience was so pleasant we stayed for hours watching the sky darken, as night fell. You can buy beers from the pier and bring them on board. Everything about it was magical. The gentle movement of the vessel was calming too.

It was a pretty cool environment, especially with them being able to sit us directly along the water on the pier. I tried the fish and chips and loved the malt vinegar powder sprinkled over it. The flavor was great with and without the tartar sauce, and the portions were plenty enough for me (I'm a big eater). My wife got the lobster roll, which had huge pieces of lobster and wasn't too mayonnaise-y. We also shared the calamari, which was a little chewy, but overall well-breaded and had a tasty, tangy, dipping sauce.

This place is a fantastic American 🇺🇲 restaurant! 🍴 The Frying Pan 🍳 is an iconic boat 🚢 docked on the Hudson River 🌊 that offers a wonderful selection of delicious 🤤 burgers 🍔, sandwiches 🥪, salads 🥗, seafood 🦞, oysters 🦪 and more alongside nice drinks 🥤 - definitely try the Fried ♨️ Chicken 🐔 Sandwich with Fries 🍟 and The Chelsea cocktail 🍹 (has vanilla, cinnamon, and coffee ☕)! The staff 👨‍🍳 is super friendly and welcoming, service is quick ⏲️, the place is beautifully decorated 🛋️, the ambience 🎶 is fantastic, and the view 🪟 of the water 💦 and city 🏙️ is incredible! They have plenty of seating 🪑 across the boat ⛵ and pier and accept walk-ins. 🚶 I wish I came here more often!

Excellent place for seafood. It had awesome vibe. Adults only place due to the alcohol. You order yourself and pick up your own food. Is really nice on sunny ☀️ day. If you go out to the end of the pier you can have 180 degree view of the water. The 1lb peel and eat shrimp 🦐🍤 is very nice. The tacos are nice. Also the fish n chips is large portion

Love Love Love the concept! It’s a great experience! We loved being on the boat while watching the sunset as sail boats went by. The service was excellent. My husband had the lobster clam bake and loved it! ❤️ He was so happy. I had a burger…..don’t eat the burger….wait staff was amazing!

This is an interesting place and I wish my experience was better. The food isn’t really good here. The wings were really salty. Waldo the service is not streamlined. Wish they were clear about how to get food etc. You order and pay at the counter and then come pick your food later. You may get a little seasick if you easily get that way and sit outside. I think overall this place has great potential.

The food here has improved over the years. The place is still the top destination for waterfront bar experience! I have to especially recognize how clean they've maintained the bathroom here, it's exceptional for being in the NYC bar scene and on a swinging barge!

A must for NYC Visitors! Super yummy food with million dollar views. It’s self serve and a family of 4 can eat and drink for under $100. Not sure where the poor service reviews are coming from. Amazing historic boat now a restaurant.

Mediocre food at a cafeteria. Fish and chips were both dry…they tried to cover the nasty looking fries by placing the fish on top…as if I wouldn’t move the fish?! To make matters worse, a good bit of the outside tables don’t have the umbrella attached, so if you want to stop in for a relaxing meal by the water, this is not the place. The place is like a cafeteria; you place your order at the bar and then they text you and you can pick up your food at the kitchen. Not impressed by the place overall. Also, not sure why Google maps lists this place as a separate restaurant (From Pier 66 Maritime) when the place is really just the Frying Pan.

Our go to spot on a beautiful spring or summer day, especially around sunset. Completely unique, this restaurant and bar on a literal boat doubles as a romantic date spot or a fun party hang with a group. The food is great, simple but delicious bar burgers and appropriate seafood plates. We love the fish and chips! Tons of fun mixed drink options, beer, and wine as well. Very reasonably priced especially considering you’re on a docked boat in Manhattan with incredible views. They’re handling post pandemic very well, in fact we kind of preferred it. Normally we just walk in and search for a table, but now you’re asked to reserve a spot when you arrive and they send you a text when it’s time. You’ll be escorted to a table where you order everything from your phone and they bring it to you. The service was INCREDIBLY fast. So fast we joked that it could only have come quicker if they’d read our minds. Did I mention it’s a boat? 🤣 A must visit for New Yorkers and tourists alike.

Nice restaurant that focuses on seafood. The bar are is also nice and lively. There are plenty of seating outside and standing by the bar. Great view of New York City and New Jersey . They have good oyster choices and the lobster roll is delicious. They offer other fried food that we didn’t try. Maybe next time

One of the nicest spots to get a drink / meal on the Hudson! Next to the sailing club and near Chelsea piers this boat restaurant doesn't disappoint! Good food and drinks, reasonable prices, gorgeous water views, and handicap accessible to boot! Love this place :)

Iconic parked boat on the water - great for summer drinks and hanging out on the breeze. Awesome ambiance and great city views. Recommend for dates or hanging with friends. Food is average bar grub - fries / burgers / wings.

First off this place is a place to go for the views. The NYC views. It looks so beautiful when the sun is going down. There is a reservation spot up on the roof which can be romantic. Other than that its self serve. The lobster roll is one of the best ones I've had in NY so far. Chicken sandwich is a hit or miss. And the fish tacos are flavorful and not fishy. The helicopter tour is right next to it so you will be interrupted by helicopters landing and taking off

We had several guests with us and everyone had a good time. All of us had the fish and chips, which was very good. Food is self service. Not a problem Your actually on a barge on the Hudson River Great views

It makes a great landmark I pass by when paddling out of Pier 84's Manhattan Kayak Company (in fact, Pier 66 was MKC's first home). Just for those paying close attention, the bright summery photos are from July 2010.

Restaurant on a boat. Pretty views. We ordered the hummus, vegan burger and tacos. We made reservations in advance.

Had been on my list of places to visit and it did not disappoint. The food was good, the drink was delicious once we mixed it. I was getting a bit of motion sickness from the boat rocking but tolerable.

I go mostly when my kid is sailing or at the HRCS Boathouse. The food is excellent and the view of the River is nice. If you are sensitive to the barge moving it might not be a great fit because the barge does move with the tide and wake of larger boats that pass by. The food is delicious but because of the location it can be windy out and if you are not careful things can blow off the table and in the river which I observed a few times at adjacent tables. It could use some heavy weight objects at a table to hold down napkins etc. I enjoy the Lobster PLT.

The place itself is great with an amazing view but there’s missing music or ambiance! As a suggestion.. I will hire a DJ and that will explode it 🌟✨

Liked the casual atmosphere of dining on a boat! Lobster rolls and fries were average but the price was reasonable for what you get. Don’t expect mind-blowing food but a average casual dining! Definitely worth it for a lovely sunset in summer for riverside views.

Their drinks are okay. Nice place to chill in the evening. Might get sea sickness. Worth visiting once!

Mixed feelings. The ambience is awesome. Great music, views of the helicopter rides was very nice. I did not like the self service system for ordering food. Drinks were good but not accurate as described on menu. Food was delicious.

One of the coolest restaurants I’ve ever been. I love the fact that this is actually a ship. Food was delicious and the atmosphere just incredible
