I have stayed at this hotel several times. One thing I always liked about it was they had little coffee stations on every floor where you could retrieve your own coffee in the morning. It was so nice and easy, and free coffee. They have removed that amenity, and now you can order room service. But it doesn't start until 8am. How can a nice hotel not offer coffee before 8am? Additionally, they have a program where you have to show your vaccination card to get a gym pass. Fair enough. But you have to come to the front desk to get a new gym pass every single day. So we have to stand in line behind multiple people checking in to get the gym pass every single day. It's very difficult (and infuriating) to source a cup of coffee in the morning. And the gym is a total hassle. Will not stay here again. Do not recommend.

The hotel itself is nice, if not a tad pretentious. I liked the decor and amenities, but would hope for a lot more in a gym/fitness center. Location is good! Bar is excellent. Easy celebrity sightings if you’re into that! Service was good until we had an issue with the valet. They badly dented and scraped the clear coat off my drivers side door. The hotel responded quickly at first, but then took perhaps a month to communicate with their contract valet, City Parking. Ultimately they said I couldn’t prove the dent/damage was caused by the valet, so they refused repairs. I didn’t expect to need to take photos of my car before dropping it at the valet of a 4-star hotel. Think again! Document the state of your vehicle with photos! To the hotel’s credit, they offered me compensatory nights at the hotel, which I refused. I just wanted my door fixed! Which would be cheaper than 3 nights at the hotel… odd experience all around.

It’s tired, the rooms are noisy , very noisy , i could hear the entire life story of the guest next to me through the adjoining door , like seriously , come on , this is not acceptable in a premium $$ hotel , the black out blind didn’t work ( and who wants to move room at 11pm) , the gym was minging/filthy , and the lifts take forever . It could be so much more. Finally i asked the receptionist where i could eat , he said , oh try the lounge it’s a lovey ambiance , when i went there , a guy with the worst attitude ever , and i mean stinking , said live music is over in 30 minutes and you have to buy a table , whatever that means , and then stood in the way of me … and this is a 500$ a night hotel ! Positives - the doorman are nice , but directed me to a starbucks that has been closed for 2 years , the diner food is nice , and the bathrooms are lovely .

Grand lobby, and amazing staff! In the age of covid it's nice to know hotels like the Soho Grand haven't gotten rid of their signature amenities like the vast majority of other supposed luxury hotels in Manhattan :) Sekou, Dawaun, and Marcus at the front desk went above and beyond to make my stay a perfect one! Photos are the Grand Corner King

If I could give this site 100 stars I would. I visited in December, around New Year's, and I can say that the treatment was always cordial, they always tried to help me and make me feel good. Here I had one of the best breakfasts of my life at a spacious table where my girlfriend was working online while we enjoyed breakfast. They have a dog park and it is a super dog friendly place. They offered me a bed for our dog. This place really made my trip to NY unforgettable.

Outstanding service at a super pet-friendly hotel. Everyone working here was super kind and welcoming. We initially had a room next to elevators (which did not agree with my dog as he barked every time the elevator door opened), and after speaking with the front desk they immediately moved us to a tucked away room. Speaking of which, the rooms are spacious and clean. The bed is fantastic, and they offer both firm and softer pillows (important!). The best part is if you bring a dog they have a personal dog park around the corner. Can’t wait to stay here again.

Naomi, the front desk supervisor, listened to every single special request I made for my girlfriend’s 30th birthday and NAILED it. Awesome room with a great city view. The hotel’s location is top-notch. Fantastic restaurants, coffee shops and shopping right outside. Highly recommend this place!

Everything is always wonderful at the Soho Grand! I ended up staying 4 nights but wish I could stay a month! Truly great staff from the doormen to the people in the restaurant to the front desk to housekeeping...everyone is so kind and helpful. I'm also in love with their beds and pillows. So grateful to have such a wonderful hotel right around the corner from my daughter. I will be back soon!!

The Grand is a very interesting hotel. The rooms are small but very comfortable. Nicely furnished, great shower, and loved the electric wall heater which kept it warm and cozy in the bathroom. Nice bathrobes we supplied. The hotel has an old but modernized feel. One thing that was odd at first, but I grew to enjoy were the rather dark hallways. I don't think I ever heard anyone talking in the hallway, and it might be because of the dim light. All in all, it is very unique but great place to stay.

Beautiful hotel, perfectly located within Soho, and the staff went above and beyond for us. Would stay again and would 100% recommend. Charles (front desk) and Daniel (doorman) were exceptionally great and always offered advice and assistance.

A great hotel, in a central location, with variable service (I visited the front desk three times, each time the staff member acted as if I'd interrupted them, and try were doing me a favor). The rooms are good sized for new york, and quite. The bathroom is very well appointed, with two shower head choices. The have a massive TV in the room. The fridge has space for your own drinks, and the nespresso type machine is a nice touch to make espresso.

Stayed here for one night and the hotel was great. Excellent customer service and the room was clean and the size was perfect for two people. They have new 65 inch TVs in the rooms and automatic blackout shades. Downstairs there are two great restaurants and a club. We could not hear any sound from the club during our stay. I would try getting drinks from Gilligan's as it is all outdoor seating and has a great ambiance with plants all around and a cool "beachy" vibe. Room service was quick and the food was good but for a better food option go downstairs. A+ service and great location in Soho. If you have the chance to stay here do it!

We stayed for 1 night for my birthday and our stay was amazing. From the valet to concierge to housekeeping we were very satisfied. The bed was comfy, mini bar was incredible and they are pet friendly! The hotel is beautiful such a cool Nyc vibe. We will definitely return! We had views of the Empire State Building as well!

Service really let this property down. Is anyone else tired of hearing the Covid excuse? I get it, the world is weary and tired from the pandemic...me too...however I still have to cough up full price while service standards continue to fall whilst swallowing the "we are stretched due to Covid". The owner of the property loves this, maximum price, maximum profit...below minimum value for guests. Don't expect room service before 8am (wont do it, you guessed it "Covid")...don't expect a rooftop bar (was told by reception this doesn't exist "so whats the image on the website"?), don't expect more than 1 umbrella per room...but if you do - expect attitude from front reception on having to dig on up (thats if they don't make you run between ground and level 1 searching for one yourself at concierge)...expect the grimest Bartender ever..his attitude turned us off our drinks (please mate, enjoy life a little more...you might just earn yourself a tip next time). Mini bar might get replenished every other day if you're lucky (missed out on easy revenue there). There were some positive though, the housekeeping staff were lovely, warm and really doing a great job...although if you send your laundry for cleaning expect to take out an overdraft...sent men's underwear, socks and 4 shirts to be laundered choosing next day over same day (it was 3pm when I called for it to be picked up)...arrived 1pm next day and $300 later...reception kindly knocked off 50% when I questioned them...there response was "yes, thats ridiculous, we will charge only half"...well thank you very much! There are so many wonderful properties in NYC...this really isn't one of them.

Workers were great especially the doormen from evening to night. Concierge created a map for me to follow and experience SOHO in the best way possible. The room was modern/ retro and the amenities were good. The gym was a little small but that just motivated me to workout faster. Everything in my room and in the hotel worked so I really have no complaints. The bar gets pretty packed and the music was how I would describe modern/ yacht club vibes. The drinks were delicious and the bartenders (although busy) still recognizes you and looks out for you.

Such a great boutique hotel with a nice swanky lobby bar with a full menu. The lighting is sexy and the pet friendly amenities are amazing. They have their own dog park for the doggos and very close to the subway station. Very convenient location.

Really friendly staff, nice rooms, comfy beds. Wasn't noisy at night even on a low floor which was pleasantly surprising. Both the bar/restaurant and the diner had good food and service. Front desk provided complementary glass of prosecco at check in and was very nice. Overall a lovely hotel, and I'll def be back!

We were in town last weekend for a wedding and could not be happier that we chose Soho Grand. Everything was perfect from the minute we pulled up to the valet. The gentlemen that greeted us was warm, welcoming and very helpful. Within seconds we were at the front desk checking in. Front desk was quick and very welcoming-we were in our room in less than 5 minutes. The room was fabulous and everything we needed was there. Since the pandemic we have had awful experiences in multiple hotels throughout the country: no restaurants, bars, room service or housekeeping in many, yet prices climbing. We know how hard staffing has been for the industry but paying attention to the details matters. Soho Grand excelled on every level. Their housekeeping staff is so fantastic I cannot remember the last time our room was cleaned so quickly (most not doing at all anymore). In addition to being quick they were friendly, and thorough-nothing was missed in the 4 days we were there. Location is dynamite-easy to get to and hundreds of shops, bars and restaurants in walking distance. They have a thriving bar & restaurant scene and even while slammed the bartenders were quick, professional and fun. The entire hotel has an amazing energy, and they keep all the lights dim which we loved. We got back late Saturday night after the wedding to a massive line outside and music pumping, but they saw us coming and guided us right in so we could get to our room, and we could not hear a peep once in our room. We had such a great time; I wish they were in every city we visit. We will definitely be back. If you are looking for a hotel that still goes all out to ensure you have the best experience possible, then this is the hotel for you.

The staff was extremely professional and kind. Guest services were Five (5)Stars and the room was not only well curated but also sanitized and Spotless. Also, centrally located if you wish to hit the major spots of NYC.

We stayed at the SOHO for two nights the week after Christmas, its a very nice boutique hotel and the location is great for shopping and restaurants. The valet and concierge service were both very welcoming we when arrived and while we were early for check in our luggage stored. We enjoyed a nice lunch in their bar/lounge area, shrimp cocktail and salads. The bar has a very nice selection of wine, cocktails and bourbons. The hotel was decorated very tastefully for the holidays. When our room was ready the front desk staff was very friendly and we were given a nice glass of champagne. Our room was a nice size, comfortable bed, x-large TV and a nice size bathroom with a walk in shower. There is also a nice selection of in room amenities (food/snacks/travel needs and personal items-just about anything you could need or want) that you can charge to your room. My only complaint is that later at night when we returned from our evenings (after 11:30pm) out there was a VERY strong smell of marijuana on the floor and it seemed to linger in our side of the floor, we did let the front desk know but the smell remained most of the night. The bar has a fun late night vibe and you can order food well into the later hours, Wednesday night they have a nightclub that opens into the early morning hours. We had breakfast downstairs a their trendy 'diner' which was also good and another option for eating. We enjoyed our stay and would certainly come back again.

The Soho Grand is a neat little old school boutique hotel. Typical / classical old New York with lots of leather, dim lights and narrow hallways. Beautiful if you are traveling alone and plan on long naps ;)

Definitely not inexpensive but worth every penny. Dave Chapelle stayed there while I was there which gives you an idea of the quality of the place it is. The staff are very conscientious of all their guests, from nobodies like myself to celebrities like Mr. Chapelle (no one there told us he was there). The service sets them apart. Just one example, we told the young woman checking us in about a special event occurring while we were there and she remembered and sent up champagne and chocolates on the day of. Gratis.

THIS IS THE PLACE TO STAY! The location is amazing, right in the heart of Soho, near subway lines and all of the shopping, and I mean ALL. The lounge is comfortable, have live music and a young feel without the feel of blasting music and screaming a conversation. Marcus, the guest customer experience manager is stellar. Rooms are modern, clean, quiet, sheets, pillows, towels are high quality.

A modern hotel with and industrial vibe. Staff are excellent. You have tons on dining choices in SOHO but the Diner in the hotel is excellent. Best cocktail in week was enjoyed in the hotel lounge. We'll stay here again for sure.

It's 2:30 am and I'm awake in my room. Because there is a very very loud nightclub in the hotel lobby. The hotel chooses to blast music through the night, and the rooms have little sound isolation. No amount of cool decor can make up for this. Can't believe I paid to be subjected to this torture.

What can I say, this hotel treats you with care and respect. I didn’t have to life a finger. They grabbed my bags from my driver and stored them seamlessly until I was ready to check in. The room is cute and quiet. The area has so many great shops and perfect for a evening of luxury.

Amazing stay. Perfectly located and very well maintained. Perfect for shopping and dining around! My room on the 14th floor had a beautiful view. I was impressed by the cleaning service, impeccable. I must thank Mark during the reservation time and Charles and Claudia for the warm welcome. Highly recommended!

I have been fortunate to stay in some world class hotels and Soho Grand is the best of the lot. From the moment the doorman greets you until check out I am treated with kindness and respect. My last stay was right before Christmas and everything went wonderfully, which is no easy task.

I have stayed at The Soho Grand 3 times in the past year and each time has been a wonderful experience! Great location and a great customer experience! Grand stay this December at the Soho Grand! Was my first time at the hotel, and I was impressed with the friendly, went-above-and-beyond service (from the front door, to reception, to the dinner and the lobby lounge) as well as our corner King room and the overall hotel vibe. Cool neighborhood, cool hotel. Will be back!

Salmon bagel and shrimp cocktail were delicious. The drinks were stellar also. The bartender couldn’t make us our requested drink but we had so much fun tasting other things she could design! Loved this experience.

It was a great pleasure to have stayed in this hotel for three days. I have really enjoyed the laid back feelings at the pool. This hotel and its staff are everything I had wished for. Everyone and everything was absolutely perfect and exceptional. I had a great time and never had a bad meal. No to mention, all of the staff were so accommodating.

It’s a good hotel. Really small rooms that aren’t very sound proof. If you’re here on a weekend be prepared for lots of crowds and noise, particularly if you’re on the lower floors.

Great hotel. In the room of this hotel, I always feel like I'm at home. It is so nice. The atmosphere is just coward and cozy. Personal is great. The bar on the second floor is so fun!

I always love staying at this hotel when in the city. It's convenient to so much. The rooms are nice, good size for a NYC hotel. I'm particular about bathrooms, especially showers, and they don't disappoint. The staff is friendly and helpful. The lounge at the bar is perfect for a drink before going out. You are going to get street noise, but it's NYC. It's expected. Just bring earplugs.

The Soho Grand was the perfect place to unwind and relax after long days of NYC attractions. In addition to its convenient location, upon our arrival, we were greeted by an extremely attentive, professional and friendly staff. Our room was well appointed, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. If entertainment is on your wish list, you will not be disappointed with the options inside or nearby. We look forward to returning to the Soho Grand and once again enjoying its many amenities.

I loved the experience staying at this great hotel! Beautifully situated in Soho the fantastic staff attentive and polite. The room was comfortable, clean, and a big TV, the bed was divine. The place is chic, might seem simple from the outside, but very high quality and rich in the inside, great atmosphere it makes you feel special:) I was fully prepared to be in a load room after reading some reviews, but happy to report that from room 528, I didn’t hear a THING.

I stayed for 7 nights, the location is great, hotel is clean and fun(busy) but the staff was rude (especially at the bar). I was sick for 3 of the 7 days, I ordered food (from outside), the consierge didn't bring it up and didn't even call me to say it's here. Also, my brother ordered soup for me, asked the hotel to send it up, again, they simply kept it at the consierge. Last but not least they charged me $420 extra in the bill and have not responded to my emails about it.

Visited Nov 2021 - I loved my little room (but deluxe king) at the soho grand. Great place to walk around Soho for shopping and eating. Relatively affordable considering NY prices! Try not to drink anything in the bar - i think they charged 5$ for just normal bottled water. But sheets were really clean and not damp and water flow was good.

Lonnie and the Bell Captain were great. Especially Lonnie. However, it is inconceivable that hotel guests cannot get into the hotel bar on Friday and Saturday nights because the locals have taken up all the reservations weeks in advance. Never seen anything like it.

  • 2/5 C.M. K. 2 years ago on Google
Come for the bar, but don’t get a room. The only thing you are paying for is the location, but there are better options near by. Every step of the way from booking a room to checking out has been painful. No one cares. Writing this review will watching other hotel guest clearly just upset for completely different reasons.

LOVED this hotel. I was going to book a cheaper hotel but am glad we chose this one!! Room had plenty of space for 2 of us, nice fitness center and fun bar! Very fun atmosphere. I would love to stay here again when I travel back to NYC in a couple of months.

Nothing can match that feeling of intense relief you feel upon entering a spick-and-span hotel room—and Sono Grand Hotel is no exception. I stayed here for only a night, but the experience remains unforgettable. Great location, chic interiors, and friendly staff; I could not have asked for more!

Really good hotel, great Kind of rustic rooms with the Marshall speaker (great addition!!!) And a well maintained modern vibe. Great bar that works everyday and which also provides a really good breakfast in the mornings. This was my third visit and I'll definitely be back.

Great location (walkable to many boutiques and good restaurants), wonderful staff, BUT NO OUTDOOR BAR or lounge on upper floor as shown on their main pic. That's misleading and one of the main reasons we picked the hotel. The decor in hotel and rooms is savvy NYC.

Looks nice and all but if you want to have sleep, better look for some any other place really. Asked for a quiet room and the put me right where all the outside noise is loudest- some time of machinery buzzing. Also, the AC/ air system failed to warm up the room. Woke up freezing and ended up sleeping no more than 4 hours due to all the above. Never again!

We loved our stay at the Soho Grand! Our room was beautiful and extremely comfortable. The bed and pillows were a dream. Everyone was helpful and friendly during check-in and check-out. The hotel is in a great location - near several restaurants and bars on our itinerary. We also ate at the Soho Diner and it was delicious! We will definitely return soon.

Attractive, well run, excellent location and top notch service. OUTSTANDING value. The hotel has a casually elegant vibe especially in the lobby bar with plush seating and enormous windows. Rooms had everything I needed, even a complimentary umbrella. Really well thought out provisions. I appreciate the shelving in the bathroom for toiletries and ample space around the sink. Only downside: not a fan of the dark decor. Also, I had some trouble regulating water temp in the shower because of the fixtures. And I recommend booking a room that is not over the club - the noise level was somewhat disturbing late at night. But overall this hotel felt lovely, upscale, laid back and trendy. It was a wonderful downtown discovery and you can not beat the price. The staff was very responsive. I had a great experience here and will definitely come back.
