The location of this Hotel is excellent not far from a lot of things to do. I was there for work so no time for that. The rooms seem a bit small but are actually just right for one or 2 people. I thought I was not gonna be able to sleep because of how noisy NY can be but I was pleasantly surprised I slept as if I was out in the country nice and quiet. Customer service was awesome. Very helpful and courteous. My biggest and only set back which is HUGE for me is that there was NO toilet paper at all what so ever in the room. Thank goodness for a brand new box of tissue. I did not notice that till it was too late. I highly recommend this place just check all your toiletries before its too late.

Great place to stay if you're attending an event at Madison Square Garden. It's just a short walk. The rooms were clean and bed was comfortable. The free breakfast was decent and the area didn't look like a war zone. Everything was pretty stocked even though we arrived almost at the end of it. Price wasn't bad for New York. The only problem we had was our room wasn't ready by the time we got there, which was 2 hours after their check-in time. We didn't have to wait a long time, but when we got there it wasn't the room we booked so we had to switch rooms again. That's why 4.0 instead of 5.0 Stars .

I'm drafting a unique review ahead of my stay at the Chelsea Holiday Inn, and I must give a huge shoutout to Erika from customer service at Chelsea Holiday Inn. We had a reservation mix-up on our end with the booking agency for a conference, and I spent two days trying to sort it out. IHG made every effort to resolve the triple booking, and the customer service has been exceptional so far. However, it was Erika from the IHG membership team at Chelsea who really went above and beyond. Despite being disconnected several times due to poor cell phone reception, Erika called me multiple times to help resolve the issue. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and ultimately resolved the problem. I will be adding an additional review of our actual stay once it's completed, but so far, everything looks promising.

Got a room in the "newly renovated" basement. This room comes with a running toilet ($5 fix) and is next to all the rooms the workers use for storage, so listening to the stairwell door slam 100 times an hour really helps you wake up. The best part is the nightclub that has to be literally next door. It's so close you can feel the bass and actually hear the songs all the way up til 2am. It's almost like the hotel wanted more money and built extra rooms where they could. Oh yeah, booked 2 months in advance and our check in was delayed over an hour (along with about 30 other people) because they were sold out the night before and understaffed. Good thing they added the extra rooms and not staff. This place is a joke.

Firstly, we were given room 401 and when we entered the room, there were people in the room. It caused a lot of embarrassment. Went down to get another room and got 517. The receptionist said the manager will send a complimentary package to our door for the inconvenience but did not receive anything. The door for 517 was bent and could see the outside even when door was closed. The room had a very disturbing odor. The AC unit was disgusting. When the air conditioning was on it kept spitting out dust from the vents. Overall it was a horrible experience due to both the staff and the condition of the room. The bed was also not clean when we got in the room at 2 am and there no one to help. The only pro for this hotel was the location and the breakfast.

We had a nice stay here in August. We were moving our daughter into college and this hotel was about a block away from her school, FIT. This hotel is also located near Madison Square Garden. There are various places to eat nearby. It was easy to catch the subway to explore the city. We took the subway to the 9-11 memorial. The staff is friendly, the hotel is clean, the breakfast was good. The rooms are cozy, but that’s New York. They can arrange for parking if you’re driving into the city, but the parking garage they work with is about 4 blocks away and the clearance into the garage is low (5’10”). We have stayed here twice and would stay again in the future.

This review is for the front staff…Anna and crew are some of the nicest people I’ve ever met! I stay at this hotel often because of my work schedule (nights) and very long commute. I book it through DayUse. After staying here only a couple of times I was greeted, by name, as I walked in. Just amazing how welcoming and kind they all are! They go over and above to make sure you’re happy with everything. There’s a breakfast in the lobby every morning, which is great, and the women who work there are awesome and so helpful, esp Mary! Can’t say enough good things about them all! The option of staying here during the day to break up my commute, get some much needed sleep and shower before returning to work is SO convenient. Room is clean, bed is comfy and location is great!! To me, it’s worth every penny. I’ll definitely be staying here again…and again :)

Hotel was good. We stayed 4 night. Good location 15 minutes walking from Time square and great access with the subway. We picked Holiday Inn, since with them you know what to expect. Not surprises or guess on what hotel will match my price, like priceline. It's true, rooms are really small, especially for 4 adults. Breakfast was included and food was great with a great variety, food never run out the ladies in charge of the breakfast do an excellent job. Rooms were cleaned almost every day and we were greatly surprised by a customer appreciation box with good candy to enjoy after a long walking day at Manhattan. Reception desk also provided a great service and the bottles of water given every night we arrived to the hotel, were a great perk to have.

We stayed here in Nov 23. Although the location is good, as it is only about 10 mins walk from the Empire State Building, we wouldn’t recommend this hotel. When we checked in the man at reception couldn’t be bothered as he was more interested in his phone. He told us he couldn’t give us the room we had booked because the booking had been cancelled - no it hadn’t! He gave us a room right next to the kitchen and told us we could have our booked room the next night. We checked the internet and we could have booked a room straight away. The next morning we were woken about 6am as the kitchen staff started working. We had to leave our luggage with reception so we could move into our booked room later that day, no thanks to the person who booked us in In spite of checking before travelling about the gluten free options for breakfast, the only item offered was a bagel that was mouldy. Don’t stay here

A little dated, but perfect for our needs. Staff were amazingly helpful and made us feel very welcome. Great location with just a short walk to many attractions and nearby public transport. Good breakfast included, with a reasonable choice of food. Would stay here again.

Excellent location if you’re planning on going to Madison Square Gardens for any event. The area seems clean and safe. Rooms are decent size and clean. The staff are helpful, friendly and hard working (especially the lady at the breakfast station). I had an issue with the safe in my room (low batteries) and maintenance fixed it within the hour of calling them. I’ve stayed in NYC a few times and would definitely stay here again if I was attending anything in this area. Breakfast is included and you can drop by the desk and grab two bottles of water per day. Get to breakfast early as seating is limited and tight.

Rooms could not be smaller, honestly the overall size of our room (Room 1208) was the size of a king size bed. The carpet was dirty, the room with min toiletries (not like other Holiday Inn Express with Dove shampoo and body was). The bathroom was old and it did not give the sense of being clean. No refrigerator in the room. Breakfast was standard but soooooooo crowded and very little seating. It is was not a hotel stay to remember.

When we arrived there was not a booking in our name and the manager told us we would need to pay for another room even though we had already paid for 2. He was very rude and unhelpful. A "security deposit" was held on our card which should have been refunded at check out. When i chased this up I was informed it was a room tax. We were not informed of this at any point and i even confirmed with the reception lady that it would only be a hold on my card for the deposit. She did not mention the tax. £140 stolen under the pretence of it being a security deposit. JUST BE AWARE - YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE YOUR SECURITY DEPOSIT BACK!!!! The room was nice but very noisy. There was only one lift working during our whole stay so you had to wait a long time. Stairs were not an option as we were on the 15th floor. Breakfast was good selection but overcrowded. Wouldn't recommend staying here - treat yourself to somewhere better!

Great location, easy to get around to most of Manhattan. Rooms were majorly outdated and needed some maintenance, but the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was OK. My second day the coffee was burnt and undrinkable.

Very friendly staff. Extremely good location, when you are visiting Manhatten. Nice breakfast, although the restaurant seating space does not equal the number of guests. Rooms are tight, but in generally good conditions. Especially the beds are small (140cm wide) for two grown up men (we were 3 persons sharing 1 room). I'd go for the same hotel next time I'll visit NYC, so I hereby send my best recommendations

I booked the Holiday Inn Express last minute after all NJ Transit service to New Jersey was canceled due to signal problems. All I needed was a bed and a shower. This hotel barely provides that. The rooms are dingy, dated, and disgusting. My first room had paint peeling and four bugs. They relocated me to another room that also had peeling paint and the previous guest’s trash still in the bathroom trash can. The staff were nice enough to offer me a full refund, but I can’t imagine spending a NYC hotel night’s worth for such a dreadful experience. I know Holiday Inn Express is a relatively basic hotel chain but they didn’t even provide the bare minimum. Stay here at your own risk.

We had an amazing stay here last week. Location is amazing, rooms were clean and sized adequately for NY hotel rooms. I was a little nervous after reading some negative reviews but our stay was a very positive one.

Stayed here for 3 nights the past week and it exceeded my expectations. The ease of checking in and the friendliness of the staff was excellent. This was one of the cheaper places when we booked and offered free breakfast so we thought maybe it wouldn't be as nice. The rooms were small but great for the two of us. The furniture and bathrooms were NOT super outdated, CLEAN and everything worked just fine. The breakfast was a high point. Nice spread/variety of food and drinks. Fell in love with their cinnamon rolls! If I had to say anything negative, it would just be that they didn't have hand sanitizing stations available to use by the breakfast buffet. In this day of COVID there should be a place to sanitize, especially after touching elevator buttons. We also saw quite of few people coming in off the streets to grab breakfast so sanitizing stations would be a good idea. Location was great. Subway station right around the corner. Penn station was a 5 minute walk.

Anna and her team provided a truly first class customer service experience for us - wow!!! My wife and I stayed here in November of 2022 as we were attending a concert at Madison Square Garden. This hotel is located in a great spot, a 2-3 minute walk from Madison Square Garden but far enough away to avoid the crowds. We arrived a little early but there was a room ready for us and they got us checked in quickly. When we were leaving, we had some issues with our plane being delayed later than originally planned so they were kind enough to provide a late check out as well. Each time we came and went, Anna or another staff member made sure to greet us and ask if there was anything else we needed. The breakfast each morning was great and the room was just what we needed: a big bed and not much else. While the room was small, we enjoyed it as we really just wanted a king sized bed and didn't need all the extra room. Highly recommend this spot, especially if you're attending anything at Madison Square Garden or close by!

The staff was exceptional and treated us like family we stayed for 9 days always greeted with a smile and how is your day. Anna took the time to decorate our room for my granddaughters 18th birthday it definitely made her day special. The staff would always make sure they delivered items we requested in a timely manner. Breakfast gave you an option of what you wanted to eat buffet style. Only thing I wish they would have furnished would have been coffee in the lobby 24 hours. There were 4 of us all adults so the room was to tight for 4 people but otherwise they were nice rooms. I do have to give the highest compliment to ANNA.

Overall enjoyed our visit. Rooms are small as compared to any other city but it is what we expected for New York. We didn’t have a problem with the elevator like several reviews said. They are small but we didn’t have to wait very long. Breakfast was good quality with a wonderful friendly staff. Location is short walking distance from Penn station and close to the bus and subway station.

Loved that this hotel was so close to must see attractions. It’s walking distance to so many things. It also has a subway stop near by that is very easy to maneuver to take you to downtown Manhattan. The place was clean, the breakfast was great, and the staff were friendly and were quick to always make things right. I will definitely stay here again if I am ever back in NYC.

The staff were helpful and friendly The level of cleanliness was good for this level of hotel in Manhattan. One great thing was it had daily room service despite what you see recently on other places that it’s wither on demand or it does bot happen for the duration if your stay. The breakfast was decent. You have no views of the city as the building is surrounded by other taller ones.

The room is very small. No daily housekeeping. So you need to ask for fresh towels, and to take the trash out. The bath is old and not clean. But the location is great. And the street is quiet. The staff are nice.

I enjoyed my stay here. First the ease of checking in by the staff, second my room was as I expected nice and clean with a King bed. Third, they did let me know about COVID-19 impact on room service (you had to call the main desk for garbage pick up or to ask for more towels), fourth they gave me the wifi password in a handy key card holder and lastly breakfast! Free breakfast included! I wasn't sure what to expect but it was a buffet style breakfast, nothing too big of course, but enough was served to fill my belly.

Great location near Times Square and The Empire State Building. Clean hotel, pretty , friendly staff. Room is what I expected. The room had Tv, queen bed, A nice bathroom with tub, Clean towels. Breakfast was perfect: fruits, yogurt, cereal, sausage, bread, cereal, juices, coffee and several of delicious things. I will recommend this hotel 10/10. They should add microwaves or refrigerator.

Stayed in the city for one night and needed a quick place to stay, didn’t want to spend a fortune. This place was great! About as inexpensive as it gets, quality location and about as quick as a check in as I’ve ever had which was a perk at the time. It truly is express. Rooms are small but it’s NYC so expect it. I don’t think I’d stay here to visit with the family but you get what you pay for, great value.

Stayed here during a trip to NYC with 3 other friends. We chose it because it was cheap, so we expected cheap, but it was way beyond our expectations. Location is great. Room and bathroom was extremely clean. Free continental breakfast with hot food that seems to never run out of anything. They let us check in 5 hours early so we could settle in. Staff is very kind, whatever they’re getting paid, they need to be paid more. We were completely caught off guard by the free gift basket with snacks and drinks dropped off in our room. Beds were cleaned and made with new sheets while we were out. Amazing stay for the price. This is THE spot to stay.
