Trinity Church is an episcopal church located at 89 Broadway and Wall Street, New York, NY. It’s imposing structure and amazing gothic revival architecture makes it stand out among the modern buildings that surround it. It’s a historical landmark for its cemetery holds the remains of Alexander Hamilton and Honorable John Watts, as well as the Revolutionary War soldier’s monument.

Beautiful church! The solid metal doors are amazing in itself. The graveyard on both sides is a great place to wander around. With one of its famous resident Alexander Hamilton. The inside is a peaceful place. You do have to Show proof of vaccination. You also have to go through a metal detector. The staff are friendly. If you are in lower Manhattan or Wall Street area, you should stop by this church.

The church was closed due to Covid, but we were able to peek at the cemetery. Hamilton’s grave was being restored. Nativity scene was displayed at the front gate. Amazing grounds and very nice doorman

The present Neo Gothic Church you see today was built in the mid 19 century on the grounds of two previous ones dating back to late 17 and 18 century. Therefore it's considered to be the oldest in NYC. Trinity Church is set in the middle of Financial lower Manhattan district with many other attractions nearby. Entry is free for both, the Church itself and the adjacent cemetery. The cemetery has two parts on both sides of the Church with final resting places of important historic figures such as Alexander Hamilton and Robert Fulton.

Such a beautiful smaller church. Be sure to visit the cemetery. The tombstones are awesome to read. Some dating the early 1700's!

Trinity Church to me is one of the must see sights of NYC. While now nestled between taller structures, it’s hard to imagine it once as the tallest structure in New York. It is still a sanctuary from the bustles of downtown. The architecture is of course beautiful, and spending some time in the space is a spiritual experience. The cemetery is worth a visit as well.

Really enjoyed this church. Church is smaller compared to some others in NYC. There's a sense of calm here. Plus tons of history. I recommend coming here. See the Graves and enjoy the architecture.

Trinity Church, located in Lower Manhattan, is a historic and iconic landmark that has stood the test of time. I had the pleasure of visiting this magnificent church on a recent trip to New York City, and I was thoroughly impressed by its beauty, history, and significance. Upon entering the church, I was struck by the grandeur of the architecture and design. The soaring ceilings, intricate stained glass windows, and ornate details throughout the building are simply breathtaking. I was particularly moved by the stunning altar, which is adorned with intricate carvings and a beautiful depiction of the Last Supper. One of the most impressive features of Trinity Church is its rich history. The church has been a cornerstone of New York City since its founding in 1697 and has played an important role in the city's development and growth over the centuries. I was fascinated by the stories of the church's famous congregants, including Alexander Hamilton and his wife, Eliza, who are buried in the churchyard. During my visit, I also had the opportunity to attend a service at Trinity Church, and I was struck by the warmth and welcoming nature of the community. The music and liturgy were beautiful and uplifting, and I left feeling inspired and renewed. Overall, I would highly recommend a visit to Trinity Church to anyone interested in history, architecture, or spirituality. Whether you attend a service or simply explore the church and its grounds, you are sure to be moved by its beauty, history, and significance.

I have wanted to visit for many years, so glad I did. Shame that so much security has to be in a place of worship but I understand. There is such a sense of history sitting in the church, the architecture, the skills used, the designs. All of it is just amazing.

This is the one must see historic site in NYC. Go to Wikipedia and read all about it. A remnant from the early days of our country. A place of worship that our forefathers visited. Just beautiful.

Love the inclusive POV of the clergy and their sence of spirtual importance. Their dedication to the community is outstanding. Doesn't hurt they have the best muscial liturgical chiors. Cant wait for the premier of the new organ

We stopped here on our tour of Wall Street with Thermo Sage tour guide which was amazing - brought past and present history to life! Alexander Hamilton is buried here. The church was built in 1697 when the British arrived. Trinity Church HUGE landowners in the area - they OWN WALLSTREET!!! King's College (aka Columbia University) was an extension of Trinity Church. It burned down when George Washington was inaugurated as president so that is why Washington prayed over at St. Paul Chapel.

Beautiful architecture. Peaceful inside. Free to the public. Lovely place to stop in for some history. Pews we’re open for those who wanted to linger. Bathrooms available too. Church staff were also distributing meals to those in need.

Absolutely beautiful church. Feels kind of out of place, but considering the history and how everything was built around this lot it's pretty interesting to see.

Beautiful church from the outside, wished to visited inside but it's still closed to visitors and masses

  • 5/5 Enrique V. 2 years ago on Google
Only open for visits to churchgoers on Sunday which means you are also not able to walk the grounds immediately surrounding the historic church except for Sundays. Worth visiting any day of the week. The exterior reliefs, stained glass and view of the grounds through the wrought iron fence is worth the effort.

If you love history, this is for you. Lots and lots of history. Unfortunately its hard to read some of the grave stones, but considering they are 200 plus years old, its understandable. Alexander Hamilton's tomb is nice. Several declaration signers here also.

Very interesting church. The history is the history of America. The famous graves around the church are interesting as well. Lots of information to read about. Take your time strolling the church and the grounds and taking it all in.

A very beautiful and historic church down by Wall Street. The architecture is amazing and very detailed the staff is helpful you just need to wear a mask and have a covid vaccine or negative test to be able to go in. You can also walk around the graveyard and see Alexander Hamilton's grave and Jerry orbach from law & order is buried here too. It's a great place to visit what are your tourist or a New Yorker

We didn't go into the church but just perused the graveyard. It was a really cool experience to see the history and think about the life some people may have lead. Coming from the west we don't have as much history that goes back this far so it was cool to see.

In November I could only visit this church from the outside. It is really beautiful, surrounded by the modern skyscrapers of New York; small but imposing at the same time.
