I booked a double room for 2 adults and a 8 yo-child. For some reason, the system transferred to the "hotel" a booking for 2 persons. Even if we could have fit in the bed, the "receptionist" told us to pay a second room otherwise to leave. We refused to pay more because the problem didn't come from us. After a 50-minute discussion, that guy kicked us out: 2 women and a kid, at 2 am, in NYC. He refused to host us, even if the room was booked and paid. For your own good, never go to that place.

I recently stayed here, and given the reviews, my expectations were quite low. However, I can say with full confidence that this place is not at all as bad as it is made out to be. The room I stayed in was small and had no window, nor did it have a private bathroom, but I still really enjoyed my stay here. The location of this place in right in the center of Chinatown, Little Italy, etc. making a great place to be if you're visiting NYC (in my opinion as a foodie). I must also add that the price point is unbeatable...(which is something I appreciate as a college student). The staff was also very friendly and the hotel was kept clean. I absolutely wouldn't mind staying here again :)

Clean, small, relatively cheap, and friendly staff. All-around a good hotel. But DO NOT GET A WINDOWLESS ROOM. You WILL overheat. It’s hot, stuffy, and there’s no airflow in the cramped room. Pay the $17 more for a windowed room and enjoy yourself instead of sweating all night. Better for your health too. Beds are very hard, so bring your own cushions or blankets if you can’t handle sleeping on a hard surface. Bathrooms are pretty good for being shared. Staff was extraordinary and very helpful and informative. They hold onto the key if you need them to (there’s only one). This hotel is in Chinatown, and you walk out right onto the sidewalk. There’s capitalone and chase banks next door, and lots of restaurants nearby.

Is this your first time in Manhattan and you're on a very tight budget? 1st things 1st: measure your expectations. New York is one of the most expensive places in the world, but Manhattan particularly, is a place where you will NEVER find a deal when it comes to accommodation. If you're alone, I would recommend that you stay at a hostel. Your experience will be much better. But if you do not like sharing rooms, or if you're a couple, the small hotels in Chinatown do the trick. We have all been there. I stayed in one for the first time about 8 years ago. I was so anxious, because the reviews were so extremely bad. But in the end, I was so happy I stayed there. When you are in New York, every second is precious. There is a never ending amount of things to do, and you do not want to waste your time sitting in a room playing with your phone or watching TV. You can do that back home. I stayed at the US Pacific Hotel a couple of weeks ago. It was wonderful. Everything I expected. The big advantages are: It is quite easy to reach Bowery with the Subway from JFK airport. The price you'll pay is pretty much the cheapest for a 'single' room in NYC, and that includes Brooklyn and the other surrounding areas. The WiFi works pretty well. The bathrooms have hot water and the showers have good pressure. The surrounding area is full of exciting things to do, and many cheap shops all over China Town, as well as delicious Chinese food, and Italian food in Little Italy. Obviously you will feel a little bit claustrophobic, but there's another reason for you to get out there and enjoy the city that never sleeps!

We enjoyed our stay here. For 3 nights we paid £290 which is quite a lot but the room was very comfortable, toilets clean with shower gel and shampoo available to use, WiFi was working really well and location is great 2 min walk from subway in the middle of little Italy and Chinatown

Price is definitely one of the cheapest in New York but it depends on what is your budget. There is only shampoo and body wash provided and the room is tiny with bed, even smaller if you opt for rooms with shared bathroom. Expect thin wall, you can heard people talking, walking and even in few instances ‘banging’.

Location wise, this is a good budget hotel within walking distance to the Brooklyn Bridge and the Battery Park ferry. The room really only has a bed and a table. Very cramped space. For muslim, there is just enough space to pray insisde the room. There are 3 shared bathrooms, I did not have to wait to use any of them so quite convenient. They were clean and have hot and cold water. Staff were nice and tolerable, gave us hot water to cook our instant noodles and let us leave our bag until 7pm after checkout. There is minimum common heating throughout the hotel so room is not too cold but definitely not warm inside the room.

I have stayed in about five or six hostels in Chinatown. This is by far the nicest. I had a double room which was much larger than any other place I’ve stayed. The room had a real ceiling rather than a drop ceiling or no ceiling at all. So it was much quieter. The halls are clean and well kept. Bathrooms were cleaned frequently and had much nicer facilities. The staff is pleasant and accommodating. It does cost a little more than some other places, but it’s well worth it. I will be staying here again.

This is one of the cheapest hotels in Manhattan, so we came into it with low expectations and just wanted a clean place to spend the night. It was absolutely charming, with very kind reception staff, possibly the best hotel wifi I've ever used, and a clean room. The beds are a little bit harder than I'm used to, but still comfortable after a long day in the city. Cannot beat the value of this spot, I would absolutely stay here again!

Clean, safe, and air conditioned! Could not ask for anything more for this price in Manhattan in the summer. The location was excellent with amazing restaurants all around, the staff was really nice, and the three shared bathrooms on the floor meant that there was rarely any wait (if that is something you're nervous about). Obviously not a five-star hotel, but as other reviews have said, manage your expectations and you'll be fine. It gets the job done! In fact, we were relieved to see what the hotel was REALLY like after reading some of these negative reviews. They are definitely not representative of what it's like to stay here. We had a really good experience. And the somewhat small, windowless room was no problem-- we came to the city to see it, not to be locked up in a hotel room all day :) Would definitely stay here again.

Good location & affordable ! We stayed for one night and it was totally fine. We didn’t expected much of a 1* Hotel but it turned out to be good. - one big “plus” is, that it is extremely quiet ! Which was awesome. - We had a room without a window. It wasn’t great but we booked it that way so we expected it. - the “sharing bathroom” are actually multiple bathrooms, with one toilet and one shower each ! That means you always have a bathroom for your self. - there is a receptionist which is great. - the hotel is located in Chinatown, close to little Italy.

It is a cheap accommodation – so don’t have any high expectations The good thing about this accommodation - the price is cheap for the accommodation on Manhattan in NYC. Reception clerk is nice and helpful. On the last day of your stay they allow you to leave your luggage locked in a room next to the reception until 5pm. There are many options to have a good and cheap coffee or meal in the close distance of this hotel. In your room you can find two packets of tissues, dental brushes, and two towels. Room and beds are clean. The bad thing about this accommodation - the rooms without windows are really very small and air-condition is on all the time (for some people it is great but for some not). Furniture inside the room is not really in a good shape. Restrooms are also not in a very good shape either - but still usable and fairly clean. They ask you to throw the used toilet paper into the waste bin and not the toilet itself - which can be quite disgusting to see and smell it when you come to the shared restroom. Beds are quite noisy. There are many steep steps you have to go through on the way to your room. Walls between rooms are so thin that you can hear almost everything that is going on in the rooms and hallway around you. Stay in this hotel only if you are on a very low budget and you really need to save the money – if you plan your trip at least half a year in advance you can find much better options for just a little bit more money.

Not sure what the previous review is about, but I had a lovely stay here. The staff was perfectly accommodating to my disabilities as I cannot walk. They even offered me 80 dollars out of the kindness of their hearts! I refused the money as they were already treating me very well. Would recommend to all my friends! 10/10 stay!

I would absolutely stay here again! My daughter and I stayed here 5 nights and we were very pleased. We stayed in a room with shared bathrooms across the hall, there are 3 on each floor. We each only had to wait 1 time and could have gone to another floor restroom if it had been urgent. But the wait wasn't long. Every day the place smelled a little like bleach which, which we loved, because it smelled clean unlike so many other areas of new york we smelled..lol There was a lady who appeared to live on property on our floor who kept the shared bathrooms clean. The staff was friendly and the place was clean. Best prices available that we could find. I would recommend it to friends and family. If we ever get to go back we will stay there again!!! Also we were able to leave our luggage (free) on our last day after checkout (12pm) until 5pm while we ran around before our flight.

Great value for the price. Well located to the subway, room was as expected and shared bathroom was functional. Check in desk was helpful and efficient. No issues at all. Not glamorous, but a great option as a base for exploring :)

The location is pretty good and probably the only redeeming characteristic. For the price the accommodations aren't exactly stellar, and furthermore their curfew hours are annoying. I arrived at the hotel, famished, at 11:45pm to check in, and it was only then that the front desk person told me there wasn't anyone to let people in between 12:30-8AM, and so if you left then you'd be unable to come back.

I don't know what you guys (people who left bad reviews) want. It's the cheapest thing in Manhattan. Yes the rooms are SMALL. The mattress literally touched both sides of the wall. And there was no window. Walls are thin. But like..... For the price? I mean it was clean and safe. I'm happy with that. 谢谢你们

Shared bathroom and no window was the only bad thing however the bathroom was surprisingly clean and the bed was cozy it fit my budget as well as my itinerary last year I paid like 89 dollars I was very happy I only came out for one night but turned into a couple so I was just happy for a cheap available room that was happy to take cash!

As others have said. It is exactly what it's meant to be. Small affordable room. Very clean and well kept. If I stay here again, I'll spend the extra money for a room with a window. You have no control over the temperature in your room. I came in the fall. It was 40°outside over night, but the room was so hot it was hard to fall asleep. I used to live in NYC and this is closer to the Subway than any apartment I've ever had. (HUGE perk)

Comfortable bed perfect after having spent a very long day sightseeing. A good shower (shared bathroom) and great price for the location. Very friendly and helpful female receptionist. Very well connected to public transport & JFK (J line direct to airport) 15 min walk to Brooklyn Bridge and 1 block from great rooftop bar (The Crown). Our second time staying here and we hope to repeat.

If I could give this place a 0 I would. PLEASE DONT STAY HERE. THEY DONT HAVE QASH CLOTHs nor do they have tv or air and no windows. One of the worst places I've ever been to. Use your money elsewhere. This is a real review

I came to NY with my friend for 4 days and we wanted something afordable and nice and clean, but this is not a place for that. This “hotel” is waste of time and money! I am very disapointed. Everything was dirty, bedding was full of somebody else’s hair, sheets stained and ripped. I requested for new clean sheets and got dirty one as well. We wanted to change room, but the other one was cleaned before we come in, and it was dirty also. I wouldn’t recommend it neither to an enemy.

I am quite pleased with my expectations being exceeded. Full scope; this establishment is ideal for my character, but I can see how some may find the experience contradicting to my aforementioned affinity. Staff was efficient, attentive and I immediately felt comfortable because the monitoring of the common area was apparent. Not for a honeymoon, but absolutely for a seasoned traveler that is comfortable in a hostel vibe. I chose a room with a private bath and for the borough of Manhattan its quite functional. I will likely stay again!

  • 3/5 Mike R. 1 year ago on Google
It's alright but a little expensive for what they offer, and the fact that the staff knocked on my door and told me I had to turn off the music I was listening to not turn down, music played from a cell phone and not on high volume. The fact that you can only have 1 guest in your room not stay with you, like if you get a room leave and try to come back with 2 friends only 1 can come in with you

  • 1/5 Jesse B. 5 years ago on Google
Absolutely horrible. The rooms are like asylum rooms. Very tiny, no window. They dont give you a mattress to sleep on it’s literally a box spring, but they call it a double bed. They also cancelled our reservation 1hr before check in saying the card was declined. Shouldn’t they have said that when we booked it weeks ago? The woman at the counter then tried to charge us 12$ more to rebook the room. We wouldn’t allow that though and haggled her back down to normal price. Honestly this is not a hotel to book if you’re looking to get some sleep. The only thing is may be good for is a hookup.

Apart from its excellent location there is not much to brag about. Staff were cold, room was mini minor small for its price. No fridge, coffee maker etc. They don't service the room unless told to do so. Shower cubicle was too small for a proper shower

Needs better housekeeping - cup had mold and there’s dust on the desk. No hand soap on sink, gotta use the body wash located in shower. TV had no service.

  • 1/5 andy d. 1 year ago on Google
Absolutely terrible, my husband and I booked it at 3am, and they waited till 12pm to tell us that check in was at 2pm. Only having 5 hrs of sleep, the rooms were small, no personal bathrooms, and the TV was ripped out of the wall. Truly a shame to waste money here and they don't give you a refund at all.

This place is legit, I came to nyc for one night to celebrate Halloween weekend. And I got a 2 bed with a bathroom for $200, and they didn’t even charge me for a deposit. Listen it’s cheap, clean, has a strong WiFi, close to Little Italy, and the J Train. The beds are uncomfortable so I’d suggest bringing one of those cheap yellow bed pads, and the bathroom is poorly lit so bring a vanity light if you need too. The staff is nice, and they work hard to keep this place cleaned. I’m not a clean freak but I did worry about bed bugs and I spent some checking under the mattresses and sheets to see if I could see any. For the price you can’t beat it, I love it and will be back

Simple. Cheap. One knows why staying here. Shared bathrooms but great price for the location, and private rooms. Indeed no window (!) in the rooms, yet for someone who just wants a room to sleep, and cope with NYC sky-rocketing budget, it does the trick.

  • 4/5 Matej B. 1 year ago on Google
Good location, staff always available. Small and clean room. More bathrooms generally would be nice but we managed. Smelling like an old building but thats to be expected.

  • 5/5 Ashton C. 1 year ago on Google
Easy access to where you need to be. Yes the place is out dated but it's clean. The shared bathrooms were consistently being cleaned during our stay as well as the halls. Very friendly staff. Idk why there are bad reviews here because if you expect more for this price, stay away from New York. You'll have clean sheets, a place to sleep, showers, and a locking door. If you want a cheap get away, consider booking here. You're not going to find a cheaper place this clean and safe.

  • 3/5 Katlyn K. 1 year ago on Google
Realistically this place is good for us location and price, not so much anything else. The rooms are extremely small, no windows, and there's no personal toilet. Tying to use the restroom was almost always a hassle, as you must share with the rest of the guests. Generally speaking, it's located in a good spot and was the most affordable option.

  • 5/5 Andrew C. 1 year ago on Google
Not sure about all the other negative reviews but for the price, this place got the job done. The rooms are incredibly small (the bed takes up 60-70% of the room) but it was generally clean. Shared bathrooms were also pretty clean. There are no elevators, only stairs, so prepare to get your steps in. They provide two bath towels, but you’ll have to bring your own toiletries including hand soap. The front desk was very friendly and there is a bag holding area if needed. My stay was also pretty quiet, yes the walls are thin, but the people were pretty respectful on noise. All in all, for the price, this is a great place to stay if you’re just sleeping. Pare your expectations and you’ll be fine.

When I came inside the hotel in the afternoon. The reception guy was stinking! He looks like a homeless man. He is a black man with a blue shirt and black pants. Then when I first check in, he told me to check in at 3 PM because he had to leave. Then after he went, a lady came to the reception and got me my room. I would not go to this place ever again!

  • 1/5 Ioana M. 2 years ago on Google
The hotel does NOT look like the pictures. The sheets were okay, but had weird spots on them, the bathroom had some jugs of shower gel and shampoo which was okay. However, an addition in the bathroom is the presence of cockroaches!!! Also, please be aware that there are LITERALLY no accessible ramps or elevators and the flights of stairs are quite long. The benches in any diner are way more comfortable than our bed was, but thankfully we were too tired to not be able to sleep. There were two light sources in the windowless room, but only one was working. The receptionist was okay, they let us spend five more minutes to figure out how to get our big luggage (normal airplane check-in size) out of the room, but not without a comment on how the checkout time was at 12. If you do not have a choice, you can go there, but please NOT for more than one night. We felt like we were ripped off in the worst way possible.

  • 2/5 Ajib P. 1 year ago on Google
Only plus point is the price. The hotel room smells and does not have ventilators or windows. There were three bathrooms in a floor, one could not be locked from inside the other one did not have toilet paper. I did not noticed any heating or cooling system. All night there were people in adjacent room and corridor making noise, I could get only 3-4 hours of sleep after exhausting day. The only reason I booked the hotel was to save some bucks, but it wasn't worth it.

  • 1/5 Stewart A. 2 years ago on Google
They should be shamed to be called a Hotel. They arent even motel. Maybe below homeless shelter..

  • 1/5 Milan R. 7 months ago on Google • 1 review
I booked a room in this hotel on booking, in the pictures it looked good but when I arrived I felt scammed. The room was too small and dirty, even when the housekeepers were done, the beds weren't clean and I was sleeping in them fully clothed. The next morning I left the hotel, with no refund but I just couldn't take it anymore. So my advice is to not stay at this place.
