THE EMPLOYEES STEAL…Managers: Jordan Carlisle and Thomas Williams are well aware.I had multiple items stolen from my room one evening when I stayed at this hotel this month. The door to my room was faulty, which only the hotel staff would know. An employee stole multiple skincare/makeup items from my room. I would never think to lock up those types of items in the safe. The family across from my room also experienced theft, much more expensive items were taken from them (this was on floor 25). You do not need your room key to access ANY floor, so there is no sense of security, obviously. Management was non-responsive in the matter. Told me I should use the safe in the room. Initially they credited my restaurant charges worth $65 which did NOT cover the theft, only for me to get home and find the charge BACK on my credit card. My total stay cost $1800 and $0 was credited for the items stolen. Jordan Carlisle and Thomas Williams are terrible managers and are very aware that theft is happening on the property. Do not stay here, if you absolutely have to, lock up EVERYTHING OF VALUE.

Stayed at the Renaissance New York Manhattan Hotel and was thoroughly impressed. From check-in to check-out, the staff was attentive and the amenities top-notch. The rooms are spacious, with a modern yet cozy decor. Its location is unbeatable for exploring the city. Definitely recommend a stay here.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. After staying at a different hotel in Times Square I decided to switch and go to the Renaissance and I'm so glad I did. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The rooms were clean and beautiful. Their elevator system was awesome and very modern!! The only reason they lost a star with me was because they did not offer room service at the time of my stay. The restaurant inside the hotel was open but no room service was available from them. Instead, they recommended another company that ended up having horrible service. Overall, I definitely recommend staying here.

We stayed at Marriott before and had great experience. Unfortunately, not this time. The location is great. Easy to get there from Newark airport - there is a train that gets to pen station and then you can walk to the hotel. Also it is very close to times squere and the empire building. Our room was nice and clean. We paid extra for a higher floor so we can have an amazing view. But as we arrived there was no hot water.. Which is pretty basic. We had a very long flight and wanted to get a shower before we go to dinner. The service needs to be better. We called reception to fix the issue with the water and they said they would send an engineer to fix it right away. We waited in the room, nobody came or called. Frastrated we got to the lobby and asked again. Only after we got back from dinner the issue was solved. We asked also if breakfast is included. They told us it is included and we should go dine on the 5th floor. The waitress there sent us back to the lobby then we were told breakfast is not included. The girls at the reception are just not nice, I mean everybody makes mistakes but they weren't even sorry. I would say that the concierge was great and also the guys on the ground floor they were nice welcoming and friendly. Another thing was we mentioned we are on our honeymoon - we wrote to them on the chat via Marriott app. We were told they would take care of it. Well didnt expect much but they didn't even congratulate us. Disappointed. But the location and view were perfect

Honestly the best hotel I have ever stayed in!!!! Made my whole NY experience a memorable one thanks to this hotel. I would say not to even read the bad reviews because this hotel is totally is the best in every way. We were so lucky to meet with a very kind gentleman who let us check in at the exact time without a delay. The lobby area was so relaxing and comfortable and also the bedroom had a very soothing touch to it. It was so quiet and peaceful. I stayed at the 20th floor. There was housekeeping that entered the room before the check in time so would recommend to use the tag “Privacy needed” when closing the door. Absolutely the best experience and the hotel.

This hotel is in a perfect location and offers updated rooms with more space than most stays in the city. I was pretty disappointed in other areas of the hotel. The bar and restaurant are average at best. The entry way is constantly chaotic and not super clean. I ordered room service once that never came with no follow up from management. Also, bathrooms hot water was spotty. Soap dispensers empty. Thermostat didn’t allow for cooler air. For the nightly rate and the reputation of a Renaissance, I expected more.

Flawless stay. Received an upgrade for Gold status and had a room with two queen beds on a high floor looking east over the city. Lobby and entryway were clean and well attended, all elevators working and speedy (trust me, this is an issue at some midtown hotels). The room was amazing, comfy beds and a great shower. This made a great base of operations for the kids first trip to NYC. Within walking distance of whatever you want to do in Manhattan, will definitely be staying again.

I was going to stay around a different hotel with a lower price but decided to switch and stay here and I am so glad I did! The hotel is in a very convenient location to the train station and Times Square/Theatre District! The staff were incredible friendly and helpful! The room was very clean and the view of the city from the 29th floor was amazing! This hotel is great for couples. Loved the shower with the frosted wall to the bedroom. One thing to note is the bathroom only has a sliding door. That plus no bathroom vent reduces bathroom “privacy” as far as sound goes lol! Definitely recommend this hotel!

This is one of the best Marriotts we have stayed at. The only reason we gave it 4 stars was due to the thin walls and the outside noise. Other than that, the rooms were spacious and clean. We enjoyed both the restaurant and the bar even though they were a little pricey. Great location for all the things we like to do.

The location is great as you can walk 5 minutes from Penn Station to get here. The rooms are good and the Aveda bath products are nice. We didn’t get our room cleaned one of the days we were here, even though they said they would. The elevators are always slow here - feels like they should have more than 3 room elevators in a hotel this size. The club lounge is great but only has food weekdays. On the weekend (as a Bonvoy elite) they forced me to take points as my only option - even though I would have preferred some way to get breakfast. Kind of irritating as other Marriott hotels in NYC handle this better. Generally a solid choice though.

The highlights of our stay were that the rooms were clean and it's a great location. All of the staff was friendly. We are Titanium Bonvoy members so we stay in a lot of Marriott locations along with other hotels. We were just disappointed with the following: 1) The photos on the website lead you to believe that there is a rooftop bar but it is completely separate from the hotel (fee) and closed the beginning of the week. We felt like the views posted on the page for the hotel were a little misleading. The restaurant is actually on the main level with no view. 2) Fire alarm went off multiple times (4+ times throughout the night and into the morning) during one of the nights. After the first few alarms (1am 2am and around 3am) we were told over the intercom that there was nothing to worry about. However, the after the last alarm around 7am there was no communication. Apology letters were left in the room after the incident and the separate club/rooftop was blamed for the false alarms. It was a sleepless night and we were disappointed with the way it was handled. 3) The hotel bar which is not on the rooftop but on the main floor with no view, was disappointing. The drinks were disappointing and the second night we ordered a drink $20 drink and it was given to us in a styrofoam cup which was strange as we did not ask for it to go. The reviews are low on the Marriott website. Read through reviews so you are aware before staying there. Marriott did not offer us the chance to leave a review as they seem to be selective of what guests leave reviews. The room price is high for what you get and there is a daily fee (you do get a $25 food credit).

We stayed at the Renaissance for 5 nights. The room was spacious and with good finishes. It comes with complimentary daily service, you do have to request it though. However there was no view to speak of really. The staff were incredibly friendly and very helpful. In particular the “navigator” desk was very useful and helped us numerous times. The bar area is brilliant, and has a terrace which is great to have a drink on when it’s a good day out. The hotel has a partnership with the gym next door, this provides the advantage that it’s a fully functional gym so has everything you need. Location wise it’s brilliant. Right next to penn station, it’s easy to get uptown or downtown. It’s a walk away from MSG, Times Square and the Empire State, even Hudson yards is only 15min walk. The fact that it is in midtown however means the surrounds are incredibly busy at all times, which in NYC is to be expected. We had a great time here and would happily stay here again in the future

Great stay here. Hotel definitely a four star it got bumped up to five star because of the incredible location. It is literally walking distance to all of the tourist sites and five minutes away from Penn station that connects to everything. Would definitely be coming back! Only thing is room service had to be requested though and not provided everyday due to covid policy I think?

We did a 4 nighy stay in Renaissance! Everything was amazing, helpful staff, clean room and a perfect view of the city. The hotel was very well kept and clean. The location was centrally located and a quick walk to wherever you need to go in the city! Valet wasn't available, the hotel staff directed us to S&P Parking garage about a block away. We had no issues dropping off or picking up the car! This will be our go to hotel when we visit NYC!

Beyond upset with the customer service here. My flight home wasn't until 8pm so the hotel held our bags (6 of them) until we needed to leave. We used the hotels car service to take us to the airport and the bellman kindly loaded all of our bags into the vehicle. I guess I should have stood next to him supervising, because once we got to the airport (1.5 hours away), we noticed that a duffel bag was missing. Without having time to go back, I assumed the hotel would help me retrieve my luggage. A week later, I now have to pay upwards of $350 to get my bag to me in a decent amount of time. I have medications that I need ASAP, so I'm unable to wait another week or two to get my bag to me for $75 instead of a couple hundred. The manager at the hotel was very rude and told me that the bag was brought back from the airport, where they notified me that the bag was there and I just never got it, therefor they cannot help me cover the cost of the shipment. Which is very far from the truth! I had my bag with me the entire stay until I got to the airport on my way home and realized it was missing. In which I called the hotel immediately and they said it was still with the bell man. I'm appalled by the way the manager handled the situation and his lack of care. Should I have stood by the bellman as he loaded all of my bags and counted each one, possibly. But never have I had to do that nor did I expect the need to. But you can bet I'll be doing that in the future. If you use this hotel to store baggage, you better watch every last item get located into your vehicle otherwise you'll be paying a pretty penny to get it back!

We had an excellent stay at the Renaissance, especially enjoying our 32nd floor room with an expansive Manhattan view. The rooms are not large but are stylish and well-appointed. The bed is comfortable, we never heard noise from other rooms, and the bathroom had ample amenities. The staff was always friendly, welcoming, and offering to help. The hotel bar is a great place to relax, but be prepared for pricey cocktails. If you have access to the club lounge, the breakfast buffet is generous. The hotel is close to multiple subway lines, as well as Penn Station and Macy's, and not a bad walk to the theater district.

Feels like the hotel and rooms have been recently renovated which is nice. Great location, friendly front desk, nice restaurant. A couple things to note: 1) if you have a king next to a suite or a suite, these are setup in a L shape so you can see into the adjacent rooms, 2) walls are very thin, 3) housekeeping isn’t the most on top of things. There are misses even when the front desk explicitly sends the feedback. For example, they left a dirty coffee cleaner with water still in the canister and never cleaned it

Normally, I would have given this place a 5star review; however, when I was staying here I became quite ill with a stomach bug. (I didn’t get it from the hotel) When I asked for medication or assistance it seemed as though their staff had never encountered a sick person before. Additionally, their room service menu did not offer a single option that would help a person who was ill and couldn’t leave their room. It’s a real shame because everyone who worked there was nice. But I was traveling by myself and really needed some basic help and was met with nothing. I eventually ended up in the emergency room, but wonder if all of that could have been avoided by the hotel stocking some basic supplies for sick travelers.

Just an odd experience. A hotel reservation was made 8/31/2021 for a check in of 9/9 and a check out date of 9/10. Upon arrival and after 30 minutes of searching no such reservation was found. We were later told we gave them the incorrect confirmation number by a female associate who come to think of it never provided her name. A reservation was created on site and room provided, great! But to make sure this is avoided in the future reached out to Guest Services and spoke to Joelle (forgive if spelling is incorrect) and he was able to locate the original reservation with the same confirmation we provided from the start. Informed the first reservation was lost “in limbo”. Anyway. Assured there would be no double charge but I’ll keep an eye out to make sure that’s not lost in limbo either. 😉

Just about everything about the stay here was 5 star. However, it must be mentioned that on a Saturday night, they had the music pumping from down at the restaurant/bar late into the night. We were up on the 35th floor and heard it pretty clearly. While perhaps not a huge deal to many, we had an early train out of the city the next morning. However, outside of that we couldn’t have asked for a better experience and thus we would recommend this hotel as well as the restaurant, Versa.

This hotel was a pleasure to stay in. The rooms are exactly as advertised and the staff is friendly and available. Due to covid room service is minimal. They will not come to your room unless Youcall in for assistance which we had to do for minor things like a new comforter since ours were torn already upon arrival and the sink water pooled a little bit but it was so minor we actually forgot to report it. You have to get food from their restaurant or from one of the diners outside. Again due to covid their services are restricted a bit. The hotel atmosphere is a vibe, with a rooftop restaurant and lounge called Versa. We had a skyline view of the city. My girlfriend and I enjoyed our stay. As born and raised New Yorkers, we had a good time seeing our city from a different perspective. Bring your camera and get photos throughout the hotel. One thing though. This is not the the Renaissance fault but when going outside site seeing be wary of the homeless. As this may be another pandemic within a pandemic in this city. My girlfriend and I grew up here so we're used to it. Give the Renaissance a try

Rooms at the Renaissance are well-appointed, blending comfort with cutting-edge design. Each room is equipped with state-of-the-art amenities, including high-speed internet, smart TVs, and luxurious bedding, ensuring a restful and connected stay. Its combination of innovative design, excellent amenities, and prime location make it a remarkable destination for both leisure and business travelers.

We loved staying here. Beautiful view of the garment district from our room, which was HUGE by NYC standards. Great aveda bath products. And everyone start to finish gave grade A first class service, especially the young women at the check in desk and the gentlemen at the baggage desk.

Had a great stay here this past weekend!!! The overall decor of the hotel and rooms are pretty modern looking. Got a King Bedroom—was surprisingly spacious for a NYC hotel room, perfect size for 2 people! Our room was clean—had amenities like a fridge, safe and huge desk. The bed was comfy too! I wasn’t a huge fan of their “contemporary with industrial-look design”—some parts of the walls just looked like concrete that had no wallpaper. Hotel location was good! They have a drive-in area in front which made it easy to get a taxi/Uber without blocking the main street. Check-in was easy—the concierge is located on the 6th floor. As a Marriott gold member, they gave us a complimentary box of chocolate and bottled water, which was nice! Note: the elevator system is a bit frustrating because you have to select which floor you want to go to and wait for an assigned elevator—often this took a while—once you get into the designated elevator, there’s no press buttons inside.

From Valet staff, Lobby staff and Bar staff, everyone was very professional, friendly, helpful and welcoming. The room was very clean and the area was conveniently located near so much. I want to thank Oscar who was our bartender for providing us excellent customer service and great drinks and providing us great options of places to go! Thank you Oscar!(Don’t forget to visit Florida!!) Anyway, if ever back in New York, Renaissance hotel in Midtown is it.

We had a great night here. The attendant that checked us in was very friendly and had great food recommendations. The hotel had a very modern vibe and we loved the exposed concrete in the room. Overall the room was clean and much bigger than other NYC hotel rooms. I'd stay here again.

Excellent location, within walking distance of historic site, entertainment and places of interest. Excellent customer service, special shout out to the Lounge team. Versa culinary presentation was great, definitely recommend this restaurant on 5th floor. Modern facilities and security features. The rooms are exquisite, I was on the high floor with lovely view of the city. Marriott membership and the service exceeded status. Only issue was internet access. Highly recommend hotel.

Great in every way except one. The good is that the service was friendly, the room is perfectly comfortable and clean, and the location is honestly fantastic. You are right in the center of midtown, which is great if you only have a limited time to explore the city. The con is that the hotel restaurant has an open roof and plays loud music for private events on the weekend, which means that you end up having trouble sleeping until the music stops around midnight. They do turn things down if you complain but there really shouldn’t be any noise if you are staying at the 20+ floor of a hotel. My traveling companion liked this hotel so I’m still giving it three stars, but I wouldn’t recommend staying here if noise has ever kept you from sleeping.

I was there a few weeks ago and loved my stay. The hotel itself was beautiful, very clean and great location. Service was amazing and very friendly! Daniel from the lobby bar was excellent, very passionate about what he does and has tons of knowledge on mixology. He makes the whole experience fun and exciting and encourages you to try new things. He’s very personable, makes the best drinks and has great recommendations! If you don’t know what you want to try, definitely seek him out!

Exceptional hotel with great amenities at no extra charge! Registration at check in were great and upgraded my room upon arrival. The room was very spacious with comfortable beds and most importantly, quiet. The layout of the hotel is very thoughtful and accommodating for guests. They have a nice lobby for you to enjoy or work if necessary. Great location that is close to major attractions, but quiet enough to get some r&r. I highly recommend and will stay there again.

This hotel has been my absolute favorite in the Manhattan area so far. I stayed in July 2021. The hotel staff was welcoming and friendly, the rooms and general spaces were well cleaned. I originally did the day pass as I was in New York for a day only but I ended up extending it overnight. The front desk was super helpful, and didn’t have an attitude about that. My favorite part about my room was definitely the shower. The hotel itself was modern and elegant. I enjoyed the fact that it was in Midtown and not in the heart of Times Square so the streets outside weren’t too busy. It was in walking distance of some decent restaurants as well. The windows and walls were soundproof so I didn’t hear the street outside unless I opened my window, and I definitely didn’t hear any neighboring guest slamming doors. The room had a fridge which was a major plus! I wish I took pictures but I’d definitely return so I’ll post a review then

Beautiful hotel! Beautiful view on the upper floors. My one complaint would be the elevators. First, I got stuck in one 30 minutes before the concert started. Such loud noises from the alarms and door malfunctioning. We weren't stuck for long, maybe 10 minutes. It wasn't explained how to work them. Like how to get to your floor or anywhere lol. Lots of people, me included, got stranded on random floors. Overall, would definitely stay there again if I ever have the opportunity to!

DO NOT USE VALET SERVICE HERE OR ANY HOTEL THAT CONTRACTS WITH SP+ parking. The actual hotel and rooms were nice and clean and we received great service from the hotel staff. Specifically Justin & Matthew have been an amazing help in the nightmare I have been dealing with since our stay and this does not reflect them in any way. We valeted our car since we are not from NY and paid $95 for our service believing that our car would be in better hands than us trying to park it ourselves. Instead it came back with $2500 worth of damages which both Renaissance and their contracted SP+ parking refuse to cover. Our intake paperwork shows that there was no damage and this is a brand new car. The valet brought back the car and parked it so close to the traffic that we were not able to view the car in its totality before we left but it is clear that someone tried to wipe off the scratches on the entire right side of my car. Instead of notifying us or letting us know of the damage caused by their service, they hoped we would drive off which we admittedly naively did. Ultimately this is above anyone who actually works at Renaissance and this is Renaissance’s decision to use this valet service which you can see has numerous negative reviews of damaged cars which you can see both on google and on their other reviews. Separately what valet garage has no cameras in it? Specifically SP+ who supposedly deals with millions and billions or fraud attempts, one would assume that they WOULD invest in camera unless of course they have a history of a lot of damages caused by their staff that they don’t want to cover.

This location is ideal for visitors as the hotel is around the corner from Penn Station and Herald Square stops. Walking distance to many attractions and restaurants. We stayed in early October for work. Rooms were clean and updated, and styled ideally for working and lounging. Staff was kind enough to upgrade us with Bonvoy status, but it definitely seems like a busy location as many calls for in-room requests (linens, water bottles) went unanswered. Wasn’t a deal breaker for us, but would have been nice to have. Overall, recommend the location for your stay, I would likely return.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Check in and out was very easy. The hotel room was a good size for midtown for 2 people. We were on the 27th floor with some beautiful views. This hotel is so conveniently located, only a few blocks from 2 major subway lines and the PATH. There’s a rooftop bar in the restaurant but we didn’t dine or drink there. Nice views of the Empire State Building if you walk all the way to the end of the terrace

The hotel is in a great location especially if you arrive via Penn Station. It has a very clean and modern feel to it. We found the beds to be very comfortable and everybody slept well. The staff was friendly and was able to check us in a little bit early. We had breakfast in the hotel restaurant and they have a really good menu. Most importantly, my daughter left her favorite stuffed animal in the room and we didn't realize it until after we left and the Marriott staff was very helpful in getting it sent back to us.

Excellent hotel. Had a room at 36th floor with an amazing view to the south of Manhattan, the Statue of liberty, Hudson river and Hudson yards. Great service from all the staff. Nice interior all around. And perfect location for exploring Manhattan. A really luxurious and pleasant stay. Thank you Renaissance.

Don't forget to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking a room. This website will compare hundreds of booking websites and typically will have rooms a lot cheaper compared to others! Thank me later on! I read reviews for every hotel and want to share my positive experience. The hotel is modern and has a nice bathroom. Manager (I think Joshua was their name) gave us a city view upgrade. Location is great and you won’t want to miss Liberty Bagels down the street.

Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel! The lobby has great seating and was a great place for a company Christmas party. The appetizers were provided by the hotel restaurant and were delicious!! The one thing that was frustrating about this hotel was their elevator/keycard system. It was all controlled by panels outside of the elevators on each floor and was the one annoying thing to deal with during our stay

Beautiful hotel with a great staff for a great price. I don’t think you can find a better hotel in midtown for this price. I highly recommend the king room with skyline view. $85 a day extra for parking I think it’s well worth it. Room service was a little pricy however they delivered our food hot fresh and fast. This will be my new go to hotel in Manhattan close to all the shops, theaters and food!
