Last minute my friend and I decided to spend the night in Brooklyn. After a few phone calls this was one of the few hotels with available rooms at a reasonable price. Great location, however the entire hotel needs some upgrading. Upon entering the hotel the receptionist was clearly under the influence of something, but who am I to judge? We finally got to the room, as soon as we put our food on the table it came off the wall onto the floor. I had to support it to prevent the food from hitting the ground. Then there were obvious stains on the bed sheet, so I called the receptionist about the table and when he left I followed him downstairs for an extra towel and extra sheet. The towels were old, pillows flat and the pillow case had cigarette burns! The TV never came on and the air conditioning was malfunctioning ended up blowing cold air in the winter. Bottom line, I was embarrassed I took someone’s daughter to such a place. I couldn’t tell you how they are still in operation!

This is NOT a hotel it’s a HOSTEL there was nothing convenient about this stay. I had to buy my own washcloths from target, they don’t have room service to clean and turnover rooms, you have to ask for dry towels DAILY and you may not get them. People smoke weed and cigarettes in the building the place doesn’t look modern at all, there’s never anyone at the front desk, and the list goes on! The neighborhood and the shower is nice but what’s a nice shower with no towels?

Do not stay here. I am not sure how this hotel is still in business. The photos they have on their website and online is not the same as what you get. This hotel is very rundown, dirty, the rooms are very small. The washroom wasn't even functioning well, mirrors was broken, there's a leak in the bathroom, broken double locks on the door. We did not feel safe when we stayed here in October. The staff also leaves after 7pm and only returns some time in the morning. No one is there to help you or provide you any service. Stay away from this hotel.

Worst hotel experience ever. When I walked in, the lobby smelled of weed and the front desk clerk was nowhere to be found for at least 15 min. When we finally got to our room, the door couldn’t open fully because the bed was in the way. Inside the room, the queen bed took up the entire space with one sliver of a walkway from the bed to the bathroom. Be careful while walking from the bed to the bathroom because there is a piece of wood that sticks out off of the bed and I banged my leg on it a couple of times (for some reason that is a part of the bed design). The mattress feels like it’s stacked on top of cardboard boxes that can collapse with any sudden movement. The bathroom is old, with brown grout and mold in the shower and on the ceiling. The shower looked clean enough until I turned on the water and the urine smell hit me. There was only one towel in the entire room and when we asked for more we were told “sure” but it never showed up. There is no phone in the room so I’m grateful to be living in the era of cell phones. I wish I could find one pleasant thing to say about this hotel but I cannot. I truly wonder what this building was before becoming a hotel because the size of the rooms and how the beds fit inside makes no logistical sense. 0/10 do not recommend.

My partner and I stayed for 1 week in room 201. Take from this what you will. Pros: - Good location for those wanting to stay in Brooklyn - Affordable nightly rate - Free wifi, bed, bathroom Cons: - Comically small room (open the door and there is a 1.5 inch clearance between the bed and the door) - Limited amenities (one pillow, one towel for double room with 2 people. The staff had to take a pillow from another room to provide us with a second) - EXTREMELY thin walls (if a guest was having a quiet conversation with someone in the room next door, you could hear all of it) - Smoke from other rooms (despite numerous signs and warnings around the property advising guests not to smoke on penalty of fines and forcible removal, the smell of cigarettes was everywhere. The aforementioned thin walls did not help to keep the smell out of the room, either) - Poor lighting (if you have bad eyesight, this is not the room for you. The single light in the bathroom was so dim it was laughable. Luckily there is a window, so you can have a bit of natural light whilst flashing people as you take a shower) - Screaming guests (fun twist, it was a different person every day. Also, on one occasion, the cops were called. Not by the hotel staff, but by other concerned hotel guests. Super fun) - Unreliable hot water (ironically, this was the last straw. It sorted itself out by the second day, but we would have left without hesitation if the issue continued) - Other fun details -- broken electrical outlets, holes in drywall, damaged furniture, cigarette burns on duvet and cabinetry, shower mold, a TV with no remote and a past due DirecTV subscription. Conclusion: This is not a hotel I would recommend staying in, unless you enjoy the aforementioned details.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The room was extremely small (double bed in the corner and had to open suitcases on the bed as there was no room to do so on the bedroom floor) but this isn’t a major deal to me. The worst parts were dirty bedsheets with stains, cigarette burns and the whole place smelled like cigarette smoke. The bathroom had a broken toilet that ran water loudly all night and there was mould in the shower plus it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. Towels were also dirty and I don’t think the towels or bedding had been washed in quite some time. I understand that you get what you pay for and if it is just a place to sleep for the night it isn’t so bad but I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Based on other reviews I also think I am one of the lucky ones as people have had worse experiences here than me. If you are thinking of staying here and all of these things don’t bother you then I would just recommend to bring a spare towel, shoes for the shower and something to cover the bed with. If the owners ever see this please just clean the place up a little. If there were washed towels and bedding, and the shower was cleaned it would make a huge difference. The location is great and this hotel could be something good if it was just cared for and cleaned up a little.

I once, unfortunately, spent a night in a jail cell, and there is no question: the accommodations there were far superior than what you’ll find at this pathetic excuse for a hotel The room in which I stayed seemed to have been designed as a middle school project. There was no room to walk around the bed, a full length mirror was hanging dangerously close to the shower, and one false move could have led to a nasty accident. The air conditioning sounded like an old, abandoned car. Plus there was no soap in the bathroom I tried to complain, but the desk clerk was nowhere to be found moments after my arrival, and his replacement didn’t arrive until mid-morning the next day. I immediately cancelled the 2nd of two nights that I’d booked, and she said I’d receive a refund , , but as you might imagine, I’ve since been told that won’t happen In a laminated handout that contained information that is not duplicated on their website, the owners of this “hotel” claim to be looking out for the environment, which I guess explains the two ratty towels that were ours to use for the length of our stay. Recycling! Cutting back on laundry! Oh I get it.. And have I mentioned that there was only one pillow for what was clearly a two person reservation? The neighborhoods below Park Slope have blossomed over the past several years. But just because the bodega on the corner has rearranged its shelves, and every block seems to have an enticing eatery, I urge you with every fiber of my being to avoid this place. Staying here created one of the most miserable nights of my life, and you do not deserve to go through the same mess

Our blanket and pillows REEKED of either body odor or mold. I spent most of the night trying to decide which option upset me more. We didn't discover this problem until we'd already undressed and gotten in to bed and didn't have the energy to go through the hassle of complaining. (Didn't want to interrupt the front desk guy's party with his friends.) But the stench was so incredibly gross it kept us up most of the night. We needed to request towels for the bathroom, and the ones we were given weren't bath towel size, but hand towel size. At least they were clean though. The accommodations themselves are good for the price and location. But the lack of a clean bed was just totally unacceptable. I had stayed here a few years ago and that time everything was very clean. I was shocked to have such a bad experience this time. Hopefully management will pay attention to this spate of bad reviews and get things in order.

So I made the mistake of booking this hotel before reading the reviews. I thought I'd save some money because I just needed a cheap hotel for the night, so I booked this hotel because it was the cheapest, but I really wish I would have have spent an extra $50 to stay somewhere else. Turns out all the 1 star reviews are correct. My entire room smelled like urine (maybe it was the mattress?), and the pillow case and bedding had holes from cigarette burns. The walls had holes that were sloppily patched. There was only a single flat pillow, and when I took the pillow case off it was yellow and stained, and even more cigarette holes underneath the pillow case. The whole room felt very unsanitary. I ended up not staying there and booked a different hotel, even though they wouldn't give me a refund, because I didn't feel comfortable, or safe, staying there.

The hotel looks really nice from the outside and by the reception, but once you get inside it’s so dirty!! The elevator was dirty, the hallway to the room and all smelling like cigarettes! Once I got inside the room the smell was even stronger, had to open to window asap. Then I went to the bathroom and wished the shower was cleaner, the curtains should be a new plastic one. Also, only 1 towel inside and it was kinda wet, it didn’t smell so I hope it was just from air drying. They clean the places you can see, under the bed was disgusting. So so dusty and had a water bootle from the last guest. I reached over the top of the bed to charge my phone and found eyelashes on the floor. The mattress is so bad, my back is killing me. One side was okay, but the other side I would fall into a hole. And I wiped the wall by the bed cause it was so dirty, had makeup around and something else. I had to leave the window open for a few hours for the smell to go and went to a store near by to by spray sanitizer to clean the bed and feel more safe (even drenched the towel in that so I could use it). I actually got my own pillow case cause I saw people saying it was a little dirty and I felt more comfortable. It’s a shame, the hotel is cute, nice staff, good price, next to the subway, we got amazing restaurants and stores around but since it’s so dirty I will not go back.

Truly disappointing experience. The toilet seat was broken and though I reported it to the front desk twice nothing was done about it. The entire room smell damp. There is next to no room to move around in space, and some of the storage is glued shut. There was a big hole in the wall down in the love you when I got there, and I should have been my first warning. My key stopped working every day, and they didn't ask for ID when I wanted to replace it so that was a wonderful security risk. Even the TV remote was broken, the back was missing and the batteries were taped in.

Remarkably small room with wallpaper peeling off the wall, cigarette burns in the bedspread, baseboard molding separated from the wall and a bathroom mirror that clearly had a shelf broken off of it. Black paint splashed on a wall. Had to go back to the lobby for towels (worn and mismatched - no washcloth or hand towel). There were tiny shampoo and conditioner bottles but no hand soap (had a bar in my kit). Two live (not for long...) roaches in the bathroom. Gave this info to the folks at the desk when we left and were told, "I'll pass that on to the manager." On the plus side, comfy mattress.

Let's start off with this was a same day booking for the weekend but they're no excuses for how disgusting this place is. Room was super small can't go around the bed. Stains on the blankets and sheets. Nails sticking out the bathroom mirror. Toilet sensitive clogged twice and they don't even keep plungers in the room you have to ask for it. Something of mine fell on the floor so I take a peak under like the 2 inch bottom of the bed . It is FILthy. The shower curtain was so yellow at the bottom it was practically turning orange. The shower head doesn't really move so you in an uncomfortable spot trying to shower. Some last had a dog that kept barking every time she left and she left multiple times I feel like they should have said something. Imagine trying to sleep and a dog is barking non stop. You can literally hear everything that's going on in the hallways is ridiculous. Would not recommend unless it's an emergency

Based on some of the reviews I felt like I was going to stay at an ISIS concentration camp. It wasn't great but it wasn't awful for the price. If they cleaned the hotel up better and used fresh clean sheets and towels this place would be a great choice for everyone. People in the hotel were normal travellers, I expected crack heads. Literally just use non stained sheets and detail clean after guests and this place would be perfect. Room is small but if you plan to day trip around New York all day that shouldn't be an issue.... As I said, just needs to be cleaner and erase the cig smell permanently embedded into the hotel. For my Australian travellers, this is basically just a non-clean rural motel.

The most awkward thing about this hotel room were the acoustics in the room. The walls must've been so thin, I could hear the girl turning the pages of her book at the front desk. But that being said, it was generally very quiet, so no complaints. The room was clean. Staff was friendly. The bed was huge, took up most of the room. And when the weekend came, there was a group of Partiers down the hall who smoked freely on the floor.

Where do I begin? Is it the fact that I spent over a week on this property and was rushed out of my room everyday even though I renewed it daily to extend my stay? Or is it the fact that I have to beg for new linen? Or how about the fact that I was robbed in my hotel room and had to call the police? How about the fact that when I asked for my money back they told me they could not refund me? As if I have never worked for a hotel before. They are so unprofessional they never even charged me for a security deposit and then try to say that it was my fault. They owe me $445 total and if I do not receive my money I will be taking them to court. This is sick. Not only will I never come to this establishment ever again but I would recommend everyone that I know to also not come to this establishment again. It is absolutely disgusting that I am spending my heart my heart on cash on such an establishment that cannot insure my safety.

This is New York you get what you pay for. The location is great it is a 2 min walk from the R train. The hotel is a 10 min subway ride from the Barclay's Center station you can transfer there and go anywhere in NYC. This is the cheapest hotel in Brooklyn so their are some cons. The hotel stinks immensely cigarettes and blunts but the room had better air quality. The staff is super friendly and helpful.

Do not stay here. The room was disgusting with mold, dirt, cobwebs, etc everywhere. There was a 'patched' hole in the wall that they clearly didn't even try to fix, it wasn't even painted over. The bathroom light started out just flickering and then eventually just never worked. Never someone at the desk for me to get it fixed. Was given a sheet for a blanket and never provided toilet paper. The place smelt and wasn't safe as the door sometimes didn't lock properly. Terrible place. Don't stay

Looked very nice in the pictures but in reality it was like a safe house from the start of a GTA game. The locking mechanism did lock our door but it didn’t sit in the frame from where somebody had attempted to kick it down previously. The hotel is also just left open all night with no security. The entire hotel smelt of stale cigarette smoke and there was cigarette burns all over our bed. The bathroom wall had been tagged, the floor was sticky and the bed stank. If Bukowski was still alive he’d have probably lived in this room. Probably quite obvious but do not stay here

Absolutely horrible experience. First, we were put in a room with dirty sheets and a backed up shower drain. Then, we switched rooms (sheets were still stained, but seemed fairly clean). Couldn’t even open the door all the way without hitting the bed. Insanely small rooms, but expected for this price/location. THEN we get back at the end of the night and our key no longer worked. Come to find out they removed all of our belongings and bagged them up in the basement because the receptionist never updated the log for the room switch. Absolutely horrible stay.

I wish I had checked reviews before booking this room (through Priceline). It was the worst, filthiest, smelliest, hole-in-the-wall room ever. No room to move. One sad mismatched towel in a moldy bathroom. TV mounted above the bed with dangling cords and—here’s the clincher—no remote control could be found, even by the one miserable staff person, so therefore UNUSABLE. Ground floor window overlooked a trash-strewn yard. And the price tag was over $400 for one night. We did not stick around. You have a nice location, Union Hotel. Do better.

Awful place, dirty and the people there were rude. Had I known I wouldn’t have booked. I left the same night to stay somewhere else close by. Could not stay one more minute in that place. If they were interested in being more clear about the rooms and bookings, I’d be more tolerant of the small room, but I specifically asked for a double bed room, or two beds, and they lied to me. No refunds of course. I’d love the hotel to contact me, but I don’t think they would.

Nice staff. Cuteish lobby areas. But it smelled funny, the bathrooms are not cleaned properly, the mirror for the bathroom was sitting on the desk. The floor was sticky. I took a shower and stubbed my toe on the corner of the wall and dirt got on my toe. The location is ideal, only real reason I booked it. Oh and I have 5 really bad bruises on my leg from hitting the corner of the bed and I was being cautious, I honestly never bruised like that. If you’re in a pinch or wanna be downtown, for the low… this is halfway decent, if you don’t have any standards for where you stay. I heard there’s no front desk clerk after 11pm but each time I got back after 11pm there was always someone there however the front desk is often empty.

DO NOT STAY HERE. This place is the most disgusting place I have ever tried to stay. Cigarette burns in the sheets, cigarette butts in the sink, shower drain clogged, shower basin overflowing, dirt everywhere, bed bugs in the sheets. They don't even give you towels and when you go own to the front desk to get towels they are old and ratty and dirty towels. I changed rooms and the second room was as disgusting as the first. With the added bonus that the heat was set to 90 degrees and the windows didn't open. I left and was told they couldn't do anything it. I'm out 160 bucks.

THIS HOTEL IS A SCAM!!! DO NOT BOOK!!!! I am out almost $500 because the room was too filthy to stay. There was urine in the hallway and the sheets were dirty. The mattress smelled like sweat. Also, the front dest person does not care and is only there in their words as a place holder. I tried getting a refund from Priceline who promotes them and they said the hotel denied. It was the WORST hotel experience of my life and I have traveled globally for years.

Would not recommend but I guess that is what you can expect when NY is so expensive. Bed was horrible and makes so much noise! No towels in the room and when I requested one I got one old gray and one white towel, one of which smelled like the were in a dumpster. TV doesn’t work. Room is small you only have enough space to walk around the bed. Places reeks of cigarette. Really might be better off staying at a motel. They were flexible for late check in which is a positive.

This was a very weird experience. The pictures are nothing like the real thing. The rooms are incredibly small. You can't even open the door fully because it hits the bed. The bedding was dirty. No hot water. Ppl were smoking in the lobby. An I also believe the stains on the wall to be blood splatter!!! I could go on but I think you get the idea that this is not the place you want to stay unless you're desperate!

This building shoud be condemned. It is not a hotel, simply a building with prison-sized rooms with a bed amd batbroom attached but absolutely filthy in an uunsafe neighborhood, building is unsafe too-front door to building left open 24 hrs and no one at front desk overnight, sheets on bed (no blankets) has stains all over them-was so horrible I left within 20 minutes once I was able to find someplace else to stay-guy at desk said i would be out my $140 bucks but wrote on my receipt and gave me am email to try and said good luck... i felt my personal safety is worth more than that, absolutely disgusted with this place and what happened, should not be called a hotel because it's not, seemed lile a cover as a homeless shelter which has happened in Brooklyn due to Covid but how they can charge money for 'hotel rooms' is beyond me. While waiting for ride out front cops came by twice in ten minutes to check on building attached to this one (which again, having no one at the desk and building door unlocked and open all night, seriously?) Funny thing is i'm a simple person/don't required much from a hotel room but this was a ridiculous and unfortunately very costly experience.

Do not book at this place. I booked a room from Dec 3rd to Dec 5th and after check in I walked to the room and the door was open, so I already felt unsafe. When I tried to walk in the door immediately hit the bed. It was 46 degrees in the room and the heater was broken. When I walked into the bathroom I saw two different types of hair in the sink, no towels and rust everywhere. I'm so happy my friend came upstairs to the room with me and saw this disgusting room and let me stay with his family. I packed my things to check out that same night but there was no one at the front desk. I was so upset I didn't even want to wait longer than I had to and just wanted to get the heck out of there. The fact that this hole in a wall is even called a hotel and has three stars is beyond me. I'm glad I only booked it for a short amount of time. You can't even get a refund, how messed up is that?!

This is probably the worst place I have ever stayed. Do not stay here. The sheets were stained and when I let the hotel know they said if they replaced the sheets each time they were stained, they would go out of business. Walls were covered in black dots, floors were caked with filth, curtains were see through. They refused to give me a refund and I felt so uncomfortable being stuck there. It is not like the photos. The hotel was also extremely loud and I requested several times for people to quiet down. They were three rooms down and blasting music til at least 2 in the morning.

Never. Nunca. Jamais. Niemals. לעולם לא Никогда. أبداً 绝不 कभी नहीं 절대 We didn’t heed the warning. We walked into the room and it was a different one than advertised, the pillow was stained with blood and he said we couldn’t get a new one. Front desk guy was really off putting and it felt like he was reading from a script. At one point he said that 3 people were sharing one bed with one pillow as if to tell us to shut up because it gets worse. Didn’t feel safe at all, we walked in and walked out within an hour. Terrible awful place never go here.

There was only one pillow and one towel for 2. We asked many times for this and only the last night they gave the other pillow and towel. They cleaned the room only one day because we encouraged them to do It. And they Deluxe room is reallly small. Walls have footprints from other guests in the walls. Bed clothing have cigarrete holes and was never changed.

DO NOT STAY HERE. The first room I was given stank of cigarettes, had burn holes and stains on the linens, there were holes in the drywall, and the door barely opened because the bed took up the whole room. I was given a new room after raising my concerns, however the same issues were present: the room smelt of cigarettes, the linens were stained and burned, the mattress had springs sticking through, the bathroom was filthy, and rubbish from the prior customer had not been removed, and there were holes in the drywall. The third party I booked through has tried to contact the hotel for a refund, but the hotel does not respond.

There's no way this can be classified as a 3 star hotel! Queen room had nothing but a bed and a fold out table with no chair. No fridge or microwave which is fine but there was NO TOWELS, HAND CLOTH, HAND TOWELS, OR MIRROR IN THE BATHROOM! There are also 2 throw pillows on the queen bed in place of standard pillows. Room was clean which is why I gave this one star. Horrible experience.

I would recommend you keep looking for another hotel. There was no at the front desk when we arrived. After multiple attempts at calling to get a hold of someone so we could check in, someone finally showed up. It just took 15 minutes to wait for someone. The rooms were very small which is not a big deal for one night stay. The walls had some kind of dark dried liquid on them, the shower looked like it hadn't been cleaned in quite some time, and there were no blinds on our window. All that said I don't recommend this hotel.

Not pleased with the condition of the room and most importantly the front desk clerk gave the same room key to another person in error I assume which scared the hell out of me and I’ve never experienced this in my life I’ll definitely be taking a better approach to choosing my stay more wisely cause I was paranoid for most of the night. When i arrived I was surprised how small the room was. Just about two feet larger than the bed on either side. Attached to the room is a small toilet including a clogged shower with hair of the last inhabitant still on the floor, mirror that was not attached to the wall anymore, but standing on the sink and you could not see yourself in and a unusable hairdrier with a busted wallplug. After asking i at least got towels. During my stay, i noticed a few things: The room is very poorly soundproofed. If other guests are walking by your door it sounds like they're walking trough your room and you can make out wich tv series your neighbor is watching. The matress is very bad, and makes noise if you move ever so slightly. I dont want to know what the burn marks on the nightstand and the stains on the bedsheets are from. The heater is very loud, even on the low fan setting. I stayed 10 days and they never changed my towels, bedsheets or did anything in my room. That would have been fine if the room was clean in the first place. Don't look under the bed. This is what you get if you book the cheapest hotel in brooklyn. Considering the location this still is a good deal for people on a budget and not afraid of the above mentioned points.

The room key didn't work. It was 2AM and we had no room. Called the manager on Monday to review and she hung up on me. Insane experience. Trying to connect with the parent company to discuss. Booked thru Agoda. Do not book @ this hotel.

WORST hotel experience ever, I was completely catfished. Cockroaches, dirty towels with holes, bed sheets with stains. Completely disgusting experience.

Do NOT book this place! The pictures on the website must be from years ago. The place was run down, dirty, and reeked of cigarettes. The comforter was stained, and there was garbage in the corners of the room. I left after ten minutes. The guy at the front desk was at least nice, and immediately said yes to refunding my money when I asked.

This hotel should be advertised as a short stay. If you are planning on staying for more than a few hours do not book here. Let's start with the room. The bed takes up 90 percent of the room. The sheets had a cigarette burn in it, no pillows and there was a shelf behind the bed that shook every time I moved. The tv was small and only had one channel. The view from the window was suspect as well. It has a 10 foot hole then a fence and another hole behind the fence. Now let's move to the bathroom. The toilet seat was blah, the shower was not only small, the curtain had mole and the bottom and the sink barely worked. Overall the room was extremely small, especially for two people. I booked for three nights and the price definitely wasn't worth it at all. NEVER AGAIN

Depressing hotel. As soon as we walked into the building there was smoke smell everywhere, including our floor and room. The front desk guy was not wearing a mask. Room had a really old creeky bed. Bathroom only had 1 small towel.

Disappointed. Lets tackle this appropriately. ° The rooms are made out to be much larger in the advertising and website. This room was essentially a bed smashed against the wall on 3 sides and you could barely open the door to the bathroom. ° The room WASN'T CLEANED properly before we arrived. There is a closet in the room which had wrappers, markers, loose change, half drank bottles of water, and a few other things I didn't care to investigate. ° Only one small towel was in the room, and a quarter of a roll of toilet paper. We didn't even get a bath mat and the shower is WIDE OPEN without any curtain, plus the floor doesn't have a drain so I don't get the logic behind this design. ° Entire property smelled like a dispensary. For a place with a no smoking policy, seems like nobody is following it. ° Elevator was very old and questionable. We preferred the stairs. ° Constant noise in this hotel. Second floor had room doors open with music blasting until later hours of the night.

I wouldn’t book it if I knew how bad this place is… the photos of the rooms are incorrect … bed sheets are not clean I asked for another one… if they offer free night I would rather pay another 100$ to get another hotel … never again … never come to this place … booked in rush not paying attention to reviews… sad

I had to leave my apartment due to Covid, so I was looking for somewhere local to stay safe. I am probably getting Covid from this hotel! It was so dirty. It reminded me for a dorm room. There was stains on the bed, and cigarette holes and everything smelled strong of cigarettes. After night one I had a bad headache. Also, the heater went from 48-90 with no inbetween. It was a really cold night so I had to keep turning the heater on and off. I love the location and the bar across the street. A few years ago I had a friend visit Brooklyn and they went to this hotel and I remembered thinking it was cute. It’s not cute anymore, it’s super gross. Don’t do it.

Unit was not clean under bed sheets and bathroom. Had a TV but couldn't enjoy cable. Cable couldn't be accessed due to a short electric cable. Relativity of pricing was good, but far location. Had a fat nice bed though. Was worth it for a cheaper alternative hotel than brand hotels closer to the action in the city on New years eve.

This hotel is a total scam. We booked a room for $250. Checked in on New Years Eve and left the hotel 20 minutes later to find somewhere else to stay. What happened during those 20 minutes? •The guy at reception was not wearing a mask, even though the hotel promises that they take extra precautions against COVID-19, and he was almost too high to function. •Our room was almost too small for the bed to fit. The dark sheets were stained. The dark-colored comforter had a large, white, crusty stain on it (you fill in the blanks here). •When we complained at reception, we were "upgraded" to another room. This room had blood stains on the wall, dirt on the floors and walls, and did not appear clean or sanitized like they promised. •The single towel provided was tiny and looked dirty. •The bed was very hard, the pillows provided were tiny and flat. •The lock on our door was broken, and anyone could just walk in the building and take the elevator. Security was nonexistent. Pretty sure there was a guy on crack geeking-out in reception on our way out. We hastily booked a room at another hotel and escaped. We are still fighting with Hotels.com to get our money back. Don't be like us. You can find a way nicer hotel for $250, I promise! If you are considering booking a room at Union Hotel, DON'T. They are a massive health code violation.

Yeahhhh so I would not recommend anyone stay here. Location is great and the guy who checked us in was very friendly, but that’s where the positives end. We paid for a room with two twin beds and got one with a king size. Okay, not a big deal, that’s fine. But the mattress was atrocious. It should’ve been thrown away years ago. Not even a little cushioning and springs literally digging into your body the entire night. It tools me so long to be able to fall asleep and my entire body was so sore when I woke up. A bunch of things were broken - a lightbulb was dangling from the wall, the shelf in the shower was broken (we didn’t even use the shower because it was not clean), and the tv didn’t work. Everything felt like it was covered in a layer of grime. The bathroom floor was sticky-feeling, the sink wasn’t very clean, AND the biggest surprise - they don’t provide you with towels. You have to ask and they don’t even have hand towels. They just have bigger old towels that look like they came from someone’s home, not intended for a hotel. Thankfully we were only there for one night. Way overpriced for how awful it was. Oh and the lobby reeked of cigarettes. I’m telling you - do NOT stay here.

I do not recommend anyone to stay at this hotel. The photos they have on their website aren’t what we saw when we checked in. Upon arrival no one was there to great us and when a woman finally came to the front she looked at us as if we were an inconvenience. When we got to our room, we had only one pillow and the sheets/pillowcase had grease stains and looked like they haven’t been washed. Bugs were in the air conditioning vent, along with a hole in the wall next to it.I didn’t feel safe the whole 20 minutes we were there before leaving to another hotel. We found a beautiful hotel nearby that cost $300 less than this horrible hotel. Don’t stay here!
