this is one of the coolest hotel I've stayed in a long time, extremely mellow vibe, staff was always available, friendly and helpful, like hanging with your best friend. Very nice bars both on the ground floor and upper floor with a beautiful view of the city. Perfectly located just off of Time Sq so your not disturbed by all its noise. Easy access to public transportation and walking distance to a lot of the shops, attractions and parks. The room was modest with lots of modern controls, well arranged for the size. The bed the was comfortable, spacious, clean and most important no bed bug, we checked šŸ˜‰. If you want to take a partial point off, no microwave nor iron... but they have the coolest ironing room šŸ˜œ

We loved the rooms, very clean. Friendly staff. The lady who served us in the room was an amazing person. We really liked her. Thank you for all your help. We'll definitely stay again. The rooftop lounge was a popular spot. We enjoyed spending the mornings outside.

Honestly, we had a good stay at this hotel and I would have recommended it, however an experience with their customer service afterwards completely soured the experience. We left something important in our room (my wedding ring). Totally my fault, not the hotel's. However, you cannot call the hotel directly. You can only call their international call center. I waited on hold for 90 minutes to finally be transferred to the front desk of the actual hotel. They said they would check on my lost item, and then hung up on me. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt that this was an accident, but still, I was left with no remedy but to call back and wait another 90 minutes? This time I decided to try the chat and waited 40 minutes to speak to a real person, who basically told me I could try calling the central number again, because "there is no direct number". After pushing for a more reasonable solution, they said they would have the front desk call me back. They did eventually call me back 8 hours later to let me know they did not find the ring. Next time I will book at a hotel that wants to assist their patrons in solving basic problems. You should not have sit on hold for hours to ask a simple question.

Excellent. Firstly, the location is smack bang in times square and a short ten minute walk from radio city to give you an idea of location. Central park is also 10 minutes away. Right next door to subway station as well so easy access with suitcases etc. Rooms clean and comfortable ( In fact very cosy and reasonable size room for new York! ) Staff couldn't have been more helpful. We had an issue with a payment and it was sorted out immediately. Big shout out to Redmond ( I think he was called ) who sorted that out on reception. The breakfast was also excellent and lots of great choices to suit all tastes in a morning. No real negatives and would definitely use this hotel again. If I was being really picky the lifts were not all working so waiting for a lift to the 19 floor and back down to reception could take a while and could some times hear music from times square at night ALTHOUGH it was Xmas so to be expected but even then it was only for a short time. The highlight for me was the iPads in all the rooms that control everything from the lights, shutters, heat and TV plus some things. 5* and highly recommended.

This first time we have stayed in one of those compact rooms. It worked for us. We worked a system so we can leave the bed efficiently in the middle of the night without climbing over each other. See picture of the bed below. The people working here are all great. The bar is excellent. All amenities available. The site is near everything you need in Times Square and even subway station

citizenM is always a great experience, and I will recommend it to anyone. But the Times Square location provided a few challenges once we got to our room. There was a button missing on one of the control panels (and the lettering was fading from most of the other buttons, so it was hard to render what they controlled). Neither the window blind nor the curtain functioned properly. The television had intermittent picture & sound issues. And, we had two hotel-supplied hair dryers fail on us, with slow service from the staff when we requested replacements. Also, it was very cold in NYC this weekend (below-freezing), and with the bed right next to the window, I could feel the draft of cold air as I slept, and standing moisture had gathered on the windowsill by morning. However, none of this sullied my opinion of citizenM. I will always stay with them when I'm in a city where one exists. It's a really unique, great experience, and an incredible value when compared to its peers. I do love the 21st-century functionality of the room and the efficiencies of space. The confines are small, but cozy. Not uncomfortable at all. The bed is amazing. The staff is very friendly and helpful, even if the hair dryer replacement took a while. But there were some things about this particular room that could have been improved to make this experience even better.

This is probably my favorite hotel I've stayed in. Everything about it is so welcoming and unique. The one word I would use to describe this hotel is comfort. Everything is built and designed for the visitors to be comfortable. The beds are amazing and so soft, the windows let in so much natural light, and the tablets are a wonderful touch (which allow you to control everything in your room; from the blinds, to the lights, to the colored LEDs in the bathroom etc.).

The location is amazing! Steps from Broadway shows and Times Square. It's a great size room for 2 people, and the way the whole room/lights/blinds are controlled is excellent. This was our second citizenM hotel stay, the other being in Paris, and check-in was fast. They have cool chill spots on the first floor with a cool outside courtyard, and on the rooftop, they have another spot. On the last day, we were able to leave our luggage and explore NY a little bit more and were even given umbrellas to use for the rain. Definitely recommend this hotel.

This place exceeded expectations! Our room was quite small, but for just two people it was a great spot to come back to after a long day exploring the city. The King bed was SUPER comfortable, the room itself was spotless, and we had a huge window with great view (plus a blackout curtain at night). An iPad controls everything in the room, from lighting to temperature (which was a great feature, since I like it cold), and you can cast from your phone to the TV to watch your own shows. The hotel itself feels like a funky hostel, with cool art everywhere, a fun lounge/lobby with a bar, and even a rooftop bar just for guests! The location is perfect for getting to shows (the Gershwin Theater is right across the street), Times Square, or walking up to central park, and we found lots of great places to eat in Hell's Kitchen. During booking I left a note that we had tickets to see Wicked, and the staff left a handmade card, witch hat, snacks, and Wicked photos displayed around the room when we arrived! They really went above and beyond. Would absolutely stay here again!

Still staying here at the time of writing this. But the rooms are amazingly large. The photos online do it no justice. The controls for the room smooth and all the switches in the room itself are labelled!!! Not only this staff genuinely are friendly. Happy to help and will chat chat with you if you want to! Honestly, New favourite style of hotel! Modern, friendly, accessible, fun!

WOW! Rarely do I get blown away by the hotel, but this experience was really one of a kind. Apart from the fact that their check in system and rooms are really pleasant and high tech, then the staff as well were genuinely so nice to their guests and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. They really made this place different because they actually seem to care if we had a good stay. I can only highly recommend this hotel and I will be sure to check out other CitizenM hotels in the future!

Very good location. I only had 2 days to explore NY but this hotel was close to everywhere by walking distance. Amazing staff. Clean and the room is wow speechless. Highly recommend the city view especially at night. Tried the roof top bar at night which was just so great. The hotel has surprisingly safe system implemented too. High tech for certain

I like this place and whenever I visit NYC I stay in this hotel . Good service, I liked the gym and bar on the 21st floor. Also the breakfast area is cozy. Room size is not perfect for a family with kids however it's decent for solo and two adults travelers .

Great location for tourists! Amazing rooftop bar for guests only. We enjoyed the lobby bar/restaurant too. Whole hotel has a funky modern vibe. Our standard room was small but efficient and reasonably priced. My son loved controlling everything with the tablet! Would stay here again.

The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are compact but high tech with a very comfortable California King bed, I love how you can control every feature from the tablet, and the staff are the nicest and most helpful hotel crew Iā€™ve encountered. I lost my backpack in a common area and the staff went above and beyond to find it. They couldnā€™t find it that night but they found it the next morning and held it in the luggage room for me. I canā€™t thank them enough for finding my valuables and for how friendly they were in person, and on the phone. The location is very busy and chaotic in the Times Square area, which is a good thing for most first time visitors. I stayed at the Bowery location downtown and the rooms were just as nice, but the panoramic view was amazing. I enjoyed the location a lot more since it isnā€™t as touristy and you have easy access to the walking paths on the Williamsburg Bridge and local restaurants.

The location was great. Enjoyed sitting up on the roof looking down to Times Square. Bed was a king size and was very comfortable unfortunately the pillows were not so comfortable. I even woke up with a neck ache one morning. They need to be thicker. Window blind and curtains not installed properly they look awful when closed. The drain in my sink was somewhat clogged up. Took ages for the water to go down and it just made the sink look a mess when it did. Something wrong with the control of the temperature. I turned it up fully because the nights were cold, it takes quite some time before feeling the warmth. One of the lifts kept failing to take me where I wanted to go. The card I was issued with was useless inside that lift. Now honestly, I'm quite easy to please usually, however my week stay here was very expensive! It should have been near perfect at least.

All around nice hotel. Location is right near times square (good or bad depending on how you see it) and really close to several subway stations. Rooms are small but cozy. The app to control the room's lights, ventilation, etc is great and works really good. Bed is huge considering the room's size and comfortable as well. Checkin and checkout was really smooth and they even had our rooms ready prior to the check in time which was a nice addition. Staff is super friendly. They happily stored some food on the fridge/freezer for us and took our requests no problem. I did however order some stuff online (after letting them know) and for some reason the package was refused which made me have to refund the order, but other than that everything was great. Didn't try the breakfast here but we did order some food and its was quite good, though they did take some time to prep it. Price was pretty much the same as all other hotels in the area and of this calibre, though I'd say probably a bit cheaper than other 4 star hotels. Probably not staying near times square again (too much chaos) if returning but would definitely check out other citizenM locations.

Staff were very welcoming and friendly for the entire stay. Service is above and beyond, special mention to Roy, Ben and Rovne. Room is small and comfortable. Hotel is quirky and atmospheric. Location is perfect, so central. Recommend staying on a high floor for a great view.

I loved this hotel! The staff is so friendly, I felt welcome from the first moment I walked in. The atmosphere is so nice and cozy. My room was clean and the bed very comfortable. You can control light and air conditioning with your phone or the ipad in the room, both worked perfectly for me. The location is also great, walking distance to many attractions in the center of NYC and also many subway lines close by, if you want to go someplace further. I was traveling alone, but felt really safe in this area. If you want to see a Musical on Broadway the location is perfect, since it has several shows right around the corner. The breakfast was so delicious and there were all beverages included, even if you wanted coffee to go, you didnā€™t need to pay extra. There are some very nice views from the rooftop bar as well. On my last day storing my luggage after check out was not an issue, there is also late check out available for an extra fee which might be useful if you have a flight in the evening. I really recommend this hotel and hopefully will be back one day!

Absolutely fantastic. With the 1 train at one end of the block and the C/E at the other, itā€™s a centrally located $200 hotel with modern conveniences. Each room is like a pod hotel, but far better than a Yotel. The layout is compact but brilliantly smart. As a couple we never felt cramped and had room to do everything we needed. Lights are colour controlled, thereā€™s curtains and black out shutters, and ac and tv all controlled from an iPad. Itā€™s responsive and it all works. The literal only downside is the large bed is side on, so one of you is sleeping boxed in by your partner. The beds are firm, thereā€™s two large pillows each with tons of rebound, and the rooms are quiet. Hooray! The shower has two powerful heads to it. Thereā€™s a fridge, and anything else you need. Itā€™s modern and clean. Outside the room, free water and coffee, friendly staff and a vibe that is just the right side of too much. Enough that thereā€™s a distinct bold character, but it stops short of being obnoxious. The level of service and amenities for the location makes this the perfect crash pad for shows or a weekend in the city. Big recommend.

It's improved a lot since I last went about a year ago. Big improvements - they've stopped playing really loud obnoxious rap/hip hop music in their 'lobby' entry area and have toned it down a lot, making it much more pleasant to spend time there. The room seemed to be functioning pretty well. Breakfast is good, more options since I was last here and they had some more grab and go options. It's still expensive, but if you grab some fruits/croissants/juices to take back up to your room with you it's less exorbitant. It's a small space you get in the room but it's well kept up. The only real downside is that there's really only one bedside table and entrance to the bed so if there's multiple people you'll have to clamber over each other. There is a closet and underbed storage so if you have a bunch of luggage there are places to put things. The place really needs an ice machine though IMO. They do have a luggage storage room in the downstairs area. The location is really fantastic, especially if you're looking to see any Broadway shows. But even if you aren't, it's easy to get the subway from there and travel around Manhattan. The only downside is really price - at ~$400 a night at times it's hardly 'affordable luxury'.

Fantastic location! Just a little off the ā€œbeaten pathā€ in NYC. Located across the street from the current theatre for Wicked. Also has easy access to the 1 line and the C/E lines. The room wasā€¦ cozy. But really all that we needed for our trip. Our suitcases were a little too large for the under the bed storage, but still could stand them up in free space. The system to control the lighting, A/C, and TV isnā€™t bad. However, I wish the system had a sleep timer for the TV. Overall a great stay, nice staff, and great location. Thank you!

My husband and I recently stayed at the Time Square CitizenM hotel in NYC this past Sun.-Wed.111/19/23-11/22/23. Good friends of ours recommended the hotel to us ( they were there the same time as we were).I loved the at home feeling as soon as we walked through the doors. The staff was extremely friendly and accomodating ( which is rare in a hotel). Ivan was exceptional. He went above and beyond. The rooftop bar was incredible! Our son ( who lives in NYC) and his friends met us for a drink. They too, were impressed. The hotel rooms were on the small side, but I think it was designed that way on purpose to encourage their guests to use all of the many spaces wether it be to eat, work, or just relax. We all had a wonderful time, and I can't thank you enough for making our stay so enjoyable! We will absolutely be back!

Excellent from all aspects! The location is great if you want a full tourist-y experience. The roof top bar is beautiful and gives you an amazing experience. I love the CitizenM concept and execution of the efficiency is the small space.

I usually donā€™t take time to write reviews but wanted everyone to know how special this experience was at this hotel. I came solo here for my 21st birthday after my plans changed & iā€™ve seriously never met a better group of staff, hospitality, and service. I was greeted with a card and balloons in my hotel room and also enjoyed the many amenities offered here. The rooftop bar is private and also halls an excellent view. The lobby and lounging areas are also one of a kind. Buffet breakfast worth the price too. Furthermore, this location is prime and the train station is a two minute walk from the hotel. There is security at all times, and access only with your key card to get in after a certain time at night which makes the hotel feel very safe. The rooms are small, but they boast High-tech features such as an iPad and control lighting as well as modern features throughout the entire room. The bathroom even lights up in whatever color you choose! A special thanks to Audrey & Eddie Who went above and beyond and provided me with excellent conversation and service during my stay. CitizenM Will forever be my new favorite hotel anywhere I go in the major cities! -Isaiah

Iā€™ve stayed here twice in the last year. Both times were pleasant. The location is convenient, and everywhere I needed to go was within walking distance. Checking in/out was extremely easy. The staff was helpful and polite. It wasnā€™t as quiet as I would have liked in June, but that was because of a few guests being just a little too loud. They eventually settled down, so it wasnā€™t a big deal. I mention it to point out that youā€™ll be able to hear some of your neighbors on your floor. Thereā€™s a rooftop bar that serves drinks and even makes mocktinis on request, which are perfect for those who donā€™t drink alcohol. The breakfast buffet isnā€™t free, but I doubt most of the hotels in the area offer free breakfast anyway. The breakfast and coffee were both good. They offer other food/snacks for sale throughout the day, like hummus and pita chips or pizza. The rooms were economical and cozy. The lights and temperature are managed via an iPad. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The mini fridge was OK, but it was a little too small to fit anything other than a few drinks. The shower pressure is perfect. If you have somewhat coarse hair like mine, I would bring your personal hair products. I didnā€™t like the products in the shower because my hair felt like rough hay after using them. There is a working area overlooking the main floor for anyone. You could also choose to work on the main floor or in your room. The table in my room was a little too small for working in my opinion. The gym was impressive. It seemed well-maintained and had an outdoor area for relaxing as well.

This was my first time staying at the citizenM, and I would do it over and over again! Everything about the stay was positive. The staff was super friendly and helpful, the hotel was very clean, and the room was perfect! The rooms are small, but that's NYC. The rooftop bar also had amazing views!

I decided on this hotel based on YouTube reviews. I pretty much already knew what to expect and my experience was no different. I loved everything about my stay from the check in to the check out. The staff was wonderful and helped make sure everything went smoothly. I felt welcomed. The view from my room was amazing and the room was very clean. The room location was perfect. Nice and quiet. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family members out of state when they come to visit.

I have mixed feelings. First the good. Super awesome location and super close to the D line and walking distance to basically everything. I loved especially how close it was to Hells Kitchen. The staff was intensely friendly and welcoming. We loved our room and how cozy it was and our favorite part was being able to watch the skyline at night. The shades were a little wonky but weā€™re not picky and the bed was warm and fluffy. However the price I agreed on was not the price I paid. I had to move our dates twice due to a family emergency. Originally we were told an extra 100ish bucks to move the dates but we ended up paying about 200 more. I also purchased the breakfast included option which was somehow cancelled but I never got my money back on it. The person attending breakfast said it was fine but we were charged an additional 60 bucks for our ā€œincludedā€ breakfast. (This was NOT the fault of the worker at the bar though) I also randomly got charged 34 bucks before we even arrived??? So our affordable two night stay started to become not worth it especially because thereā€™s other micro hotels around that are cheaper but we opted for citizenM for the cute rooms (which again were 5/5). I dunno it just seems like we were tricked a little bit and might try a less fancy but more economical hotel next. It was fun though.

Manager I spoke to was friendly and warm and just wonderful. Unfortunately he has a really bad apple working in his front lobby that shoukd never ever be involved with anything in hospitality service. The girl was not very professional. So I guess it's okay to treat people who are not vaccinated like they don't belong or shout out mis information information in front of every in lobby making herself look like a fool which im sure is a regular occurrence. I wonder how long this hotel is willing to lose customers and business and tarnish its brand by letting her hold a job ? How many complaints will it take. If your not vaccinated even after this pandemic becomes an endemic I will never stay here with government rules in place or not. I will never forget that Terrible embarrassing experience.

This hotel was both nice-looking and practical, the location is amazing especially for first time New York trips. The room, although smaller than some hotels, was filled with amenities and the technology was on point (we could control everything, from the lights to the curtains on an iPad). The people there were always very polite, enthusiastic and helpful. We really felt welcomed here, especially when we arrived in our room and found it filled with balloons, a card and drinks! Will definitely come back whenever we visit NYC again :) (Also forgot to mention the view from the bar at the top of the building! Just amazing)

Citizenm is a great hotel. Its comfortable, personable, unpretentious, and high quality. The rooms are very comfortable for two people with a huge stylish bed and a very efficient and well-designed space. A/C is effective and quiet. Lighting controls and curtain controls are great, sound isolation from street is excellent. The bar is great too.

Great location in the city, rooms are modern and quite funky with big comfy beds built in, making the best use of a pretty small space. The bars on the rooftop and in the lobby are nice and staff are very helpful. Would happily book here again.

The staff is the friendliest and most helpful I have dealt with in a while. They were able to answer all of our questions, help us with storing our luggage while waiting for check-in, providing us with masks, and being just nice. I give the staff 5/5. The hotel is really nice. The art at the shared spaces is great. There are places where you can relax while reading a book, having a drink, or hanging out with your family/friend. Also, there are some places where you can pull out your laptop and have some privacy to do some work. The room is really small (300-400 SF) but really nice. It has one big window next to the bed with an amazing city view. The bed is so comfortable. Shower head pressure is great. The room layout is well thought out for storage. Unfortunately there were some disappointing things. The room's bathroom shower glass walls and curtain were dirty. The room comes with a small iPad that controls the TV, room lights, and you can use to request other services. The charger for the iPad was not working and we requested a replacement twice - never received it. The Steam Room for your clothes is just a tiny room with an iron/steamer. So pretty much all the guests have limited access to one iron. The CloudM rooftop bar was closed when we tried to go. The door was just locked and there were no signs on the walls letting guests know if the bar was closed. We had to call the front desk and they explained that it was closed due to staff shortage.

Hotel is definitely very modern and super cool decor. Staff are super friendly. Restaurant/bar are on the better side of a hotel restaurant/bar. But rooms are little bit smaller than it seemed off the pictures. Bed was comfortable. The room did its job. Price wasnā€™t bad especially for the location. But for the price, room should be a bit bigger. But thatā€™s just my personal take.

Incredible staff, they feel like friends by the end of your stay. Lord Jerry, who works front desk and makes the BEST drinks (especially mojitos) at their rooftop bar is hands down incredible. Lord Jerry deserves a raise and a spot to showcase his musical talent at this hotel. Rooms are comfortable but not as clean as I would like. They get used heavily. Service and location are amazing. Highly recommend!

Excellent for quick weekend trip, you can't beat the location. Rooms are small, bathrooms small ~ think RV small. Amenities provided are liquid hand soap, 2 varieties of bath soap/shampoo, and a hair dryer. Extra towels and pillows were given upon request, however. It is a super cool looking, chic hotel with a couple of bars and small kitchen providing eclectic snacks. There is a "living room", the lobby area, which we found was a nice place to relax while waiting for ride to airport as flights kept changing.

Beds pretty comfortable. Bathrooms SUPER cramped, dumbest layout imaginable, poor hot water. Bathroom amenities very limited. Elevators prompt, decent gym, nice bar, good lobby, location fantastic, but I would never, ever stay here again.

We were not impressed. Upon check in the girl was not very friendly. The hotel itself is tremendously unique. The rooms??? SMALL!!! Maybe 150 sq ft. The views from the window? Brick walls šŸ˜‘ the rooms were a bit dated and not comfortable for 2 adults. My husband is a big guy and felt claustrophobic and so did I. Would not be a returning customer. In addition ? Didnā€™t feel the sheets were clean.

Stayed here for the Macy's Day Parade. The location is great. So many areas in the lobby you can hang out as the rooms are small. The room is clean and has all the amenities you need for your stay in NYC. Ben, Stephanie and all the staff were wonderful. Highly recommend and will definitely go back. Have stayed here three times. Overall itā€™s a nice hotel. Friendly staff as always. Food is simple but decent. The room is small but with a very big and cozy bed. Public area for working and studying. This time they are renovating 17-19th floor, so itā€™s noisy in the day if you stay in the room. And the location is perfect, close to subways, line 1, N R W and E C.

We spent eight days here and were really impressed by this hotel. Yes, the rooms are small but everything is very thought through. Anyone who is not aware of this has done poor research beforehand. We booked the upper floors (14th floor), so there was no noise at all. All the staff was always friendly and helpful. Everything is clean, the location is unbeatable central. I never book breakfast in NYC cause there are just so many options in the area, so I can't say anything about it. Would book again any time.

I had a really nice stay here during a business trip. The location was excellent, just a few blocks from Times Square. I loved the interaction during initial arrival. My best friend and I arrived over a few hours before check in-time. Even though the hotel was full so no room for early check in, we were met with front desk host who was very friendly and accommodating. It was such a relief to know they could store our bags so we didnā€™t have to lug around the city with our things. They even went out of their way to provide a few recommendations. To be frank this is what turned a 1 star review into 3 stars. With out this interaction I wouldā€™ve been left with the frustrations of the room condition when we finally checked in.. Some of the light switches didnā€™t work, the blinds wouldnā€™t come down, the apple play didnā€™t work well, and the shower door didnā€™t shut. I expected the room to be pretty tight for 2 as Iā€™ve had the pleasure of visiting a location in Seattle (newer property). It just seemed much tighter. The maintenance guy was able to come in & get the blinds unstuck but had to step on our BED in order to do so. At least they got a sheet I suppose. I understand with it being the new year, allot of places are booked but we were pretty disappointed in them not being able to accommodate us with a different room after notifying them of the first 15 minutes of being there of the roomā€™s condition. Anyway, to end this review on a positive note, the location is great if your aim is to be in time square. Pretty walkable to great eats and entertainment. Be sure to bring your good walking shoes and be weary of the New Yearā€™s eve chaos.
