This hotel is overpriced for the money. Nearly $500 a night for a room with double beds…. DOUBLE BEDS, for grown ups! Two adults could barely sleep without one falling out of bed! It was like being in a kid’s room! The hotel was “okay”…. Nothing outstanding. The service was not remarkable. Finding someone to help in the lobby was impossible and the line check in took forever. No room service and no included breakfast. The hotel brochure stated it was included but the fine print said that you had to be premium, platinum, royalty members to be eligible. I’ve stayed next door at Club Quarters and had a better stay.

Everything was PERFECT. This is incredibly rare, but I have no complaints. This hotel really gets the guest experience and how to take care of their elites. I was upgraded to the best room type available (junior suite) with amazing views of the Freedom Tower. I was asked if I wanted a late checkout without having to inquire, I was told of all of the amenities in great detail too. Every staff member I encountered was very pleasant and I felt like they went above and beyond to make sure my stay was perfect. I cannot say enough good things. My wife and I did a staycation here and will not hesitate to do another again. HIGHLY recommend this hotel.

I really enjoyed our one night stay in this hotel. Customer service was great from start to finish. The room was a decent size for NY. Although I must admit the beds are a little bit small for two adults to share. We all enjoyed the Hudson River view. There is a destination fee of $25 but they do give you a good/drink allowance for the restaurant downstairs, bike rental and a bus tour if you want to take advantage of that. There is a $65 valet parking fee but if you stay on a Saturday night all parking on the street is free but you have to walk a little.

Pretty terrible front desk service. Upon arrival, agent never looked up, simply said "ID and Credit Card please" and pointed to the elevator while never looking away from her computer. I have requested my receipt multiple times from the hotel but they will not send it and it is not loading in the Marriott app. The room was nice and very clean, however, walls are very thin. I did not hear street noise on 19th floor. Make sure to use the dining credit in the destination fee or its money down the drain. Location is great, but there are other hotels in Downtown that are just as nice with just as good of a location. I only stayed one night and moved to the Conrad for three nights. Highly recommend the Conrad!

Had a quick business trip to NYC over the weekend and stayed at this hotel. The staff is very nice and friendly, except for one staff member at the bell desk whom I felt uncomfortable with. The room is clean and spacious, and the location is convenient. I would stay at this hotel again if I go back to NYC.

I would say this is the best hotel within Marriott universe in the area at this price level. For some reason, we stayed there for many days and had the opportunity to know every aspect of this hotel. Though it was built a while ago, it is much better than the newer ones nearby. The room is clean and the service is very reasonable. Will definitely miss the nice staffs. One thing that I believe can be improved is the doorman. One day we two both carry heavy items on hand and the doorman just stood there without any willing to open the door for us. I understand that maybe it is not their responsibility, but I guess for that particular situation even a random stranger would at least hold the door for you, but they just stood there.

Beautiful location, facilities and excellent staff. Of all the Marriott properties in NYC, this has been my favorite. Getting an Uber to the front door is a little challenging with directional access. Will definitely be back to stay here again.

Went to a concert in queens and needed a place to stay. This was my first time ever staying at a hotel in the city. Room and bathroom were pretty nice. Extra amenities were in the room upon my arrival per my request. Elevators were very fast…so fast I felt a little sick once we got down to the lobby level from our high floor…just a warning if you get motion sickness easily. Maybe request a lower floor. Only thing that bothered me during my stay was when a front desk agent randomly asked if I was 21. The room was in my name and I paid for it…my id was checked upon checking in so that kind of irritated me slightly that that was even a question at 2am when i was charging a candy to MY room. And they also never had me fill any paperwork out when valeting my car nor confirmed the make and model year or color of my car when requesting it back to leave once I checked out. They just took my keys and that was it. I could see a mistake easily happening with the way the valet is run at this property. Other than that it was a good quiet stay.

This review is a little difficult. The location was great and they had nice employees but the whole stay had so many issues. First open booking in the pic and It showed a King with a sofa bed. When I’m got there there was no Sofa bed and they said it Would cost more. They also said they didn’t have a roll away bed either. I ended up just staying in the room because it was a very big king size so it worked. They also have an additional fee It was like $25 a day but it did give you credit towards their in-house restaurant and dry cleaners etc. If you use their services they just deduct at midnight. We had left for dinner and when we came back the elevators were not working. A guy then came and told us we have to take the back elevator which he had to escort us. It was what I believe the staff uses. It took us up to the back room where the cleaning stuff was and all the extra bedding. As we were walking through I saw roll away beds only a couple and was wondering why they lied to me. The next day we went sight seeing when we came back that night the elevators were down and tons of people in the hall. They wouldn’t let anyone go to the rooms and when we asked why the lady at the front desk said she’d let us know soon. We waited 20 min before the fire man showed up and then we found out it was a false fire alarm. When the elevator was available we finally got to our rooms. We also ordered from the restaurant and said we’d pick up and asked when it would be ready they said 30 min. All of a sudden we get a knock at our door and it’s someone from the restaurant asking if we were going to get our food it’s ready. Why didn’t they just bring it with them ? Also we ordered loaded nachos and they were not worth buying save your money. Other then that the location is great for the world trade area. Close to 9/11, subways, ferry’s etc. I think if all of that didn’t happen and the staff just seemed a little more happy about working there then 5 stars for sure.

Stayed here for 4 days while working at a conference being held at the hotel. The Christmas tree in the lobby was beautiful and helped set the holiday feelings of New York. The staff were are very friendly and helpful. The rooms were a good size. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of pillows. The food that was catered by the hotel for the conference lunches was fantastic. If day the lunches were better than the retardants we went to in the evening.

Great room vs price. Probably the best I had stayed in NY. Around 320 sq feet space with 2 full beds, nice desk to work, mini fridge, large bath, closet, super clean hotel/room, amazing and friendly staff. Great views. If you are looking for something away from the super touristy places this is it. Very calm at night, close to good restaurants, stores and subway stations a few blocks aways. Good restaurant on the first floor, but closes a bit early (9PM)

New favorite place to stay in NYC! Parking garage is directly across the street. World Trade Center memorial and museum is two blocks up and Battery Park with the Liberty cruise is a 10 minute walk the other direction. Close to the subway, our room had a perfect view of the Statue of Liberty, and I was reasonably priced. Hotel staff was polite, lobby restaurant was great and they had a good drink menu. Rooms were nice and clean, beds were comfortable.

Awesome! So excited to come back! Got this hotel for a terrific price at ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ I like this resort and I'm so happy I stayed at my favorite place for less than what I normally spend. As part of our tour, my friend and I stayed at this hotel and were really impressed. The room was enormous, with a huge, spacious bed in the middle. There is a bathtub in the shower. This is an outstanding dinner. It is strongly advised!

My room had a great view! Room was pretty clean. I got a late checkout because of my Gold Marriott status, but they came in around 10 am (not even regular checkout time, and with do not disturb sign). The other down side, they gave us a card with daily 25$ credit and we used it every day at the restaurant but they deducted those from around account and I had to call them and go downstairs to ask them to fix it, and they said they will fix it but I’m still waiting for the money being deposited to my account.

Booked my reservation through my employers online booking agency. There was no reference to the bogus “destination charge” while booking. Checked-in and was told about the $75 fee for the first time. I kindly explained that I will not be using any of the services like the bike they provide for use in downtown Manhattan. Instead of accommodating me, the front desk was extremely rude and essentially told me I was dumb. I have status with Marriott and frequently pay the destination fee, especially when I’m traveling for personal reasons and when I know in advance there is a fee associated with the stay. This place really rubbed me the wrong way. Awful staff.

The epitome of service. All staff were extremely helpful. Location of hotel is excellent, only place I would stay for business in New York. Room was great with lovely view. Tim explained the local area including all shops, restaurants etc. Ama at guest services & Troy at concierge went ABOVE & BEYOND to ensure I was ready for my working week. Definitely deserve all credit for excelling well beyond normal service standards. Only improvement would be an in-house kitchen with 24hr room service for people who work round the clock & get hungry!

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful when I came to visit for a week with my 3-year-old. The bellman, housekeeping, and front desk always wanted to know if there was anything they can do to make your stay any better, and always with a smile on their face. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for an extremely nice place to stay in lower manhattan, especially those with families. Great location, walking distance to everything, cabs always around the corner, and amazing staff!

I loved this hotel. Rooms were clean, quiet and comfortable. Staff was attentive and always available. The location is ideal if you're looking to stay in the downtime area. Not too much traffic so it's a peaceful night. Only a few blocks away from the waterfront, World Trade Center Memorial and multiple cool bars/restaurants. Plus there's a Starbucks in the lobby.

  • 5/5 Nicholas S. 4 months ago on Google
Rooms are quiet, unlike other places I’ve stayed in NYC. Staff was very friendly. Starbucks downstairs is highly convenient, although it’s very busy, recommend mobile order. Had a great experience at the hotel and the red line is short walking distance

Make sure to use HoteIDully.ᴄᴏm when booking your stay. This site will compare countless hotel sites and normally will have prices a lot cheaper compared to others! You're welcome :)! This place is the best rated in this area. I have been staying here for a very long time. If you choose this place you will love it I'm sure! Enjoyed the food and the stay. The bar and lounge area was boring but the drinks were great! Still had an amazing experience in a very cozy and comfortable room room! This was on my second trip to New York. Although the area and lounge is boring the room and the comfort and the food, I go again!

Well located in the heart of NYC - nice view on the Hudson. Staff is very nice, rooms are classical. For a business traveler, a few things I was missing: 1) internet connection in my room was very unstable, 2) limited/no in-room dining.

  • 4/5 Roman G. 5 months ago on Google
This was the highest stage I have ever stayed at, and it meant the view was absolutely stunning. I even saw the Statue of Liberty. I was particularly pleased with the location, especially because it's situated in the financial district, one of the safest areas of NY. However, the breakfast was the worst I've encountered in all my hotel experiences. It consisted of just four items: tea or coffee, pork, chicken, and potatoes. Overall, I enjoyed my stay, but I often left hungry.

Great location. The property is well-managed with rooms, facilities, and amenities in good condition. Much better than the other Marriott flagged hotels in FiDi in terms of upkeep and quality. However, there was a snag: the hotel's dry cleaning service ripped one of my dress shirts. Despite having to recount the incident 5 times with different stakeholders, I never received any resolution.

My stay at the New York Marriott downtown was great! The hotel is in a very convenient location near multiple train and bus stations so it is easy to get to wherever you need and it is especially convenient to the 9/11 Memorial and museum. The building is well insulated and quiet at night which resulted in great rest. Staff was friendly and on point and rooms were clean and welcoming. Great job!

It was a great stay at Marriott Downtown. All the staff and the cleaning lady was very helpful and friendly. Especially Nikki at the reception was exceptional. The room is very spacious considering usual New York sizing and its very clean too. The resort fee is very reasonable and actually good value. Very close to world trade centre and walking distance to Brooklyn Bridge. We would happily come back to Marriott Downtown.

This hotel has amazing rooms and views that are the best I’ve seen in lower Manhattan, with a reasonable price for what you get. The rooms are put together beautifully and the bathroom was great to use! The only issue I had was with the service at the front desk. There was a problem with car payment that they messed up on which made us have a set back. Other than that, everything was amazing and the front desk people were still kind and handled the situation well. I would definitely go here again!

Recently stayed at this hotel and, while I usually have next to no complaints, I will never use Marriott again. My good friend, who was there at the same time, had a horrendous (quite serious) experience, and they have just blown him off. All levels of management have dropped the ball and treated him like trash. Customer service is the lifeblood of any organization, and this Marriott location has zero concern for the well-being of its customers. It's a sad state of affairs at this location.

Clean and modern rooms. The bed was firm but comfortable. Service was great and the view was wonderful if your room is facing west. Easy walk to the World Trade Center and shopping. Morton Steak House is right across the street.

Nice rooms and great staff! We was overcharged $400, but had it cleared up quickly. Only gave it four stars because I think the pillow gave me a sty. Would recommend bringing pillow cases

A great hotel for NYC. My stay was pleas t and everything in my room was clean and well kept. There seemed to be a shortage of towels as each day I had to get towels that were not put in the room. The staff was very friendly and the rest of the hotel was very neat and clean. The hotel is located very close many points of interest. I will look forward to staying here again .

This hotel will wow you before you leave, as long as you stay away from the restaurant (more to come on that). Let's start off with saying after traveling what an amazing place to arrive to. The check in was a breeze. You do pay a $25 destination fee each day but don't worry because you will get your money's worth. You can spend $25 every day on food and beverages, get access to the Big Bus tour downtown loop (2 tickets equal to $49 pp), $15 city bike credit, and much more. The room service was the best I've ever seen. We had 3 different housekeepers while we stayed and each one was amazing. It's very evident the management has a well trained staff with guest satisfaction as the number one focus, which was an amazing change of pace. If you get the pleasure of having an interaction with Saad, you will walk away feeling valued. Now the one item I feel Marriott downtown extremely failed at was the 3rd party restaurant they are letting occupy their beautiful building. It was a complete failure to the point where after waiting for the manger of the restaurant to talk to me for 20 plus minutes, I had to walk to the front desk of the hotel to get assistance. They had zero hosts and made people wait at least bare minimum 10 minutes to even interact with someone. It was sad everyday you get in the elevator and everyone talked about their bad experience, makes you wonder when the last surprise audit for the restaurant was. Every guest I interacted with used the $25 at the drink and snack station instead of the restaurant. I was amazed you could use your destination fee at a restaurant but after 3 failed attempts at the restaurant and being ignored by their management, I couldn't bare giving my vacation time or business to them when they have zero customers service. Overall, amazing hotel but avoid using the on property restaurant.

Incredible! Kicking myself for never choosing to stay here previously when traveling to the financial district. Service is top notch. From the valet to the concierge to the front desk- could not be more accommodating. Rooms are updated and beautiful. Location gives you great access to so much. Will definitely be back!

Kind of a mixed review of our stay here. Location was perfect for our purposes. If you are wanting to be near the financial district or the World trade center or 911 museum, this hotel is perfect for location. The rooms are spacious clean and comfortable. One very weird thing in our room was that the toilet paper in the bathroom was just placed on the sink counter. No holder. Not that a guest had taken or broken the holder, just missing. Also, the restaurant in the hotel for breakfast was very poorly staffed and it seemed to be the cause of poor service. The breakfast buffet was not well supplied which caused many there to be unhappy. Since we were only there one night, it reflected poorly on the reputation of Marriott. At the prices of a luxury hotel in NYC, the experience was less than expected.

Very nice hotel! Very easy access from the tunnel. Check in was a breeze and they have a line for elite members as well. Also the bar was very low-key and tranquil the bartenders were also nice and there was evening entertainment. Bellhops were kind and courteous. The rooms are smaller as typical in a skyrise. Our honest only complaint was that the rooms were left somewhat dirty our garbage can was an empty from the last guest and they were considerable amount of dust all over. But the Linens were clean and the bed was fresh all of the amenities within the room are new. And the bathroom was clean

Super rude and unhelpful staff, not accommodating for groups of friends / families. This is my first time booking a Marriott over a Hilton or Hyatt, my reservation is 3 weeks away and I’m already disappointed. Definitely will not be booking a Marriott for work or pleasure travel unless the in person experience far surpasses the interaction I’ve had on the phone. Really wish I called and heard how rude they were before booking

Room 2909 had a great view over the Hudson River, Ellis Island and New Jersey. The room was clean when we arrived and we received room service every day during our stay. They charge 25 bucks/day for city tax but provide you with complimentary vouchers as a compensation. You can for example get a 25 dollar discount at Bill's bar on their ground floor - but they are pretty overpriced too. The hotel is close to touristic sights: the 911 memorial, the Battery Park (where you can take the ferry to the islands), the One World Trade Center etc. Overall it was a good experience.

Stayed for one night recently for business and they cheerfully allowed me to check in early. One of the nicest check in experiences I have had recently with the smiling gentleman at the front desk. The bed was magnificent and the bathroom well appointed. The room was on the darker side and smallish but this is Manhattan. I was relying on the ATM in the lobby to provide me some cash to tip appropriately but it was out of order. I apologized profusely to the Valet for the small tip and he was smiling and gracious. He said that the ATM is down frequently and it hurts them. Some of the nicest people I have encountered on my travels.

I was excited to spend two nights here in October 2021. As a Bonvoy Platinum member, my suite upgrade certificates were accepted and I was booked in a corner junior suite on the 31st floor - one of the nicest rooms on the property. This hotel is such a horrible disappointment. When stepping out of the elevator on the 31st floor, the hallway is extremely dark and dank, reminiscent of a submarine. It was honestly creepy! I had a large NW facing corner room with fabulous views of the Hudson River and One World Trade. Other than the fine view, the room was quite ugly. The windows do not open and the HVAC system is extremely loud. You can hear lots of noise from the hallway and the bathroom is not soundproof either. The bathroom must have been renovated recently and offered an excellent shower. This is the only reason for the second star. Overall, this property is depressing and dated. There is no outside space or rooftop terrace to enjoy like so many other nyc hotels seem to offer now. The concierge lounge is closed on the weekends. No joy or light is found at this hotel. The staff were nice enough but don’t come across as joyful and happy with their work. There is a Starbucks in the lobby that opens at 6:30 am. I cannot recommend this hotel and I will never return to this property. The hotel across the street (to the north) is far superior and typically offers slightly lower room rates.

Really impressed with this facility. Very clean, well layed out and accessible. I also consider it very central to many parts amd activities of the city. The room(s) are slightly - but not by much - tighter than one anticipates -- it's NYC and real estate is valuable. Beds are so comfortable. Another balanced mattress of stiffness. Top was soft that your body can mold to it and then the next layer would be more stiff. Pillows I will say were a bit too soft and fluffy for my liking - but here's the the - it's all good and I was able to fluff the pilllow how I wanted it. Linens, oh the linens. Soft, clean, crisp, fresh and plenty long to tuck my feet and arms. Bathroom was decently sized that 3 people could easily be in there without hitting elbow. Bathroom linens are what have this a 5 star. They are thick, heavy duty and scratchy. I like scratchy bath linens over soft and fluffy ones because I feel like I get cleaner and dryer. Shower water pressure is sufficient....but the hot water takes a long time to get heated up (if you're into hot showers). T.V. is nice, clear clean picture. Plenty of channels to choose from. Last but not least - Staff is incredible. Very kind. Helpful. Patient. Highly recommend this for travelers.

Very nice rooms. The elevator can be tricky to operate because you need to scan your room card before picking a floor. The elite rewards breakfast is very nice in the 38th floor.

I stayed in the Marriot hotel Downtown on a vacation just a short distance away from my home in Stamford. The room was a good size, and was kept very clean. My room was on one of the top floors, and I the view included The statue of liberty and Ellis island. Overall great stay.
