What other restaurant specializes in just Mac and cheese?? This place is so awesome! Great customization options and a solid test platter all served in a cast iron pan. Vegan option is solid if you add some toppings. Inside could use some refreshing but I can't nock them for that, bathroom is great. So fun!

Reihe :-)

A great place to grab a quick bite to eat while you’re in the East Village. They have some really good gluten free macaroni, and the breadcrumbs are gluten free too!! You get to choose a skillet size, and they are helpfully hanging on the walls. Just note that it will be filled to the brim with mac and cheese, so you might overestimate how much you can eat haha. I’ve tried the marsala and the parisienne. Both are amazing, but I highly recommend the parisienne if you had to try one.

I am not a big fan of the dish, I went there because of my daughters. However, this is the best mac & cheese that I've ever tried. Delicious!

We have been coming here for awhile when craving mac n cheese and it never disappoints! I usually get the 4 cheese but they have a lot of options and you can even make your own. The nosh size is usually enough for me but if you’re really hungry or want leftovers I would get a larger portion. They offer quite a few drink options even beer, wine, and cocktails. The ordering process is really easy, we have gotten both take out and dined in and the food is always consistent! If you want something sweet after the chocolate chip cookies are also pretty good from here!

This place was so cool, you come in and order on a tablet and then grab an open table and a table number and sit. They had great music and the food was so good y’all. Some good vegan Mac and it is hard to make vegan Mac good so my compliments to the chef! I definitely recommend it to my fellow vegans and I’m sure the non vegans will love it as well because cheese is delicious lol. Go if you haven’t already!

The presentation was nice but for the Vegan Mac and cheese it is a hard no for me. They use a cashew milk base and the cheese is literally just sweet sauce. Taste like sweet cashew or oat milk with no salt, garlic flavor, or seasoning. Doesn’t taste like Mac and cheese even though it looks like it. The creaminess is good too but for a real Mac and cheese flavor just go to Champs diner. I gave two stars because I am glad they have a vegan option for us but it was very limited and did not taste good.

Order experience was amazing via the self service kiosks. Waiters brought food out quickly. The only downside is you don’t get table side service. The mac and cheese dishes were super tasty! Order one size smaller than you think you want to eat, you’ll have plenty!

Oh. My. Goodness. Seriously, some of the best mac and cheese I've ever had. Lots of options - meat and vegetarian. Pro tip: look at the skillets hanging on the wall behind the kiosks you order at to tell the sizes. Then size down one. It's very filling! We came on a Friday at 8:30 pm and it was busy but we were able to find a seat quickly.

Great food on the lower east side. I went here back in 2010, so I'm happy they are still in business. I didn't care for the self-service kiosk, someone took your order before, and now the restaurant layout appears to be a little tight and informal for my taste. Still, it's worth a visit, especially if you love mac n cheese since this is the only type of food they make.

A small dining spot, but other than that it's okay. You walk in and order from a tablet and it will tell u to go or dine in. That's nice 🙂. The Mac n cheese is hot, cheesy, kinda plain for my taste but Its still good. The smallest pan is $8-9 but it's filling for one person!

Holy cheesy! I love the idea of Mac and cheese in a skillet. I ordered the cheeseburger and it was FANTASTIC. I ordered the second size up from the smallest and it was plenty and probably more than enough for one person. I wish I tried the sampler - I bet all of the flavors are delicious!

Always a favorite for comfort food. Love the breadcrumbs toasted on top. Try the Cheeseburger if you need something extra or the All American for the straight forward classic.

The place was amazing. The food is fast to come and it's delicious.. we don't eat gluten and dairy, so for us it's the best Mac and cheese vegan for nyc.. Please came to try this place.

Went here for the first time today. Didn't expect much from a place with only Mac n cheese but I really enjoyed it. You can get it to stay, go, or frozen. There are a bunch of topping options, I had peppers and onions while my girlfriend had spinach, garlic and broccoli. I would really recommend the spinach+garlic topping option. The place was pretty cool and there were lots of seats available outside. And you order on these ipads so it doesn't take much time at all. And they have vegan Mac n cheese of course. Will definitely be returning

I love Mac and cheese so this was excellent!! The sampler is such a good idea. It's expensive but worth it. I'd love to go smack a whole pot of this down. Some great flavours. Friendly staff too

Great Mac & cheese. Restaurant setting is a bit odd. You order on a kiosk then you walk thru some curtains to pick up your food or sit down. It takes a bit to get the food and when you get it it’s too hot to even taste but delicious. I made my own Mac & cheese with ground beef, olives, mushrooms and cheddar/pepper jack cheese. I could only taste the olives tbh but it was great!

While in NYC I really wanted to try vegan mac and cheese and we decided to visit this place. I love the idea of adding veggies into your Mac & cheese it definitely lifted up the dish. There was a slight artificial taste probably coming from the vegan cheese but I´d still recommend visiting this place if you want to have some vegan Mac and cheese.

Got the sampler. It was excellent. Price and serving size was good. Cheesey, creamy, good flavors to choose from. My wife got the all American. Kind bland but good for kids (who it’s recommended for). Definitely coming back. One of the best Mac and cheese places.

Come on, it's mac and cheese and not much else. I ordered the Neapolitan Mac and cheese which had fresh garlic, basil and roasted red peppers in it. It was very good, though it didn't have a lot of add-ins, it was mostly macaroni and cheese. Which is fine because those were delicious. I would've like more garlic and basil though. I also ordered a chocolate chip cookie which as you can see was bigger than my hand. Everything was delicious and I'll go back for sure.

I love visiting S'MAC when in NYC! There's something to be said for a joint that does one type of thing and does it exceptionally well. Every dish is made from scratch and served still bubbling in its own cast iron skillet. If you love mac and cheese, you won't be disappointed!

If you love Mac n cheese, you HAVE to check S'MAC out! A list of choices for you to choose from, or you can try the sampling plate (only for dine in) which consists of 8 different flavors of Mac n cheese. I'd ordered the Masala Mac n Cheese, love the taste especially for me coming from Asia visiting NYC. The experience starts from self-ordering machine, grab a number tag and find a table. Food is served pretty fast and of course taste those Mac n cheese while it's hot for that gooey cheese experience. Highly recommended!

I can't believe how good and affordable this place is and so many options for the Mac and cheese! I had the vegan option since I don't eat dairy and paired it with the low carb pasta as well as roasted tomatoes, green peppers and onions and hot sauce! It was heaven served on a hot skillet! Best Mac and Cheese in the city especially if you just want a chill spot!

  • 5/5 Elizabeth H. 2 years ago on Google
Mac & cheese heaven! They have a variety of sizes and the option to create your own skillet. Always flavorful and piping hot. Highly recommend to get the bread crumbs on top! It’s currently self ordering kiosks which keeps things quick and simple.

The ordering process was entirely via tablet, I didn't interact with anyone other then when my food was brought to me. As someone who wants to try everything, I loved that they offer a "Sampler" of 8 varieties, and that the sampler was served with a separate sign that clearly labeled each. It reminded me of having a flight of drinks. Note: it said only available for dine-in. Each flavor was distinct. I didn't have a single favorite, but maybe it was a 3-way tie between the 4 Cheese (it was in fact ridiculously cheesy), Alpine, and Cheese Burger. All American, Cajun, Napoletana were a 3-way tie for me next. Lastly I wasn't crazy about La Mancha (the fennel was subtle but still not my thing) or Parisienne (the fig made it interesting but also not my thing).

An incredible restaurant that's right near Bryant Park. Perfect spot for a date right after skating at Bryant Park. The Spanish tapas are just amazing from the cheese to the potatoes to the pepper to the garlic shrimp. Just get a mix of everything a d share! You won't be disappointed.

😁🗣the food is spectacular 👌, very delicious! I recommend them and those who attend are very friendly so do not wait any longer and go order your food

The kitchen is still firing on all cylinders but the atmosphere is lacking. Lockdown protocols are in place. Feels like they could have improved upon the techniques used. Feels a bit like a cafeteria with the 5 gallon water jug and lack of staff. All that aside, cast iron dishes and plenty of seating around the corner still makes it a good stop for locals but less interesting for tourists. I guess that’s a win.

Had the normal classic and it was so good! And the portion was huge! I had to share with my sister and we both agreed on five stars
