Go for the experience. Go so you can say that you've been there. My recent visit, however, left me underwhelmed. The pizza was okay; there are competitors that are actually making better pizza. Grimaldi's Pizzeria has become a well-oiled machine, filling tables and moving bodies through the restaurant very efficiently. The small things and details suffer in the process. The pizza rack at the table still contained tomato sauce from the previous guest; not clean. Our table by the window on the 3rd floor provided a nice vantage point. Yet the wood frames at the windows were coated with dust. Details. We ordered three of the same type of fountain drinks yet one was flavorful and two tasted like carbonated water. The positive side is that the waiter, though puzzled, was receptive to replacing the two drinks. All of these things can be improved with better attention to detail. In lieu of that, some diners will have an assembly line experience, I’m afraid.

The place is fantastic, located right next to the Brooklyn Bridge, which has a nice view of the city! The servers are extremely nice and the pizza is delicious. During the summer we usually order a 16 inch pizza which is a perfect size for 2 people and we take it to go and eat it near the pier. But since it's still really cold out, we decided to eat indoors for the first time, and it was a bit of a long wait for 2 people it was about a 30 minute wait, but everything was delicious and we will definitely be coming back in the summer to order a pie to go!

I went here with a group of ladies a few years back when we were at a conference in New York. It was fabulous. They were able to accommodate about 16 of us. The manager came out and personally talked with us to make sure we were having a wonderful experience and gave us ideas of things to do while in town. Recently, we took our four teenagers to New York and so I insisted this was one of the places we ate! Again, it did not disappoint, but our experience was completely different. We ate outside on the patio. They thought it was one of the best pizzas they ever had. They have a variety of food and you can customize any pizza. All the ingredients are fresh and all pizzas are made completely from scratch! The atmosphere is friendly, open, and warm. You can see the bridge from the restaurant. Whether it’s just a group of friends or a family dinner, you’ll love this place!

Great lunch spot in DUMBO. Expect to wait in lines to get in and the pizza is every bit worth the wait. Must try their arugula lemon salad - it was sooooo gooood. We tried the trio bruschetta and Pesto pizza, both of which were absolutely delicious. Great ambience, great company with good views and good food - that's Grimaldi's for you!

This was my first time visiting New York and the first New York style pizza I had. It was absolutely amazing! Great atmosphere, great food and drinks. Although the building looks to be under construction on the exterior, the interior was classic and felt what I thought New York would feel like. Will definitely be back when I visit again!

Wonderful 1st time experience. We had a minimal wait to be seated. The pizza was fresh and hot! Our server was attentive and the pizza was served quickly.

We quickly were seated thanks to our vaccination cards. Our two wood fired oven pizzas were very good, even though one the waiter brought was the wrong pizza. It was so busy, we just ate it anyway and didn't make a fuss. Waiters were not all wearing masks over both their mouths and noses, but it was good to know everyone in the crowded room was vaccinated. Stairs to the upper floor could be a challenge for some (not sure if there was an elevator tucked away somewhere?)

If you’re looking for the best pizza from NYC (and not only) you should stop. This is the perfect place. My second time here as a tourist (4 years between visits) and still the best pizza. The staff is really friendly, the place is clean. If you don’t want to wait in queue you should book a table. The waiting is not too long if you’re group is small or if you don’t bother to stay at the bar (we did). You should definitely try it! ❤️

Really enjoyed this pizza at an iconic pizza joint! We just split a white pizza with prosciutto and arugula, but it was more than enough, we even took home leftovers. We got seated right away (walk-ins) which was great, as we had just tried to get a table at the restaurant next door but there was a super long line - and owned/started by the same owner as Grimaldi’s!

This is a quaint place that is practicing social distancing. The wait staff tries to be helpful but keeps going back to the kitchen with questions. They make a variety of specials. See menu! Super thin crust and tasty!

Love the Sinatra music playing in the background. Got in around 5, and it was almost empty. The staff didn't know I was hiding at the bar. It's not a rush kind of atmosphere. The pizza was excellent, and the cheese was amazing. Ordered the Brooklyn, and I was glad I did. Only available starting at 16" so it was a big pizza for one guy. It's a tourist place but it's actually very good pizza so it's a deserved reputation. I'll be back in the future. Be aware that the crust seems to be set on a salt bed somewhere in the making. It will hit you every once in a while from the bottom of the crust. It'll get your attention. If you hate straight salt, be warned. The pizza itself is not salty at all.

Absolutely great pizza and local beer for the taste of Brooklyn. Good atmosphere with classical music. Must visit if you cross the Brooklyn Bridge. Not sure about parking etc. Very helpful staff. Single-use washroom so there can be a line.

BEST CHEESECAKE EVER!!! The cheesecake is so creamy, fluffy and perfectly sweet. It is more like authentic Italian, rather than being a NY style cheesecake. But that is a good thing! I would also like to add that I had the best pizza of my life 🍕 here!!! 😃 We got the large pizza 1/2 white & 1/2 Margherita with pepperoni & roasted red peppers.

I recently visited Grimaldi’s and I must say, the pizzas were absolutely delicious! Thin crust tasted great , but … The staff were very rude, especially one at the register, made us wait almost 30 minutes, wrote the wrong name and kept pizza until we called for manager.. One thing that really impressed me was the variety of pizza flavors available. They offer a wide range of options that cater to different tastes, including vegetarian options. It's great to see a restaurant that is able to accommodate different dietary restrictions. Overall, I highly recommend Grimaldi’s . The pizzas are top-notch,, and the ambiance is just right. Whether you're looking for a night out or a tasty meal at home, this place has got you covered.

Line out the door! But very quickly accommodated. Unfortunately we got some dirty silverware with our table. The manager was very on top of everything and was present and interactive. Food was quick. Shared an antipasto and a large Brooklyn Bridge pizza. The pizza was everything it should be 🤌 Had a chocolate cannoli and a traditional one. If you don't like too sweet, def go with the traditional. Overall love the place.

I have to say, after being gassed up by all the great reviews on line, my kids and I were a bit disappointed. We got the impression that this was the best pizza in New York, but hey. The white pizza was incredibly cloying, I couldn’t have more than one slice. It was good, but the strong garlic and onion stuffing became too much after a while. Crust was dry. Waiter could have been friendlier.

Great pizza. Lots of choices. We only waited 5 minutes. They quoted us 20 minutes. Lots of tables for the server to handle.she was super friendly and did pretty well. Our food came out quickly. Our pizza was great. Loved that we got to eat at the original location.

We stopped by at 5:30 on a Friday night and walked straight in. Even as we were leaving there still wasn’t a queue which was great! We shared a margarita pizza and as everyone else has said - the coal oven leaves a delicious taste on the crust. The sauce is tasty and a good balance between acidic and sweet. They do take card which was great. All in all a good experience!

I highly recommend that Brooklyn Bridge pizza. It’s very yummy. The environment of restaurant is very comfortable. However, I guess the restaurant is lack of manpower. All the staff was very busy with tasks. Some services was not in timely manner.

My favourite pizza crust in the world! Been here many times and it never failed me. The only pizza crust that would hold anything you put on it without caving and yet stay nice. The place is usually packed. So you wanna come before rush hour. Staff is friendly and provides prompt service, problem is that they sometimes make mistakes like not giving any cutlery or in our case serving the wrong pie size. Anyway, the pizza compensates for it all, just an amazing pie. We also had the lemon arugula salad which was nice.

We got together with our friend last night, but it was late, and restaurants have been closing earlier since the pandemic, so it was a toss up between Table 87 and Grimaldi’s… We chose Grimaldi’s because we haven’t been there since the new owners took over, and also for the Brooklyn Bridge photo shoots. I called ahead to see how the Wait time would be and there was no line, however, that could change at any time. Luckily… no line, and we were seated on the second floor at a window seat. Plates and silverware came without napkins, two out of the three plates had a pebble and a crushed red pepper flake, but the glasses were clean. We ordered the Quattro Formaggio, it smelled fantastic. I found the pizza to be too thin with a wafer-like topping of cheese. The true Quattro Formaggi has a bit more sustenance, you shouldn’t leave hungry, at this point they were already cleaning the ovens, so we ordered a cold antipasto, and that was a mistake. Everything was low grade, it repeated on me until I got home. The extra stars are for the service, they we’re fun. If they get better quality food and rename the pizza according to how they want to make it: ie “thin crust Quattro Formaggi”, I may recommend them.

Other than the hostess or 'security guard' whom was a very serious looking lady, not friendly and helpful at all, rest of the experience was good. For lunch, they closed at 4pm, but would kinda stop accepting walk-in or orders probably around 3.20pm to 3.30pm (same goes for Juliana's pizza and I was there prior and the staff did not even bother asking or at least try). I arrived at that time and decided to opt for takeaway. The lady staff manning the counter was really sweet and she offered to check with kitchen if they can still made one pizza for me. Needless to say, it was a go ahead. What I really like was that they have a large warmer to place in all takeaway orders making sure the freshness and hotness was still as good as dining in. The nice lady personally brought the pizza to me and needless to say, well deserved tips for her. Brought the pizza and ate it by the river under the nice and very hot summer weather. Like the tomato and cheese ratio and surprise of all, really enjoy the dough. It was very chewy and savoury, and definitely one of the best or even the best pizza dough I ever had. This is the first time ever that I actually finished eating the entire pizza by myself , and including the dough (usually I will leave the dough and not eat it towards the last 2-3 pieces or entirely if the dough does not taste good). Highly recommend to check this place out, and enjoy it outdoor during the hotter months. And if you ask me Grimaldi's or Juliana's if you can only got for one, definitely Grimaldi's as service was better than Juliana's based on this experience.

Got the 16 inch margeritta pizza, was plenty for 2. Pizza is absolutely delicious !! Also servers are very helpful :) Would def go again. (Due to covid, we didn't dine in. We got it to go and ate it in a public picnic table - there's plenty nearby.)

Service is absolutely amazing! Normally I start with the food quality but this place was absolutely amazing on customer service! The place is very big inside with multiple levels of seating and the bar area is very nice! Plenty of menu options and service is very friendly, it’s very busy but they never try to rush anyone! I highly recommend this place! 😊

Excellent pizza. Quality of the dough was on point. A lot of variety for choice of toppings. Excellent presentation of the pizzas. Depending where you are seated, it may be a bit cramped. If you have difficulty with stairs, it may not be the best option, as seating may take you up to the third floor, and there are only stairs. Another downside is the pricing. A plain 18” pie is $26, and each topping is additional. The cost really does add up. I would definitely recommend this as a one time experience for anyone visiting the area

Proper wood-fired pizza. Known as one of New York's three evacuees. The taste is guaranteed to live up to its reputation. but! Be aware in advance that the wait will be long! The store consists of 1.2 floors, and there is an old oven on the first floor. In front of you, you can meet a pizza artisan making pizza with skill as if you were watching a live performance. I ordered Margherita pepperoni, which is the most basic dish, but you can also order half and half. It may feel a little salty to Koreans, but the crunchy and savory taste of dough baked in an oven will linger in your mouth for a long time. This is the perfect place to walk the Brooklyn Bridge and fill your hungry stomach. This is a place I want to go again.

Perfect place to stop after walking across the Brooklyn Bridge. Delicious pizza and we made it just in time to the start of the line that filled up super quick. The waitstaff were kind and service quick. The wood fired pizza hit the spot!

The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is inviting and simple. I will be honest: the pizza could be better. It was dry for my taste and really salty because of the chosen cheese to put on top (house choice). The knife doesn’t cut the food lol (I don’t like to eat using hands; personal preference). I was expecting a more juicy food, but sadly that was not the case. We ordered the 4 cheeses and the prosciutto with arugula. Both flavors dry, no sauce! I will not come back, but it’s worth the experience.

This place been sitting in my travel list for at least 5 years now, but I only got the chance to visit last week. A bit on the pricier side and sadly wasn't the best pizza we've ever had. The place in wonderful though. A good outdoor dining space as well as indoor.

“The pizza that made Brooklyn Bridge famous” - loved the atmosphere and vibes, everyone was friendly and very attentive. Order bruschetta trio and house salad for starters, it was fresh and delicious (would prefer with less salts, but still amazing). We then shared a traditional pizza with red onion and mushrooms!! Large portions, and perfect crust! Will be back again when we are in town next.

It is, arguably known as one of the best pizzas in new york, It's pretty good and it's definitely one of the oldest, If you love classic iconic brooklyn, You will enjoy your visit to Grimaldi's Prices are kind of on the friendly side, Considering the location, but they do add up, Check the activity hours and make sure to avoid turist rush hours, That turns into a big line just to walk inside for a pizza. Last time I went there or pizza was on the cold side and they wouldn't reheat it, But the quality of the ingredieyes call the service, Despising refusing to reheat or exchange the cold pizza, was nice and friendly. If you are in dambo, checking out the old brooklyn, you don't gonna miss this one. While in the neighborhood, you can also visit the juggling shop Flow juggle at 145 front street , Dumbo Brooklyn NY 11201

The staff who took care of the waiting line was very kind and nice. We got a table on the 3rd floor, which was fine. The employees on the level had such boring faces and didn't seem to be interested in customers. The food came out very slow and wasn't very impressive. Brooklyn Bridge pizza was better than Margerita. And the Margerita pizza at Juliana's and Joe's were better for me.

  • 4/5 Swapnil S. 9 months ago on Google
It's one of the most famous Brooklyn pizzeria. Right next to juliana's. Don't be surprised to see long queue outside the restaurant during peak hours and holiday times. They only accept cash and no credit card. There are many atm within the restaurant so debit card should do the work. The pizza is as expected - delicious. I liked their traditional but more than that their white sauce with garlic is pretty amazing. Pizza size is pretty good and one 16 inch can serve 2-3 people.

Absolute Empfehlung!!!

Honestly the pizza was okay - ingredients were fresh which is a huge plus. Unfortunately we waited more than 30 mins when the place was empty on a Tuesday at 2pm for a traditional pizza that was average by New York / if you love pizza standards. Drink prices were reasonable at least and range was not bad. Would not come back for the trouble compared to everywhere else.

  • 4/5 Joshua 6 months ago on Google
Fired at a blistering hot 850F coal oven, the pizzas here have a great chew and a nicely balanced tomato sauce. We ordered a traditional cheese. The baseline. The bread has a great texture; chewy, but not dense. Crisp and thin, but substantial. Great char on the bottom, but not overbearingly smokey. Nice and easy to get a great fold. The sauce has a nice balanced acidity, with plenty herbal bright notes. Goes great with their cheese blend in terms of cutting the fat. It's a pizza that exudes a high level of quality. It's nothing mind-blowing, just great pizza.

  • 4/5 David 2 years ago on Google
Yes Grimaldi's is some of the best pizza in New York, I think I like the sauce the best. Classic New York Pizza, everyone at this restaurant is very friendly and helpful, the restaurant is located almost below the Brooklyn Bridge, if you're staying in Manhattan, very easy to get to by Subway and then just a short little walk to the restaurant. Ate almost half of pie and then took the rest back to the hotel and finished it off..

Arguably the best pizza I’ve ever had. My wife and I ended here after walking across the Brooklyn Bridge one evening. It was kinda late and I usually don’t visit restaurants close to closing time but we were hungry so we gave it a shot. The service was great, the pizza was incredibly fresh and piping hot! We were stuffed and wished we could have taken some home with us. Next time we’re in Brooklyn, we’ll definitely try it again!

  • 4/5 Edouard D. 7 months ago on Google
Extremely flavorful l, quality brick oven, NYC style pizza. My only knock down would be the crust, which was a by dry and somewhat thick (still thin crust, but relatively thick as far NYC thin crusts are concerned). The service was great. In fact, my date forgot her purse and the staff ran all the way down to bring it back. There's a lot of NYC history in the place, as portrayed by all the wall arts and decorations. That being said, I found the atmosphere inside a bit lacking. Perhaps opt to eat outside of whether permits.

Amazing pizza and cannoli but slow service! We came here hungry on a Monday afternoon after a long day of touring NYC. We were seated on the second floor around 5:20pm, food came more than an hour after around 6:30pm with no updates from servers on why our food took so long. Since we had to catch a 7pm train, we ate in a rush and didn’t have time to savor the food. When I asked for the bill, the server came back with another table’s bill which added to the time crunch.

Great and well-known pizzeria in New York. We had lunch here and ordered a 16-inch pizza to be shared. Unfortunately, the first pizza was lukewarm, and we did not enjoy it too much. We ordered a second one, which was warmer, but still not hot, hot, directly fresh from the oven as at other pizzerias. I suspect they must be waiting too long at the counter or otherwise cools down on the way from the oven on the ground floor to the restaurant on the first floor. This requires fixing for us to fully enjoy their pizza s which are well made.

The wait was long over 40min, it was worth it!! Pizza did not disappoint so yummy! Eddie our waiter made our lunch meal even more enjoyable! I was also so impressed when I saw him making sure my wine glass was spotless before serving the wine! Never had to ask for more water, always a plus in my eyes. Considering how very very busy Eddie was with all tables full, we truly were made to feel we were his only guest!

  • 3/5 Raquel 2 years ago on Google
The place is nice. Service is good. But the pizza was expected to be better. Not much taste, nothing special. The only good thing I may say is that my glass of wine was good and for once in New York I paid a normal/decent price for it. Wine at New York restaurants is ridiculously expensive, as if it were a luxurious extravagant pleasure! Please! It's just a glass of wine!

Our first and best choice Pizza ever! Pesto pizza is delicious! Grimaldi’s crust and coal brick brings unique taste to Pizza lovers. Brooklyn Grimaldi’s is in our wishlist for so long, we were able to make it in summer 2023. Since this place is highly demanded, expect 20-30mins wait time. Luckily this restaurant is 3 stories building, they serve quick to make the next customer wait time less. If you are in Brooklyn area, this is a must try, don’t miss it 👌 Parking: Hard to find street parking, but there is parking garage 1 block away and a quick 2mins walk to restaurant. $25/parking

Delicious gluten-free pizza by the Brooklyn Bridge. Asked for additional toppings, including 'fresh basil' - the leaves were roasted. Was in a hurry, and the pizza was otherwise great - so gobbled it up!

The pizza, the service, the location and the atmosphere does not get any better for a New York pizzeria. Wow!! Absolutely a must if you come to the NYC area. Go out of your way to make it here. The best pizza we have ever had. It is not even an exaggeration. Real fresh ricotta cheese , delicious sauce and perfect crust. The thought of it makes us want to go back. Take our word for it and you will not be disappointed.

Pretty good pizza but way too overpriced for what it is. Tables are crammed together on the upstairs portion of the restaurant and we didn't get menus for a solid ten minutes. Despite this, the pizza is pretty good. The cheese and sauce is flavorful and the crust was on the thinner side and had a nice fluff and crunch to it. Toppings tasted high quality but adding them on can get pricey.
