Quite a large room for NYC. There was a used interdental brush stick in between the bathroom and hallway for my entire 5 day stay which killed the vibe a bit. The beds were comfortable, the staff were lovely but the rooms do have a damp smell in them which lingers in all laundry and clothing. There is a safe in the room as well as a fridge / mini bar. No complimentary waters sadly. Floor 11 is fairly quiet

Great location, would say itā€™s walkable to Broadway, time square, Macys, etc. The hotel could use a bit of a revamp, the lobby carpet is definitely on the worn side, as are the couches and chairs in the waiting area. The rooms are clean and probably one of the comfiest beds and pillows Iā€™ve slept onā€” almost beat mine from home! I do really like how the comforter & pillows are down and crisp white, along with sheetsā€” hotels that use anything but white linen are questionable. I did enjoy all the plush white towels and bathrobes. I do wish we had a better view, especially since we got the Atelier. As far as staff, the nicest one was this girl at the front desk. Very sweet and bubbly. Other than that no one else ever really greeted us. Weā€™d just get looked at. I would probably consider staying here again simply due its location and comfy bed.

We just stayed 5 nights at the Refinery hotel in midtown and it was simply outstanding! I have been to the city several times and this is by far the best hotel I have stayed in! The ambiance is wonderful, staff friendly and responsive. It was our anniversary and when we arrived in the room they had gifted us wine, a beautiful candle and lots of goodies! Very nice touch! The rooftop deck was absolutely amazing! I would have given the service 5 stars but my experience with Parker and Quinn the restaurant on site with room service was not great at all. Didnā€™t match the hotelā€™s energy or level of excellence. Thank you! Great time! Highly recommend this hotel!

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Refinery. We splurged on our room and it was huge for NYC standards. The beds were comfortable and the hotel was quiet. We never had an issue getting an elevator or hearing our neighbors. The coffee in the morning was decent before going out to get the real stuff and the happy hour in the afternoon was also welcomed. We had an issue with our room a few days in and we had to move rooms, but they took care of it quickly and were very nice. I wouldn't hesitate to book here again as it was a good location for us to explore all parts of the city. All the staff interactions were wonderful, from the front desk welcome to housekeeping to the bellman who helped arrange a taxi upon departure.

The good: Aesthetics are beautiful. A lot of attention to detail. Complimentary wine upon arrival. Great location. Lively atmosphere. Awesome toiletries. The bad: The pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable. Motion detector in room clicks on and blinks all night. Super annoying and unnecessary. Vegas style refrigerator - fully stocked with their items. No accessibility for your items.

Loved the Refinery! Gabriel and Wayne made our stay extra special! The rooms were small but well appointed. Small issue with the shower but it was quickly repaired. The live music in the lounge was elegant and a very nice touch. The chilled glass of wine upon arrival was perfect and Gabriel and Wayne kept the pours going throughout our girls weekend! Hidden gem and perfect location. Canā€™t wait to return with the hubs!!

First off, the location is ideal. The Refinery is within walking distance to the theater district, several neighborhoods, lots of shopping. The staff went above and beyond. We were able to check in early (11am). Because we were celebrating our 30th anniversary, we were given a bottle of wine to enjoy in our room. The Atelier room was stunning and incredibly comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel.

My husband and I had a great experience at the Refinery Hotel. Upon arrival we were greeted by the staff. I loved the cleanliness and the fresh smell of the lobby area. The front desk staff was super helpful and helped us map out our excursions. Our room was very clean and the decor was nice. We loved that the hotel offered dining options and musical arrangements in the evening. The hotel is a great central location and itā€™s close to the Empire State Building, Times Square, and Grant Park.

I had stayed at the Refinery a couple times before for work, but never stayed for personal reasons. On this last trip I had my husband and son with me for a long fun weekend in the city. My son hadnā€™t been to NY since he was maybe 5 (heā€™s 10 now) and was so excited to check it all out. In advance of our visit I emailed the hotel asking if there was anything special they could do to make his trip extra specialā€¦ and boy did they succeed!! Our room was filled with beautiful balloons upon our arrival which he of course thought was the coolest thing ever! The team also set us up with some really great Refinery treats and swag (my son and I have agreed to share the ball cap because we both love it so much!). My husband, who also travels for work, had never stayed here before and he was really impressed with the size and price of our room (much larger than he was expecting for the cost). And what a perfect location! I am hoping that the 3 of us will return to NY this summer and if we do I wonā€™t even consider staying anywhere else - the team at the Refinery has won me over for life!

Nowhere lays out the red carpet like NYC! This hotel did not disappoint in emitting the wonderful vibes always received when visiting the big Apple. I celebrated the big 50th with my girls in November and an epic, celebrity style time was had. My goodness, so much fun. Clean, beautifully decorated chic rooms, and the candle smell intoxicating! Juan Vargas and Morgan Judge will treat you like royalty, providing superior customer service! In fact, the entire staff will take excellent care of you. Look no further than this beautiful rooftop hotel with epic views of the Empire State building. First class all the way!

One of my favorite hotels. From the minute you walk in until the minute you leave, a great experience. Beautiful lobby with an awesome jazz bar off to the side, and a nice restaurant in the back. The rooms are spotless and so nicely designed. This time, I splurged w/ an Atelier room, which has a large living area - perfect for this occasion when I had a couple friends back to watch a movie given the cold temps. The bed is one of the best of any hotels, and it's really hard to get out of it in the morning. There is also a nice fragrance throughout the building, and hopefully they sell a candle with it! The roof bar is open year round and is gorgeous. The location has lots nearby and is very central. Bodega, subway lines, wine store, great cafes and bars, all within steps.

Fantastic ambience in a great location that, despite only being a short walk away from the bustle of Times Square, feels like a very different, quieter world. The room and bathroom were spacious and clean. The vibe of the hotel couldnā€™t be any cooler. And to top it all off, thereā€™s a top-class jazz club, beautiful rooftop eatery and excellent restaurant all on the premises! We look forward to turning our stay here into an annual experience!

Literally everything about our 3-night stay was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean, spacious, and nicely decorated. Great pillows, big shower. We loved the jazz bar in the evenings, and the rooftop bar was fun for a nightcap. Several good bakeries and bagels are nearby. Easy walk to broadway shows and fun restaurants. Our stay here definitely enhanced the trip!

We loved our stay at The Refinery. The hotel itself is beautiful. Walking in, it has a cozy glam feeling. All the staff were so helpful and kind. Madison checked us in and we were able to get in our hotel room early. That was a BIG win. We were able to take advantage of the day, knowing we were already settled with our belongings in our room. The rooms are larger than other NYC I've stayed, which is a plus with winter travel and teenagers with us. The hotel is also tucked away so it is quiet, but also just around the corner from shopping on 5th Avenue, theaters, and more. It was the perfect spot for our family trip. We can't wait to return.

We had the two queen bedroom and it was surprisingly large. I frequently stay at NYC boutique hotels (Standard, Maritime, Public etc) and was shocked at the difference in size - total bang for your buck. Plus the shower was exceptional. Fantastic staff and good design, centrally located to travel up or down town, would definitely recommend.

This is our second stay at The Refinery Hotel in the last 3 months. Both times the stay has been excellent. Not only are the rooms a good size, but they are decorated wonderfully. The staff has probably been the best part. We booked multiple rooms because we were 2 families travelling together with multiple children and needed a set of connecting rooms with the other rooms in close proximity. I called a week or so ahead of time and explained the situation and they were so understanding. We were able to have the rooms just as we asked and they were ready when we arrived at the hotel. The location is also great. Right in the fashion district in mid-town but far enough away from the craziness of Times Square. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Thank you Refinery!

I come to NYC on a semi-frequent basis and this hotel is one of the best ones Iā€™ve stayed at in the city. The front desk staff were so nice and the bellhop was incredibly helpful. The bottle of water and glass of wine are a very nice touch at check in. The bathrooms are stocked with Le Labo products which I LOVE!! The room was so spacious and clean. I didnā€™t stay long enough to check out the hotel restaurant or rooftop. Stay here and treat yourself to a luxurious experience.

Location was incredible, close enough to target destinations and subways, far enough from overcrowded noisy areas. Food is great at the Rooftop restaurant. Overall ambience was pleasant, relaxing and trendy.

The rooms were beautiful and spacious. The morning staff were great. We were disappointed that we booked a hotel with a rooftop and each evening from 4-11 it was closed for a private event. The lobby bar was also closed so we had to go elsewhere when we had picked the hotel for that reason! Itā€™s a central busy area. I asked the front desk if we could go up to the roof to see the view and he said to ask the doorman who was then rude and told me the hotel and roof are separate so I couldnā€™t go up, it is not advertised that way on the website and at check in we were only told one night it would be unavailable, it was booked privately all three nights.

Absolutely the place to be for the Thanksgiving parade. From the moment I walked in the lobby, I was treated like a favorite family member. Everything about this place is so warm and cozy. Right at the heart of NYC, whatever you want to see or do is close by. Shout out to Miguel and the amazing Raymond for tremendous service. Love love love! Cannot recommend highly enough.

Fantastic Property in Manhattan. Weā€™ve stayed at the King Studio with seating area and high ceilings. Loved the shower, water felt soft and abundant. Service was outstanding. Thereā€™s a restaurant and rooftop bar on the property. Iā€™ll write my review on restaurant and rooftop bar separately

Had a lovely stay at the Refinery Hotel for our anniversary. We received a complimentary upgrade, which was so nice of them! The room was spacious - we especially loved the high ceilings. The bathroom had so much room to move, the shower was especially nice and large. I've stayed in some real shoeboxes in New York before, so having such a large room was a pleasant surprise. There was so much attention to detail throughout the space, we really loved the vibe. In addition to the room upgrade, we were also left a number of complimentary items, including some hotel merch and some wine. They really went out of their way to make our stay special for our anniversary. The bed was one of the most comfortable out of any hotel I've ever stayed at. I asked for the mattress details on check out and they were able to send us the info right away - apparently it's a common ask. Front desk staff were helpful and friendly throughout. There was a minor amount of noise (3rd floor), but really that's to be expected in New York. We used a white noise app on my phone on a low setting and that was totally sufficient to shut out any incidental city noise. Location was great - a quick walk to most Broadway theaters, tons of restaurants, etc. There is a parking garage directly across the street which was very convenient. Overall, a truly lovely and special stay.

Everything about this hotel was amazing! Clean, cozy, decorated beautifully for Christmas! Location was great and staff was friendly and helpful. The rooftop bar/restaurant was our favorite part of the trip!! The breakfast was also phenomenal would highly recommend!!

Wonderful stay! The hotel was so accommodating. They were able to fulfill some last minute requests and even provided me with a small candle on behalf of my birthday at checkout. Gabriel and Olivia at the front desk were so helpful throughout our stay. The room was very clean and chic. And their rooftop bar is excellent. Highly recommend and will be booking here again in the future.

Hotel lobby attendees were always so helpful and directed me when in need of anything. Room was clean and lots of space . The hotel vibe was very cool and the rooftop bar is excellent for views. I only wish the toiletries in the shower were bigger and more sustainable. It's a great location in the garment district next too midtown and all the attractions. Coffee ā˜•ļø was delish n free in the lobby.

Absolutely loved my stay at The Refinery. It was sleek and modern. The team was friendly and personable. The rooftop has a great vibe and the restaurant had excellent service and delicious selections! Definitely will stay here again when we are back in NYC.

My wife and I just spent 7 nights at The Refinery and we LOVED it! The location is ideal for quick acess to restaurants, Broadway, Times Square, The Empire State Building, shopping, and more. We had a standard king room and there was plenty of space for our needs. The bed was super comfy. The shower was great. The Rooftop is a great spot to eat or grab a drink. It was comfortable up there even on a chilly night. Our room was on the third floor and faced 38th Street. There was ZERO street noise thanks to thick windows. The staff was awesome regardless of what time of day we needed them. A special thanks to Stephanie at the front desk, and Ray at the front door. Both were a delight every day and were also a huge help with information and suggestions for food, activities, etc. We will definitely be booking at the Refinery for our future visits to NYC.

Iā€™m stunned that this hotel had any good reviews. Upon arrival, we were told our car was too big to valet (small suv), so we had to find a random garage unaffiliated with the hotel. Definitely not five star treatment, especially because we were still charged for valet parking at the hotel! Next they offered us wine when we checked in. We thought it was so nice until we tasted it and it had turned. We had to dump it. We then tried to use the shower and it wouldnā€™t drain. They sent in a mechanic who wasnā€™t able to fix it and said it was hair. Disgusting. And the mechanic was in our room with us until 9:30 pm, during Covid. Next we ordered food from the restaurant downstairs and it was not edible. Finally, the walls are paper thin and we were up all night listening to people coming and going in the halls. We obviously asked for a refund and were told theyā€™d remove the valet charge as compensation. (Even though they couldnā€™t valet our car.) The manager, Justina, had an awful attitude and refused to give me her supervisorā€™s name. This was the worst ā€œfive starā€ hotel weā€™ve ever stayed at. Please donā€™t waste your money!

Overall super clean and professionally run hotel with nice interior design and finishes. Definitely a luxury hotel, luxury price-point, and top notch service. However, the hotel's check-in system was down for over an hour upon arrival and none of the guests were able to check in for that duration, and I did have an issue with cleaning staff trying to enter my room despite a "Do Not Disturb" sign on my door. Regardless, it was still a solid experience and I would come back again.

We were a group of friends meeting in NYC for a special occasion. The double queen rooms were perfect for us but would also be good for a family. Dining options were excellent. Breakfast at Parker & Quinn was superb. We only had drinks (not dinner) at the rooftop bar but it's a great summertime spot. I would definitely stay again.

Donā€™t really know how this place has any bad reviews. We stayed for 3 nights and everything was amazing. Mitch at the front desk really gave great service and even gave us a bottle of wine for my FiancĆ©s birthday! The whole staff was really cool, and the room was super clean. Also the bathrooms are really nice. If I had any complaint it would be to get softer pillows. The location is also perfect, so close to so many things! Overall, 10/10.

I rarely post reviews however after my wife and our friends stayed at The Refinery Hotel, we were all so impressed with the staff, the hotel itself and its location I had to post my highest recommendations to those thinking of staying here. Most important, is the Refinery staff. Gabe, Missy, Ithiel and Stephanie were absolutely outstanding in taking care of us. Their helpfulness and just their overall fantastic enthusiasm and cheerfulness impressed us greatly. Bowled us over for sure. They really took great care of us. Moreover, the hotel and the rooms were tremendous. They were very comfortable and attractive. Just loved the place. Then add in the location which was easy walking distance to shopping, Times Square and Broadway, and you have the perfect place to stay. Now thereā€™s nowhere else we rather stay in New York City than the Refinery Hotel.

This is not only a stunning roof top bar with unbeatable views of the Empire State Building, but also the food and drinks were top class. A max and cheese that made you scrape the plate, yummy sliders, the spinach dip tooā€¦ everything was comfort food done excellently. We had a big jug of margs and just couldnā€™t have said more about the service or the food. Canā€™t wait to come back.

It's New York City - so rooms will be pricey - i get it. I paid (after the multiple city taxes) just under 600 for 1 night through booking.com then when we arrived we are told there will be 150$ hold for incidental- I understand - but THEN we also get charged 40$ per night (per person i believe) - for what? We each got a bottle of water, there was coffee and tea available in the am, and we could have some wine from 5-7 which we knew we wouldn't be available for due to plans. On a brighter note the staff was amazing - if you check in before 1 they charge you an extra 150.00 which was nice they mentioned that as we had a show at 2 to get to and tried to check in a few mins prior. No fridge in the room though you can request one unsure if it's extra. The tvs are able to be chrome casted from your phone. The elevators are run by your card - which we were not told and thought the one elevator was broken until another guest mentioned this. If you want a spot on the rooftop bar that's actually outside make a reservation - we went Saturday night around 9 and it was packed and we got a table indoors - around 10 it got overloaded with people. Pros - location - in walking distance from a lot of locations like Broadway and times Square. Bed was comfortable. Shower is huge. Staff was incredible. Mini bar with snacks (though quite over priced as to be expected) Cons - hidden charges that you don't get told until you arrive. Summary - though the location and staff were amazing for the price after the extra charges I would likely try another hotel on my next stay.

Very friendly staff. Great onjoining experience -- wine and water at the front desk. Great room. Clean and cozy. Nice location in mid-town with several good and close coffee/bakery spots. Had a conference in Hudson Yards and walked there. Even walked back from dinner from Central Park, not bad at all. Also the room dining was great - amazing burger!

The Refinery is my new go to NYC hotel . I was totally blown away by the level of customer service. The hotel is extremely accommodating and checks on you throughout the day via text. There were many perks like complimentary wine during happy hour and coffee and tea in the morning just to name a few. The rooms were spacious for a NYC hotel and has a Gatsby sort of vibe. There is a rooftop restaurant with a retractable roof and two other restaurants Parker and Quinn and a jazz bar. I really enjoyed my experience and have been telling everyone about their superb customer service.

My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our stay. Gabriel was very kind and went above and beyond to accommodate us. The rooms were smaller than expected but nothing was missing or malfunctioning. We loved the wine happy hour for guests and the fact that thereā€™s live jazz downstairs and a great rooftop upstairs makes it easy to enjoy yourself without leaving the hotel.

Amazing stay from start to finish. This was my second time staying at this hotel, and this will be the only hotel I will stay at in York city. The staff is wonderful and make you feel very welcome as soon as you walk in. I was offered some yummy wine, and was even given a free bottle of wine to take up to my room. Gabe and all of the front desk staff were warm and were it making recommendations to me about what I can do for fun during my stay. The rooms are huge especially for New York City hotels. Everything is clean and the products in the bath are very high end. It is a very luxurious experience and I felt that all my needs were cater to. I also ordered a charcuterie board from their room service menu, and it was delicious. I cannot wait for my next stay here!

LISTEN, LET ME SAY THIS HOTEL WAS WONDERFUL! I am extremely particular about hotels. It must be clean, smell good and fresh, crisp linen and hospitable. The food has to be fresh, hot and timely and customer service should be stellar. I believe that you should get what you pay for. This hotel did not disappoint me. As soon as we pulled up concierge was waiting to help us with our bags and very pleasant. We walked into to an exotic smelling entrance very comforting. The rug was a little dated but no so much in a bad way it was clean but had some mileage but not a huge distractor. You will have the BEST BURGER at the attached restaurant Parker &Quinn and the service was great. The rooftop was wonderful, the food was good and the DJ was good as well he played diverse music. The jazz on the first floor was also nice just be sure to reserve your seat so that you enjoy without having to sit at the bar, but even if you had to sit at the bar the bartender was wonderful to chat with very well rounded. The room was wonderful with a view of the empire state building. My husband loved that. The bed was comfy the base boarder of the bed is wood and could use a little padding so be careful to not bump your leg but again not too big of a deal. This hotel is in a perfect location central to everything you want to see! We walked to Bryant Park, and to our play. Just lovely. Okay now let me tell you about MORGAN is guest services she needs a RAISE because she was amazing folks. This women followed up with me to make sure I was also set and we were on the same page with the room decorations for my husbands birthday. They went above and beyond let me just say that. It is pricey but I will pay again and again if I am able to because it was a wonderful experience. Thank you staff at Refinery you simply outdid yourselves!

As so many have already said this is a fantastic hotel. Great location, the rooms were huge, the showers had great water pressure and all of the staff were amazing. We asked the staff if we could view the rooftop and they were happy to let us walk through and see the views, which are beautiful. If we had more time we would have loved to spent time there. Thanks Refinery! Your team is top-notch.

Outstanding experience. Immediately felt welcomed by the kind and knowledgeable front staff. We checked in later in the evening and they got us right in to eat at Parker & Quinn which was perfect. The interior design is classy and impeccable with a high level of quality and attention to detail. Rooms seem larger than standard, sharp, clean, and very comfortable. The location was perfectly situated for all of our excursions from Central Park, Times Square, Broadway, and shopping. Also, go for the lunch on Refinery Rooftop - food and staff are on point. Thank you for proving that businesses can thrive and be awesome in this challenging world climate. We will be back soon.

From the moment we stepped inside and up to the check-in desk everything was just great! After a long day of travelling, the welcoming smiles and friendliness were very welcome. Although we arrived too late for the complimentary wine, this was not a problem as we were given a bottle to take up to our room! We were also offered complimentary wine after we had checked out on our last day, as we had a very late flight home. This was our second time staying here (previously staying in 2019) and we were a little apprehensive, as so often return visits do not live up to expectations- we need not have worried- in fact in all ways our expectations were exceeded! The location is great for walking to all areas, but if you don't want to walk far there are several subway stations close by. The rooftop bar was atmospheric and the cocktails were competitively priced. The coffee in the lobby each morning was another bonus. Our king room was spacious and clean with a good-sized bathroom, kept spotless and well stocked with toiletries and towels. We even had a partial view of the Empire State Building thrown in for good measure! We have stayed in many hotels in New York over the last 18 years but this is one of just a few to which we would return- in fact as long as there are vacancies, probably now the only one to which we would return. Thank you to all the staff for a marvellous post-Christmas, New Year stay.

My husband and I stayed here as a last minute decision to just get away from our home (only 3-miles away). The staff was amazing. The beds were comfortable and their toiletries...well, they really did think of everything. The location is super central, but just enough off of the main avenues/streets to have some quiet which is a hard thing to accomplish midtown. We are already talking about our next stay.

From the moment we stepped out of the taxi to the moment we said farewell, the Refinery Hotel staff took excellent care of us. The rooftop restaurant served us a delicious. Our rooms were well appointed and so comfortable. And Parker and Quinn for breakfast was the best send off. I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to my next stay.
