Here's what we observed and learned from our recent two night stay: Front desk staff can be really friendly or really rude (we were greeted by one man who appeared annoyed while he checked us in), but overall staff members who work here are friendly and helpful, especially the ones who help you with the elevator. Parking is $30 for 24 hours (starts when you enter the parking lot) with the hotel voucher, and you have to walk about a block. The housekeeping staff were very considerate and provided everything we needed, plus extra, like shampoo and towels. Location is convenient, but room is small and somewhat smelly (like old laundry). It was cool that you can open the window a little bit. Surprisingly, it was pretty quiet at night, so we were able to get a good night sleep. And the rooftop bar... it isn't as fancy as we thought - you don't get much view. And we were almost ripped off because we just wanted to look around the bar and leave right away (which the staff said is okay to do), but as we were leaving, we realized that someone had tried to make a reservation using our name and hotel room number. We almost got scammed! This was definitely not appreciated. Overall pleased with our experienced.

I would leave Zero stars but I can see that Google doesn't give me this opportunity. The reason behind this was: 1. This is the first 4* hotel I am visiting that did not offer warm water. For 7 days in a row, during Christmas, we had to shower with cold water. The excuse at the hotel was technical issues. 2. The hotel room felt like going back to the 80's. The furniture was old, the air-conditioning sounded like a generator. Simply Terrible. 3. The staff were rude. I was super kind telling them about the water issue, they would tell me someone will reach out to you and nobody did. At some point, I thought they were making fun of us. This was a terrible Hilton experience. On the good points, the hotel room was very quiet and the bed pretty okay.

I am an in-house guest - sadly. The front desk associate who checked me in was very friendly, as has housekeeping. The room is very large and elegantly appointed. However I am giving the property a one-star rating for how it treats Diamond members. We have a $15/night/person food and beverage credit that we could not use because the lobby bar and restaurant is closed and the rooftop does not accept this credit. And of course the credit does not cover a full breakfast, like the previous benefit did. The front desk manager on duty this evening could only be described as uncaring and indifferent to this situation and was more interested in gossiping with a colleague than speaking with me. I have also flagged three times now that my in-room guest phone does not work but maintenance has not repaired it. And the mini bar is empty (never filled) and the night staff do not wear face masks. Overall, this has been a disappointing stay — and I didn’t think it would be! Indeed when I checked in I thought this would be a five-star stay based on how friendly that particular front desk agent was. But she is the exception to the rule.

I’d like to give 4 stars for this second visit but I can’t. I stayed in Dec with my daughter and liked it enough that I decided to stay again this past weekend for a work trip. Rooms are large for NYC standards even if previous reviews said different. They may be a little bit dated but really not that bad. The beds are very comfortable in my opinion, and the fridge and keurig are good amenities (I brought my own k cups this time). What I didn’t have were any cups. None at all. I Had to call desk and have them delivered and then they left the dirty ones day 2 and rather than call down I just rinsed and used again. Are they low on coffee cups? What gives? I showered late on Saturday and went to use the dryer and it only blew cold air so had to call down again. I realize some things are out of their control but it’s the little things that make a stay pleasant. The location is great and I would consider staying again for that reason but please make sure your rooms have the items that are needed because constantly having to ask isn’t ideal and I’m a pretty chill traveler and try to be understanding but some of these things need attention. The gentleman that brought the items up was very nice and I didn’t get his name but wanted to mention.

The best part was the lovely and helpful staff! While I appreciate the hotel's response to my original review, today's room rate is $162/night vs the $563/night I paid over the holidays. That price difference would have set much different expectations. My feedback remains that this is a commuter hotel at best. Tiny, dark room with holes in the wallpaper - the "city view" was a brick building 4 feet from the window. No amenities. There's a small cafe only open in the morning. Rooftop bar was closed. Definitely not 4-Star quality I would expect. Would be worth $162/night, but no where near their holiday rate of $563/night!

I have worked in this area for years and returned for a work trip this week. We have used this hotel as a company for a long time but it’s an open secret that no one likes it. The stay was OK, but for a Hilton, the quality is surprising. Staff was great and The Sandbar rooftop was decent. However, the rooms are dark, and need some TLC. The wallpaper in my room was peeling and bubbling all over the place. I asked for an iron and the retractable cord was broken. When I plugged it in sparks flew everywhere and the iron died. Everything was dog eared and dingy. For almost $2,000 for four nights I wouldn’t book here again. Even on the company’s dime. The Holiday Inn nearby is a much better experience!

This hotel had tiny rooms with missing amenities. In the particular room we stayed in there was a stain on the sheets that resembled blood and we were just provided sheets to remake the bed ourselves rather than having the hotel staff fix it- although to give the benefit of the doubt, this was discovered when going to bed, later at night. The mattresses were pretty hard and uncomfortable, as well, and the A/C in our particular room did not work very well. Overall the value for the location was nice, but we expected more from our stay.

I love staying there, great service and customer service. The room is comfortable as far as size big enough for a New York hotel. Great rooftop with great views. My least favorite part of the hotel is the parking which is quite pricey although they give you a discounted rate and as well as the restaurant downstairs- they don’t even serve mimosas for breakfast, the choices for breakfast are limited and wasn’t the best.

I was hesitant to book here due to some mixed reviews. I was pleasantly surprised the moment my GF and I arrived, we did an early check in and the young lady at the front desk was amazing! I feel terrible for not remembering her name, but she assigned us a room on a higher floor with a nice view. We were there to celebrate an Anniversary so it was perfectly located and close to the subways. As far as cleanliness, it was very clean and the beds were super comfortable! Next year when we go back, we’ll gladly stay at this location. Only minor inconveniences we noticed was, the coffee machine in our room didn’t work properly. Also when I went downstairs to get the two bottles of water we’re allowed, the gentleman at the front desk must’ve been having a bad day. He was a little rude and stand offish after I asked for 3 water bottles, I get it but the tone wasn’t necessary. Thankfully we stocked up on water bottles after this. Aside from that, we couldn’t have been happier! Thank you for making our stay comfortable and pleasant!

I stayed here for a business trip. I would have not chosen this hotel myself, but I had no choice due to my company policy (hint: price). I don’t understand why this place has 4 stars (both reviews and hotel rank). The room is tiny and dated. Front staff was incompetent (I had to use the laundry service because it was a long business trip, but they didn’t hand it over to the cleaning service. Then they insisted that that’s not their fault when it’s clearly theirs). The service was unreliable and stressful when you’re on a business trip. The housekeeping is fine, and the maintenance guy was really nice. But the fact that I had to ask them to fix the light was not what I’d expect at Hilton. I’ll tell my coworkers to avoid this hotel at all costs. I’d probably avoid Hilton altogether going forward. Bye bye Hilton👋 This hotel deserves zero star.

For the price in NYC it is a great stay. $40 to park an SUV and ~$175 a night is as good as you will get for a hotel in midtown. In a safe location and if you have nothing to do the roof top bar and restaurant will make your day more enjoyable. Small rooms and they are very stingy with the towels for some reason. But received daily housekeeping so it made up for it.

I was a little worried about the hotel before checking in based on prior reviews; however, this hotel was perfect and did not disappoint. The front desk staff was courteous and responsive, had my free water as a Hilton honors member, and my room was available for early check-in. The room was the appropriate size for a queen - not too small. It was clean, quiet and very comfortable. Water pressure was excellent, too! I sat in the lobby to wait for a friend for a bit and overheard the front desk staff interacting with customers, everyone was treated kindly and I don’t understand the prior reviews complaints with the staff. The location is great, right near Chelsea - walking distance to so many things. I would definitely stay here again!

The location is great to access places, but staff isn't friendly. The porter immediately told us we must tip him before even taking our bags since we arrived early, when we came back to check in he just handed our luggage to us and expected a tip, didn't take it to our rooms, so I was confused about why we were tipping. The rooftop bar was nice. Rooms were cleaned. We had asked about their ride services to the airport and explained we needed a large (xl) vehicle and they quoted us $68, Napoleon quoted us again $68 before leaving which we compared to lyfts and ubers, again we confirmed with them and said $68 we go to the vehicle and went to the airport, once arrived to the airport the driver charged us $115, we explained that they had quoted us 68 several times and he wasn't taking it, we payed and I called back, I spoke to the front desk and Napoleon and then they tried telling me that an XL was more, when no one ever mentioned it to us, it's a total scam, I don't recommend their driver services, staff was just plain rude

Four of us checked in late went up to the room. No drinking water in the room went down to ask front desk. She give me two bottles I asked for two more as we are four , she give me a look and asked me how many rooms I booked as she handing me the other two bottles. I booked a room for four , she is giving me attitude for water i would have paid for the water instead of the attitude i got. Few days into the stay , I realized this hotel has no water in the lobby . No microwaves in rooms, no other basic amenities or anything that helps to provide comfort, convenience, or enjoyment. The hotel is not very welcoming and the staff is not that friendly. The hotel does not have a good view my room has view of an alley and room was very small. I will not stay there again.

The staff who greeted meet at the reception were highly professional and very helpful. The rooms were very clean and well equipped . Despite the pandemic, other hotels offer you service every other night; I thought every three nights too much. The hotel could provide ice buckets; I didn't appreciate getting ice in bags from the reception to find I had no place to put it except for the sink where I washed my hands and brushed my teeth.

Awesome location, rooms are decently sized for New York. Was on a lower floor which allowed me to easily head out via stairs instead of waiting for the elevator. However the bed for some reason is not as comfortable vs the other hotels I was in this time, I think either it was the detergent or the mattress. In contrast two other Hilton Garden inns in NYC I stayed in were far more comfortable. There was also something wrong with the heater/ac, I had switched it to ac once time but the heater was stuck on, leading the room heating up endlessly when the system was trying to cool. Luckily the weather was ok enough where I shut off the system for the majority of the trip so that didn't bother me as much.

Rooms were nice, Martha at the front desk was AMAZING! So helpful with recommendations! The only downfall of this stay is that the rooms are VERY LOUD. Not only can you hear your neighbors loud and clear, the room doors SLAM shut. It’s late at night as people come back, early in the morning when they leave, and then house keeping starts in slamming them. It’s darn near impossible to sleep well.

DO NOT GET THE “breakfast included” RATE. 1) for an average of $60 extra per room per day your breakfast will consist of exclusively one stale croissant (plain or chocolate) and a small plate of plain fruit (watermelon, cantaloupe, pineapple and literally 4 berries). And that’s every day! No eggs, toast, jam, cereal or anything else one would expect from a “continental breakfast”. Of course other items are available on the menu but at full cost. 2) rooms are small and outdated with very loud AC. If your room is facing the street (front of the hotel) then expect loud noises from traffic and service trucks especially in the wee hours of the morning. 3) The bathrooms are standard but lack any place to hang towels or toiletry bags. There is literally only one single hook on the back of the bathroom door 4) front desk staff doesn’t care. We mentioned the breakfast situation and were referred to “the manager” who after much back and forth with his manager PROMISED a refund of the breakfast rate difference. Plot twist: the refund was never given and after complaining to Hilton we were dismissed. Don’t believe verbal assurances by staff and get everything in writing!! That is if you can get it… these “managers” seem to always be in “meetings” when asking for updates… Bottom line, this is a far cry from any other Hilton experiences I’ve had and not even close to standards you would expect from this hotel brand.

As an ex-New Yorker, I can tell you that this hotel is a great balance of location, room size and price. Plus it’s Hilton and you know what you’ll get on service. It’s clean and comfortable. Whenever I travel back to NYC, I’m here. It’s near my subways and located away from Times Square craziness, but if you want that, it’s 3 subway stops away.

Booked this hotel due to proximity of my NY activities. I travel often for work and am very familiar with Hilton properties. This hotel was extremely underwhelming in comparison. Dated rooms, no frills, bare basic, cheap amenities. Nothing more than a place to sleep. At nearly $400 a night, I felt ripped off. In this price point, even for NY there are nicer places to stay. On the positive side, I was able to check in early.

I wouldn’t book here. I have spoken to multiple people regarding any sort of refund on my booking and was told that even though I was being tested for COVID and was even sent home by my job as a healthcare worker for suspicion of covid and pending pcr results that there was nothing they could do since I booked through Expedia. Meanwhile, Expedia has told me multiple times that management here refused my request. I keep getting the run around from staff here and don’t think I can trust them for future bookings.

The worst hotel experience of my life. We checked in late and went to bed in the dark room without examining our bedding closely. In the morning, we woke up horrified to learn that our bed sheets had not been changed, as evidenced by the evidence of blood on the bottom and flat sheet, that I slept on. When we brought the issue up with the manager, she was unapologetic and rude. She belittled my fiancee on the phone and spoked down to her in an extremely condescending tone. The manager offered us a $100 credit in Hilton points (room value was $395) and free breakfast in exchange for sleeping in a disgusting, unhygienic bed that the cleaning staff had failed to change the sheets in. She kept telling us it was our fault for booking the room via credit card points, as though booking via a 3rd party does not guarantee you a clean bed. We felt disgusted and wholeheartedly unwelcome as a guest. I am a Hilton Gold status member and will never stay in this hotel, or any NYC Hilton, again after this experience.

I was given a room on the 19th floor, overlooking 26th Street. The rooms are remarkably large for a new York hotel, and mine was very nicely furnished, spotlessly clean and in very good repair. Everything worked as it should. There are 3 elevators, which is ok most of the time although there can be a long wait at peak times. The staff were really nice. The restaurant was good, but not cheap. The fruit plate at breakfast was wonderful - all freshly cut and delicious. A short walk from the subway and Penn station. Very convenient. Would definitely stay here again.

Great location for what I needed to do while I was there. The singing from the "stage" show in the restaurant is loud if you are trying to have a quiet glass of wine at the bar. I had a couple small issues while I was there but they were resolved. Unfortunately I did need to request coffee containing caffeine twice before it was provided for my room.

Great stay! Stayed for orientation at FIT, and the service was exceptional; the room was very clean and the front desk attendants was always helpful and kind. Had a mishap with potentially lost luggage but the manager was quick to locate and find my lost bag! It was shipped to me in five days with all my belongings. Would absolutely stay again!

    - The first picture related to this location is a table service restaurant on the rooftop and they do not allow you to go up without a reservation at any time. I know not to expect a large space when it comes to most hotels in NY, but this one's lobby was also fairly small - there's really not much space to just hang out if traveling with a group, besides in the rooms themselves. - The front desk does not answer the phone when you call from offsite - I had questions regarding my reservation and called twice, only to be on hold with their central customer service line for 40 minutes each and no luck speaking to anyone on site before traveling to the location. That being said, they do answer when you call from the room and are responsive. They are also professional during check-in and checkout. - The rooms are clean and quiet, but the bathroom sinks in both of the rooms we had reserved were slow to drain, which makes me wonder how clean they really were. - We watched a member of housekeeping corner a woman leaving the fitness center for taking "too many water bottles", which were free to guests, and nowhere did it say that there was a limit on how many to take. She had three that she explained she was taking back to the folks in her room, and for the amount that they charge, I would have taken four. (He made her put them all back) We proceeded to refill our reusable water bottles at the fountain in the gym and were stared down the entire time by the same housekeeping gentleman. - When we checked out, the bellman who took our luggage was very aggressive in asking for a tip, which we were going to give anyways, but he was also so unhappy? A little unsettling as were leaving our belongings in the care of this gentleman, but the bellman we retrieved our things from later that day was very nice. Overall, it's a hotel in NYC. A little bummed about the quality of the overall experience for our expected Hilton standard, but we did have a clean and secure place to sleep. It has been a while since we've stayed with Hilton and I don't think I will again for a while. I wouldn't go back to this location, especially when for close to the same price, there were locations that seemed to offer more in the area. The only reason we booked this one was for the rooftop, which like I mentioned above, we didn't even get to use, since no one in our group drinks.

The room was of a decent size but I found the quality of facilities and amenities to be quite low. Here is a partial list of issues I have had with the room: • The room was too dark at any time of day, even with all the lamps lit. In order to pack and unpack I had to use my phone's flashlight. Overall, this was an unpleasant experience. For example, there is a mirror in the room but there is a very low light over it and it is impossible to see yourself in the mirror properly. • A/C was extremely loud, I was woken by the sound of it turning on at night mutliple times. On the first night I thought that a garbage truck is passing in the street outside before I realized it is the A/C. • Shower head is quite limiting and uncomfortable. There is nowhere to stand without getting splashed by cold water when turning it on. There isn't a hose, just shower head on top, which makes the shower uncomfortable to use. • Shower drain is super noisy, and just feels low quality. • Areas in some of shower cabinets and radiator were stained and rusty. • You don't even get free water if you are not a "member", which seems to me like a pretty basic amenity for a 4 star hotel. • The safe in the room was faulty and I was unable to lock it. • The elevators are very slow; out of 3 elevators it seems that during most of my stay only 2 were operational. • The TV remote was not fully compatible with the TV, so a lot of operations other than the very basic of flipping channels and setting the volume, such as viewing info about current show or channel, were not available. Overall, it felt like a 3 star hotel with a slightly bigger room, and not the level I would expect for the price I paid. Looking at other reviews, some people commented that the hotel is "good for the price", but they seemed to have paid less than half of what my company did for the room!

Clean room and friendly staff. That is all this hotel has to offer. Room 1814 is not well lit for working at the desk. The room does not have a microwave, refrigerator, thermostat is broken, limited racks for towels, cold showers, and small closet. I am very happy to check out tomorrow, and try another Hilton hotel with the basic amenities I am accustomed to. This is the first time a Hilton hotel has dropped the bar and did not meet my standards or expectations.

Great experience from check in to check out! The room was a good size for NYC and very comfortable. Location was really central and convenient. I wish we had known to make reservations at the rooftop bar ahead of time, but we were still able to go up and check it out. Would definitely stay again!

Centrally located. Convenient. Close proximity to everything worth seeing in the city. The staff is amazing. Rooms are a bit small but clean. No lobby but practical reception with a few seating arrangements. The gym only allows 3 persons at a time so you will have to adjust. Good rates. Parking garage arrangement is good but for $40 a night and you can't even take it out when you need it. It is not parking just a car storage. The best thing about the hotel is the staff and location. Overall a good experience.

Stayed this past weekend. The hotel is centrally located that is convenient for anything you want to do in New York, and the hotel staff are nice. Besides that, this hotel needs to be gut renovated. The rooms were clearly built in 1985 and have not been touched since - our “superior” room had peeling wallpaper on every wall, handprints on the ceiling, and the counter in the room was broken upon arrival. The walls are in paper thin so you could hear everything going on in the hallway and rooms next door. I have stayed at many Hilton properties, and this one is a severe letdown that needs to be closed to the public.

To be honest, I didn’t stay at the hotel but I had a chance to visit their bars on 1st and top floors to hang out with my friends who stayed at the hotel. The bar on the 1st floor has the best Bloody Mary I have had. The tomato juice tasted very fresh and lots of kicks and yummy flavors in it. Amazing. 👌🙂

The location is good but the receptionists were rude and they ruined my experience. I would have rated them higher (3/5) if they were more welcoming and friendly. Also, the room was not clean enough. The sheets had stains on them. There is no refrigerator in the room, too.

We recently visited this hotel April 21st-23rd 2022 for my son’s 26th Birthday. There were four of us in a room and we had plenty of room. Our visit and stay was fabulous, hotel was nice, in a good location, most of all hotel staff was very friendly. Erica was superior with helping us chose places to visit for night life as well for day trips. I definitely would stay in this hotel again. Easy access around to minor necessities you would need during your stay. Just was hoping for a better view. However the rooftop is Beautiful and has a great view of the city.

Had to request a blow dryer. First blow dryer didn't work, 2nd one they delivered did. Room phone did not work. They sent repair person to fix it. The in room book advertised a Sundry Shop (see picture). I called the desk asking about it and they said they did not have one but could recommend nearby stores I could visit. Room was small with only one chair. Bed was comfortable. Staff was nice.

The hotel is circa 15/20 minutes walking distance from times square, so well located. The rooms are spacious are comfortable. The room top bar only opens at 16h00 which is also when the room service food starts. Would be great if, for people staying in the hotel, the space was open sooner. Staff was nice

Definitely stayed here for the food!! The rooms were nice, but definitely not as expected from the advertisement. Perhaps it was a difference of NY sizing vs everywhere else, but King Suite was a lot different on the NY SIZE SCALE. Service was great though and the restaurant food and dinner show entertainment IMMACULATE!! This made the price point worth it!!

The rooms were smaller than I'd imagine they'd be and there wasnt much of a view. But other than that they provided great amenities in the hotel itself, though I could not find time to utilize them, The roof top bar, dining facilities, and fitness center all sounded great. I had an incident in which I was forced to move my reservation and while I was accommodated I didn't appreciate the verbal reprimand. All together though the staff and hotel were great and I would return and/or recommend to friends.

Front desk gives misinformation about parking. Roof deck lounge requires a reservation @ $25 a person, it’s a separate entity with a reservation due though a separate site, but they don’t tell you that on the site. Cocktails were so so and over priced. Management was unreasonable due to misinformation about parking. Give you a single roll of toilet paper and only 3 towels for 3 ppl for a 2 night stay and barely enough toiletries. No maid service unless you book 3 nights. You literally have to ask for everything and anything manually. Including no trash being removed, beds being made etc etc… Stay away, much better options and very misleading about the view for the additional price. I’ve been a HH member for many years, super disappointed. Done.

Excellent customer service. Located on a street perpendicular to 2 busy avenues in NYC so not directly off those avenues meaning you will get a quiet sleep but grabbing a cab is a short walk to those avenues. Has a rooftop bar and a restaurant. Again the customer service was fantastic.

I hardly leave reviews but had to after staying here. We stayed for two nights and there was ZERO hot water the entire stay. Not even the sink. For a 4 star hotel and over $400 a night, hot water is expected. We literally had to take cold showers. The rooms are dark, dingy, and depressing. The strange dark blue wallpaper makes it feel like a cave. We were given no complimentary water (usually even a 3 or 2 star hotel will give you a couple bottles of water). The only only pro of staying here is that it’s walking distance to time square. I’ve stayed at many Hilton’s and have never had a bad experience until now.
