Amazing service and good food. Really wanted to give 5 stars but there peers in the city offers more memorable food and offer more for your money. Every dish was well prepared but didn’t particularly stand out. It was nice that lots of the workers remembered my birthday.

Fusion done right. Jungsik’s cooking is both Korean AND French rather than a half-hearted middle ground. The tasting menu felt sleek and streamlined, one of the best I’ve had this year. Jungsik has many signature dishes that have been refined for a long time, including the octopus and the uni add-on. My requirement to be happy with a tasting menu is at least one dish that wows me. Here, I counted seven. The food was so delicious, I wouldn’t mind repeating the exact same meal. The atmosphere is a stuffy white tablecloth kind of fine dining, but the elegance of the setting befits the food. The waitstaff were attentive and practiced with a good sense of timing. Jungsik needs to be more transparent about gratuity. I was automatically charged 22 percent of the post-tax bill (effectively a 24 percent tip). I didn’t mind much because the service was excellent, but it should’ve been stated at the time of booking. P.S. Some images can’t be uploaded because Google thinks the two wagyu courses and yellowtail are inappropriate pictures. They were all delicious, especially the mandoo and the intoxicating aroma of the truffle rice kimbap.

It was wonderful from start to finish. We thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas Day dinner. The staff were very attentive. You will feel like the only people in the restaurant. It deserves two Michelin stars. The wine pairing was very generous and the food was filling. The presentation was artistic and creative. We would definitely return. Take someone here if you want to impress them.

Fantastic service and incredibly well made dishes with thought and consideration into every element going into the dish right down to plating. Very deserving of their 2 Michelin stars. First tasting course was mind blowing. 5 unique dishes all with flavours that make your tongue dance. Followed by a strong line up of fresh proteins (prawn, black cod, tuna, and wagyu galbi). Hands down the best meal and experience I’ve had since coming to NYC! The entire night was fantastic from start to finish. The wine we selected was a dry, yet fruity and crisp Riesling from Germany. Attentive service and overall well worth the experience! Would certainly be back again in the future.

The best Korean fine dining I've ever had. (I enjoy Atomix as well, but Jungsik is just sublime.) The wine pairing was well done and generous; if you don't drink a lot like myself, I'd recommend you skip it otherwise you'll end up with a table full of wine glasses...

Second time visiting here for my gf and my anniversary. Absolutely loved it!!! Only Michelin 2 stars that I would come back time and time again and leave with surprises. Excellent fusion of Korean and French with talented and creative ideas. All of the dishes keep the good balance of tradition and innovation. We got served by multiple waiters who are professional and elegant. One has offered a secret menu cocktail - omijarita, I ordered twice and he gave me a free one! Superior experience overall!

Incredible dining experience in every way. The waitstaff were impeccable, and the food was both fantastically delicious and creative. I will be dreaming about the wagyu gomtang mandoo and yellowtail kimbap for years to come! And the whimsy of the carrot dessert is just delightful, as is the taste. Truly, Jungsik is one of the best restaurants I've ever had the pleasure of dining at, and I sincerely hope I get another opportunity to visit again.

One of two Korean Michelin two stars in NYC. The place is relatively smaller than other famous restaurants, but the food here is exceptional. Every food is delicious, especially the Kimbap is my favorite. I was so said that the walnut bread (호두과자) was only one.

Went for Christmas eve dinner. It was a great fine dining experience. Desserts were exceptional. Literally blown away by every dish. Everything was perfect- food, ambiance, and the service. I'd love to visit this place again for a special day.

Um yeah this was a great dining experience. Tldr it's closer to a 4.5 - the one improvement Id suggest is the cocktails- it wasn't worth $30 IMO. The soju tasting was decent but stronger than I thought it would be. The space is beautiful, modern, elegant, a liiiiitle stuffy but it's TriBeCa so I get it. The banchan starters were delicious, honestly some of my favorite dishes of the night. That egg! Wow, that's technique. My other two favorite dishes was the crispy rice roll and the Arely dessert. The elegance, thoughtfulness and technique of every dish was beautiful experience. Great spot for a date night or special occasion. Also there's nothing that screams decadent like an uni bibimbap - it was delicious and the crispy rice was a unique twist. Overall a memorable night!

The food was incredible, a fantastic collaboration of French style and Korean flavors. Definitely up there with some of the 3 star Michelin spots we’ve tried. Wine pairing was lovely and diverse, although I would have liked to have seen more Korean drinks in the mix and on the bar menu. There were some minor hicccups in service (dropped utensils, slow start, etc.), but everyone was lovely and friendly the entire meal. Would definitely return!!

What a unique experience of eating Korean cuisine. Aigoo..Aigoo.. The cocktails were excellent..ginger taste like fresh ginger. Korean lime cocktail was really good. The octopus, at one moment I thought I was eating pork belly. The scallops with beets out of this world. The sea urchin bibimbap was added extra and thank goodness that I made that choice. The wine pairing was amazing it complemented the food. Definitely i need to comeback.

A perfect combination of service and food. Professional and knowledgeable staff that's doting and happy to be at work. Beautifully plated and crafted food cooked to near perfection hitting all the right taste buds as it enters your mouth. I'd take a star away because you never feel like the portions are enough, but for obvious reason, this is not the place to expect that. Can't wait to be back for another fantastic special meal!

We had the tasting menu with additional sea urchin bibimbap and dessert. The food was amazing, curated delicately. The octopus was crispy and juicy. High recommended.

Hands down the best restaurant in New York! This restaurant has really blown my mind with the artistry, craft, taste and passion they've placed on every dish. And usually I associate a tasting menu with over fanciness and not filling experience but honestly this debunks those all. Will definitely come back to Jungsik!!!

Pretty good meal overall. Just feel a little cheated because they didn’t let me eat the walnuts in the second last dish. The waiter that brought the dish said I could eat them, though not recommended, but another took it away saying that the walnuts are reused. Would change to 5 star review if they refund me $1.50 so that I can buy some walnuts. My anger was only quenched by the fact that they had sprite on hand.

As a Korean, I have been to many Korean restaurants in New York. This was where I could understand the value of why they got two Michelin stars. It was amazing to be able to express Korean food like this. The services of the servers were touching and classy. I visited because it was my birthday, and I felt sincerely congratulated. If you want to experience the high quality of Korean food, make a reservation.

My husband and I went here for our 1st wedding anniversary and we super happy about our experience. The food was delicious and was surprisingly very filling. Expensive but definitely worth it, especially for a special occasion! (My friends also gave me a gift card here so that helped for sure.) We did the nonalcoholic pairing which was fun, since it was a week day and we ate on the later side. This was something that was new and would definitely recommend if you can spend the extra money! They went above and beyond and printed out the menu along with the nonalcohol pairings for each dish. This was such a wonderful surprise! The staff was very nice and the restaurant is beautiful and modern inside. Also love that there is no official dress code either. Makes it feel way more welcoming than one may think! Would definitely recommend coming here since the food was delicious!

This was me and my husband’s first experience at a Michelin star restaurant and it was amazing. We chose to do non-alcoholic wine pairings because we have two kids to come home too 😂 If you had to pick 1 thing from the supplemental menu, get the NY Soul Ice cream (I forgot what it was called exactly)! Service was timely and professional. Surprisingly, we were both full by the end of it despite the small portions. We would come here again!

It’s been a while since we dined here but forgot to post a review until now. It was overall a good experience. The food was good; not crazy good but enjoyable. My husband did say he was still hungry after eating their 5 course meal, bought a giant slice of pizza minutes after we left this restaurant, and ate it on the way home. Lol

Momentous and memorable dining experience, flawless and refined from beginning to end. Lovely and creative amuse-bouche set the tone for a balanced and delightful night of unique cuisine Must mention the masterful preparation of each protein dish, from octopus to fish to wagyu, the texture was soft, melting, and perfectly prepared - in a very unique fashion. Particularly the octopus, such an unreal tenderness that was astonishing Palate cleanser followed by desserts were very satisfying, textures and temperatures rounded out sweet, savory and creamy Overall one of the best dining experiences in recent memory, the inspiration seemed to combine many cuisines, but distinctly showcased Korean flavors and heritage. Refreshing take on classic dishes, easily deserving of 2 stars

We ordered a la carte at the bar and had a great experience, but next time I would do the dining room tasting menu option, as the bar is dimly lit and doesn’t have the most attentive service. The food itself is AMAZING. We ordered langoustine, octopus, cod, mandoo (x2), kimbap (x2), and Galbi. Everything was very good and memorable, except for mandoo which was just okay. The cod was amazing but small and we should have ordered 2. Sadly the dessert here weren’t good at all compared to the main dishes. The carrot and ice cream cone dessert were pretty average.

Took my boyfriend here for his birthday and we both had a wonderful time! There wasn’t a single part of the menu that I didn’t like. Everything was beautiful, delicious, and thoughtfully prepared. The flavors worked perfectly together as everything we ate was so unique even down to the most ubiquitous dish of all — kimchi! The dessert was not too sweet and you could taste all the flavors because it wasn’t covered in sugar. It’s perfect for my East asian pallet for lighter desserts. The staff are also wonderfully attentive but not overly formal. We felt so comfortable there and could definitely see ourselves coming back. One thing that could have been improved was just the mention of the add ons. We discovered after we had left that there was an uni add on but we had no idea! Maybe it was unavailable by the time we finished. So make sure to ask about their add ons in case you like uni!

The foods were great but for me personally I’m not sure if I like it enough to come back for this 2 Michelin starred restaurant. Maybe next year I come back here and see how I go again 🤣🤣

Easily the best dining experience I have ever had. Sat at the bar and ordered most of the menu, had some stunning cocktails and wine. Service was beyond outstanding and the food was tremendous. Feel incredibly lucky to have been able to experience it all. Can’t wait to go back.

Third time visiting including the one in Korea. Never disappointed. Rather the food is getting better each visit. They deserve three Michelin star. NOT two.

The dinning experience with Junsik was extraordinary. The foods are elegant and chefs kisses and the waiters are super attentive. The first course is five pieces of extremely delicate appetizers. The ‘fluke hard shell taco’ is refreshing. My favorite would be the truffle beef tartare and the rice ball on the right upper corner. The egg with crab meat is also really creamy and tasty. The langoustine is one of my bf’s favorite. The caviar on the top is perfect combined with the fresh langoustine and the sauce is creamy and on point but not too heavy. Octopus is the most staple dish according to our waiter and it’s crispy perfect seasoned and paired with the gochujang creamy sauce. The samgyetang is def not as memorable comparing to all other dishes. The soup was ok, and the mushroom inside was marinated with chicken stock flavor. Yellowtail kimbap definitely exceeded my expectation. The kimbap itself so so well made and the yellowtail was seasoned with a bit chilli powder which is subtle and awesome compliment with the kimbap. Persimmon is a great palate cleanser. It’s refreshing and not overly sweet. The thronyhead was ok too. The fish itself is great but the soy sauce base is a bit too salty. The GAlBI is the way to go. I am not a huge steak person but I was blown away by it. It was extremely well marinated for three days and the steak was so soft and just melted in my mouth! Hodugwaja and the complementary desserts are inspired by traditional Korean street foods. The plating was interesting and it just blended in with other real walnuts haha Carrot was surprising as well. I didn’t expect it to be a dessert. The concept is cute since it was served in a 🪴 The carrot cake was tasty and sorbet was refreshing too.

Very good food/service, deserving of their 2 star Michelin rating. Some stand out dishes on the seasonal menu were the egg amuse bouche, cod entree, and dessert.

  • 5/5 Arvin S. 2 years ago on Google
A culinary experience like no other. From the moment you step into the restaurant you are greeted by a professional and friendly staff that is able to balance being helpful while not being over your shoulder. The wait staff is incredible. They explained the whole process clearly while being able to personalize your experience with simple questions. If you have concerns about the type of food or variety of food don't fret as the chef and restaurant will take care of you. The interior is extremely modern with tasteful colors and accents that remind you that yes this is a 2 Michelin star restaurant. The Food. What a journey. I had the seasonal menu with the NY-SEOUL and I was prepared to eat but I was not prepared for the amount of and variety of food they brought to the table. The dishes are small but there are plenty of them. Each dish has a story, a role, and a quintessential purpose. I do not want to spoil the various twists and turns one would experience but you may not like everything but some dishes maybe your all time favorite or just simple unforgettable. The Service: Our waiter was sublime. Being personable while being professional. Able to answer any question we had and being able to take our feedback or even possibly changing a menu item if he saw observed a plate not being fully enjoyed. A truly seamless experience. Conclusion: For many the price to be able to go to this restaurant is sky high. The food conjoined with the experience is truly one of a kind and a one I will never forget. I highly recommended Jungsik where the experience elevates the incredible food to new heights.

From the way the amuse is served, it excites us foodies! It has been a long time since we have had such wonderfully cooked fish. The fire was perfectly cooked and the texture and sweetness of the fish were brought out spectacularly. The meat dishes also uniquely delighted us and did not fail us until the final dessert! The ambiance of the restaurant is also very dainty and wonderful, a perfect place to spend a special evening with your loved ones! Thank you so much!!
